It would appear that the saga of black female Harvard President Claudine Gay has come to an end with her resignation on January 2. The tale ended as it began: as a farce.
One of the reasons that I find myself incapable of getting too emotionally invested in the matter is the sneaking suspicion that if the President of Harvard is all that important, they never would have appointed a black woman to the position. I imagine that the elite universities have their own equivalent of a Deep State behind the scenes that allows them to keep functioning even if the figurehead at the top is an affirmative action mediocrity.
The other reason I can’t get too emotional about the debacle is my belief that the university system is a lost cause that is impervious to reform. The whole thing is rotten from ground up: from the lowliest teacher’s assistants to all the department heads. I imagine that even the university janitors and landscapers are also hired based on their anti-white credentials. Would appointing David Duke the President of Harvard thus really make that much of a difference?
It goes without saying that promoting a black woman to be President of Harvard is only marginally less ridiculous than when Caligula appoint his horse to the Roman Senate. No one believes that a black woman who earned her reputation as a Professor of Blackety-Black Studies was the most qualified person in a country of 331 million people to lead America’s most prestigious educational institution. Her appointment was a slap in the face to white people to begin with.
Nevertheless, Claudine Gay earned some good will on the dissident Right when she was called before Congress for a special session on anti-Semitism on college campuses. She was asked whether calls for the genocide of the Jewish people are against Harvard’s code of conduct. This was, of course, a trick question, as Jews believe that any critical statement about themselves is a call for genocide. In particular, Jews claim that the pro-Palestine slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is a call for genocide, even though that is not how it is intended by those who use it.
On top of this, it put Gay in the position of having to choose between either putting herself in hot water with the Zionist lobby or becoming a race traitor to her fellow brown people, who by and large support Palestine. Gay, being black, chose black solidarity. “It can be, depending on the context,” she said. “Anti-Semitic rhetoric, when it crosses into conduct that amounts to bullying, harassment, intimidation — that is actionable conduct and we do take action.”
On the surface, this could be seen as a statement of support for free speech, but one wonders how she might have responded if questioned about pro-white statements. There was an incident in 2017 where some “It’s OK to be white” stickers were put up around the Harvard campus which triggered the predictable faculty meltdown. The Law School’s Dean of Students, Marcia L. Sells, addressed the matter in an e-mail to Harvard law students:
It seems likely that these anonymous postings, made in the middle of the night, were provocations intended to divide us from one another. HLS will not let that happen here. We live, work, teach, and learn together in a community that is stronger, better, and deeper because of our diversity and because we encourage open, respectful, and constructive discourse.
That was during the tenure of a previous Harvard President, however. Would Gay have responded differently? Maybe, but if I were a betting man, probably not. My suspicion is that rather than standing up for free speech, Claudine Gay was trying to protect black people.
This tale became even more farcical when it came out shortly after the Congressional hearing that conservative activists, along with the New York Post, had found 27 instances of plagiarism in Gay’s work, including her doctoral thesis. Granted, I generally assume that there is always going to be a lot of smoke and mirrors behind any high-achieving black person. There’s going to be some plagiarism, ghost writers, favoritism, affirmative action, and grading on a curve. It’s like when you hear about such-and-such black rapper who is also a successful businessman and whose companies have made hundreds of millions. What you’re supposed to think is that when the guy is not making ooga-booga music about bitches and hoez, he is a Randian superman straight out of Atlas Shrugged who pours over complex financial statements in between studio sessions. The reality is that some Jew simply gave him a lot of money and a piece of his company in exchange for putting his name on a product someone else made.
Of course, the usual Blackety-Black activists claimed that the accusations of plagiarism were bogus and motivated by racism. This sounds ridiculous on the face of it, but wading into this mess, it gets even murkier. Some of the alleged instances of plagiarism were in fact mere paraphrasing, while others were technical definitions. Some examples merely needed quotation marks. Nevertheless, some of the people Gay is accused of plagiarizing have said that they think what she did constituted plagiarism. Others have claimed that it is an open secret that all academics plagiarize a little, and that here it is being selectively enforced against Gay.
At that point the whole situation looked like a lose-lose for whites. It was going to be a slap in the face to white people if she kept her job and a win for Zionists if she was fired or resigned. She resigned, so that’s a win for Zionism.
I can believe the narrative that Jewish power was looking for any excuse to push her out and that no would have cared about the plagiarism had she not stood up to the Zionists. One hopes that at least the Zionists will get some bad public relations out of the mess. Maybe the blacks will get angry with the Jews for taking down one their own.
Alas, it is looking as if we might not even get that consolation prize. Ibram X. Kendi appears to be the go-to commentator for the opposition, and the narrative he’s running with is that she was fired for being black, not for standing up to Jews. In a Twitter/X thread, Kendi explained:
When a racist mob attacks a Black [sic] person, it finds a seemingly legitimate reason for the attack that allows for it to accrue popular support and credibility, and which allows the growing mob to deny they are attacking the person in this way because the person is Black [sic]. That’s how anti-Black [sic] racist attacks have been justified. The seemingly legitimate reason, in this latest case at Harvard, is primarily academic misconduct or plagiarism. The question to assess whether this was a racist attack isn’t whether Dr. Gay engaged in any misconduct. The question is whether all these people would have investigated, surveilled, harassed, written about, and attacked her in the same way if the Harvard president in this case would have been White [sic]. I. Think. Not. It isn’t hard to figure out why the racist mob is cheering right now and saying “go woke go broke” and President Gay wasn’t qualified and the “tide is turning against woke and DEI [diversity, equity, and inclusion]” and “this is the beginning of the end of woke.”
The Jew always trumps the black — and they blame the white.

On the plus side Kendi is consistent with his capitalisation of colours. Switch Jewish for White and you have the truth. Fantastic thing is Harvard didn’t even trust a Jewess to replace her.
That paragraph of Ibram Kendi was, perhaps unsurprisingly, very poorly written.
I agree that this resignation was not much of a win for whites. But it wasn’t a complete nullity. It sets a precedent, which perhaps could be used by our side to intimidate or harm our enemies in future instances of really egregious antiwhite bigotry.
I also agree with the more substantial assertion that our universities, outside of the STEM areas (maybe), are unreformable and ought to be shuttered. As a liberal arts guy, this saddens me, but even normiecons need to be brutally frank about which fights are winnable, or, even if so, worth fighting at all. I don’t think attempting to fix our “lost cause” colleges is even a minimal priority (de-woking and de-affirmative actionizing law, medical, and military schools, is, however, of the utmost importance).
It might be interesting to crowdsource ideas here at CC on the topic of how to kill the colleges.
For one thing, cut off their federal funding except for departments that aren’t pozzed, and make sure that STEM funding and such isn’t misdirected. One possible argument (a bit far-fetched but a possibility) is that cultural Marxism is a religion, and as such, paying students to be indoctrinated in that would constitute “establishing religion” under the 1st Amendment.
Yarvin has proposed the funding tactic in the form of forcing all of the universities and institutions supporting reparations to pay them out of their endowments and cash positions. In any case, taking the money away would end this overnight. How do we do it without destroying our country’s fiscal capital is the issue there.
James Lindsey is preparing to try and destroy, “wokeism”, and his entire war is built upon your very idea Beau. He has a very elaborate proof system to prove that Woke is a religion and thus the legal regime we have around religious freedom will be used to defang its attack on our civilization.
As for the article’s comment that the Universities have their own deep state they do. First of all, many of the STEM departments are DOD funded and with the rise of Internet tech, they are also now heavily in bed with the tech oligarchy. I found further evidence of another branch of this when reading Harvard’s board of director statements on Claudine Gay. I found a story where Harvard sent an envoy to Tel Aviv to promise investments in Israel’s private sector. Doing more searches show a history of zig zagging between Israel investment and divestment by the endowment. There is also Israel’s long march to make Israel boycotts illegal or American taxpayer funding dependent upon not participating in Israel boycotts. I am sure that University endowments are heavily targeted for removing such restrictions so tribal advocates can get access to the massive trove of endowment funds which in turn I am sure are used as leverage to wield the real power inside of the Universities.
I suspect that on the surface these oligarchs make massive donations to the Universities. While it looks like philanthropy, it is probably sent right back to their business enterprises both in terms of financial investment, propping up or swelling stock prices, as well as their operations dictating the direction of education and research and getting prime access to top recruits.
Another thing that comes to mind is the Bidet administration’s idea to pay off everyone’s student loans. This would be a little different – payment would only be eligible for those who got a bullshit degree after being misled into thinking it would be worth something. However, instead of the government paying off the college tab, which would be grossly unfair to taxpayers who didn’t enroll in something like Lesbian Ninja Studies, it would be paid from the university’s assets. They’d squeal like piglets!
Gay’s removal set a precedent? With what court? Even the court’s don’t believe in ‘precedent’ if the defendent is the wrong race (White).
What Kendi is saying is absolutely true, except he’s got the wrong oppressed race.
When the boss wants to fire you, there’s always about a dozen reasons to justify it.
That’s why they call them ‘boss’.
I saw the headline of some lefty op-ed proclaiming that Claudine Gay was a victim of conservative cancel culture. Oh, right… It wasn’t about conservatism; it was about Zionism.
At this point what isn’t just a slap in the face to White people?
Ms. Gay’s area of expertise, blackety black studies, has a finite amount of material with which to work. How else could she compile any thoughts on the subject without copying from Encyclopedia brown? To her credit at least she took the time and effort to paraphrase unlike Alex Haley who just copied his great American work of non-fiction verbatim straight out of a work of fiction.
I love your observation about high achieving blacks always having smoke and mirrors behind their accomplishments. A friend of mine who works in education says he constantly comes across “Dr’s” with dubious diplomas from Vatterott and the university of Phoenix. No one ever calls them out on it.
“This was, of course, a trick question, as Jews believe that any critical statement about themselves is a call for genocide. In particular, Jews claim that the pro-Palestine slogan “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is a call for genocide, even though that is not how it is intended by those who use it.”
Correct!
The term Intifada was also brought to question as “jewish genocide” which is not true. Any research through Webster will tell you it means the “shaking off” of – in this case European colonists who forced them into a fenced reservations where they were continuously persecuted and strictly controlled / incarcerated.
As anyone with any common sense knows that the takeover of Palestine was no Louisiana Purchase.
Claudine Gay was only 1 of 3 university heads put on this witch trial, the other 2 are white. Ms. Stefanik (judge and jury) was also removed from Harvard previously for advocating the unproven Trump stolen vote conspiracy, yet she is still in a position to chair a “Robespierre and Le Terreur” trial (where she writes on her twitter “one, and then two, down and one to go” like some WW2 pilot stamping kills under her cockpit)
She holds this position despite her IQ and past actions because of the same “political correct fashions” or privilege of our day, and her party’s money and influence.
The fact is that student political protests have been happening on college campuses for over half a century remembering Ohio, (followed by a spiked increase in university costs on students by a California governor back then as a consequence) and that university presidents can only call in police oversight – since they are only in charge of educational institutions where americans have a right to free speech under the national constitution and peaceful protest.
Was Caligula’s appointment of his horse to the Senate an act of insanity? Or, was he making a political statement about the relevance of the Senate? Thus, is Gay appointed the President of Harvard insanity or a humiliation and act of conquest?
I remember the absurdity of Boris Yeltsin being trotted around, beligerently drunk and acting the buffoon during the days when the Ivy League business school and Wall St. oligarchy was sucking the blood of post Soviet Russia. Biden’s puppethood looks like the same belligerent humiliation ritual aimed squarely at the white man to send him a very clear message and demoralize him.
My $.02
I’m not sure about Caligula. As for Claudine Gay, from what I hear, the mass hysteria following the Long Hot Summer of Floyd convinced Harvard administrators that they should start grooming a Black for the position, since all prior presidents were White. Apparently she did wield some real power, since she used it in some fairly obnoxious ways.
As for Bidet, I did read about a leaked insider account that says the election fraud was intended to be so blatantly obvious that it would demoralize us.
Lol! That was funny.
It’s important to note that she is still employed with Harvard and making $900k a year. I think she’s making the same as if she was President.
Academia is essentially a cartel. The reason why Harvard is the best school in the world is simply because it has the biggest endowment–the most money.
I’m guessing that if it weren’t for donors, namely Jewish donors, threatening to cutoff funding then Gay would still be on. That was where the rubber hit the road and it the golem needed to be put in its place. All this DEI stuff is all fine and dandy until it stops working against its intended target, that of course being whites, and instead targets Jews. Harvard knows who butters its bagel. The fact that the interim president is a Jew (who is presumably a subversive leftist when it comes to America and Europe but an alt-right ethnonationalist when it comes to Israel) is clearly to send a message. Surely there is another black woman on the Harvard faculty who could have taken Gay’s place.
Wow, $900K a year?! No wonder most of us can’t afford to be educated.
Nation Patriarchs where are you when we need you most!
DIE is all fun and games until it affects cash-flow.
“It’s important to note that she is still employed with Harvard and making $900k a year. I think she’s making the same as if she was President.”
Yes! A very important fact to take into consideration, because it is often the case with these rabid, academic anti-Whites, that when they say something which causes even today’s jaded everyman to flinch, are usually given a public wrist-slapping and then moved on to a comparatively lucrative position — and sometimes even given a promotion. That is the part the public usually misses after the Fox News and Conservative, Inc. talking-head gloaters “own” one of the Bolsheviks. As always, Whites lose.
I have to add that my first thought, after wading through the Kendi Whomever paragraph at the end of the article, was that classic Colin Flaherty sarcastic line about (paraphrasing from memory) “White racism being responsible for absolutely everything, always, no matter what, and no other explanation can be possible, and that explains everything.” The Big Lie that seemingly must be maintained at all costs is that nothing can ever be the fault of Black people; not even their own personal limitations and failings.
I wonder if anybody knows this scene from a 1988 TV miniseries about the young Mary Faeghann affair?
https://youtu.be/0MtO6PNw3aQ?t=2153
The character played by the actor Lemmon shows an appropriate, decent, yet just treatment of unfortunate Afro-Americans by an educated White.
I think Leo Frank was guilty at least of the kiddie rapes. The actual murder of Mary Phagan, I’m not so sure. That sounds like a skittish Negro accomplice with his hand in the cookie jar kind of faux pas.
Anyway, the portray in the video is pretty good because it shows how the humble, lovable Darkie navigates Whitey by not playing the angry, defiant buck. He knows better.
🙂
Good essay.
So Gay could have easily saved her ass by saying that calls for the genocide of the Jewish people are against Harvard’s code of conduct, however calls (and support) for the genocide of the Palestinians are ALSO against Harvard’s code of conduct. Or is it not?
But hey, how much insight and intelligence do you expect of a Professor of Blackety Black (love the expression) studies?
I don’t consider this sordid affair a lose-lose situation for Whites. It is more like the beginning of the phase of the ‘diversity’ revolution when it starts devouring its own children. History is the teacher of life (Cicero).
I picked up “blackety-black” from John Derbyshire who uses it the way I did.
The origin of the phrase is from the Chris Rock movie CB4 which satirizes the rap group NWA. In the movie, one of the guys goes solo and rebrands himself as a black nationalist rapper. His debut single is called “I’m Black Y’all”. The entire song is “I’m black, y’all and I’m black y’all and I’m blackety-black and I’m black y’all” over and over.

Thanks for the explanation. Just watched the piece. Very funny and so typical of many of them. Incl. Gay 🙂
Yarvin is on the right track in the notion of the “Cathedral”, that universities and the left & mainstream media synergize to shift opinions and funding priorities leftwards. But make no mistake, wacko ideas usually first germinate in academic liberal arts departments, then the media starts becoming sympathetic. I don’t undervalue the Gay defrocking.
How was Gay chosen in the first place? Dean of Harvard has to be one of the most coveted university positions worldwide. Harvard could have recruited plenty of other more clarified black academics. I think it no accident that they picked someone so ‘under par’. They had an attitude of “lets get this over with…we are going to have to have a black woman dean at some point… let it be brief”. The usual brief way is to let someone “fail upwards”. After a few years in which an underqualified “identity” candidate holds a prestigious post, they can get an even more senior position in which there is need for diversity. Gay might still be a candidate for a future cabinet-level position, such as Secretary of Education… That is until someone creates an inaugural cabinet Secretary of Diversity.
As it stands now I suspect Harvard will feel under pressure to find another black dean, this time more carefully scrutinized and more qualified, who they will partner with longer than originally planned.
Just her ‘optics’ (of Mizz Gay, Ph.D.) should warn off any halfway intelligent person from hiring her in the first place. Yikes!
I dont know to what extent you guys here know the mainstream western academia from within. Universities in Europe and America have become just an offshoot of corporate world. They are run by semi-educated careerist midwits. Ordinary university teachers live under extreme work pressure and constant fear. A university faculty is no more a refugium where you can do stuff you like in a relative freedom (if perhaps for less money). In fact teaching students about your field is the least important part of your job as a uni-teacher. What you do most of the time is some corporate pretending, virtue signalling and intrigues + tons of bureaucracy. You have very limited freedom as to what to research or what to write about. You are always in fear of others and in constant fear of losing your job. After some time in academia you are also useless for the outiside world and that makes you even more vulnerable. Thats why 99% of academics are extreme conformist and mainstream universities will only get more intellectually sterile with time.
Very True and very destructive,
This was expressed by a supreme court justice last year regarding freedom of important cultural subject discussion in Universities
I wonder how many people in recent years have analyzed current Hoover Institution director Condoleezza Rice’s past academic writings. You never know what you might stumble upon.
