At the end of our Counter-Currents Retreats, we had a tradition of going around the room and sharing a toast and an oath. The toast was to praise something positive. The oath was to promise to one’s peers to accomplish one thing for the movement before our next gathering.
Jonathan Bowden was the keynote speaker at the Counter-Currents Retreat in Santa Cruz, California, on Saturday, February 25 and Sunday, February 26, 2012. This excerpt is his toast and oath from the closing session on Sunday, February 26.
Greg Johnson: It is very important that Jonathan get the last word.
Jonathan Bowden: As I toast I think that Greg should be thanked for this weekend and for Counter-Currents. I think Counter-Currents is the best Right-wing site on the Internet, for the depth of coverage that it has. In terms of an oath, I pledge to come back and speak again, and speak again, and speak again [laughter] until you say “Don’t speak again.” [Laughter.]
Greg Johnson: That really was the last word, so we are adjourned. Thank you so much.
Sadly, Jonathan died the next month, but thanks to a friend who found this bit of audio, he can speak again, and speak again, and speak again.
