Archibald Bulloch Roosevelt was born in 1894 to Theodore and Edith (Carow) Roosevelt in Washington, DC while Theodore was serving as the United States Civil Service Commissioner. Archibald was named for an ancestor who had been a hero of the Revolutionary War, Archibald Bulloch of South Carolina.

Archibald Roosevelt is an important man to remember. He was a man of the Right, but he was not a populist, nor is there any hint that he was wise to the Jewish Question. (more…)

The United States Army recently overturned the convictions of 110 black soldiers for offenses committed during a 1917 mutiny in Houston, Texas. The supposed reason? Racism, of course. The Army Board for Correction of Military Records recommended this action and, on November 13, Secretary of the Army Christine Wormuth gave it her blessing: (more…)

Military mid-level management

McCormick’s military career couldn’t be replicated today. In today’s United States military, either a college student is recruited to take classes in military leadership, or an enlisted man is selected to attend officer candidate school. Then, after 12 years of service, he may be promoted to Major. At no time during those 12 years can the soldier leave the service, and he must serve in a series of specific jobs. The United States has too many ongoing military deployments. There are unnecessary military bases in Syria, Somalia, South Korea, and Niger, to name the most egregious. A solid case can actually be made for the Americans to withdraw from NATO entirely. There have also been a number of pop deployments that have been made to prop up burdensome allies, such as the US Marines’ foray into Lebanon in 1983, to get the Israelis out of a jam they created for themselves.
