I am always keen to reread books about race and/or politics that are a decade or more old. This is not an exercise in assessing the predictions made by the writer, correct or incorrect, but in understanding what the situation was when the book was published and applying one simple principle: Given that these books inevitably deal with dysfunction of one sort or another, do we think things are likely to have improved in the time between the book’s publication and our present predicament? In the case of Jared Taylor’s 2011 book White Identity: Racial Consciousness in the Twenty-first Century (hereafter WI), the question reformulates somewhat more specifically and urgently: Twelve years on from the picture of the United States that Taylor’s book paints — and with which the United Kingdom is now catching up — are we closer to or further away from a race war?
Reviewing WI on its appearance here at Counter-Currents, Greg Johnson isolates the book’s underlying theme:
The fatal flaw of the present consensus is that only white people have become . . . deracinated, and if abandoning racial consciousness is not reciprocated by other races, then it is akin to unilateral disarmament in the face of hostile, armed enemies”.
In short, racial awareness was a bait-and-switch by means of which whites were suckered into colorblindness while the other races walking among them not only had no intention of doing the same, but now insist that skin color — not ethnicity, which is a sideshow — be the controlling factor in society. I would read Greg’s review in conjunction with this one.
There is very little rhetoric in WI, and that is its strength. The sheer volume of concisely-rendered, fully-referenced examples of the animus held by the black man towards the white man tethers this book firmly to reality, a realm where Leftists and race-hustlers fear to tread. Jim Goad, in an essay on WI, writes of a “dispassionately lean, brick-by-brick style.” This is absolutely the right critical approach. Emotive writing is best left to our enemies. They do it so well.
Taylor calmly addresses the key areas of the rapidly-warming cold race war we are currently involved in on both sides of the Atlantic. Integration, segregation, diversity, and genetics are all parsed, and thoroughly examined and illustrated. As for segregation, Taylor quotes studies showing that “majorities of whites, Hispanics, blacks, and Asians agreed with the statement that ‘people are happier when segregated.’” Whites could not honestly disapprove of that polling data.
Blacks, however, absolutely know that this is a non-starter. Blacks without whites soon flounder and self-Africanize. The tendency of black culture is entropic. On a more mundane level, blacks without white oversight also have a tendency to start putting their hand in the cash register, a black privilege which pompous fraud Ibram X. Kendi, born Henry Rogers, has allegedly been indulging in.
As for integration, that was always snake oil. Expecting less intellectually endowed, testosterone-heavy blacks to shrug off their tribal loyalties and step gratefully into a world of whiteness is like expecting an aggressive feral dog to sit on your lap for cuddles. Blacks have a hard-wired animosity toward whites which the current cultural climate is both encouraging and allowing them to express as fully as they like, without redress. Integration is not on their agenda. That’s not to say that there is not cross-pollination between cultures. Every time you see a white boy listening to rap and wearing what a friend of mine calls “West Indian leisure wear” — gold chains and teeth compris, with baggy children’s trousers round his arse and training shoes — you’re looking at integration.
It is, of course, in the black interest to attach itself to the white host without the abasement of integration, which would be to admit that white culture is superior. Taylor writes:
Black self-esteem, another goal of integration, has not improved either. Blacks generally have greater levels of self-esteem than whites, and integration seems to lower them.
Self-esteem is the outer expression of an inner valuation of one’s own worth, and can be accurate, inflated, or lacking. Black self-esteem, which is absurdly puffed-up to begin with, has gone off the scale in the 12 years since WI, aided and abetted by cultural manipulation. In 2011, blacks were generally encountered on the streets or at work. Now, it is impossible in Britain to turn on the television, go to the movies, read a magazine, or go to the theater without getting the impression that, if you didn’t know better, the UK is in fact a highly advanced African nation.
On the subject of another verbal comforter used by the elites, “diversity,” Taylor has the knack of putting an entire subject into the most compact of nutshells: “Blacks do not see the arrival of Hispanics as an opportunity to celebrate diversity.”
That should be on a T-shirt. Loving diversity is white man’s work; black people, you keep on sitting in the shade while we get on with it.
In Britain, racial tensions are triangular and exist between three groups: whites, blacks, and Muslims. Taylor examines the congruent situation in the US, where of course Hispanics largely replace Muslims. In aptitude tests of whatever variety, whites consistently outperform blacks, Hispanics, and Asians (in the British sense), and are consistently outperformed by Asians (in the North American sense) and Jews. This suggests that the aggravated animosity blacks exhibit towards whites is caused not by skin color, but the concept of ownership. And, as far as the black caucus is concerned, the rent is due. To them.
So what if white Americans built America? Blacks want it now, so whites must give it to them, along with some spending money. The fact that they have to make a fuss to get it, and it isn’t just brought to the Wakandan throne room by obedient whites and laid at their feet, is more than enough reason for blacks to despise us: “It is easy for groups who contributed little to building the modern world to resent whites.”
Taylor rarely mentions reparations, an indicator that this is a hustle which has evolved over the last decade to become the constant, mantra-like drone it is today. A contemporary theme of black grievance is the endless whining for these handouts, and white people need to explain — whitesplain, if you will — that they already had their reparations, they already got paid. Reparations took the form of the privilege of living in close proximity to the civilizing influence of white people.
Not that it was much use in civilizing those who wish to remain at the tribal level. Primitive warfare traditionally involves looting, and as I write I have just watched a video of hordes of feral “youths” (media code for blacks) looting stores in Philadelphia, clustering around retail outlets like titi monkeys in a mango tree. The rapine and violence associated with early warfare is also being taken care of by non-whites. In what sense is there not already a civil war in America?
Black crime is likewise increasingly impacting on an already tubercular economy as stores close en masse. I am not familiar with Target — and some Americans are bewildered to find there isn’t one in the UK, or even an equivalent. There may not be many in the US soon, as they have just closed nine stores, with other major retail chains planning to close hundreds more over the next year due to shoplifting. Many high street — sorry, Martin Luther King Street — brand names have already left various Democrat-run cities. The last reason they would give for these closures would inevitably be the true one: We are closing stores because of black people. The government couldn’t force you to stay in your homes to shop, so they are letting their black attack dogs do it for them.
But we must not say that the black presence does not bring benefits to American society;
[M]ilitary medics get realistic combat training at city emergency rooms. Since 2001, the Army has trained medics at Jackson Memorial Hospital in downtown Miami, where they see gunshot wounds and stabbings.

Even the blackest of clouds has a silver lining.
In any self-respecting library of race awareness, White Identity should be on the top shelf and kept close at hand. It is polemic, but it is also a work of reference, and one of its many statistical snippets has particular resonance: “In a war-time poll taken in 1943, 90 percent of Americans reportedly said they would rather lose the war than give full equality to American blacks.”
If this doesn’t illustrate the wisdom of generations long dead, I am not sure what does. American whites did give full equality to blacks, and are now losing a different war.
On the subject of war, it might be as well for whites to consider themselves as reservists, because there may well be one coming. A dozen years after Taylor’s grimly seminal work, one short paragraph stands out:
Blacks nourish and take pride in an intense, combative racial consciousness. It is only a matter of time before this gives rise to an increasingly explicit white racial consciousness.
This consciousness is slow in arriving, but its entrance will be greatly expedited if the West collapses economically.
Perhaps a race war is something devoutly to be wished. Get it out of the way. In Britain, where blacks comprise just 4-5% of the population (and most of those in England, and almost all of those in the cities), they would need reinforcements, and they would get them from the ranks of liberal whites and their antifa troopers. But, to put it bluntly, put 500 antifa up against 200 hardcore British soccer nutcases, and the nearest hospital will be seeing a lot of black-clad soy boys being stretchered in that night. This is the bit where mainstream media journalists bleat that they don’t condone violence under any circumstances. But I am not a mainstream media journalist, and so say nothing.
In a race war, whites would have to accept that their governments, media, and the authorities would be fighting for the enemy. The header quote from Jim Goad speaks to whites who reserve their genuine hatred not for blacks, who are a violent, sociopathic inconvenience, but the whites who enable them to do what they could not do for themselves. White protectionism concerning the black community is antagonistic to our societal requirements. As if the sheer imposition of blackness into white private and public lives is not enough for anti-white elites, they also run a protection racket for non-whites. Realtors in the US are not allowed to give any information to potential buyers concerning the racial makeup of the area, Taylor writes, and thus its likely crime rate. Punishment by statue removal has as its criteria for this petulant iconoclasm perceived historical crimes against blacks, and no other race. Fetal alcohol syndrome was, in 2013, 30 times higher in black women than white, although that is not their fault, but doubtless due to the stresses of living with racism. Any way you carve it up, blacks are treated as societal royalty, and goodwhites are their courtiers.
The old deflection, that “I have black friends and they’re great,” is as tiresome as it is weak. You have black friends. Wow. What do you want me to do, bake a cake? All that information tells me is that it is highly unlikely I should ever seek to make your acquaintance, as I try to act in such a way that I distance myself from blacks. That’s what real racism is, not beating the daylights out of someone with a different skin color to yours. Racism is unavoidable for racially-aware whites. The media, white liberals, and of course blacks themselves have decreed that all whites are racist, so why fight it? I am very attached to my own racism. As an early-warning system, it is essential for all white people.
White Identity is a dreadful foreshadowing, a warning for the UK. The book is an almanac of the dysfunction crafted by liberal white handlers and actioned by their black pets. Taylor quotes from an authoritative source which deals precisely with animals:
E. Raymond Hall, professor of biology at the University of Kansas, wrote the authoritative work on American wildlife, Mammals of North America. He stated as a biological law that “two subspecies of the same species do not occur in the same geographic area.”
If you put strange fish in a tank, the other fish will fight them. As we are supposedly descended from aquatic progenitors, we might make use of some of their instinctual behavior.

In one of Harold Covington’s Northwest novels there is a character called Ellwood Tolliver.
After the successful establishment of the all-White Northwest, a very bloody business, Ellwood, a White man, lives on the border but inside the old USA. Despite the ruinous and humiliated position of Whites like himself in the old country, he remains an “American” and he loathes the new White ethnostate, refusing to emigrate.
Two reasons. First, during the war, he was shot and crippled by a White partisan. But second, and more tellingly, he found the methods used by the partisans against non-Whites immoral.
To drive out all the Hispanics in the area, the White partisans killed a full busload of Mexican workers, men, women and children. It worked. The beaners, as they are called, all fled south back to their homeland. But Ellwood would rather that he and his family be abused and trashed by the White-hating American regime than to throw his lot with people who treated the brown-skinned that way. He is, tragically, a goodwhite.
Of course, it never occurs to him that the mestizos would never think of returning the favor were it his people who were so treated. His moralism traps him both in slavery to the anti-Whites and in enmity to those of his own race who would save him from that fate.
There are far far far too many Ellwood Tollivers in America.

Oh yes, probably the most famous painting by the early 19th century German Romantic painter Caspar David Friedrich, called The Wanderer (this from memory – a bit of googling will get you to the exact title – if different – of this archetypal “Nordic” [imo] painting).
