The World’s Greatest Boxer Is a White Man
Apologies, oh trusted and cherished readers, because this article is a trifle late. I also beg you to forgive me for the fact that I’m straying from my usual path of chronicling all the week’s bad news.
The reason this feature is late is because this morning, as she was packing up glassware from a cupboard, Mrs. Goad asked me if I could help her dislodge a stubborn glass cup that seemed stuck to the shelf. I attempted to oblige her, but instead I broke off part of the glass, leaving a nasty gash in my right index finger.
Bloodied but unbowed, I bandaged the gaping wound and clumsily pecked out the article you are now reading. I refused to allow adversity to deter me from my mission. I displayed the sort of white-boy persistence against adversity that made the Rocky movies so popular.
Sylvester Stallone wrote the script for the first Rocky in what he described as a “frenzied three-and-a-half-day flurry of creativity” after watching a white journeyman boxer named Chuck Wepner endure a bloody beating by World Champion Muhammad Ali in 1975. It doesn’t seem like a coincidence that Rocky Balboa shared the same first name as the last dominant white American heavyweight champ, Rocky Marciano, who retired in 1956 and remains the only heavyweight title-holder in history to retire undefeated.
The last white boxer to hold the undisputed heavyweight title was a Swede named Ingemar Johannson, who was champ for almost exactly one year ending on June 29, 1960, when the black American Floyd Patterson knocked him out cold.
I was born a year after that, and my entire life I’ve lived without a white undisputed heavyweight boxing champion — that is, until last Saturday night.
Like most sports, boxing used to merely have champions rather than “undisputed” champions. What has gummed up the works, and one of the major reasons boxing has suffered plummeting popularity over the years, is that there are now several sanctioning bodies issuing their own championship belts, meaning that there can be several different boxers at any given weight class at any given time claiming to be the “world champion.”
Since it’s assumed that heavyweight boxers are able to beat everyone below their weight class, the heavyweight champ is essentially the real champ. And until last weekend, there hasn’t been an undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999, when Lennox Lewis — a black “British” man — collected all of the belts, only to lose one of them a year later when he failed to promptly fight a mandatory challenger.
Last Saturday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — whose sheikhs, in a blow to Western pride, seem to have been financing and hosting all of the major boxing matches for the past few years — two white men faced off for the undisputed championship. Both fighters entered the ring undefeated.
In this corner: Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury, a bald 6’9” behemoth who resembles the Amazing Colossal Man of 1957 sci-fi B-movie infamy. Fury was born 35 years ago to Irish Traveler parents and weighed only one pound at birth. He almost didn’t survive being born, but when he did, his father John — a pikey maniac in his own right who once spent prison time for gouging out another man’s eyes — realized his son was a fighter and named him in honor of the black maniac boxer Mike Tyson. Fury walked into the ring with a record of 34 wins and only one draw, the latter of which came against black American boxer Deontay Wilder in the first of their three fights. Fury dispatched Wilder via technical knockout in the second two fights in their trilogy.
In that corner: Oleksandr “The Cat” Usyk (pronounced “oo-sick”) a Ukrainian southpaw and former undisputed cruiserweight champion who moved up to heavyweight in 2019 seeking to become the only boxer in history besides Evander Holyfield to become unified champion in both the cruiserweight and heavyweight divisions. A southpaw with blue serial-killer eyes and a playful sense of humor, Usyk is a former Olympic medalist who took home the gold in 2012 after edging out three other finalists, all of them white. Usyk is 37 and came into the fight with a record of 22 wins and zero defeats.
Fury entered the match holding the World Boxing Championship (WBC) belt and lineal championship, while Usyk held the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), and (Super) World Boxing Association (WBA) belts. Although Fury first won several belts after defeating the Ukrainian Vladimir Klitschko in 2015, he quickly vacated those belts after ballooning up to nearly 400 pounds, binging on alcohol and cocaine, and briefly contemplating suicide.
Both boxers earned the belts they held entering last Saturday’s fight by defeating two black boxers who’d once been deemed unbeatable. Fury TKO’d the black American Deontay Wilder twice, and Usyk twice thrashed the black “Brit” Anthony Joshua.
Although we’re barely a quarter into this century, the Fury/Usyk matchup was billed “The Fight of the Century.” I remember last century’s heavyweight “Fight of the Century.” It was held in Madison Square Garden in 1970 between black boxers Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier. The people in my neighborhood wanted Frazier to win because he trained in Philly and wasn’t an uppity anti-white loudmouth like Ali was. Our wishes were granted: Frazier dealt Ali his first professional loss.

Back then, and until very recently, the idea of two undefeated white boxers vying for the heavyweight championship was an impossible dream. Hence the Rocky movies’ appeal. Those films were widely viewed as a fantasy about lost white virility.
This “Great White Hope” motif has existed since almost 1892, when boxing became a professional sport and John L. Sullivan was crowned its first lineal champ. Sullivan was succeeded by other white men until Jack Johnson, who was scandalously married to a white woman, took the throne in 1908 and held it until 1915. From then until 1937, the lineal championship fell back into white men’s hands. But from 1937 until 1949, the black American Joe “The Brown Bomber” Louis became world champ.
Post-Rocky Marciano in 1956, the only other white men to hold the championship belt in the twentieth century, and all of them briefly, were Ingemar Johannson in 1959, the South African Gerrie Coetzee (who held one of the four heavyweight belts from 1983-84), and the American Tommy Morrison, who held the WBO title in 1993 before quickly losing it and plunging into a downward spiral that led to a stint in prison and an eventual death from AIDS in 2013.
The twenty-first century has been another matter entirely for white heavyweight boxers, who’ve held most of the belts for the majority of the new millennium.
The Ukrainian Klitschko brothers, Vitali and Vladimir, started winning heavyweight belts in 2000 and managed to unify the division in 2011 when they captured all of the belts, but they never fought one another because their mother forbade them from doing so. Vitali Klitschko hung up his gloves in 2013 and became the Mayor of Kiev in 2014, a title he’s held ever since.
Vladimir Klitschko lost his championship in 2015 to Tyson Fury.
Fury was considered a slight favorite last Saturday night mainly due to the size differential: He stood six inches taller than Usyk and outweighed him by roughly 30 pounds. Although I am more closely related to Fury genetically, I was pulling for Usyk in this David-and-Goliath matchup because Usyk became champion in September of 2021, but Fury spent most of the intervening time either fighting tomato cans or finding excuses to keep ducking out of fights with Usyk.
I doubt that either Fury or Usyk understand the term “white” as Americans do. The main ethnic identity I’ve seen Fury claim is that of an Irish Gypsy whose people have been oppressed by the British for centuries. Fury even once let these words slip from his lips before one of his fights with Deontay Wilder when asked if there was a racial element to their matchup:
We’re all human beings. It doesn’t matter if you’re black, white, pink or green. We share the same blood. We are humans.
For the time being at least, Usyk identifies as a Ukrainian whose people are at war with Russia.
Since I’m a white American racist, though, I saw both boxers as white. But I’ve also wondered how and why American boxers lost their dominance. Although black American boxers won five gold medals at the 1952 Olympics, the last black American to snag Olympic gold was Andre Ward in 2004. And scanning Wikipedia’s list of current boxing world champions, I couldn’t find a single white American on the list no matter the weight class. So did Americans get weaker, or did Europeans get tougher? And regardless of the answer, why did that happen?
The Usyk/Fury fight started slowly, but as the big, bald pink bear started mauling the little gap-toothed cat in the middle rounds, it seemed that unless Usyk knocked Fury out — unlikely considering Fury’s size and the fact that Usyk is not a power puncher — I figured that Fury had it in the bag as round seven ended.
But toward the end of round eight, Usyk startled Fury with a straight shot to the nose, bloodying and possibly breaking it. And in the final half-minute of round nine, Usyk began clobbering Fury with a volley of unanswered shots that ended in a knockdown. Many analysts say that under normal circumstances, the ref would have stopped the fight right there and declared Usyk the winner by TKO, but since this was such a massive fight with so much money on the line, he allowed the fight to go the distance.
Usyk squeaked by with a split-decision win. Two judges scored the fight in his favor 115-112 and 114-113, while one judge gave it to Fury, 114-113.
Just like the classless Negro Deontay Wilder did when Fury beat him back in 2020, Fury immediately refused to accept the loss. When asked in the ring immediately after the decision, he said the judges gave Usyk a sympathy vote because he’s Ukrainian:
You know his country’s at war, so people are siding for the country at war. Make no mistake, I won that fight, and I’ll be back.
Many observers in “dissident” spheres have refused to celebrate Usyk’s win for the same reason that Fury claims the judges gave him the decision — because he’s Ukrainian. They say they would have preferred a Russian heavyweight champion.
If they’re looking for a “Russian” champ, two of the world’s best boxers right now are undefeated “Russian” light heavyweights– power-puncher Artur Beterbiev, who has won all of his fights via knockout, and Dmitri Bivol, who is possibly the world’s best defensive boxer at the moment. Those two were slated to lock horns for the undisputed lightweight championship on June 1, but it’s been delayed after Beterbiev claimed an injury. Beterbiev is a Chechen Muslim, and Bivol was born to a Moldavian father and a Korean mother.
Oleksandr Usyk is far whiter than either of those scrubs. And regardless of your feelings about the Russo-Ukrainian War, your partisanship shouldn’t blind you to the fact that the biggest political issue of them all is whether or not you’re white.
And on Saturday night, the white guy won. It was inevitable.

Great read.
The fight also featured two Christians.
Jesus Christ won the night, got the glory.
You god-botherers have to drag it into everything, don’t you? I’ve never crashed one of your prayer meetings screaming about whiteness. The difference is that anyone can claim to be a Christian, especially as a cheap and easy virtue-signal and a way to cave into peer pressure, but a DNA test can establish who’s of European ancestry and who isn’t.
Here’s Tyson Fury acting with his typical Christian humility and restraint.
Boxing is a hard, dangerous game that often leaves fighters with serious brain damage. I fought as an amateur in NYC and in the Army and was usually the only Paleface in the gym. One of my trainers, an old black heavyweight used to tell me how every black fighter wanted to break my nose, and some hated Whitey so much they wanted to kill me. It was a lot of fun, but I had prospects and could get a job. Why keep getting punched in the face? Nothing to do with Whitey getting weaker.
Nothing to do with Whitey getting weaker.
The article was about white boxers getting stronger. It was specifically about the first white boxer to become undisputed heavyweight champ since 1960. I’d have to do some digging to see when was the last time two white boxers fought for the heavyweight championship. If I had to guess, it’d be sometime in the 193os.
The only area where boxers seem to be losing ground is in the USA, but that applies to Americans of all race.
“I’d have to do some digging to see when was the last time two white boxers fought for the heavyweight championship.”
For the undisputed championship: May 16, 1955. Rocky Marciano vs Don Cockell (another Brit).
For individual alphabet trinkets, the Klitchkos fought numerous white contenders, notably the late Corrie Sanders from South Africa in 2003 and 2004. The brothers went 1 and 1 against him.
I watched the entire card and it featured several good White fighters on a great night for boxing. It is a refreshing change seeing so many good White boxers at the highest level. Fury Usyk put on a tremendous bout and the Usyk deserves the undisputed title. Another great White boxer is Canelo Alvarez whose been champ at several different weights already.
In MMA too many of the best heavyweights are White also, Did you see Tom Aspinall KO the Sergei Pavlovich.
Cheers
Great article, just a minor correction. The Frazier-Ali fight was March 1971. Good journey on the move.
I’ll place the blame on your bloody finger, but you probably meant to link the word “pikey” rather than “maniac”, which goes to a “page not found”. We’re well acquainted with maniacs around here.
How is invested in one or the other protagonist in this zionist-fianance capital war–the Ukrainians are merely set pieces against Putin, stand-in for the Czar–like a crappy sequel to Fiddler on the Roof.
No matter what side you like, either boxer is cool.
I do not see any important Zionist factor in this war, I see rather China-West war by proxy.
In Russia many boxers and almost all prominent wrestlers are Northern Caucasians, both Muslims and Christians. Typical ethnically Russian boxer is Nikolay Valuev, who looks just like a Gigantopithecus.
I very much remember snickering comments that the Rocky franchise was some white fantasy. Hollywood agreed and rebranded it as the Creed movies with a black boxer hero. What happens now?
Equally interesting is the self-abuse of these warriors. Fury gaining all that weight… Tommy Morrison denying he had AIDS, after battles denying he had HIV and submitting someone else’s blood for testing. Other sports like underwater cave divers and extreme climbing are even more grueling and lethal enterprises, with the participants dying on the job… the self abuse being the job itself. The leaders in those ‘sports’ also very much ordinary looking white guys.
I have noticed that as well. All extreme sports are dominated by White men. Even White women are more adventurous than men of other races. I’ve seen White female cliff divers, mountaineers, cave divers etc but never any non-Whites. There are the Sherpas of course but that is a matter of maintenance and duty for them, they don’t climb for fun.
He did not get the decision because he is Ukrainian. Lomachenko, also Ukrainian, has been on the receiving end of several questionable decisions. His Haney fight was counted as a loss when it was a blatant win. Fury should have stopped showboating and instead focus on being more active in the later rounds. “Brits” have been pretty shameful in regard to Usyk considering the DuBois fight a loss and also, refusing to acknowledge how one sided both Joshua fights were.
Fury should have stopped showboating and instead focus on being more active in the later rounds.
The major factor in every Usyk fight is using his superior cardio to gas his opponents – like what happened from all his fights from Bellew to Dubois. It becomes much harder to focus when your body is so tired. This left Fury open to attack from Usyk in the middle rounds as Usyk kept forcing the pace by staying on his front foot while pressing the attack; but, the gamble paid off and Usyk’s A strategy saw him through to victory.
Here is a good website analyzing the pacing strategy of Anthony Joshua and how he needs to take rounds off after about round 6 to recover.
https://boxingscience.co.uk/anthony-joshua/
Usyk’s team knew a play-boy like Fury wouldn’t be able to match Usyk’s constant cardio push (Usyk can hold his breath underwater for nearly 5 minutes). Fury has no hope of staying clicked on for all 12 rounds. If they fight again Fury will get found out again with another looping Usyk left hook eventually.
Left Usyk open to Fury’s attack in the middle rounds.*
Hmm …the man from the land of the Azov Battalion that welcomed the Germans as liberators from their Bolshevik Jew oppressors or the man whose people live like filthy Roma and was named after a Bantu thug that converted to Islam…tough choice….
Exactly my thoughts.
He still looks remarkably unbattered and handsome for a professional heavyweight pugilist.
I feel like I’ve seen a review that was something like, “Jim Goad’s pugilistic writing spills blood on the keyboard every week…”
Probably not. But with the finger injury, this week it’s likely true.

Very readable and entertaining. What are the Irish Travelers, exactly? I thought they were gypsies – and gypsies aren’t white (from India in the Middle Ages). I must say that Fury doesn’t really look like a boxer, either, as does Usyk (or the Klitschko brothers). Just a tall, big guy.
I watched that X post of the father. He and his cronies are big scary white guys, even if the father is older than I am. Why are guys like that so passive in the face of the daily racial abuse of the British by their colonizers? Whites seem to have so very little racial “team spirit”.
Oh, and the Goad DNA profile says Jim is 99.9% European. What is that other .1%? A speck of ancient Moorish, maybe?
“Gypsies” is merely a way of describing their itinerant lifestyle.
Wikipedia:
Despite often being incorrectly referred to as “Gypsies”, Irish Travellers are not genetically related to the Romani, who are of Indo-Aryan origin. Genetic analysis has shown Travellers to be of Irish extraction, and that they likely diverged from the settled Irish population in the 1600s, probably during the time of the Cromwellian conquest of Ireland. Centuries of cultural isolation have led Travellers to become genetically distinct from the settled Irish.
Regarding the .1% “Unassigned” on my DNA profile, that doesn’t necessarily imply “non-European.” It’s simply “Unassigned“:
Finally, when Ancestry Composition encounters DNA that is very widespread, like a piece of DNA that’s found in Europe, the Near East, and Asia, it will label that DNA “Unassigned.”
Such is life on the internet: One is taken to task about mitochondrial minutiae by people too timid to reveal their names. Stubbornly anonymous people who accuse the freakin’ Fury family of being “passive.” Yikes.
I think you misunderstood my comment (though I’m now 100% certain that you and I, despite being the same age, race, and nationality, would not have gotten along in high school: we’d have had different sets of friends, sat in different parts of the chow hall, sought to be on opposite sides in sports practices, etc). I was not “taking you to task” about anything, but was merely curious what that “unassigned” portion could have been, thinking it was non-European. If a DNA test revealed that I had some non-European, I would assume it would be Jewish, or else Middle Eastern (though I don’t look it).
And how did you misunderstand my point wrt the Furys? I was wondering why big tough guys like that never seem to be able to say anything about the obvious colonization of their land, and the ensuing abuse of their people, the way Muhammad Ali always aggressively defended black pride and interests (Conor McGregor did get into some “trouble” last year for speaking up for anti-immigrant Irishmen). Yes, tough Brits seem to be very passive wrt their racial dispossession; that’s obviously not the same as asserting they’re “passive” in their lives in general.
I didn’t misunderstand a word you said about the Furys. I’ll have to take your word for how you “look,” since, as has already been established, you’re too timid to reveal your name, much less your face. I’ve never seen you pass up an opportunity, though, to sanctimoniously bloviate about others being timid, “passive,” etc.—but you always do it from within the safe, warm, womblike bubble of anonymity. Many such cases. So you either completely fail to see the irony there, or you’re too dishonest to acknowledge it. I doubt that very many, if any, people who act that way have been on my side of the equation to see how it looks from the non-anonymous angle. It’s quite a sight.
Muhammad Ali was propped up by Jewish interests, blacks in general, and the entire liberal media. The Furys are only “Brits” in the sense that they were born in England. But let a single biological Irishman make a peep about racial dispossession, and they get the Conor McGregor treatment. You sort of answered your own question there, chief.
What would you, in your lordly sagacity, suggest that Tyson Fury do? Shoot King Charles? I’m all ears.
WRT my personal situation, with which you seem to be obsessed, I’ve already explained this at length some months back. I’m a single man over 60, living in an ultra-Blue city in the Bluest of states. I work in a ‘fuzzy’ field where relationships are important (ie, I’m not a plumber, construction worker, truck driver, or remote computer coder). My firm is extremely diverse as well as woke-liberal. I’m already disliked and “suspect” merely for being (falsely perceived as) a “Reagan Republican”. Why would I comment under my own name? Doing so would potentially cause me huge problems, while doing nothing to advance white interests. As you do not respect my opinions, at least note that, somewhere in the past, Greg noted the need for prowhites to infiltrate various professional sectors of society, and try to help other whites coming up behind them. That’s exactly what I do, to the limited extent of my influence.
Those of us remaining anonymous are not necessarily timid, but often shrewd. We need to build up a mass-cadre of prowhites who are as personally strong as possible. Some, like you and Greg, will be on the outside, taking the hits, but also earning the acclaim. Others will be doing what they can on the inside. The communists and other leftists always understood this two-pronged strategy, and now they’ve conquered all of our white-founded and formerly white-controlled institutions.
After a long life of off/on activism on behalf of our people (mostly in the form of fighting within the GOP for immigration restriction, though I’ve also worked directly for the restrictionist movement – something I had to leave off and paper over on my resume), activism which hurt my grad school admissions and, I think, grades, as well as cost me clients, opportunities and even female relationships, I’m at present focused on building up my retirement funds. Within five or so years, I should be able to retire comfortably to a Red State. At that point, I very much want to start doing some of my own writing, here at CC and perhaps elsewhere, and will proudly do so under my own name, especially as nothing I write will get me into legal trouble (unless the 1st Am has been destroyed – but at that point civil war will be looming, and an aged rightwing writer will be the least of anyone’s worries), nor alienate any of my friends, however much it could get me fired from my present position.
But for now, the smart move remains anonymity.
As for the Furys, I was only expressing my wish that they, and tough white men like them everywhere, would direct some of their fury at combatting racial dispossession, instead of engaging in bar brawls, or various “honor contests”, which only dissipate white energies. During the recent Floyd riots, there were occasions when white men fought back, defending statuary of our people from roving iconoclastic antifa vandals. I was living in LA during the Rodney King riots in 1992, and I helped organize a neighborhood defense force. There were multiple occasions when savages drove by brandishing weapons through car windows and threatening us with Black Power displays while screaming obscenities, at which we would display our shotguns, rifles, etc, right back at them (there were no actual altercations between us and any savages, but a shopping area near our homes was looted).
Men like Fury and his ‘posse’ should be in the forefront of leading demonstrations on behalf of persecuted dissidents, like Tommy Robinson, as well as being seen publicly supporting anti-immigrationists like Nigel Farage. There’s nothing for the moment that the diversitist regime could do to someone like Fury, esp here, but even over there, as long as he acts within the law. What, precisely, has happened to super-tough / rich / popular McGregor? If a guy like that (or Fury) can’t be expected to take the heat for speaking truth to power, who can?
