A picture is worth a thousand words. The contemporaneous painting of the Jamestown Massacre you attached is helpful. I’ll save it to counter the school’s propaganda when the kids are old enough to understand.
Re: the new Dune. Petty though I may be, it’s the casting of androgyne (and Early Lifer) T. Chalamet as Paul which by itself would keep me away from the film. But I’ll wait til next week to hear what nobler souls than I have to say.
John Boormin is my favorite English director, for zardoz, Excalibur, and hope and glory. Also, David lean can’t be ignored for Ryan’s daughter.
