Though power has diffused economically—China manufactures, India grows, and the Persian Gulf invests—the blueprint of civilization remains unmistakably Western. The way nations govern, innovate, and even express sophistication continues to bear the mark of Europe and North America.
Consider the roots of the modern legal order. The concept of the trust and the principle of habeas corpus—both born in England—remain foundational to how societies define rights and property. The trust allowed the separation of ownership from control, a subtle legal instrument that enabled everything from the rise of joint-stock companies to complex financial institutions. Habeas corpus, meanwhile, enshrined the radical idea that no one could be detained without lawful justification. Together, these English innovations transformed liberty from a moral sentiment into a legal reality, and created a template for due process that the world has since adopted.
Even countries that vocally reject “Western influence” end up borrowing Western institutions. The entire intellectual property system, including copyright, patent, and trademark law, was created in the West to reward creativity and invention. Today, these frameworks are global norms. Asian and African nations may brand their policies as “indigenous innovation,” but their legal codes are modeled on Western precedents. The modern startup economy—whether in California or Shenzhen—operates within a Western legal structure of property rights and contract enforcement.

The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program, created in the United States in the early 1980s, revolutionized how governments support entrepreneurship. It used public funds to foster private innovation, particularly in high-risk technological sectors. Decades later, countries from South Korea to Brazil and even Turkey have adopted similar models. Likewise, the regulatory sandbox, first introduced by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority, has been replicated around the world. From Singapore to Nigeria, governments now boast of “sandboxes” that balance innovation with oversight—an idea that traces directly to British regulatory ingenuity.
The influence of the common law tradition further illustrates this enduring power. Nations seeking foreign investment often emphasize their adherence to common law principles—or even go so far as to create specialized commercial courts that apply English common law. The reason is not sentimentality but pragmatism: investors trust the predictability, neutrality, and sophistication of a system born in England. It is telling that the world’s most dynamic financial centers—London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore—are all rooted in common law traditions. Even those who criticize the West’s colonial past still rely on its legal offspring to secure their prosperity.
Beyond institutions and policies, the West continues to shape global culture. Despite decades of “decolonization,” daily life across the world remains profoundly Western in style. Business attire, from the tailored suit to the Oxford shoe, was not invented in Asia or Africa. The etiquette of eating with a knife and fork, the architecture of parliaments and universities, the symphony and the museum—all bear Western fingerprints. The very notion of “high culture”—art galleries, classical music, academic credentials—is defined by Western taste and structure. Even the global entertainment industry perpetuates Western standards of beauty, glamour, and narrative. For example Bollywood and Nollywood are non-Western replicas of Hollywood.
Critics often claim that Western civilization has lost its vitality. Yet the evidence of vitality is everywhere. The West continues to set global intellectual and technological trends. Its universities dominate the global rankings. Its cities remain magnets for ambition and reinvention. And most tellingly, despite endless moral posturing about “Western decadence,” people from every corner of the world still want to live in the West. They risk their lives to reach Europe or North America—crossing deserts, seas, and borders, sometimes illegally—because the West still represents freedom, opportunity, and order. No one risks their life to sneak into Venezuela, Russia, or China. The migration patterns of humanity tell the real story: whatever its internal crises, the West remains the world’s desired destination.
The non-Western world has achieved, but it has not matched the unique energy of the West—the restless curiosity, institutional flexibility, and individualism that continually renew its civilization. Western societies reinvent themselves precisely because they are built on freedom: the freedom to question, to criticize, to innovate, and even to doubt themselves. That self-critical spirit, often mistaken for weakness, is the very reason the West has endured.
Far from being a relic, the West remains the beating heart of the modern age. Its institutions organize the global economy, its culture defines modern life, and its cities remain symbols of aspiration. Others may imitate, adapt, and hybridize, but the source remains unmistakable. The world has not outgrown the West—it has only learned to live within its shadow.

Yes, civilisations influence each other. It has certainly been the case in Eurasia, here is a nice clip that exemplifies it.

The West as we know it now is Jewish and antiwhite domination over Whites. This domination is not only economic and political but cultural and diplomatic. It is also demographic, as Whites are reduced to withering minorities in our own countries.
All of this is a very bad thing. We Whites have no stake in it.
When we talk about our vital interests we should talk racially, about Whites and how we want Whites to survive and flourish. We should talk about defeating White genocide and the institutions that promote it.
When we give our praise and loyalty to “the West” we do an unwise thing. We have to take our own side, not the side of the antiwhite. Zionist, feminist, anti-straight, hostile establishment that rules over us and is corrupting us and destroying us.
Must we be miserable all the time?
No, but we should be realistic at all times. This article was written wearing rose-colored glasses, looking back fondly at past influences. Yes, the West has been tremendously influential while at the height of its strength. But now the power of the West is rapidly waning. People imitate strength and things that work, not weakness, and the West no longer even has the will to defend itself. The Jews have largely taken charge of the West, at least in the US. Jews may have a developed a Western veneer, but at heart they are not a Western people. The BRICS countries are emerging and creating an economic world that is anti-Western. Russia, China, and others look at the liberal sewers that Europe and the US are becoming and want no part of it. The people coming here view our nations as carcasses to be plundered or as weaklings to be colonized.
The sooner that we realize that the West must be built anew, the better. And it cannot be rebuilt by a brown-grey glop or anybody else, but only by Westerners. Otherwise, it will not be the West.
It’s not all bad news; we have repeatedly risen anew to dominate the world, and we have a wonderful cultural legacy to build upon. And, once our minds are freed from the propaganda, we will once again become a very formidable people.
Let’s be clear, the historical and proper definition of Western Civilization is:
Europe and what Europeans have created. This includes the Anglosphere, because whether colonial or continental, it was all created by Europeans, meaning White people.
So this gives us the answer as to what ails Modernity; it must become more European, i.e., White.
If we can’t systematically remove Joos and non-Whites from crucial positions of power, then Western Civilization really will become a shadow of its former self, and a carcass for some other predator to enjoy.

Civilization (taken as a verb) points to where a people/culture/state are headed. Way too many years ago the dominant civilization was Europeans/white. Now it is jewopean/jewmerican. Cultural values (the measures of what is coming into being) have corroded, leaving behind noble/spiritual/familial/traditional-high trust and turning towards an ugly economic/atomistic/anarchistic/soul-less miasma that dehumanizes.
There is blatant admiration and respect for Western culture in China. They have built many replica European cities of cultural importance. Tens of millions of Chinese students study piano and violin to play classical music—their interest eclipses that in the West. They copy our technical innovations.
Since the Chinese are very ethnocentric, it may be wise to enlist them as allies. They should be able to realize that you can’t cook the goose that laid the golden egg.
And since Western Europe’s goose is almost cooked with uncontrolled immigration, maybe the Red Chinese could help us with some of our “Chechens” and “Tibetans,” so to speak.
As time went by, Non-western worlds tend to be more and more autistic, until the western open the doors all over the world.
On the other hand, during the modernization, western “antichrists” like durgs, commies and left liberals also found their “underworlds” to escaped out, and build their roads of the globalization to come back. If not, conflicts would be fewer now.

I’m coming around to realignment with China against Russia anyway but I don’t see why Tibetans shouldn’t have an independent state like the Mongolians. Don’t they also have a proud warrior tradition?

One has to question whether they like western culture in itself, or for the power and wealth it produces, and the power and wealth it’s associated with. And if western societies were seen as poorer than their Chinese society, they’d express utter indifference or even contempt. The Chinese have an insane status obsession and love for money, they pray to gods for money and to better gamble all the time. A Buddhist monk showed me through a new temple that got built here, and with a smile on his face was telling me to go pray to Guan Yu for better odds gambling, “It works for me”. This is the norm for them, the SEA diaspora ones just pray to their gods for money like crazy. A Chinese comedian has a full skit about how blacks in the ghetto with their rap songs praising money have nothing on his people’s love for money. If whites become poor, that admiration could very easily turn to contempt.
When the Brits were trying to get China to open up during the Qing era, and sent entire ships filled with new technology to show off. The Chinese, still confident in themselves as the best, expressed utter indifference, and disregarded the technology as trinkets. The only thing they really expressed a love for was the chamber music band that got sent, which suggests their love for classical music runs deep. But for the rest, it shows that their interest in western culture could be entirely superficial.
Even their Pinkerton syndrome (their tendency to view whites as superior) has declined somewhat as they’ve become developed. There’s a domino trail of East Asian countries becoming developed enough that the sex-pest English teachers have had to migrate off to one poorer, like rats, they’re chased out to the next house. They’ve been pushed off to Vietnam as of now, they see some poor bohemian English teacher living week to week as just some schlub, he’s not getting the attention he got in the 20th century.

Does anyone remember or know about the Chinese entrepreneur who legally changed his name to Mo Money 12 or so years ago (in China, not the US)? I thought it was hilarious when I read about him in some mainstream magazine like Smithsonian. The article was full of praise and not once mentioned the obvious reference to black slang. It was written as if by a space alien who arrived on Earth two hours before writing the piece.

Fair enough. Western ideas and principles have informed the modern world, a world that all peoples want to be a part of. But contemporary Western people have lost faith in those ideas and principles, and in themselves. They have allowed, nay, encouraged, Third World migrants to invade the nations that their ancestors built. The future does not appear bright for them.
