I am writing this after 48 hours of detainment with little sleep and bad food (honestly, I would have preferred lutefisk). I want to let everyone know that I am in good health and in good spirits. I was treated with the utmost courtesy and professionalism by the Norwegian police, who were “just following orders” that were apparently cooked up in close collaboration with Communist or “antifa” smear-merchants.
I was cut off from the outside world for nearly 48 hours, until Monday morning. Except for a brief phone call to Frodi Midjord to help the police gather all my luggage, I was allowed only to communicate with the police and my lawyer’s assistant. I couldn’t read the news or contact people who were worried about me.
When I was finally given my phone back Monday morning, I actually knew less about my situation than many of my friends who were following the press. I did not know, for instance, that when I asked for a lawyer, the man who took the case was J. C. Elden, who is a celebrity in Norway. I will write out more detailed reports when I have a chance to read press coverage and confer with my lawyer.
I am very touched by the hundreds of messages of support that I received, and more than a little amused by the hate mail. I will answer all the supportive letters. I will read some of the hate mail out on my next podcast.
I have also been asked for interviews and comments from many news sources. I am going to say “yes” to most of the alternative news sites, but I am saying “no” to any mainstream news platform that uses the dishonest smear “white supremacist” to describe me. I have made it very clear why I reject this term (see here and here), and there have to be consequences for the journalists who are dishonest — or simply lazy — enough to use it.
I am now home. Originally, I was to have been deported, but I was also told that I was not banned from Norway and could return the very next day if I wanted. I was informed that a deportation flight had been booked for Monday morning. Then, on Sunday night, I was told that I was free to go at any time and could book a flight anywhere in the world. But apparently there was not enough time to do this, or this decision was overruled, because I was not given the opportunity to book such a flight. I was also told that if I wanted, I could simply stay in Norway to appeal my case.
Since I wanted to go home, and since the deportation flight was the quickest and cheapest option (it was paid for by the Norwegian government), I took the flight. I also thought it would be an interesting experience — and it was. I can highly recommend being deported from Norway. It is infinitely better than normal air travel, true V.I.P. treatment: no long lines at security, no crowded departure lounges, no endless queues, first on and off the plane, people driving you to and from the terminal, etc. But, as I understand it, I was not really deported in a legal sense.

I am happy you got back home in good health and optimistic. All the best.
I think this misstep by the enemies of free-speech and freedom of association will hugely back-fire…
Best of luck Greg! You’re an inspiration to young white people in America who are worried about demographics and fear being ostracized/doxxed for wrongthink.
Thanks so much.
Another news from Scandinavia.
The madness of our corrupted “elites”.
6 Islamic extremists deemed danger to Sweden allowed to remain in country on ‘humanitarian grounds’
https://www.rt.com/news/472639-sweden-muslim-extremists-expel-humanitarian/
Yes, but everybody has got used to the madness in Sweden. So it’s much more surprising when these attacks against Greg and Scandza happen in Norway and Denmark, which are usually regarded as much saner than their eastern neighbor.
I’m hoping this despicable thing will boomerang on the anarcho-tyrants and have propaganda value for us. What I’m dying to hear about: Did GJ get to discuss or clarify his views with Norwegian police or other officials or functionaries? If so, he may have reached a wider audience than he would have by speaking at Scandza, whose attendees already agree with him. What a triumph that would be.
What a bizarre experience. Not being deported from a country in which you were not arrested by the police who detained you, then being invited to remain.
Yeah, well put. We are in clownworld.
Would you think Trump would go out of a limb for Greg a true patriot, the way he did for A$AP? Don’t be fooled people, the entire charade is most likely orchestrated by the State Department, and Trump probably approved it, to please his certain ‘allies’.
Of course Trump would never breathe a word about my unjust arrest. But he saw a political upside to standing up for a black rapper, to burnish his anti-racist credentials and woo black voters who won’t vote for him in any significant numbers.
The rest of your remark is just speculation being passed off as fact. We don’t allow that here.
Maybe. However, we are still dying from opioids, illegal immigration is at its highest in a decade, we are still terrified of offending the Left, censured on social media. Trump is behind ‘red flag, crime-preemption (preventive measure a pretext for your arrest) laws, DEATH penalty for a white defendant. But we have an embassy in Jerusalem, and yes the unemployment rate for blacks and Hispanics is at its lowest. How much has really changed since your 2015 lecture Making Our Ideas Viral?
Fortunately, this collaboration between the Norwegian state and the Communists/Antifa will not turn out the way they had hoped. On the contrary, it will help many Norwegians to wake up.
Even if the Norwegian mainstream media claims that Greg has praised Breivik, some articles are fairly balanced. One of those who have been interviewed is the extremism researcher Lars Gule who is very critical of the arrest:
Extremism researcher Lars Gule does not think much of Johnson and his way of thinking, but is still very critical of the arrest and expulsion of the American right-wing extremist.
– This was a serious encroachment upon freedom of assembly and expression, says Gule to NTB.
– There are probably many anti-racists and people on the left who say that this is good, but it is mindless. This is censorship, who knows who the PST [Police Security Service] will stop next, he says.
– People should be punished for what they have done and said, after they have done or said something …
– It is not a criminal offense to praise Breivik as a hero, but it is a criminal offense to encourage violence, says Gule.

Lars Gule was also interviewed by the state television NRK on the same topic:

Sure glad Greg Johnson is back safe and sound. The whole episode shows the cleverness of the white mind — first of all, not going ‘ghetto-ballistic’ on the police, and second, taking the ‘deportation’ flight which saved CC a cool grand! Greg knows when to ‘hold ’em and when to fold ’em’!
Thanks. Like I said, being deported is the best air travel experience I’ve ever had.
If anyone can leverage this nonsense for the cause, it’s Mr. Johnson.
Welcome back!
I will definitely try.
My thoughts exactly. Let’s display our persecution openly, as the Christians did.
I am so very glad that you are free and in good health.
To you as an American, the harassment you experienced from the Norwegian state’s legal apparatus should serve as a bitter taste of how Americans of European extraction may one day be treated in the land your forefathers built, if and when your political enemies succeed in undermining the 1st and 2nd amendment.
I saw a lot of support even from people who in the past had been very negative toward counter-currents. Andrew Anglin wrote some funny stuff on the Stormer in his usual style.
Also, are there any badass photos of Greg in handcuffs, in good old Francis Parker Yockey tradition?
Never got handcuffed.
Greg Johnson is now a household name in Norway. It’s been in the press every day, and Elden is the most famous lawyer we have.
Yes, traffic from Norway has taken a huge jump in the last few days.
This attempt to prevent Norwegians from hearing the ethnonationalist message has backfired rather dramatically.
I am looking for someone to create a Norwegian translation of The White Nationalist Manifesto. One is already out in Swedish.
Good that you’re back, safe & sound.
Looks like this whole adventure can be filed under ‘T’ as in “There’s no such thing as bad publicity.”
I hate flying nowadays. On a return flight to Los Angeles from Tennessee, I had two suits packed in my luggage. When I arrived back home in L. A., I found that my suitcase contained only one of the two suits.
Apparently, somebody at the airport baggage handling in Tennessee decided they needed that suit more than I did.
Regards,
Roy J
Thanks but there really is such thing as bad publicity.
Welcome home, sir.
I will be increasing my monthly contribution and encourage others to do the same.
Now I have to try Lutefisk
Hi Greg,
Maybe have your phone and laptop inspected by a security expert. Or am I being too paranoid?
Already done. No, suspecting the worst is not paranoid. Believing the worst without evidence is paranoid.
Good to hear. Though the situation is not good, I am glad they returned you to an upright position and are safe and healthy back home.
Our pathetic enemies: The stranger their behavior (as in this episode), the more incoherent and intellectually bankrupt they show themselves to be. Go Greg!
You have handled this with inimitable good humor and charm. Perfect!
Nevertheless, misrepresentation by the mainstream media has done serious damage. That’s where Mr Elden comes in. If he can win the case and permanently discredited the linking of White Nationalism with White Supremacy that will be a a major breakthrough: media lies will then be actionable. The implications are enormous. Fingers crossed that will happen.
On a personal note, you have again proved the establishment has reason to fear your intellectual worth and integrity.
Welcome home and best wishes for the future.
I’m glad you’re well.
Happy to see you in good health. I was one of the Norwegian attendees to the conference and I was a bit let down when I heard you were arrested since I did very much enjoy your speech on the Scandza in Stockholm a year and a half prior. I can report that the atmosphere in the conference was good and everything proceeded normally. The Antifa even got themselves removed from the premises because of their own stupidity.
“I can highly recommend being deported from Norway.”
Is that like when Carl Jung “recommended” the Gestapo?
Glad to hear that you are a more-or-less free man again!
Right allusion but wrong psychoanalyst. I was thinking of Freud. Maybe I should say “Close, but no cigar.”
I got a signed copy of Greg’s book at amren. It was pretty cool having a signed book from political prisoner. Nonetheless, glad he out. Excellent street cred:)
Welcome back, Greg.
Ironically, this NYT piece serves as a pretty good plug for Counter-Currents: “Mr. Johnson is a prolific white nationalist writer who has published dozens of books through his publishing house, whose website attracts well over 100,000 unique visitors a month, according to SPLC.”
I’m happy you’re back and that you seem to have weathered your ordeal and come out of it standing tall and unbeaten.
“. . .[T]he Norwegian police, . . .were “just following orders”. It seems a lot of Police around the once civilized world: the US, the UK and Europe have “just been following orders” lately (politically motivated orders given by corrupt chiefs of police, mayors, etc., to turn a blind eye and “stand down” as innocent people have been physically savaged and/or legally persecuted for defending themselves or persecuted for their non-violent opinions and speech. The elites use their useful idiots (psychopaths) to terrorize people from gathering and speaking out as they expect when people see that the police will just turn a blind eye to violence allow them to be brutalized people will finally give in to the elites and what they want.
Victims and their families are further threatened by the authorities with hate crime laws if they dare attempt to legally complain against all of the illegality the police have turned a blind eye to as we’ve seen in places like England. In fact the UK and other countries in Europe already have laws written and in place to enforce their anarcho-tyrannies. Laws against criticizing and critiquing policies, groups, etc.
I seem to recall that phrase “just following orders” wasn’t a legitimate defense in the various trials following WWII and more than a few men and women in the aftermath found themselves in prison or judicially sentenced to swinging on the end of a short Polish rope in spite the fact they were “just following orders”.
So glad you are back. I was with my Sis in Atlanta and we were really concerned. We should all be alarmed at this type of action as any of us could be attacked for any reason. My Norwegian ancestors are rolling in their graves! My Hungarian husband, Geoff says hi and also glad you are free.
Jarlsberg is not processed cheese, it is a premium brand of Swiss cheese. A slice of bread with cheese is what everyone from prison guards to business executives to ministers and parliament members pack for lunch in Norway. They gave you the same food that they would eat themselves. There is no reason to complain about that.
This is very important to us. We descend from poor fishermen and farmers. And we are very conscious about where we come from. Complaining about the food is as putting shame on us for our history as a poor nation.
(Asylum seekers often make complaints about the food, and many people, especially the ones trying to help them, get very upset about that.)
Please know better.
This strikes me as thoroughly dishonest. Norway is a very rich country, with excellent though expensive food. I doubt very much that business execs, parliament members, and prison guards make meals of three slices of stale bread and three cellophane packages of cheese slices. Nor was there seemingly any scheduled time when these scant provisions were delivered.
I will try this bread with cheese of which you speak and judge for myself…
