Insight like this makes me proud to support, and be associated with, Counter Currents.
It’s good to hear a reasonable voice among the rhetoric of both sides. I will remind myself to think of ‘what’s the best option/outcome for Whites generally’ in all of this, and how can this be beneficial for European nationalists.
This was a great discussion by Greg, and a corrective to much of my own thinking, as I have found myself arguing the Russian side, unwittingly it seems.
However, I believe that Greg fails to take into account the larger geopolitical picture. The simple fact is that the US is forcing a bipolar conflict against China + Russia in which it is unlikely to prevail. A much wiser policy would be to peel Russia away from China, much as Nixon peeled China away from the USSR. China is our main adversary, the peer competitor, and this simple reality should determine our policy toward Russia. Pure balance-of-power reckoning.
The best solution is a partition of the Ukraine, and the creation of a buffer zone between Russia and Carolingian Europe. Germany & France must come to terms with Russia, work out a new security architecture, and build upon their common interests. German military capabilities should be rebuilt as a “hedge” against potential Russian aggression, but with moderate ambition, as they are in no position to get into an arms race with Russia. At the same time, the US should “pivot” toward China, and move the bulk of its military capability out of Europe. A non-hostile Russia could cooperate with the West to constrain China from the north and deny it strategic depth.
Right now tensions are very high, but hopefully all parties will come to their senses and find a way forward from the mistakes of the past thirty years. We are on the cusp of a new multipolar order: one pole is China; a second is the US with its allies Japan & Australia, focused on containing China by sea; a third pole is Russia & Carolingian Europe, with Europe pulling Russian loyalties westward; a fourth pole is Iran, as rightful hegemon of the Middle East; and the fifth is India.
I fully agree with your insightful and farsighted analysis, though one has to admit that it is quite difficult for the West headed by US to reach this consensus. Peeling Russia away from China is of the best long-term strategic interest of US and the West and is absolutely desirable and necessary, but it’s also very hard to practice. Trump tried to do that and seemed almost half-way to success, until he was deposed by the combined forces of the ideological Leftists and the corrupt, Russia-hating, and China-shielding mainstream political establishment aka. the “deep state”. I am planning to write another article in full analysis of the China question and contribute it to CC to be posted by Greg, which I believe will further galvanize the critical issue and deepen the understanding of White nationalists on the nature and magnitude of the said theme, but I don’t have much free time in hand now. I will strive to complete this task whenever I can. Thanks in advance to all our CC readers for your kind attention and interest.
European Homelands from Evropa to Australia are being invaded, & on our watch.
They have to go back.
”The Slow Cleanse aka Restoring White Homelands” by Greg Johnson.
How did Eric Striker come to be such a big deal in WN circles?
When you run webzines and podcast networks and think quantity is more important than quality, Striker reliably repackages talking points from Russian, Iranian, and other anti-Western media outlets and delivers them as “hot takes.”
Speaking of China. One of the most popular sentiments of the Chinese online is: I hope the Russians kill the Ukrainian men so the women flee to China and we will have more wives.
Yes, this is true. The Chinese social APPs are overflowing with such a message, with both praises and disapproval. It indeed makes a great meme to galvanize western White nationalists to the Chinese question and the collective mindset of that particular people. By the way, the following short passage was my comment on TOO under Kevin MacDonald latest article on the Ukraine situation. To my surprise and disbelief, it failed to be posted after going through their moderation, so I would like to post it here again.
“Despite quite a few similarities between Russia and China in their common wishes to preserving/enlarging their own spheres of influence and in resisting western imposed values, there exists one fundamental difference that should keep them apart in the mind of any conscious and sober White nationalist.
This difference, and an exceedingly significant and revealing one, is that Russia, all its unique and perhaps unlikable traits notwithstanding, can be counted as part of the White Western world racially, culturally, and historically and belongs to the larger White Western civilization; while China, as an inherently alien and hostile and antagonistic people to the White race and its civilization, is hellbent on defeating, displacing, conquering, enslaving and even destroying the White nations, as long as it reckons itself having possessed the power and means to do that. Such animus and antagonism harbored by China against the White race is intrinsic, implacable and irreconcilable.”
That’s harsh but true, and truth matters more.
What happened to Johnson’s essay in Kinship, Culture, and (I forget the third)? Why was that one taken down?
We took it off the front page because the weekend livestreams are over.
Thank You Greg for this piece. It restores some faith in me that not everyone in those circles is a contrarian retard.
We have fought great war against Ukrainians 400 years ago. We had another extremely bloody conflict with them 80 years ago. The memories of both are very much alive today. Yet, some retard from across the ocean will claim they don’t exist because it wasn’t in his school curriculum.
Nick Fuentes, who seemed to be saying reasonable things till now has just stated that he supports Putin because the US government is against Putin. I mean, how dumb can you get?
Eric Striker had overall extremely negative influence on the TRS people.
Thanks to Greg I am not of an opinion that I wasted last 10 years listen to various podcasts from far away and that white nationalism can be a serious thing.
The thing that strikes me the most with American commentators, from far left to all across the center to far right is how Americanocentric they are with their analyses. Americanocentric not as a point of reference but as a point active force.
The facts are that even if USA were not a superpower, even it it were a small state with no influence, this would change nothing in the present conflict.
Even if Columbus was never born and American continent not discovered or even not existing, this would change nothing in the present conflict.
If Jews had no global power or even if they weren’t a thing at all this would change nothing in the nature of the present conflict.
If Klaus Schwab, World Economic Forum, digital currency or whatever else is your pet topic were not existing the fundamental nature and reasons behind the present conflict would be the same.
Only because those things exist and extort some influence on various actors it doesn’t mean that the conflict is about those things.
The Yemen fractions were align with cold war lines 40 years ago. Cold war is gone but the principal actors in Yemen are the same and new war is raging on. New generations of people, new external allies but the principle of the conflict is the same.
In Ukraine the principle of the conflict is also unaffected by the external forces. The principle is Ukrainian nationalism versus Russian imperialism.
This kind of thinking is why the West deserves to fail. Imagining ‘principles’ and ‘morality’ where actually pretty tangible forces with tangible goals are at play (goals which have been stated verbatim in fact, in the case of Ukraine – to be a democratic, multicultural country with ‘Western’ values, to be in the EU and NATO, aligned with Washington etc. which is to say, values that have nothing to do with White Nationalism, quite the opposite) is the kind of wishful thinking the whole present European predicament is built upon. This fanatical determination to deny the reality at all costs, as diagnosed by Nietzsche more than 100 years ago, transcends all superficial identifications.
Those who have no values will never relinquish democracy and democratic principles, for they emotionally depend on a system where one never needs to assume any responsibility – to embrace what he himself values wholeheartedly, and to reject with certainty what he loathes. This is why Putin, a corrupt leader of a corrupt oligarchy, as people say, deserves respect. Even he mustered enough strength to set aside his own sense of safety for the sake of his duty. No ‘principles of equality’ are going to convince him to abandon that.
I was surprised to hear Greg take the Ukrainian side. One thing I would like to mention is that Ukraine and Crimea were part of Russia since they were either bought or annexed (I am not sure whether it was purchase or annexation) by Catherine the Great in 1783. This remained the case until 1954 when Nikita K broke them off as separate republics in the Soviet Union. So, for Putin to take them back is just to restore traditional Russian borders. Clearly Yanukovich, a Russian friendly leader, was overthrown by some sort of American coup. Oh yes, the Ukrainians helped, but McCain was there and we have Viktoria Nuland’s phone call with Pyatt where she and he think they are going to determine the new Ukrainian leader. So, I don’t blame Putin at all for taking Crimea as there is a very important naval base there. Had the overthrow of VY not been done, Putin never would have taken Crimea. Also, it is my understanding that Crimea is overwhelmingly Russian and they voted to become part of Russia. Had the US and NATO simply stated that Ukraine will never be part of NATO, I don’t think VP would have invaded Ukraine last week.
I would much rather be governed by Putin than by Biden, Trudeau, or even Trump. Things I like about Putin are 1) he granted asylum for Ed Snowden 2) he gave a speech maybe 10 years ago where he was offering asylum to white south African farmers to avoid being massacred by blacks. I don’t know if he ever followed up on the speech; I hope he did. 3) he gave a speech last year where he claimed Russia will never have homosexual marriage.
My wife and I watched the movie “13 Days” about the Cuban Missile Crisis last night. If only we had JFK and RFK in charge of the US government now! I think they did a magnificent job in avoiding the end of the world under a much more stressful situation.
I think that present day Ukrainians should get over the Holodomor. That was 90 years ago and Putin is not Stalin. I agree that the planes invading Ukraine should not have flown the Soviet Flags.
The Cuban missile crisis was precipitated by the US deployment of Jupiter missiles in Turkey, the underbelly of Russia.

Niccolo Soldo in my opinion had the best piece written, and from the perspective of a “Slav” who views the conflict differently from the Westerner, even Glenn Greenwald twitted the article. I also see the conflict as “fratricide” and it pains me to see it happen, yet I also firmly believe Ukraine brought this upon herself.
https://niccolo.substack.com/p/fuck-it-russias-final-break-with?utm_source=url
Ukrainian President Shecky Greenberg is fucked beyond belief. (from Soldo’s article).
Anyone see the video of “Shecky” Zelensky playing a piano with his coq? Or at least pretending to; you can’t really see the business end of his performance. In any case, does a country who elected this yoyo really deserve saving? Oh wait, there’s Biden & Trudeau (on his 3rd term), etc.
I am not sure if I give a hoot anymore.
I am also a Slav and don’t like to see fratricide. All you need for that is for Russia to respect the borders they agreed upon in 1991.
But they couldn’t and got some territories in 2014. Ok, situation has stabilized, but they also couldn’t respect the new border. It wasn’t Ukraine that launched offensive to Crimea and Donieck. It is Russia that launched offensive on Kherson, Kiev and other cities.
Every country in Easter Europe has experienced multiple invasions by different iterations of Russia in the last 250 years. The reason behind this region having this or that problems, etc. if mostly one and it is called Russian imperialism.
You’re a Zionist and your opinion should be disregarded. You of all people should know Zionism has nothing to do with Nationalism or a homeland for Jews. It is about destroying all nations but the Jewish nation. Israel is a supervillain hideout from where Zionist agents can be sent around the world to control governments.
I listened to this and I think you make many good points, even though I disagree with many of them. I do agree with your assessment that Ukrainians should let the Russians take out the regime (Ukrainians should have done it themselves) and then consolidate their country.
You are correct Putin is certainly no ethno-nationalist, that is not the lens with which he views the world. However and this is whats controversial but China and Russia while of course not pro-white in the slightest is the only thing that can resist or stop some of the west’s regimes from becoming even more powerful which is our enemy. It is not ideal, the more ideal thing is if we could naturally overthrow them but the world is not so simple right now. Its definitely a very hard political world to navigate right now, there are positives and negatives with pretty much any position or move, but thats life.
Apropos of the Telegram entry regarding Russian & NATO [https://t.me/countercurrents/1761]:
And he (Putin) said, ‘I want Russia to be part of Western Europe. It’s our destiny.’
When Putin Loved NATO
https://archive.ph/lDLqa
Pro-ZOG nationalism is losing like “Never Trump” conservatism did.
Is this a joke? NATO is literally the military arm of the Great Replacement project. And as far as “Ukraine” is concerned, it’s a literal CIA client state with LGBT and BLM messaging.
I can’t believe what I’m hearing. What happened in 2014 wasn’t a “revolution”. It was a Soros-style CIA coup. This has been documented extensively. And calling Russia the white Third World is just laughable when the West is literally becoming like the brown Third World right now.
No, the Maidan was a real revolution. Donetsk and Luhansk are Russian ops though.
It seems you’re regressing into your former neocon again. I’m sure they can use someone like you in Langley.
Literally all the worst people in the world are rooting for Ukraine, and you’re on their side now…
If George Soros endorsed motherhood tomorrow, would you be opposed to it?
Yes, because there would be an obvious hidden agenda behind it.
Props to Greg for actually going there and naming the Putin shills, I for one did not expect it. CC’s Ukraine coverage as a whole has been a breath of fresh air in this sea of american populist garbage.
The fracture between euro nationalists and those who drank the american koolaid (some euros included) will get a lot worse from here on out. Expect major drama, expect infighting like you’ve never seen before.
I’m not exaggerating at all. If anything could make Eastern Euros go bonkers and hold a grudge for literally the rest of their lives, it is this: taking the side of ruskie genocidal bastards and tastelessly repackaging their cheap propaganda in the name of supposedly 4d chessing globalists. The rest of their claims about Putin being the savior of the white race and christendom are too retarded to even deserve a rebuttal. And to top it off, their latest cope is that this was about biolabs all along.
At what point is it safe to say these people have been lost to Alex Jones land for good? There’s already more than enough material to make the case for it.
To give you an idea about how well the mending of euro yank dissident right relations will go in the future https://twitter.com/ianbateson/status/1501273278291267590
At most 18% of Ukraine’s population is Russian-speaking. Not all of them even identify as Russians. The myth of a significant “ethnic Russian” population existing in Ukraine was invented after 2014 to justify war.
