On May 9, 2024, Jared Taylor released a video entitled “What Is Our Goal?” that, quite frankly, surprised me. After a litany of well-chosen illustrations of America’s decline, he declares:
It doesn’t matter who is elected President this year or four years from now or 40 years from now. It’s over. We can’t take the whole country back. We’ll have to settle for something less.
The only solution, as Taylor sees it, is “. . . an ingathering of our people on this continent, and we will finally succeed in building a new home in North America for Europeans and their civilization.” In short, Taylor advocates the creation of a new white homeland in North America, a post-American ethnostate.
Jared Taylor usually produces tight arguments, so I scanned back through his text in search of support for the claim that “It’s over.” But I found nothing conclusive. Mind you, a case could be made for giving up on America. I could make that case. But Jared Taylor does not make it. Instead, he’s clearly speaking from his heart or his gut. But he’s drawing upon decades of observation and experience. So, arguments or not, he deserves to be taken seriously.

Things really are bad. The Democrats are the party of anti-whiteness, and the so-called opposition is just as wedded to the silly dogma that white identity politics, and only white identity politics, is the worst thing imaginable. No matter what party wins, anti-white policies will reign. They’ll just speed up or slow down. Without a fundamental change of course, America will cease to exist in any meaningful form, and eventually the white race will cease to exist in North America.
The main problem with this bleak analysis is that it assumes that the establishment parties are the only political forces and that White Nationalists are and will remain mere helpless spectators, looking on as Democrats and Republicans trade deck chairs on the Titanic. We’ll come back to this later.
Still, in my heart, I know Jared Taylor’s right. I don’t think “It’s over” for the white race in North America. But if I were a bookie, I wouldn’t lay favorable odds on the United States existing in its present form 20 years from now. After all, even a serious empire such as Rome fell. And America ceased being a serious country a long time ago.
Scott Greer, who according to his Twitter/X bio is as tall as me and much smarter, responded to Taylor with an article called “It’s Not Over for America” on his Substack, Highly Respected. Greer’s best argument is pragmatic:
The issue is that the vast majority of whites are going to tune out the message of “it’s over.” They think on a different level from those of us in the know. The message also has the unintended effect of blackpilling our own audience. If told normal politics is a waste of time and we must pursue a far-fetched goal that’s hard to work toward in our day-to-day life, many will simply give up on politics altogether. Rather than work toward an ethnostate, they will turn to other pursuits. This would obviously fortify the corrupt status quo.
It’s better to think it’s not over and work with what we have.
The truth in this argument is that one’s mindset matters. If one thinks there are opportunities for positive change in the here and now, then one will look for them, and one’s animal spirits will be engaged. If you seek, you just might find. And if you are enthusiastic, you just might prevail. However, if most people think there are no such opportunities, they won’t look for them. They will disengage from politics and focus on other immediate concerns. This is because most people have high time preferences and weak imaginations. They aren’t cut out for multigenerational political crusades.
The weak part of this argument is how Greer interprets working with what we have. Of course we must start with what we have. The crucial question is: What do we do with it? This gets us back to perennial debates about vanguardism vs. mainstreaming. Will we save our people by following the mainstream or by leading them to a new worldview?
In support of his argument, Greer cites a 1995 article by Sam Francis, “Prospects for Racial and Cultural Survival,” which seeks to dampen enthusiasm for secessionism. I thought Francis’ argument was weak when I first read it 25 years ago, and it has not aged well.
Francis’ argument is based on a fundamental failure of imagination, which is to say: it is conservative. Like many conservatives, Francis implicitly assumes that we could start with the present GOP and get to something like White Nationalism in ten or 12 steps. Thus we must pitch our case to the GOP, which would never countenance giving up territory or the political symbols and ideas associated with America. Francis couldn’t even imagine weaning them off cheap labor. In the end, the best he hoped for was a return to some form of white supremacism in a multiracial union. But this time, apparently, the results would be different.
The problem with working with “what we have” is that “what we have” is a system that dooms us, as well as a tissue of delusions that prevents us from fixing it. We are ruled by a political establishment in which anti-white ideas are hegemonic, no matter what party rotates in and out of office. Even Donald Trump, in whom Greer invests so much hope, thinks that white identity politics is taboo but will endlessly pander to blacks and Jews and proudly brag about it. If we keep playing by those rules, we are doomed.
But conservatives, especially older conservatives, are wedded to a delusional ideology that prevents them from confronting this fact and fixing it. Imagine white people thinking that this America is “our” country and being willing to spill blood to keep it together. Imagine thinking that the Constitution is the basis of today’s political system. Imagine believing in “colorblind individualism” and the proposition that “All men are created equal.” Imagine thinking that you belong to a conquering, Faustian race while you flee enemies you fear to name to ever more distant suburbs in search of “better schools” and “less crime.” Imagine thinking that the symbols of America remain meaningful when the substance of the regime and the people have been radically altered.
Greer cites polls indicating that Republicans today are resistant to secessionist ideas as well. That would be “racist.” But we won’t fix America, either, if racism remains the ultimate political sin, but only for whites.
Yes, we must work with “what we have.” But it is self-defeating to compromise our core ideas to accommodate delusional Republicans. Our job is not to agree with the mainstream, but to make the mainstream agree with us.
Mainstreaming only makes sense when it comes to tactics of persuasion. We should be maximally flexible and pragmatic about how we persuade people. We should divide our camp and find ways to pitch White Nationalism to every white constituency. But we must be adamantine and dogmatic about our core principles and goals.
What is the best way to start moving the mainstream in our direction? Is it by affecting Olympian disdain and world-weary cynicism toward politics, especially electoral politics? Is it to say, “It doesn’t matter who is elected President this year or four years from now or 40 years from now”?
No. Actually, the mainstreamers are right on this as well. Most Americans only pay attention to politics when it affects them locally or when presidential elections roll around. If our goal is to lead them toward a better worldview, then we need to approach them when and where they are most engaged, get their attention through topical political commentary and activism, and move forward from there.
There is another reason why White Nationalists should care who will be elected President of the United States this year. No, Donald Trump is not going to give us White Nationalism. That was never in the cards. Creating White Nationalism is our job. What Trump can give us is time.
Trump didn’t build a wall, but he did slow down immigration. The Biden regime has opened the floodgates, because they know that at a certain point, the numbers of non-whites will become so large that there will be no chance of America becoming a white country again, at which point we go to post-American “Plan B” thinking.
A million non-whites can cross the border in the time that it takes us to convert a thousand whites to our thinking. Yes, the fact that millions are flooding in helps us convert people. But numbers matter to politics. We aren’t trying to create an enlightened but politically impotent minority. We are doing this to win. Since we win by having more people on our side and fewer people opposing us, we need a slowdown of immigration.
Indeed, remigration is now at least being discussed in the mainstream. There is also widespread popular support for it, even among Democrats. So it may happen. This is why Trump is clearly better for white people than Biden or any other Democrat who might run.
Even though today’s voters need to be thoroughly deprogramed and deloused, I see no reason why White Nationalists need to reject the symbols of the American political tradition. Most people are superficial. That means that they respond to symbols, not substance. That is what allowed them to lose their nation in the first place. Our rulers kept the flag and the parchments and began to replace the people. But the targets of slow white genocide are mostly still sleeping. They would fight like lions, however, to preserve the Constitution and the stars and stripes for the brown people who are replacing them.

I also see no reason to reject much of the substance of the American political tradition.
Republican rather than hereditary government is a good thing. The true meaning of the claim that “all men are created equal” is simply a denial of the principle of hereditary rule.
The mixed regime set out in the Constitution has ancient roots because it more reliably secures the common good than unmixed regimes. The Constitution even refers to the idea of the common good (“the general welfare”) as opposed to the radical liberal individualism that has been foisted on it.
The Naturalization Act of 1790 made it explicit that America was to be a white nation. Thus there is no contradiction between white identity and American identity, properly understood. (See my essay “American Ethnic Identity.”) America was founded as a white society. Americans are a distinct white ethnic group. The United States was normatively white until only recently. Thus, repealing multiculturalism and making America white again is entirely consistent with the intent of the Founders and most of American history. (See my essay “Is White Nationalism Un-American?”)
Such facts are simply ignored by the Left, which has redefined Americanism as a civil religion with a catechism cobbled together from a line from the Declaration of Independence as misinterpreted in the Gettysburg Address, some doggerel by Emma Lazarus, and a line spoken by Martin Luther King (who was the last man in the world who would want to be judged by the content of his character).
If the present system continues, it truly is “over” for America and the white race in North America. But it won’t continue. It has already been disrupted. It will continue to be disrupted. Americans are increasingly rejecting racial egalitarianism, anti-white racism, open borders, globalization, and the political sham known as “liberal democracy,” which means rule by a decadent elite that has made an art of not giving the people what they want.
There are two reasons for this awakening.
First, anti-white policies have had catastrophic consequences which can no longer be covered up. Second, our movement needs to take some credit as well. We warned against these follies, we documented their failures, and we dismantled their rationales. We began on the margins. We felt we were talking to ourselves. We felt that we were speaking to future generations. But we persevered. People began hearing us, and our ideas have moved slowly from the margins to the mainstream.
In 2015, the political establishment had a gentleman’s agreement to never compete on immigration, globalization, and multiculturalism. That consensus was smashed by Donald Trump. Trump’s decision to compete on immigration was influenced by Ann Coulter, and she was influenced by Patrick Buchanan and Sam Francis. In 2011, ideas such as “white genocide” and the “Great Replacement” were marginal within the White Nationalist community. Now they are being discussed by the Republican mainstream. A decade ago, ideas such as secession, partition, and the mass deportation of non-whites were only discussed among White Nationalists. Now they are discussed by mainstream Republicans. A decade ago, only White Nationalists talked about “anti-white” racism. Now it too is a mainstream political issue.
I have my political preferences, but ultimately, I am an agnostic on questions such as: Is America doomed? Will the United States go White Nationalist? Or will White Nationalism first emerge in a post-American state? Will the present regime be overturned through the political process, through violent revolution, through secession, or simply through a general collapse? Will White Nationalism take power through an organized political movement, or through some sort of metapolitical awakening? Will there be one white state or many? There are just too many incalculable factors to make confident predictions about such matters.
But I am sure of three things. First, nothing lasts forever. America will be over someday. The big question is whether it will become White Nationalist before then. But every regime is mortal. Second, that goes double for inherently violent and unstable regimes such as multiculturalism. Third, if White Nationalism emerges, no matter how it emerges, no matter what political preferences you have, we all must do the same basic things in the present day. We must lay the metapolitical foundations for White Nationalism.
The beginning is ideological. We must defend a positive vision of White Nationalism. We must dismantle competing worldviews. We must create institutions to propagate our message. And we must create communities that gather and preserve our people, giving them a taste of the ethnostate in the present wasteland. Yes, I treat politics as an afterthought, because politics really does come after thought.
Whether you think America is over, or whether you think it can be saved, there’s really no point getting too heated about the issue, because practically speaking, in the here and now, we all have the exact same job. But white people are a diverse lot, which means we can carry out the same job in an exciting variety of ways. (See my essay “Redefining the Mainstream.”)
All we have right now is metapolitics. But that’s where we must begin, anyway. We don’t need to persuade everybody. Some white people cannot be saved. We don’t even have to persuade the majority, because most people follow others. All it takes is a significant minority of highly intelligent and engaged people. And if enough such people reject this anti-white system, it will end.

I’m so grateful for this article that I’m making out a check to Counter-Currents right now. Jared Taylor’s video was indeed from the heart, since the facts were much the same as they’ve been for years. I think the Robert E. Lee business got to him. His article called for a response, and the response called for a response. The claim that the system can’t be reformed, only replaced, leaves us no guidance. We have to make do with trying to turn things around. As Rousseau said, we have to take human nature (and current society) as it is. This trilogy of articles feels like a culmination, and a turning point.

Great article and proper thinking. I have one quibble with the first sentence in the quoted passage. I think the proper disposition should be: “We must define, refine and proselytize a positive vision of White Nationalism.”
We go on the offensive now. Great article. No matter what, we have to do the same things at this time. The opportunity for us is being of service to our people as we are persecuted and the persecution ratchets up. A shelter in the storm will be our means of persuasion.
Off topic, but a thing of interest. Tucker interviews Erik Prince. Early on, they discuss how our Congress-clowns don’t serve in the military. Tucker editorializes, “or their children serve in foreign militaries”, and crinkles his face in disgust. This is fantastic! I can’t meme. That one line would make a great meme. Tucker uttering that line and then having a picture of the congressperson and their child in the foreign military for each one of them would be fantastic. Then take that meme and dump it on radical Leftist channels along with the recent proposed bill to fund the pensions of IDF fighters.

Englishman here. This profound article feels like an articulation of the conversation that goes on in my heart on an almost daily basis now. London – and the UK more widely – feels as though it is a tin can buckling in a vice, battered by waves of hostile and unwanted incomers who despoil everywhere they touch, and for whose unbelievable cost I am expected to pay, smiling whilst I do so. Every time I see parts of the city now resembling the ‘Mogadishu and Karachi’ model, I slide quickly towards Jared Taylor’s position (and boy, he can be forgiven for surrendering to his despair, he’s been in the trenches for a long time). Yet on Monday I left town and spent the day walking in the Chiltern Hills. I ended up in the truly lovely village of Aldbury (where the ‘Murdersville’ episode of The Avengers was filmed in the 1960s), the very imagine of English rural life as it has been for hundreds and hundreds of years: delightful pub, duck pond, ancient church (open for anyone to just walk in), birdsong and locals who greeted me warmly as one of their own as I sat drinking a pint of cider outside the pub. It was so free of diversity that I felt my spirit soar. Honestly, it was so wonderful I literally felt like crying at one point.
It was a salutary reminder that this country – and yours – are not dead yet, and resistance to the bad actors that have created this horrific situation needs to be carried out every day in every way, large and small. Certainly here in the UK, I feel as though a subtle shift has occurred in the past few years: the mask of the globalists has slipped so far that many people now share these feelings, even if they are at present too afraid to verbalise them for fear of being ratted out Stasi-style to the Thought Police. Or the actual police. Jonathan Bowden talked of the need to keep radical ideas bubbling under and available for people when the time is right; I can only hope that a critical mass of people find their way to them soon.

I think that Taylor is ultimately correct. The option that seems most promising to me is the kind of “Red State Secession” movement proposed by Spencer J Quinn here and Thomas Dalton a few years ago at the Occidental Observer. From this perspective, the presidential election probably isn’t that significant, but there is still much that can be done, no reason to fall into the hopelessness that Greer rightly fears. The GOP at the national level is, I think, pretty much hopeless, but we do need to work within state and local parties. Polling data suggests that our people are warming to the idea of secession, at least in some areas.
Red State Secession wouldn’t mean an ethnostate, at least not right away. But realistically, I think it could mean a white supermajority, immigration restriction , and a kind of “Ninety Percent White Nationalism” to use your term. I even think that in a red-state confederation, a return to Freedom of Association could be on the table. A situation like that would be infinitely better than what we have now.
If we can achieve that, who knows what could be possible in the future.

Yes. But like Don Pelayo and the old Asturians, someday we want our massive oceanic coastlines with their many deep warm-water ports back. We can’t surrender entire coastlines. If we do, there must be a long term plan and vision of an expansion and reclamation of our oceanic port cities.
Dr. Johnson, these are excellent articles ─ the caliber of which I have come to expect at Counter-Currents and why I shall be supporting as much as I can in the coming year.
With respect to Red State vs. Blue State Secession, I don’t see how RS Secession could possibly work since the System will pull out the stops to destroy it militarily. Think Ruby Ridge applied on a titanic scale.
All you really have to do is publicly start having “Whites Only” barbecues. If these events in White solidarity are not backed by an arsenal of nuclear weapons, then maybe they won’t be snuffed out so easily, but I don’t see that as too likely either.
BS Secession might have a better shot at things as ZOG might be more tolerant of the Blues, but Leftists being Leftists, their People’s Republic of CHUD will likely quickly descend into BLM-tier chaos and then require a toxic-avenger ZOG intervention. And when they do that the System is going to make short work of “White enclaves” as well just because they are already mobilized.
Either way, the prospects seem bleak and I share most of Jared Taylor’s concerns.
I strongly disagree with those who feel that the USA was an abortion from the beginning. One might be pardoned for thinking so because American History has been taught since 1960 that the White Man is the Devil and that the best Conservative response to that has been impotent Libertarianism and lower income taxes.
Yes, we can point to some original sins. The slavery question was never settled and the Republic was founded with Whiggish priors ─ such that far too many imagined thirteen “Switzerlands” instead of one organic American Nation-State. We didn’t get what is mostly incorporated into the 14th Amendment in 1790 but instead as a pugil to use against the Old South. And the 15th and 17th Amendments travesties ─ and probably the 16th, we could easily do without.
I have been studying Collapse for a long time, probably for over fifty years. Some seem to think that if somehow the lights get unplugged that everything will change ─ and for the better. Rain follows the plow; put your shoulder to the wheel, etc. I doubt it.
Yes, there will be a compentency crisis and if the pilot is a Negro I am going to think twice about boarding ─ but I don’t see the airplanes falling out of the sky and the opportune collapse of ZOG as a result. Highly-incompetent, monumentally-cruel and staggerly-corrupt regimes can rule for centuries if world history is any guide.
At best a Reset of the kind of “Science Fiction” significance that might destroy the anti-White “world vampire” as Hitler called it means decades or even centuries of restoring what was lost long ago. But I don’t think most of us would survive a few minutes if the lights went out for good.
Generally speaking, I abhor balkanization and find that prospect to be only slighly more palatable and probably not any more successful than the above Reset to the state of nature, which is: “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.”
A sucessful revolution means replacing one State with another State that is more to our liking. The 20th century past has shown that this can be nearly bloodless if we don’t consequently have to fight a world war afterwards just to stay afloat.
We have to make a clean break with the existing alien system and its (((functionaries))) and to punish our traitors by forfeiting their lives and their sacred fortunes. That is not going to happen exclusively at the ballot box, but we should be controlling the due processes if we ever hope to exercise power and statecraft.
And I am not talking about Cargo Culting the Founding Fathers or the Third Reich ─ that is a bit of a straw man since we are not trying to “conserve” what has already been lost in any case.
But we do have to create a new (American) mythos, and other White countries need to do likewise in allyship. We Americans are Europeans and we need each other.
Civilization is not something that blossoms out of a can when opened after the “Zog collapse,” nor does it spring from the morning mists like a fresh dusting of Libertarian mushrooms on the lawn.
A State has to be built and created. That is not so easy to do. The Founding Fathers were elites and we are not even close as of yet to their caliber. Ideally our Nation-State would simply replace the old one; the more we have to build it from scratch the more suffering there shall be, and the less likely that there will be sufficient time to actually do it successfully. Like Mr. Taylor, I am not very optimistic.
Details matter. What can we do? Cumulative Baby Steps.
Recently the House of Representatives passed perhaps the most vile bill to come down the Interstate since the 1960s.
I do not know if the Senate will sign off on HR 6090, but I am sure that President Brandon will sign it into law if they do. Lobbying the Senate with all our might to reject this would be a worthy endeavor.
This would-be law would gut the First Amendment by deeming the criticism of Jews and Israel to be “anti-Semitism” as ZOG defines it, and making this an Orwellian Hate Crime. This should be opposed with every fiber of White Nationalist being.
I would like to hear your opinion on this.
Let’s look at HR 6090 in greater detail. Only 21 Republicans and 70 Democrats voted AGAINST the bill. Of the Democrats who voted NAY, most are Negroes or a few Jews whose anti-White sentiments trump their love for Israel. A few might even have some authentic Civil Liberties viewpoints. This isn’t really a surprise.
Of the 22 Republicans who voted NO, that is a bit more interesting. They are either “Hard Right” Conservatives or the usual anti-White Negroes and Libertarian Jews.
I’ll look at the 9 Congressmen from my own state, Arizona ─ all of you should look at the roll call on this atrocity from your own state.
Let’s start with the Democrats. No Arizona Democrats voted against HR 6090.
Then we have two abstentions, interestingly both Democrats.
The two pinkos Raul Grijalva (Yuma) and Ruben Gallego (Phoenix Darktown). Obviously both wanted to please their Jewish donor friends but the anti-anti-Semite sentiment of voting against Israel’s interests was insufficiently strong with their mellanated constituents to be overcome.
We can learn at least a little from this. The folks at TRS think that they have discovered the crown jewels as a way of owning the Zionists, but per Mein Kampf, the JQ really isn’t so much about Israel. And certainly, anti-White and anti-Israel Palestinians/Muslims are still anti-White. Full Stop.
Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) even co-sponsored the anti-Semitism Hate Crime bill, so obviously he really wanted to vote for it instead of abstaining.
And Raul Grijalva (D-Yuma) is a shameless Reconquista, so I rather doubt in his “going fishing” instead of voting that he was particularly concerned with muh free-speech freedoms.
The only Arizona Democrat who voted for the bill was Greg Stanton, a White Libtard from the moderately-affluent areas of Ahwatukee, Chandler, Mesa, and the University (Marxist) town of Tempe. Screw him.
Now to the GOP.
Three Republican dilweeds voted for HR 6090. These are all White scumbags except for Juan Ciscomani, who was born in Mexico but doesn’t speak with an accent and shills for many of the same GOP talking points including border security, which is his Congressional district SE of Tucson, Arizona.
So we have voting for HR 6090, Republicans Juan Ciscomani, Debbie Lesko, and David Schweikert. Lesco is from the affluent Northern Phoenix area, and Schweikert is a Christian-Zionist retard from the super-affluent Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, and Cave Creek area.
David Schwiekert at one time used to be my Congressman, and I remember a missive one time about his latest junket to Israel, and he was lamenting on and on about skinny dipping tourists defiling the waters where Jesus was baptised. Oh my.
These three GOP rats deserve to be defeated at the polls, like yesterday.
Barring any contributions to Counter-Currents, of course ─ if I had the cash, I would donate the maximum allowed to their primary GOP or even Democrat opponents (unless they are Jews or Communists) and make sure that all parties and candidates know that this was because of the voting on HR 6090, the raunchiest bill to come down the plumbing since the 1960s.
I would tell these creeps that if they had so little understanding of the First Amendment, then I would not trust them as my dogcatcher let alone as my Representative in Congress.
The good news is that in Arizona, three GOP Congressmen actually voted NO on HR 6090.
These are my Representative, Andy Biggs (R-Gilbert), Elijah Crane (R-Flagstaff, Prescott, Oro Valley), and Paul Gosar (R-Kingman, Wickenburg, Lake Havasu City). Some wisely voted against the Ukraine war-funding bill; unfortunately all voted for the Israel war-funding bill post 10/7.
They are all described as Far Right by the usual suspects and are somewhat hopeful with some obvious rough edges that could probably be smoothed and corrected with some decent White Nationalist edumacation. For example, Paul Gosar was courted by Fuentes and once ignorantly described Jason Kessler of 2017 Charlottesville as a Soros agent.
I plan on supporting these three for voting against HR 6090, however ─ as I said, the vilest bill to come down the trail, maybe since the 1960s.
If everybody did a little bit locally and from the heart it would not bring the ethnostate, but it would move mountains. And this is how you build foundations.

Regarding Red-state secession: of course the Left will scream for war. That’s just what they are. Nothing good in this world is unopposed. Everything good must be fought for. But there will come a day when they can’t stop us.

I do think that Blue-state secession is more likely to happen unopposed, again, because of what Leftists are. But if they succeed, they will make the rest of America whiter, which would make it more likely that pro-whites can fix the country. And we would inherit the majority of the country.
The idea of a blue state is something of an optical illusion foisted by the electoral system. If one looks at the country by red and blue counties, it rapidly becomes clear that we don’t have blue states so much as blue urban tumors. Once pro-whites are strong enough, we can apply Singapore solutions to these places. Malaysia was tired of being dominated by its Chinese minority, so they just drew a line around the largest concentration of Chinese and told them they were free.

The Regime is resettling those red areas with non-whites to turn them blue. Deportation must be on the table, and soon. The Blue States will not secede. They have AINO by the throat and their grip is only going to tighten.
As a non-American my thoughts on this matter may mean less to Americans, but I think the structure of America has always been dangerous to the interests of whites. The mythologising of its founding has obscured the fact that the founding principles were those of the liberal academic fads of the day, and were not eternal but part of the long intellectual trajectory that has led to the modern state of the US. Moreover, the original vision of the USA was dead and buried after the 1860s.
I think the best thing that can happen for our racial interests is for a balkanisation of the United States along regional lines.
It is good for white interests around the world for the US to either change governments or be broken up.

When it comes to Jared’s recent video, you have to remember at the end of the day, he’s exhausted. Jared has been at this since around 1988 (I think?) And while our situation was less bad then, it certainly wasn’t grand — and I would argue that 1989-present day have been the worst days of our country, and a gradual unfolding of all things horrible. When you’ve been at this for 36 years with little results, you’ll feel down. When we feel down, we often go into desperation mode — as many White nationalists have in these last few years, not just Mr. Taylor. Jared has also long been different in some areas (Weak on the Jewish question, overly exuberant about East Asians, and a few boomerisms like ‘Why don’t blacks and Mexicans just separate if they hate us?’) These things taken into consideration, I also don’t expect Jared to fully grasp everything, nor to see things someone younger like me (I’m 36) would see them. Regardless, I do respect Jared’s 35+ years of hard work, I think he did some great things in the 1990s on TV, and I will always support his freedom of speech and opinion.
I am currently in the process of writing my own analysis of where I think we currently are, and what we should be doing, and not doing — not “quite” like how Scott Greer wrote his, but a similar overview. I myself do not support secession/red state divorce/making White Indian reservation equivalents, etc. I believe in fighting for the continental 48 states (Alaska and Hawaii are up in the air to me) and I still believe there is a way to recapture our country. Your point about mainstreaming our ideas by engaging in the electoral process really resonated with me.
Immigration was only a marginal issue before Trump came on the scene. After his election, immigration became a mainstream topic and Republican candidates were and are routinely graded based on their position on the issue. Now we’re seriously discussing repatriation of illegal aliens. None of that would have happened if we disengaged from the campaign, sat out the election, and watched Trump lose from the sidelines.
When I hear our guys say it doesn’t matter who wins the election, or proclaim their proud abstention from voting in general (a slightly more sophisticated way of saying the winner doesn’t matter), I see a movement consumed by self-defeating nihilism. This mindset, as you aptly referred to it, saps whatever positive energy still remains in our circles. It’s a demoralizing force.
More importantly, it is viewed as bizarre and depressing by normies. As misguided as they may be, the average conservative doesn’t see the country as “over.” When we talk this way or advertise our complete disavowal of the electoral process, it gains us no friends; it is absolutely unpersuasive. Such cynical thinking is toxic within our ranks and walls us off from the normie community. If our ideas are ever to breakthrough, we need to rethink how we talk about elections.

The vast majority of our white men have no courage, no desire for self-preservation and therefore there will be no reversing the rapid descent into third world status for all except the wealthiest 2%. To add insult to injury it will be pauper whites who will provide the security and protection of the wealthy whites enjoying their lives in their walled and gated communities.

Mr. Taylor is right. It doesn’t matter who wins in November this year or forty years from now under the current system. Donald Trump may have raised issues which were previously taboo but he did so under the auspices of the kosher vice grip. What he does, just like Biden, is ultimately in the service of Israel. That may actually mean that if he were to win in November he would do things that Biden simply can’t get away with now, like start a nuclear war with Russia (even were he to do so against his own instincts) or try to destroy Iran—all to give Israel one last gasp of air before the whole world goes under.

I fear our inability to organize will be the death of us. There is so much more that we could be doing than rattling our keyboards hoping for the winds of change to blow our way. Orthodox Jews can snap their fingers and have thousands ready to uproot and move to a new area, vote en masse to take over the school board and local government, shut down public schools and school services and illegally transfer the taxpayer money and real estate to their private, religious schools (with the real estate sometimes sold for pennies on the dollar). The fact that it’s illegal hardly matters because they’ll have taken over the local government. They can do this even as a minority simply by being willing to get out and vote as a unified bloc, while their neighbors can’t be bothered to show up to the polls, not even to save the things they love. Then they’ll cement their hegemony by using bribes and eventually threats of eminent domain to push out all non-Jewish residents from their desired neighborhoods, string up their eruv, and complete a new 100% Jewish enclave. They’ve done it over and over again.
There are reportedly entire cities with tens of thousands of residents, 100% Jewish, where if you’re not Jewish they won’t rent or sell to you – anti-discrimination laws be damned. And I’m not complaining; good for them! We could start our “ingathering”, our Orania, tomorrow if we wanted to. But we can’t even get more than a small fraction of people to take an online poll or pitch in $5 per month. We all could do it, easily, but as a group we’re just too apathetic. Reading and writing must take place alongside real life activism. The preservation of high European culture, a function of Counter-Currents, is extremely important and noble. But we don’t have enough boots on the ground for us to not also be leafleting, protesting and just talking to Whites out and about. I have been trying the latter recently and people have been surprisingly receptive!
You have a very positive attitude and your suggestions are most welcome. Where are you situated? I’m based in the UK; over here we have two pro-white organisations that do public outreach work in a manner that’s very effective – “Patriotic Alternative” and “Homeland”. These two groups are made up of regular, socially-conventional types of people – think of the sort of people you would like as your next door neighbours. They’ve successfully managed to keep out the negative media stereotypes – Third Reich-obsessed, swastika-tattooed, fat, criminally-inclined anti-social elements.

I’ve been thinking along those lines lately. As I hear, the number of participants in the recent survey was not bad compared to the average online poll. Even so, I’d consider any participation rate under 50% to be scandalous. (I don’t know what percentage that is of the people who saw it and had the chance to participate, but it’s a big number.) And among the results was one amazing item. I had assumed that with any big sample, there’d be some disagreement on pretty much every matter of opinion, but there was one question about which there was unanimous agreement. (It was a question about which way the toilet paper roll should be oriented.) Seeing unanimous agreement among 425,000 people blew my little teenage mind…
You’re 100% correct. I have dozens of friends and acquaintances that would agree with virtually everything published here at Counter Currents, but trying to get them to even read something here let alone donate is a Herculean task. It’s the most frustrating thing about our movement.

The language and ethnic origins still play a role, but it is not to be exaggerated. Washington and Franklin were Englich, and Simon Bolivar was a Spaniard. I would like to mention that I read in the comments section on either Counter-Currents or The Unz Review last week where someone claimed it takes only 2-3 weeks to persuade a person to shift from being far-left to at least a moderate conservative, if not a full-blown nationalist, given the availability of appropriate, censorship-free channels to broadcast their message. (The commenter was advocating for supporting college campus protests against Israel as part of a larger strategic goal to dismantle the Jew-supported censorship regime in the USA.)
I wholly agree with this perspective. It took me only a few weeks to become initiated into the nationalist cause. I accidentally discovered Counter-Currents in June 2021 during the Covid pandemic, which was my first encounter with White nationalist politics. The two essays I read that day, if I remember correctly, were Greg Johnson’s “Postmodernism vs. Identity” and Robert Hampton’s “Culture WAP.” From then on, there was no turning back.
Today, I finished reading my 1,063rd essay on this website. (I keep a PDF copy of every essay I read as well as a physical printout. I intend to pass them on to my children someday. I am worried that the Big Tech overlords might try to take the site off the Internet, although I pray that day doesn’t come.) I have also voraciously consumed content from other White nationalist websites, books, and scholarly papers suggested here and within White nationalist circles. Counter-Currents’ quality surpasses all, and it has been like a university to me. I must disclose that I am a Hindu nationalist. I have never been outside India, and American or European politics do not directly affect me. In fact, in the short run, the First World’s mass immigration and globalization may even be beneficial to us Indians. However, as the saying goes, when America sneezes, the world catches a cold. I have seen the influence of the USA’s race and gender politics gradually infiltrate Indian universities and media. We are witnessing American government entities, NGOs, and corporations pressuring the Indian government and companies to implement a leftist-liberal agenda that is anti-nationalist, anti-natality, anti-family, anti-religion, and anti-anything sacred. As an outsider I still think that America HAS some, even if small chances to recovery. However Western Europe does not have any. America maybe is not over, Western Europe is. Of course villages and small towns remain German, French, Italian, Dutch, etc, but the destiny of nations still lies in the hands of big cities, and they, as it looks now, will never be European anymore. Of course, never say never, maybe a big nature catastrophe or a new war will destroy Europe and the Middle Eastern rats will run away from there, and it will give a chance to the restitudes of Western European populations. But these populations would anyway be led by traitorous elites, only now on the Chinese payroll.
I have much more faith in Western Europe than America. The demographics are better and the narrative that they are a nation of immigrants doesn’t hold true to most citizens.

I think an unfortunate fact that a lot of people fail or refuse to recognize is that our enemies are exactly that. A significant minority of highly intelligent and engaged people. The most major difference being that they encompass a number of races and creeds, and currently wield social and political power.
I’m pretty young. And I don’t want to speak for everyone in my age range here, but the opinions I get from other members of Gen Z in this scene are similar to my own. The United States is not only lost, but is absolutely actively hostile to white Americans and their interests. And has been for a very long time. It’s not really a question of if America can be “saved”, but whether or not we should want to save it in the first place.
I’ve tried to not be ambivalent towards the United States. I really have. But the more thoroughly one investigates it’s history, the harder it is to make its downfall seem like anything but a boon for whites in the long run.

But I think selling the idea of “saving America” will be a harder sell to younger generations. I think that’s a bit overstated but makes a good conspiracy-theory, but it does play well with Libertarians who think that the Revolution was about taxes on tea and stamps, and the idea that the sketchy French Revolution was a Jooish plot against Catholic monarchs who dindu nuffin wrong.
I like to remind people that one of the most important driving forces for the American Revolution was populist.

Well, the Spanish Reconquista involved quite a bit of violence and killing, which is a tactic we’re not allowed to consider these days. Could the Spaniards have done it purely through persuasion and politics? I donno… We’ll soon be minorities in our own lands, and government power will increasingly fall under the control of foreigners. I hope that we can win through persuasion, but I expect that in the end we’ll have to rediscover a bit of our ancestors’ “barbarity”, along with a moral outlook that will allow us to feel righteous about it, or else we’ll disappear.
A sustainable ethic for a people must include the righteous use of force to defend itself and its land from those who would invade the land and dispossess the people, when other approaches fail. This is akin to how law can be sometimes be enforced through persuasion and soft power, but ultimately requires the hard power of force to back it up, and if the law is good then the force is righteous. I see the job of right-wing intellectuals as, in part, building a new, sustainable ethic for our people, that sacralizes the prioritizing and, whenever necessary, the defense of our people against other peoples, just as and for the same reasons as we prioritize and, when necessary, defend our own families over strangers – out of love, not “hate”. The modern ethic, which denies us the right to prefer and defend our people, and increasingly attacks the family as well, must be thrown off and inverted.
Here’s why I feel America is doomed.
1. The Democrats will cheat yet again during the upcoming presidential election. They constantly blather on about Trump destroying democracy and that Biden will save democracy. Given the unassailable logic of that previous sentence, they are called upon by whatever God they worship to do anything to stop Trump. That means cheat, lie, accuse, martial law, refuse to leave the White House, use the military, etc. to keep Trump out. If for some reason Trump is declared the winner, Democrats will refuse to recognize the legitimacy of the elections. Remember this is the very thing they accused Trump of doing on January 6. Trump didnt interfere with the election, Democrats will. They always do exactly what they accused Trump of doing. Remember the wail of Trump attacking his presidential opponent, Joe Biden, when Trump asked Zelensky to investigate Biden’s chicanery about getting the Ukrainian official fired? Well, Biden is attacking his presidential opponent by allowing all of these kangaroo courts. Why is no journalist making this comparison?
2. Even if Trump does get in to office, the deep state will once again spring into action or inaction. Trump and all of us underestimated the deep state, aka the Swamp, and it hurt badly.

We can and SHOULD use politics to further our metapolitical goals. Just as metapolitics influences politics, we can use politics as a theatre for our metapolitical goals such as moving the overton window.
For example, even if you have no hope in politics, you can still create content related to politics, use the election season to get the attention of Whites, and gradually red pill them. It’s part of an outreach program.

I felt Greer’s article came off more as a cope. Perhaps if both of these articles came out three, maybe even as little as two decades ago then I would have sided with Greer. But, I think we’ve passed the proverbial Rubicon. Every major institutional power structure is allied against whites, especially white Christian men. The men that were demi-gods in my eyes as a child: Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Robert E. Lee, John Calhoun, etc., are all vilified. The Asian mayor of Boston, a town built by dreaded white people, gets to exclude white people form a party with impunity.

I think it was Jim Goad here who wrote a similar article about how America’s problems are too much for the president, one man, to fix.
