Health warning: guest has terrible sound quality.
Your guest sounds like a young Kevin Macdonald.
I have to admit, I listened expecting to heavily disagree with Andrew, but he’s correct in virtually all of his assessments. “Childfree” is a loaded term and all of the people I’ve met who identify with it are the kind of people who ought to have kids but won’t because they’re selfish and want to live cosmopolitan lives unburdened by the responsibilities that having a child imposes. These are the kind of people who refer to themselves as “dog moms.” South Korea is set to implode with one of the worst TFR levels that’s ever existed. Orban saw the writing on the wall and incentivized Hungarians to make more Hungarians. The right people aren’t having kids and the wrong people are. That’s a huge problem and it’s one that will have awful repercussions for us. Disincentivizing bad people from reproducing is a laudable goal, but we need to incentivize good people to reproduce. I’ve done my duty and have had kids. As the saying in our sphere goes, “white people don’t breed in captivity.” There was a Trump baby boom from his first term of office. I bet there will be another one. We need a prosperous nation before responsible people will be encouraged enough to have kids. One of the large problems for white fertility is that there’s a “checklist” people feel compelled to complete before they’re comfortable bringing kids into the world. Between getting a good education, a good job, and buying a house, many people are deep into their 30s before they start trying to have kids. That leads to a lot of problems.
That was a concern for me as well. If the program’s conditions were up to me, I’d limit eligibility to people with serious hereditary conditions, those with low IQs, unfit parents (such as convicted child abusers), drug addicts, and incorrigible race mixers. Society has more than enough of all that; the program is a good start, but barely a drop in the bucket at this point.
On the other hand, people who prefer a maximal bougie lifestyle over having a family might change their minds later on. They could get implantable contraception that wears off after five years.
