Metapolitics in Germany, Part 1:
An Exclusive Interview with Frank Kraemer of Stahlgewitter
Ondrej Mann
Part 1 of 2 (Part 2 here)
Frank is now 46 years old and has been politically active for more than 30 years. He was once more active in politics, but since 2016 he has been exclusively engaged in metapolitics. Frank is a musician in two bands, Stahlgewitter and Halgadom. Stahlgewitter plays Right-wing rock, while with Halgadom he finds inspiration in Pagan Metal and Neofolk. Unfortunately, however, Frank has no time for music at the moment.
At the end of 2018 Europa Terra Nostra published his book Werde unsterblich: Rechte Metapolitik als Lebensphilosophie (Become Immortal: Right-Wing Metapolitics as a Philosophy of Life). He is currently working on his second book.
Since 2016, Frank has mainly been making videos. He tries to cover a wide range of topics with various partners — everything from the occult and spirituality, to health, to criticism of the ruling anti-elite.
If you’d like to check out his work, you can do so at Der Dritte Blickwinkel (The Third Angle).
Ondrej Mann: Your band is named after the famous novel In Stahlgewittern (Storm of Steel) by Ernst Jünger. How is this author perceived in Germany nowadays? What do you appreciate most about him?
Frank Kraemer: Ernst Jünger was a very multifaceted personality. For example, he cultivated a friendship with Albert Hofmann, the inventor of LSD; wrote literature; and received awards such as the Pour le Mérite (1918), the Grand Federal Cross of Merit with Star (1977), and the Shoulder Ribbon (1985). In 1982 Jünger received the Goethe Prize, which caused quite a stir.
In his 102 years of life, he lived through two world wars — two major defeats — and yet remained unbroken. I think that in these days, where wokeness and feminism prevail, and everything is labeled toxic that still has remnants of masculinity, his spirit is a shining example. As a person, however, he is hardly noticed by the public, and among the younger generation, almost no one knows him, unfortunately. His character and way of life do not fit in at all with the current zeitgeist. It would be the task of schools and universities to recount his life and give him the place on the heroic table of history that he deserves. But then they would have to admit that a certain heroism is something good after all.
I discovered your band when my friend, the book publisher Pavel Kamas, recommended it to me. Pavel listens exclusively to classical music. He wrote to me directly: “I’m a lover of classical music. In my teens and during my turbulent youth I listened to all kinds of music — rock, punk, metal — but I gradually abandoned these genres. Sometimes, once a year or so, I listen to old hits by Böhse Onkelz or Stahlgewitter. Almost daily, however, I listen to the triune deity: Mozart, Beethoven, and Bruckner.“ That’s a testament to your band‘s great lyrical and musical qualities. Do you also listen to classical music? Do you have any favorite artists and musical works?
Thank you for these great words! My taste in music is broad. I listen to Neofolk; Black, Death, and Thrash Metal; Metalcore; a little Electro; and also classical music. I listen to the appropriate music depending on my mood.
When I was younger, I had music on almost all the time. Now it’s limited to when I am driving to work or working out at the gym. I absolutely recommend the German band Any Given Day with their new song “Get That Done.“ I also like Memphis May Fire, who compose very guitar-heavy music.
You said in an interview that the Germans of today are the continuation of an endless chain of their ancestors. This means that contemporary Germans are also the successors of Schiller, Goethe, Arno Breker, Bach, and so on. Is there such a thing as high culture in contemporary Germany? Do you know any contemporary creators of high culture? Do you see high culture in Germany’s future, even in the nationalist movement?
The government of a nation has the duty to provide the people with quality spiritual nourishment and to ensure the continuity of those cultural achievements already created. The present government is doing just the opposite. For example, years ago I was with some friends in the town of Nörvenich. Sculptures by Arno Breker are exhibited there. The administrator told me at the time that the Royal Couple of Sweden had visited Arno Breker’s works in absolute secrecy. They were afraid that afterwards, it would be said that the Royal Couple had looked at Nazi art. Instead, degenerate art and gender ideology are being promoted in kindergarten and schools.
The potential to create great things is certainly there, but this potential is not used and is rather negated. This is a true crime against humanity.
You mentioned the Arno Breker exhibition. What kind of art do you like?
Anything that pleases my eye and represents the beauty of nature and spirit. This can be beautiful sculptures, gothic cathedrals, or picturesque works of art.
It is amazing that within one or two generations, the sense of aesthetics can be lost and give way to an unspeakable ugliness. The sterility of so-called modern architecture and the degenerate diseases that are touted as art represent the decline of modernity. This decline, however, is necessary to give way once again to the beautiful. Everything is a cycle.
What is the current political situation in Germany?
The current political situation is that after years of mass immigration and deindustrialization by the Green Party, which the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) had already heralded, as well as the inhumane COVID measures, a change of mood among the people can now be felt. The sects of climate change — Fridays for Future and others – are becoming ever more radical and attack the system’s politicians, sometimes even verbally. Dysgenic measures such as gene-manipulating mRNA vaccinations and the increase in the number of sex changes among young people as a result of transgender brainwashing will also take their toll, and are politically desired by the establishment.
It is usually to be welcomed when young people get involved in a cause. But these young people let themselves be serve the agenda of big industry and high finance, with their mendacious narratives of man-made climate change. Fantasy taxes are supposed to continue to pull money out of citizens’ pockets and force them into dependence on the state. The redistribution of wealth to the top thus continues while the middle class continues to be plundered and pushed down. I would prefer to speak of the Federal Republic of Germany as an anti-state. Big Tech and Big Pharma have taken over and represent internationalist and globalist interests, acting against the interests of the German people.
Of course, the system‘s press is resisting this change of mood and continues to try to criminalize any criticism. This is a good thing. The deeper the rifts between the people and the government, the bigger the resulting change that may take place. Everyone must decide: Are you with or against the people?
What do you think of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) political party? Can a nationalist be a part of the AfD and run as a candidate?
Parties are always only a means to an end. The AfD is no exception. There are tendencies in it that are of a rather questionable nature. For example, we must consider the party’s proximity to Israel, and the fact that it welcomes non-white migrants as members. But there are also authentic currents within the party that need to be strengthened. I therefore see it pragmatically. I don’t expect too much, preferring to be surprised if something positive happens.
The AfD has so-called “incompatibility resolutions“ which specify those individuals and groups with whom cooperation has been ruled out. Among them you can find the lll. Weg, Die Heimat, or the Free Saxons. That one does not cooperate with madmen and anti-social people is actually logical and serves social and psychological hygiene. I handle such things in a similar way. But in these cases such a demarcation is simply childish, because there are good people in each of the organizations mentioned. One does oneself no favors by submitting to one’s opponents moral standards. Then one can only lose.
On the parliamentary level, there is no other party that is more promising. But change does not take place through parliaments, and I personally work in the field of metapolitics and don’t think too much of parliamentarism.
Does it make sense to become a part of the German nationalist micro-parties?
That’s something everyone has to decide for themselves. I can imagine that most of the micro-parties know very well that they will not succeed in winning elections. Nevertheless, you can use the structures of a party for political work and do your own thing without compromising. Of course, a movement that gathers a large number of people together would be desirable. Parties also cannot be banned as easily as associations, which is why this form of organized resistance makes sense.
Why are people leaving Die Heimat (The Homeland, previously the National Democratic Party of Germany, or NPD)?
The NPD has no chance against the AfD in parliament. The AfD has a more bourgeois image, and is therefore more popular with the people. For decades, many of the NPD’s activists were closely associated with various subcultures. That has scared off many citizens.
It is also always claimed that there were and are many informers in the NPD, but I don’t think this argument is convincing. Every party is monitored to a greater or lesser extent by the secret services, and may be influenced by them.
As an attempt at a new start, the NPD recently renamed itself Die Heimat. I think it was a good idea in order to improve its own image. The path towards a citizens’ initiative would also be conceivable if electoral successes continue to fail to materialize.
How do you see the future of Germany? Where do you think nationalists should concentrate their efforts?
Things must get worse before they can get better. The shortage must become even greater in order to increase our people‘s willingness to make sacrifices and bring about real change. If the political will is indeed there, the course must be set to deport millions of foreign settlers to their home countries as peacefully as possible. Deindustrialization must be stopped and reversed. The narrative of man-made climate change must be exposed as a lie by the elites, and all the COVID perpetrators and their accomplices held accountable.
We as nationalists must make it clear to our countrymen that only with us is this change possible. To communicate this, we must use of our alternative media and cooperate with like-minded media and organizations.
Our most important goal should be to preserve our genetic folk essence. If there is no autochthonous German people anymore, then our enemies have won.
Germany used to be divided into two. Is it possible that Germany will again break up into Islamic enclaves, liberal enclaves and, say, nationalist enclaves?
So-called balkanization is progressing, and I therefore consider the emergence of such enclaves to be quite possible. Every ethnic group naturally strives for its own territory. We can already see this in the large German cities, where clans of different origins have staked out their territories and also fight each other to expand their power. The police and judiciary hardly play a role in this, since German law no longer applies in these areas. This may perhaps be the case for the next 100 years. But the main goal must be the reconquest of those areas that have been occupied by migrants.
Alex from Kampf der Nibelungen (KdN) told me that nationalists are very isolated in Germany: They can’t legally promote their events, they are constantly harassed by NGOs via lawsuits, they are attacked by antifa, and the system tries to portray them as criminals so that no one wants anything to do with them. Nationalists have to deal with enormous censorship as well. Is there any way to combat this isolation?
When possible, one can move to neighboring countries. Here and there, there is also the idea of holding events virtually. This has the major disadvantage that getting to know one other in person and networking cannot really take place.
There are also examples where isolation does not work. Fortunately, I get a lot of encouragement for my projects in my city. Whether it’s in the gym or on the street, people approach me who know my YouTube videos and tell me that they approve of them. Even Internet censorship cannot prevent us from reaching people and being approachable. Once a month I organize a trip where new people always come to meet other patriots and nationalists.
What does such a trip look like? Is it possible to join?
At our meetings we go hiking in the forest or visit cities. People often pass each other without noticing in everyday life because they don’t know each other, despite the fact that they share the same opinions. The Freundeskreis Rhein-Sieg, which is the name of my group, tries to help them to get to know each other and to network.
Basically, anyone who loves his home and contacts me can join us.
Do you use any form of psychohygiene? Personally, I think psychohygiene is crucial for nationalists.
Absolutely! Mental hygiene must go hand-in-hand with social hygiene. Each of us should pay attention to the people with whom he surrounds himself, and what spiritual food is supplied. We see what can happen to the average modern person if all the influences that surround him are consumed and internalized, unfiltered and unquestioned.
There are nationalists who despair of today’s circumstances and fail in everyday things. But we must think and act over a long period of time. We are not the beginning and certainly not the end of history. We are all like the grains of sand in an hourglass that trickles on and on. Our task has a mythical-spiritual character that outlasts us. Whoever has internalized this will never fail or despair.
What was the National Socialist Underground (NSU)? What was their goal?
The NSU was allegedly a group of three people with a circle of supporters from the Right-wing scene who shot several migrants and a policewoman between the years 1998 and 2011. They were also supposedly responsible for several bomb attacks and robberies. Beate Zschäpe, Uwe Mundlos, Uwe Böhnhardt, and their supporters have been held responsible for these crimes.
The fact is that there are many inconsistencies in testimony regarding them, as well as entanglements between this group and the various intelligence services. The NSU allegedly shot a policewoman, Michèle Kiesewetter, in the head on April 25, 2007. The intelligence services from several nations were present on the scene at the time. What were they doing there? Turkish intelligence agent Mevlüt Kar offered the alleged murder weapon to the German authorities, but was not taken seriously. Why not? Andreas Temme, an agent of the German domestic intelligence service, or Verfassungsschutz, was present for at least one of the shootings, but allegedly saw nothing. Likewise, many witnesses died shortly before they could give their testimony under strange circumstances: one burned to death in his car, another died of undetected diabetes.
These are just a few of many inconsistencies that have stuck in my mind. There are several more that make the NSU seem very dubious.
What was the Hammerbande (Hammer Gang), and why did the investigation and subsequent trials involving its members take so long?
The Hammerbande was an anti-fascist hate group that hunted down nationalists in the most brutal way. One of their victims was the Federal Chairman of the Junge Nationalisten (Young Nationalists, or JN), Paul Rzehaczek. He was a guest on my show and reported on the attack.
The head of the gang was Lina Engel, a 28-year-old student from Leipzig. She was sentenced to five years and three months in prison. On the same evening after the verdict was pronounced, however, she was released on the grounds that she was suffering from rheumatism. She is reportedly scheduled to begin serving her prison sentence at some point in the future. She has already served 30 months in prison, which will be deducted from her sentence. Three of her co-defendants have also been sentenced to a few years in prison. I cannot say at this time whether they will actually have to serve any time.
Considering that nationalists such as Ursula Haverbeck or Horst Mahler were punished much more severely merely for expressing their opinions, we can see clear sympathy by the state for the perpetrators and Left-wing extremist criminals in general. This is the result of the infiltration of state institutions by the 68ers. Sympathizers of the Left-wing extremist scene sit in the courts, the governmental institutions, and the political parties and protect Left-wing extremist criminals, or in some cases delinquent migrants.
What was the Reichsbürgerbewegung case about? There have recently been major arrests of Reichsbürgers in Germany. Personally, I find the idea that this movement was planning a coup d’état absurd.
The so-called Reichsbürger (Reich citizens) movement, or Königreich Deutschland (Kingdom of Germany, or KRD), is very heterogeneous and it contains various factions. Everything is represented there, from absolute crankery to practical solutions.
The so-called coup d’état was a joke. Some pensioners were arrested and, among other things, some air rifles were confiscated. The regime’s actual goal was to invent a Right-wing threat in order to distract from the ongoing violence and rapes being perpetrated upon Germans by migrants, which was being discussed in the media at the time. This is one of the cheap tricks used by the system’s press to cover up actual criminality and to cause problems for nationalists.
For me personally, it has always been questionable what good it does me in my daily life to know that the Federal Republic of Germany is the product of an occupation. “Might is right” is the slogan of any government, whether it is under occupation or is sovereign. If my house is searched in the morning, and I tell the cops that they are merely a private security service of the illegitimate Federal Republic of Germany, I will still get pushed aside and the search will happen regardless.
I invited a representative of the largest group of these so-called Reichsbürgers to talk to me. König Peter has actually managed to create enclaves within the Federal Republic of Germany that belong to the KRD and over which the state has little to no influence. For example, the KRD’s businesses do not pay taxes to the state. They have their own health insurance and their own bank. The state of course tries to stop this, but without success. It remains to be seen how this situation will develop in the future.

I congratulate him for his tremendous service to his folk under what certainly must be very trying circumstances.
Frank is a very intelligent and creative person. If there are more people like that in Germany, together they can do great things. Thank you for your personal bravery and determination.
I listen to Stahlgewitter music to work out. I highly recommend it.
I tried listening to Laibach while working out, and right after that I got a speeding ticket. If I listen to Stahlgewitter at the gym, the road pirates will tag me for sure.
