In Praise of Calexit

“The last mass trials were a great success. There are going to be fewer but better Russians.” —Ninotchka

If a red state like Montana or Idaho proposed secession after Barack Obama’s election, Leftists would have been screaming for nuclear war, because no white cis-het scum should be allowed to opt out of their utopia. When Leftists have power, they want to use it, and your consent is not required.

When Leftists feel they are out of power, however, secession suddenly becomes an option. The first rumblings of blue state secession came after George W. Bush defeated John Kerry in 2004. Now the idea is being floated again for California (“Calexit”) and even the whole West Coast. It is actually one of the more sensible pronouncements emerging from the Left’s gibbering nervous breakdown in the aftermath of Trump’s victory, and White Nationalists should take it seriously.

The goal of White Nationalism is to create sovereign homelands for all white ethnic groups. (And, in the process, sovereign homelands for non-white groups from which we wish to separate ourselves.) There are two ways of going from multicultural to homogeneous societies: moving borders and moving people. Moving people keeps borders constant and resettles alien groups. Moving borders keeps patterns of ethnic settlement constant and adjusts political entities to match them. There are two basic ways of moving borders and peoples: the Czechoslovak model and the Yugoslavian model, i.e., orderly and peaceful or violent and chaotic. The end results are usually the same, but the path of violence is much more costly.

Obviously, there is a strong prejudice in favor of retaining territory, but ethnic homogeneity and social peace are higher values, for which ethno-nationalists are willing to sacrifice real estate. Which brings us to the California Question.

I hate to say it, because it is one of our most beautiful states, but culturally and politically the rest of the nation would be much better off if California simply fell into the Pacific. A Calexit would be the next best thing. If California seceded:

  • The Democratic Party would lose its lock on 55 electoral votes, more than 20% of the 270 they need to win the presidency.
  • We would lose around 40 million citizens plus uncounted millions of illegals. One third of California’s citizens are classified as white, although that includes large numbers of Jews (more than 1 million, about 1 in 6 American Jews, including large numbers concentrated in the entertainment media) and other non-European Caucasians. Virtually all the illegals are non-white, of course. A Calexit means that our non-white population would be reduced by about 28 or 29 million, not counting illegals (more than 1/4 of our non-white citizens), whereas our white population would be reduced by only 11 or 12 million (about 1/20 of the overall white population). Many of those whites, moreover, are hopeless Leftists.
  • An independent California might become a magnet for non-whites and white Leftists from the rest of America, a kind of abscess draining the poisons from our body politic. They would flock there for diversity, decadence, and free stuff, and when California turns into Mexico Norte, we would simply extend the Great Wall of Trump to keep them from coming back.
  • The ongoing exodus of sensible whites from California would only accelerate, which would improve the rest of America politically and demographically.

In short, after Calexit, there would be fewer but better Americans.

We don’t even need to lose all of California to reap the benefits of Calexit. Blue state secession becomes far more complicated when one looks at the electoral map on the county rather than the state level. Suddenly monolithically blue states turn out to be seas of red with only small, dark blue urban patches. The blue state secessionists may think of themselves as dismembering America of vast chunks of territory, but we see only small blue tumors that might neatly be excised from the body politic.

2012 US Presidential Election map by county

2012 US Presidential Election map by county

When Malaysia wanted to decrease the numbers and power of its Chinese minority, it simply drew a line around Singapore, where most of the Chinese were concentrated, and gave them their independence. They increased Malay sovereignty and homogeneity by subtracting territory and population. White Nationalists should seriously consider the Singapore solution for America’s non-white zones. New York, Chicago, Miami, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area should become separate city states, whether they remain part of the US or become sovereign.

There have been more than 200 proposals to partition California over the years. If California were to be partitioned into multiple states, some of them would be predominantly white demographically and red politically. For instance, wealthy businessman Tim Draper’s 2013 proposal to partition California into six states would have resulted in three dark blue states and three red states, although only one of the latter—Jefferson, in the north—would have been overwhelmingly white. (The proposal would have been on the November 9, 2016 ballot, but, unfortunately, the political consultants hired by Draper cheated him by turning in large numbers of invalid signatures.)

Because of California’s vast agricultural industry, which favors low-tech Mexican stoop and squat labor, one cannot simply excise the urban tumors. Napa, Sonoma, and the Valley must also be carved off.

I would favor partitioning California into just two states, Jefferson and California. Jefferson would encompass the 14 northern counties proposed for Jefferson plus the counties running along the Sierra Nevada as far south as Inyo country. California would encompass the rest.

Such a partition would place most of the state’s non-whites and Leftists in California. Thus, if California remained in the union, Jefferson would neutralize a great deal of its negative influence by canceling out its senatorial vote and many of its representatives and electors. And if a Calexit took place, the whiter and politically healthier state of Jefferson would remain in the US.

Now there are diehard Californians who want to “Make California America Again.” But at this point, California is more likely to make America resemble it. Furthermore, if California became independent, it would be highly unlikely to ever return to the United States. An independent California would quickly replicate Mexico’s political and economic system: a vast population of low-IQ non-whites working in low-wage, low-tech plantation and sweatshop jobs, ruled over by an elite of sociopathic plutocrats mouthing Left-wing slogans. There would be soul-killing poverty, savage criminality, and stifling corruption. This system, moreover, would be cemented in place by non-whites and white Leftist immigrants from the US, as well as by the exodus of sensible whites from California. The only real way to Make California America Again is the state of Jefferson. We have to let go of the rest.

What about proposals for the entire Left coast to secede? There are problems with this. Each state would have to secede separately, then link up together. Moreover, large chunks of both Washington and Oregon would probably opt to remain in the United States. Both Oregon and Washington have lots of liberal whites, but not a lot of non-whites. If California seceded, but Washington and Oregon stayed put, the non-white and ultra-Left populations of Oregon and Washington might simply emigrate, which would mean fewer but better Cascadians, leaving only the Northwest Front to agitate for secession.

Can Jefferson and Calexit really happen? Yes. There is a long history of such ideas, and present-day initiatives are already underway. The idea of a state of Jefferson has been around since the 19th century, and it has active proponents and supporters today. Even more importantly, both partition and Calexit are supported by both mainstream politicians and wealthy businessmen. I have already mentioned Tim Draper’s initiative to partition California into six states, including Jefferson. Calexit, also known as the Yes California Independence Campaign, has attracted the support of such businessmen as Shervin Pishevar, Jason Calacanis, and David Morin, as well as California State Assemblyman Justin Low.

In spite of Donald Trump’s clear desire to unite America behind him, the Left will continue to polarize the country on racial and ideological grounds—and the Alternative Right will do all it can to keep triggering them. Now we will also work on memeing both Jefferson and Calexit into existence.

Movements like Calexit and the widespread anti-Trump protests make it clear that Leftists don’t just have different opinions from us. They really hate us. And why continue to live with people who hate us? If this were a marriage, it would have ended in divorce long ago. Consider some of the leading “irreconcilable differences” given for divorces: strong lifestyle differences, strong differences between work and spending patterns, lack of trust, lack of reciprocity, constant bickering, long-simmering resentment, contempt, and failure of the relationship to meet the emotional needs of one or both partners. All of these pertain to the Left-Right split in America. It is time to go our separate ways.

Since California partition and secession movements are already underway, White Nationalists need to get behind them. A successful partition and secession in California would serve as a model and precedent for similar transformations across America. So meme it be!

Pardon me if I’ve misread the tone of this piece. I appreciate that you are accustoming people to the notion of ethnostates, of segregation, and to demographic realities in politics.
But how would you stop a border that long from ‘leaking’ constantly?

While I agree that a Calexit is a great idea in principal, I see three major objections being raised. The first is that it will set a precedent and other areas – blue and red – will demand the same leading to the complete breakup of the US. Actually this is really a good thing because it would establish predominantly white ethno-states. However it would also be a bad thing because of new potential conflicts over borders, etc. (who gets the nukes?) The second objection would be that it would reduce our military influence and power in the world. An independent California would probably fall into the Chinese military/economic sphere. The Pentagon types simply won’t allow this (they have too much personally at stake.) The third objection is that it would shatter the markets, destroying the “petro-dollar” reserve currency that is propping up the fragile , debt-ridden world economy. Once again this is a good thing because this will have to happen sooner or later. However, the elites simply will not allow this to happen without a huge fight. And that is the real obstacle to a Calexit. The US as the world hegemon is essential to the elites plans for world domination. I don’t see breaking up the US as something they will simply allow.

Is an independent Mexico or Canada in the Chinese military/economic sphere? No? Then why worry.

I don’t think it would matter to the dollar at all. In any case, the Austrian fear-mongers about hyperinflation have been proved wrong. Their monetary theory is false.

You make some good points. However these may be trotted out as objections by the elites that would have the most to lose. Still if California goes, then the whole of the US may unravel pretty quickly and that could be messy. Undoubtedly foreign powers would try to exploit the situation, and the markets would be chaotic. Perhaps some sort of “confederation of independent states” with a common defense treaty and common market could work. Say, that sounds like what the US was SUPPOSED to be all along.

The best thing about an independent California becoming a magnet for America’s undesirables is that it would not merely be a place for illegals to self-deport to, but for natural-born citizens to self-exile to as well. As President Trump would say “Get ’em out of here.”

I totally support this. Only leftists can spoil one of God’s greatest patches of land on planet Earth. I support drawing a horizontal line about 15 miles north of San Francisco and calling it good. Like you said it’ll be a magnet for SWPLs, hipsters, and the far-left from places in the Northeast. It’ll be a magnet for Muslims who think Trump will put them in camps. It’ll be a magnet for illegal Mexicans already in the Southwest United States. The high-tech businesspeople and the Californians who aren’t cucked will want to get out of dodge. I say we wall it off and refuse to let them back into the country when they find out that their multicultural socialist hellhole is not a nice place to live.

Meanwhile, the rest of America can regroup and we will live to fight another day. As much as this would look like an embarrassment for the Trump administration, to lose a state like California, this is what needs to be done. Of course you risk a domino effect of Seattle/Portland and the Northeast, but I would offer them the ability to escape to California and then if they want to secede anyway, you threaten military force. We do still want to strategically be linked to the Pacific Ocean, so we need Jefferson, Oregon, and Washington, and losing the Northeast U.S. would not be desirable.

I suspect the moment California and/or the Left Coast secedes that New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, and New England will as well. Without CA, they would have so little influence over national politics that they would split too. Any secession will create a precedent. And after that, Lord knows what Mexico or China would do to gain territory in North America.

You raise a question I don’t often see addressed. If the United States disunite into more than one nation-state, what would that do to the world balances of power, specifically in reference to China? Speculation of course, since China tomorrow might be very different from China today. It is certainly different from the Mao version I grew up knowing about.

I live in San Francisco, a very beautiful place in a quite spectacularly wonderful geography I love, peopled largely by entranced quasi-Maoist LightWorkers and very non-foolish Asians and Mexicans. I’d hate to move, but at least Jefferson would be in the same ballpark and we’d still have the Eastern Sierras.

With all due respect, if anything we should redirect them into a Hawaiian secession. It would be more difficult to get people to physically move, but Hawaii will be much easier to cut off from the United States once people are there. It beats having to inevitably reclaim whatever land might be ceded in California when the new country fails.

Ethnically Hawaii is *already* foreign to the USA with only a little over one fifth of its population being American and almost a quarter being mongrels. It’s not hard to make a diverse tropical paradise look like a good option to SWPL leftists and the largely Asian upper-middle class who would in many cases simply be joining up with their countrymen.

For me, it´s about racial segregation, not opinions. Funnily, that´s exactly what will be the result of any Leftie secession because the Lefties will come crawling back into the White countries from their racial utopias in the blink of an eye, so the result of all that will be right what we want: racial segregation, and full White racial consciousness (and very soon, to obtain the whole territory, too, as we only need to wait until the mud-zones crumble, and then take the territory back…. the muds having kinda exterminated themselves in this model). After that cycle, Whites should have learned the lesson for segregation from POCs for a while (until the next time), so these secessions are an excellent way to reach our goals.

It’s radical egalitarianism that has no place in the universe. Liberal ideas of coercive manipulations in a doomed attempt to make everything and everyone equal are anti-natural and often hateful. Is it love that causes colleges and jobs to turn away more qualified Asians and Whites in order to place Browns and Blacks because of their skin color?
Liberals may always go chasing civilizations built by the right because the right works in harmony with nature is ultimately more efficient and true and hence successful. And, yes, eventually many people in successful urban countries begin living in fantasyland about how the universe works and start believing in magical propositions like human rights. Which hopefully you understand don’t actually exist but were created by humans, not that they are a completely bad idea, just that there isn’t such a thing as a human right separate from human mental creativity.

Loving your own race and ethnicity is not hate. Do you post on La Raza and Black Panther sites, reminding them that ‘hate has no place in the universe?’ If not, you might just be an anti-white racist, and remember, that type of bigotry has no place in the universe.

Everyone is missing the best part of a Calexit:

Once it’s cut off politically, we cut off the water. Southern California is going through a massive drought and there is literally no way they can support that population without the rivers feeding into it from the heartland. Could California survive the massive amounts of wildfires that consume thousands of acres every year without outside assistance? I think not.

California would literally starve, burn, and die from dehydration within years.

    Boom.

Massive non-white depopulation as people flee to Mexico as the USA wouldn’t take any traitors.

Racial separatists have often assumed that their own traditionalist enclaves would commence the break-up of the United States – perhaps it might actually be the reverse: multicultural environments might well secure their independence first. Anything that carves America into ethnic homelands should be encouraged, whether those breakaway movements arise from the Left or Right. Whether a multicultural herd or pure-bred Caucasian stock, secession is the only solution. Why not let the California liberals clear a path through the barbwire first?

California has always been under non-white threat. In the 19th Century nearly a third of the work force was Chinese and whites didn’t give up, they fought.

California seccession may be more of a reality than a dream. The globalists aren’t going away, and they still want to implement the Kalergi Plan. They haven’t been defeated; they were just greedy in going for the entire United States. It will be much easier to accomplish with a collaborating, deracinated, rich white populace than the entire United States. California won’t collapse but it will turn into Brazil.

Hawaiian secession is also a worthy pursuit, one that’s even more realistic than California’s since it concerns a native non-white population.

One remark regarding Chinese influence: British Columbia (which could be called “Canadian California”), is currently on its path to become de facto a Chinese province. The city of Richmond has already a strong Chinese majority, and the entire Vancouver area is slowly becoming Chinese, with Chinese capital already dominating. Canada will loose British Columbia within one generation, if not in a formal sense, then certainly demographically and economically.

But, what’s to prevent the CAUSE from beginning the insanity anew at some future date?! The (((cause))) is the alien presence and ideology of jews. If they are taken out of the equation, permanently, then natural ethno states will ensue. It is (((THEY))) who have foisted all of this unnaturalism upon our lands and cultures…. opened our gates and preached the lies of egalitarianism. How is Calexit supposed to guarantee that the rest of USA is explicitly White? Obviously It does not. Besides, isn’t it an open invitation for everyone to come and carve out what he finds desirable ?

What most people don’t really realize is that Whites are the only people in USA who don’t have a distinctive territory where they are indisputable majority, except perhaps to some extent Northwest. Ultimately, they will be gradually dispersed as Serbs were in Kosovo, or Arabs in Palestine.

The only precondition for Whites to negotiate any separations is for them to have already established their own indisputable territories, and then to negotiate about what they would cede for sake of practicality. Current legal and political system doesn’t give whites any leverage whatsoever. In fact, Whites are being more and more disposessed even of basic private property, such as land and homes, which end up in hands of Jews, Chinese, Arabs and corporations.

Otherwise in theory, separatism sounds like a good idea, but it needs some basic preconditions.

Trump will go Teddy Roosevelt on the media. Any big media found to be inciting dindus etc to hysteria and violence will have their broadcasting license revoked and the big bosses of the company will be ripped out of their penthouses in the middle of the night and exiled to Guantanamo. Once accomplished, Trump will address the nation and encourage the movement of peoples and borders.

What a brilliant article by Greg.
Calexit is exactly the stimulant secession needs because any ‘white’ attempt to accomplish it would lead to police action against it’s adherents. But in the present socio-psychological atmosphere, with ‘legality’ withering before leftist ideology, an Hispanic/leftist mix will be left alone to grow. That is the real advantage of Trump’s Presidency: driving the ethnic/left mix beyond hateful rhetoric to dedicated policies alienating those recalcitrant whites who steadfastly and wrongly believe patriotism matters anymore. Then those whites too will be at last amenable to ‘Ethnic Identity’ as the primary social organ as opposed to nationalism.
All the other factors mapster68 points out, however relevant, are historically transient. Once we as Whites identify and organize our own territory our virtues will come to bear. Law and Order, economic proficiency, scientific progress, will quickly lead to military capability. Inevitably, our growth in population coupled with the righteous anger over the historical fraud that robbed us will come to bear. Ridiculous humanistic emotions will be discarded and Blood and Iron will return to us what is rightfully ours.
We must look at this time as Bismark did Germany in 1860 – a welter of petty states waiting for a guiding hand to turn our new white nation into a fist.
