Emma West and son: Somebody has to "talk up" for England

I saw the new film My Week With Marilyn the other night. I’ll leave it to Trevor Lynch or someone else to give the film a proper review, but what I’d like to focus on here is the recent spate of films and TV shows that hark back to the late fifties and early sixties. In the case of My Week With Marilyn, it looks back to 1956 in England, and recounts the experiences of a young Colin Clark working on the set of The Prince and the Showgirl. The film is very well done, and seems especially celebratory of that era of British culture.
In the United States, this trend was inaugurated by the excellent AMC series Mad Men, of which I am eagerly awaiting the fifth season next year. That series takes place in New York in the early 1960s, which is essentially the same cultural moment as the 1956 England of the film. In both cases, the triumph of the Second World War is still the dominant feeling in the air, and the cultural madness of the mid and late sixties has not yet arrived.
The film and the television series both showcase the wonderful fashion and sensibilities of that era. The men wore suits and the women dresses, and they knew how to act like ladies and gentlemen, in public at least. For someone like myself who was not yet alive then, it conjures up immense nostalgia for a time that seems far better than the present, and judging by the popularity of Mad Men and now films like My Week With Marilyn, I am not alone in this feeling.
But there’s something else. It’s not just the suits and dresses, the manners, and the cute now-outdated technology. It’s the whiteness. And it’s not just the whiteness — it’s the whiteness devoid of modern self-consciousness and self-loathing. It’s whiteness in unconscious affirmation of itself. I submit that the popularity of that time in history reflects an unacknowledged but deep-seated longing among white Americans and Europeans for a time before mass immigration and cultural Marxism destroyed both their outer and inner worlds.
Consider the recent incident in which a British woman was recorded on a train lamenting the present state of Britain.

“My Britain is fuck-all now,” she says. She means the Britain of her ancestors. I’m sure this video will receive wide-spread attention on Counter-Currents and other New Right sites in the coming days, as well it should, because it’s iconic. She will be demonized and despised by all the talking heads. But millions of people around the world will know in some part of themselves that she is right, and that she is speaking for them, who will not speak up for themselves.
I imagine this woman seeing My Week With Marilyn, and seeing an England populated by English people and English culture. Sure, it’s Hollywood and it’s exaggerated, but it makes her think back to her childhood, which was not nearly so glamorous as the film, but also not nearly so bad as the present. Then, looking around her on the train, she sees the contrast to her memory and her history in the images before her. An England no longer English, but rather populated by non-English of various hues and cultures. Of course she’s disgusted.
Personally, I dislike expressions of vulgar racism and mistreatment of people merely because of their appearance or ethnicity. I find it unnecessarily mean and ignoble, not to mention cowardly and unjust in many cases. But I am not bothered by this woman’s outburst, even though she is directly addressing people of color in the train with her. Why not? Well, for one, she is alone and risking life and limb to speak her mind. There is an element of fearlessness in her that is admirable.
Second, if I try to put myself in the shoes of the non-British on the train, the various Africans and others, I would be forced to see her point. Third World immigrants in Europe and America are an occupying force, comparable in some respects to American soldiers and contractors in the Middle East. If I were there, and a local shouted at me, “You are not Arab! Go back to where you came from!” I would have to agree. It’s important to remember that, just as most soldiers are not aware of how they are being used as an occupying force, neither are most immigrants. They are simply trying to make the best of their situation for themselves and their families. But none of that changes the bigger picture.
As of this writing, the BBC reports that this woman is being arrested for racism. In America, the First Amendment still carries just a little more weight, but not that much, and its days seem increasingly numbered. Or rather, the right to free speech will stay on the books, but thought will be so totally controlled that no one will even think to say anything outside the acceptable discourse in the first place. Soon movies like My Week With Marilyn and shows like Mad Men will no longer be made as they are now, and will instead feature re-written history with multi-cultural casts, politically correct dialogue and themes, and the next generation will have no idea that the world was ever any different than it is. Welcome to the future. The past is fuck-all now.

So all Britons today are responsible for the crimes of Churchill, the Jewish colonizers of England, and their allies? What is it about white people — this surfeit of punitive moralistic aggressiveness directed primarily, if not entirely, at other white people?
The Jews were in no way a dominant group in 1930’s Britain (if you want evidence, the British siding with the Arabs in Palestine should be enough). The woman is right. Whites are treated like garbage, left unemployed and foreclosed on while the socio-parasitic minorities get the handouts, cause riots, looting, raping and murdering our people. How about a display of British solidarity? How about a national tell an immigrant to sod-off protest? They can’t arrest everybody, can they?
How did they track her down? The vaunted effects of “social media” — touted by fools as a panacea for Right-Wing ghettoization — which make every man a deputy of Big Brother.

Carl, you misunderstand the underlying message of my article. I am talking about the portrait of a culture that is painted by these films and tv shows, not the actual historical period with all its political intrigues and whatnot. I am talking about why people like that portrait.
If you want to get mad about the romanticization of that period, blame the tv and movie people, not me. What interests me are the psychological effects of viewing these shows in the present, and the stark contrast between that portrait of the past and our present reality.

Did you not see the kid she was with? I mean, bravo for saying something almost no one has any courage to say but it was not her place to say it. In a land where she is can be arrested for speaking her mind is it possible the State will take her child for the same “crime?” She had a responsibility for the safety of that child first and a responsibility to raise that child with the correct worldview. It would not surprise me if we learn several months from now that this child has been adopted by a set of gay, Caribbean black men. That video could have easily ended worse than it did. Both she and the kid could have been trampled under that herd of “minorities.” Sorry guys but this act of courage is right up there with the skinhead that offs a random Black guy walking down the street, knowing full well that there are millions of other blacks ready to take that guy’s place. Meanwhile the skinhead serves a life in prison, his wife (if he has one) is forced to take desperate measures to make ends meet, and his kids grow up fatherless. And let’s not forget what a media gold-mine this is for our Marxist masters.
I admire the courage of these people. I despise the lack of direction and strategy with which that courage is used.
A lot of whites argue that they can’t afford to speak out because of their children. I think that having children is one of the best reasons to speak out. What kind of world is being created for that little boy?

Absolutely! My children are reasons #1, 2 & 3 for having any involvement with “the movement.” Time and place though, guys. You don’t march into battle with a kid at your side. Period! Scientists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute have found that when just 10 percent of the population holds an unshakable belief, their belief will always be adopted by the majority of the society. The scientists, who are members of the Social Cognitive Networks Academic Research Center (SCNARC) at Rensselaer, used computational and analytical methods to discover the tipping point where a minority belief becomes the majority opinion. The finding has implications for the study and influence of societal interactions ranging from the spread of innovations to the movement of political ideals.
“When the number of committed opinion holders is below 10 percent, there is no visible progress in the spread of ideas. It would literally take the amount of time comparable to the age of the universe for this size group to reach the majority,” said SCNARC Director Boleslaw Szymanski, the Claire and Roland Schmitt Distinguished Professor at Rensselaer. “Once that number grows above 10 percent, the idea spreads like flame.”
As an example, the ongoing events in Tunisia and Egypt appear to exhibit a similar process, according to Szymanski. “In those countries, dictators who were in power for decades were suddenly overthrown in just a few weeks.”’

Greg, I agree with your suggestion and I was moved by your earlier description of ”fishwife and son” (England was built by the beautiful sons of fishwives) but I very much doubt that Emma will be in much of a state for any continuance after suffering her six days of ‘Tavistock treatment’…and she will be hyper concerned for her young son, who is already in the hands of those who would destroy him.

Children of Men was an incredibly strange and powerful movie. The horrible culimination of the Liberal Ideal – a Black Christ Child but also “beautiful” images of Muslims behind wire scheduled for deportation. And then being crushed as they revolt – very inspiring.

Two quick comments:
One, given what White Republican so correctly said about the BNP, it will be fascinating to see how the BNP/UKIP/British Resistance deal with this opportunity. Griffin should be out in full force, declaring that every penny raised will go to her legal defense.
Two, this is an excellent example of why WNists made a good first step by helping counter-currents fund Greg Johnson’s funding goals. This is just beginning, and steady contributions are all the more important. I suspect the time might come for a legal defense fund of some sort, and it might come sooner than we think.

That “strictly legal” part might require lawyers to prove, not that anyone was remotely in the wrong, but that they were absolutely in the right. I think, in time, that will be the new burden of proof.

I use the metaphor of the willows; they bend with the wind, develop, and in time, become a wall against the wind. Behind that wall, amazing things can develop. Note well the Insight of Harold Covington, that the Irish Nationalists held the British Empire to a draw. With better ideas, victory might have come sooner, with no loss of life on either side.
That is the model we need to adopt.

Sometimes I wonder who will be the heros and heroines of our future history books. Complex and ideologically driven men like Anders Behring Breivik? Or a simple, slightly drunk, woman like Emma West?
A catalyst can be something completely different from what we think it should be.
I really feel sorry for that woman, and her anger his completely understandable. Anybody in this situation would get Tourette syndrome one day. She seems to be white working class, and that is the group that suffers most from Labour’s “rub the right’s nose in diversity” policy. She is our Rosa Parks now, except that she hasn’t been planted in the bus for a propaganda stunt like Rosa was.

However, be it as it may, I still believe, as, I think, all German nationalists (very few anyway) that our enemies of yesterday can be our friends of tomorrow – even if only because there is no other hope. I am a regular reader of the BNP homepage and I still hope we can in a common effort save our future here in Europe, North America and Australia.
But self-respect should tell the British people to abhorr themselves the likes of Churchil, Bomber Harris and anti-German propaganda and imagery. I wont dictate that to them (even if I could, the BNP page is still somewhat filled with this sort of material) because I believe in freedom.
As a fellow German, I second every single word you’ve written. I’ve known and know Anglo-Saxons from all over the world. I have felt a strong cultural bond with all of them, a bond stemming from our true racial common identity.
Just like the Greeks and the Trojans, the fatal machinations of narcissistic, selfish elites plunged our fathers and grandfathers into war with each other, whereas they should have been like brothers. It is nothing but a Greek tragedy.

If the Germans had won WWII they would have spread Nazi doctrine by radio, film, and television all over the globe and certain parts of America would have come under it’s influence. Yes, you are absolutely right and it’s also the reason why the senior citizens who did grow up in that 1950′s All White America still cling so strongly to the idea of Hitler as Demon. They never needed Hitler to be anything else but evil because they were protected and satisfied in their All White World, but for those of us who did grow up in later decades, either 1980′s or 1990′s we see very clearly the minority-oriented Communist Jew chaos that Hitler was trying to prevent long before any of us were even born.

The problem with Carl’s comment is that 1) the author of this article, British nationalists and the CC readership aren’t the ones that need reminding, and 2) hardly anyone in Britian has real control over what British elites do or don’t do, and 3) the events at issue happened 60 years ago. True karmic justice would require forcing Thatcher, Blair, Cameron and their lackeys to live next door to the mongrel pack.
We didn’t get to see the beginning (or the end) of this incident but I’ll bet the question of that empty seat on Emma’s right was the catalyst for her moment of ”No Pasaran!”

On the other thread topic, I agree with Carl, though I don’t wish any harm from spite to Poms. I simply wish they’d come around to White solidarity. Western governments are not free to operate like the early Soviets yet. They can’t just drag you into the yard and put two in the back of your head with the whole world watching. As much as I’m sure it irks them, they still have to bother with a show trial. Will they declare Emma West mentally ill like Anders Breivik? Locking away thoughtcriminals in asylums to send a message to the rest of society is a classic Jewish technique.

Considering that Emma started her rant with the Poles indicates to me that she is suffering from the effects of overcrowding rather than racism. The Daily Mail had a cartoon the other day where the father was telling his child that his mother was the 77 millionth to arrive in Britain and caused the island to sink. A few of the commentators here sound like they might start singing “Gott strafe England!” Carl is acting not unlike a troll: I don’t recall him as a regular or even an occasional commentator at Counter-Currents (although he’s fairly articulate and his English is quite good), but he pops up now and hangs on like a bulldog on an issue which he must know will be divisive. I went to your link then linked into her Boston speech. I find it hard to believe that a seasoned investor would have such a shallow understanding of “the rules of the game or who the players are.” She also has a peculiar approach to the mass relating it to the Jews crying out, “Let his blood be upon us.” More of the Vatican Two changes? Chris, Some of us live on the other side of the world so can’t physically attend. In my case I wrote a short letter for http://britainfirst.org/free-emma-west/ who are well on the way to getting 1,000 individual emails to the Home Secretary. It’s not much and it won’t achieve much and few people will even bother to do that. Britain truly is a conquered country with a broken people and even the Bishops don’t have enough faith in their God to thunder form their pulpits what the penalty for kidnapping (individuals in the state that stole Emma’s children) is.
The true gut felt resistance seems to be rising spontaneously from the women.
