It’s Always 1939 to the Establishment

    2,406 words

    Jeffrey M. Bale & Tamir Bar-On
Fighting the Last War: Confusion, Partisanship, and Alarmism in the Literature on the Radical Right
    Lanham, Maryland: Lexington Books, 2022

Professors Jeffrey M. Bale and Tamir Bar-On have taken a look at the response to the increasingly vocal political Right in the Western world. What they found is that the establishment has used the specter of fascism as a shadow to box against since 1945. Politics is the application of the friend/enemy distinction, so shadowboxing against a phantom enemy is a good way to go about domestic politics without stumbling into a civil war. (more…)

    January 6 & Its Meaning

    2,495 words

    Julie Kelly
January 6: How Democrats Used the Capital Protest to Launch a War on Terror Against the Political Right
New York: Post Hill Press, 2022

The stampede of Trump supporters in and around the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021 was a big nothing, and a revolutionary event at the same time. The ultimate meaning and endpoint of January 6 has yet to be fully understood, but a decent overall account of the event has emerged from Julie Kelly, a reporter for American Greatness. (more…)

A Lynching You’ve Never Heard Of, Part 2

Ringleaders camouflaged by a crowd smash their way into the Santa Clara County Jail in San Jose.

    4,580 words

    Part 2 of 2 (Part 1 here)

    The Fake News

With one voice, the mass media — radio, newspapers, and newsreel reports (disseminated via motion picture theaters) — played a key role in the lynchings and their aftermath. (more…)

A Lynching You’ve Never Heard Of, Part 1

San Francisco Chronicle Extra: “Kidnappers Lynched!” Royce Brier’s eyewitness account of the lynchings in the left-hand column, “Mob Storms Jail, Hangs Slayers in San Jose Square,” won the Pulitzer Prize for Reporting.

    3,977 words

    Part 1 of 2 (Part 2 here)

Although most Americans probably equate the term “lynch mob” with an image of a band of Southern whites hell-bent on punishing their black victims, readers of Swift Justice [1992] quickly learn that dark skin and southern geography are not prerequisites for the hangman’s noose. Power, prestige, and the press played critical roles. — Book review in 5 Western Legal History 256 (Summer/Fall 1992). (more…)

    Black History Bombs:
    A Message to the Youth

    2,202 words

I spent enough time living around the corner from Philadelphia’s Italian Market to know when something smells fishy.

Black History Month is here again. But for America’s younger generation of the ascendant, it would seem that an invisible hand of supposed Caucasian persuasion has spent the early weeks of this oh-so-sacred race-themed month cracking the whip of persecution once again. (more…)

The True Face of the Feds

    1,451 words

There are many reasons to like Twin Peaks. Personally, I like the cozy aesthetic, the gentle color palette and soundtrack, and the mild way in which the first season is paced. It is a good show to drift off to sleep to, and goes great with a soft bed and someone special to snuggle up to. To view it in the daytime seems obscene to me.

I was late to start watching the show; I believe I started in January of 2021. It wasn’t “the greatest show ever,” as others hyped it to me. (more…)

The FBI Sheds Light on Who Martin Luther King Really Was

    3,903 words

Of all the towering luminaries of the civil rights movement, Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) stands out as the most notable. In fact, it’s hardly too much to say that his name was practically synonymous with the movement itself during the tumultuous times in which his presence so galvanized the country. Who could deny that his deeds changed America profoundly, and without them, that things might be much different? (more…)

    Black Excellence in Crime

    1,466 words

It’s remarkable, astounding, depressing, confounding, perplexing, and infuriating to behold the lengths to which Wikipedia will go to deny black Americans the overdue credit for something at which they truly excel — namely, crime. (more…)

    Merrick Garland:
    Non-White Supremacist

    Merrick Garland

    2,606 words

Whenever the topic of white supremacy comes up among normies, we should always ask the question, “Which do you prefer: white supremacy or non-white supremacy?” Of course, given such a stark choice, most polite company will search for a third option. “Why do we need racial supremacy at all? Why can’t we have a society in which people of all races are treated equally?” That sounds nice, but we should point out that this is clearly not the goal of the Left — especially the non-white Left. The Political Theology of the New War on Terror

    2,688 words

Those money-makers and power-seekers who would sacrifice anybody and anything — the whole world — to their personal ends. . . hide their cynical self-centredness under a noisy lip-adherence to the dogma of the “dignity of all men” . . . while bus[il]y causing, directly or indirectly, in view of their goal, the suffering and death of any number of human beings. . . When An Agent Knocks

    4,988 words

If An Agent Knocks is a guidebook written by the Center for Constitutional Rights. Although they’re a left-leaning advocacy group, they’re not the sort likely to make you run away screaming as if Cthulhu is trying to eat your mind. Actually, some of their causes may be of interest. The intended audience is those who might be targeted by politically-motivated investigations and harassment under color of law. I’ll go over the basics, and add my extensive commentary as usual. Black History Month Special
Senator Jesse Helms’ Remarks on Martin Luther King Day,
    Part One

The late Senator Jesse Helms (R — North Carolina)

    6,531 words

    Foreword by Beau Albrecht

It’s Black History Month, an occasion to celebrate the remarkable race that’s done so much to make America what it is today. With so many towering giants of history to remember, where does one begin? Looking to the past, there is Harriet Tubman; imagine Obersturmbannführer Otto Skorzeny as a black lady from Philadelphia.
