Neither Elon Musk Nor DOGE Will Save White America

Other than eliminating the DEI, EO, and leftist slush funds in the USAID program, DOGE is not making American government more efficient. Elon Musk’s DOGE cutbacks were layoffs for the sake of numbers, and they were carried out in a narcissistic manner on a level worse than mere corporate “HR” schoolmarmism. In other words, neither DOGE nor Musk, will save America’s whites.
The DOGE cutbacks are the largest mass layoffs in American history. The economic, political, and social ramifications of this have yet to play out. It is certain that something negative, indeed highly negative, will happen as a result. A historical parallel from the business world can be found in the story of the layoffs at General Electric (GE) which occurred after Jack Welch took over the company. The late Jack Welch made a bundle for General Electric’s stockholders, and he was called a business genius. What he did, however, was fire the Americans and outsource the company’s manufacturing to China. Now China is a global rival to the United States and upstate New York, the former industrial urheimat of General Electric, is part of the Rust Belt. The money Welch made for the company was lost during the 2008 Great Recession, but the problems created by Welch remain.
Welch’s cutbacks were not related to GE’s inability to make a profit, he wanted to juice the stock prices for his shareholders. The cutbacks were not necessary in any other sense. All cutbacks unrelated to simple financial matters can be problematic, the Clinton Era military cutbacks finished just before the back-to-back deployments started with the Bosnian War. The army which went to war in 2001 was short at the mid-grade levels across the board, and the problems compounded with people leaving after continuous campaigns.
Already Virginia’s state government has had to scramble to react, setting up a program to re-purpose the laid off workers. For no reason other than ideology, DOGE has created a massive, unnecessary crisis for Virgina, a state, governed by Republicans, a party which, Musk, a foreign immigrant, allegedly is part of.
Government Service/Government Operations
There is no employee of the US Government, or perhaps any state government, which does not recognize that there is a great deal of frustration over the appearance of pay without work and the appearance of no layoffs. There is plenty of work in a government job, and layoffs and cutbacks do happen. There are reductions in the force all the time. President Eisenhower reduced both civilian and military numbers in the 1950s with the “New Look” policy. As described above, President Clinton heavily reduced the government workforce. Bush 43 replaced civil servants with corporate contractors to pay off his cronies. There was also a reduction of “over-hires” during Obama’s second term.
Then there are the political fights that impact the government workforce. Government shutdowns stressfully impacted the cash flow of affected workers in the short term. In 2013, a funding battle between the Obama administration and congress caused the entire federal workforce to be furloughed without pay one day a week for several months.
There are wrongheaded ideas about government workers. The most important one is that they are far-left activists. That’s only in unique places and times, such as USAID during the Senile Joe regime. In fact, the far right has a tradition of attracting government employees. Revilo P. Oliver, for example, worked as a government-civilian codebreaker during World War II. During the early 1960s, a nationally famous anti-communist writer, Don Caron, worked for the US Forest Service. Then there are the many, many white advocates who were enlisted in the military at some point.
The anti-government worker idea arises out of the so-called “civil rights” movement, where ordinary citizens, frustrated by the Johnson administration’s support for black rioting, saw Park Rangers and Federal Clerks as complicit in the disorder. There are also the lingering beliefs from the neo-liberal social movement which was a reaction to Roosevelt’s New Deal excesses. A part of neo-liberal ideology simplistically holds “the government” as responsible for all problems, therefore all government employees, of whatever status are fair game.
There are activities in a society which are inherently the preview of the king; military operations, toll roads, law enforcement and courts, border patrolling, customs, and so much more. The bigger and more complex the society, the more roles government is required to step into. A government operation which appears simple requires an array of support, and it can grow in a way that might appear inefficient.
An example of this can be found in Iceland during the Cold War. White advocate George Lincoln Rockwell served there shortly after the Korean War. American forces were in Iceland to defend North America from Soviet Air and Naval forces seeking to cross the Greenland-Iceland-UK Gap. To accomplish the mission, the military needed three front-line commands: One fighter squadron to intercept the communists’ bombers, anti-submarine aircraft integrated into an extensive sonar network to deal with the Soviet U-Boats, and a listening post with a long-range radar to watch the north of Russia.
To support the front line, there needed to be maintenance personnel, cooks, and supply depot managers. An infantry battalion of the Marines was needed for base security. The police were needed to deal with lawbreakers and troublemakers. Chaplains are also needed, plus schools, teachers and education support staff for the children of the soldiers. Carrying out the defense of the Greenland-Iceland-UK Gap with three front-line military commands, thus blossoms into a small community with many government workers working different technical jobs. All those workers were expected to take the initative. In retrospect, it appeared for naught because the Russians didn’t try a major push across the Atlantic – but they might have pushed had there not been a base in Iceland.
Government inefficiency in Iceland during the Cold War would be permanently deploying a regiment of heavy artillery to Iceland to vaporize any fishing village that “disses” the Marines. Other inefficiency would be criminal activity between a US government official and a local contractor – kickbacks for the road grading project or something. The base’s hospital could also get an Alzheimer’s ward due to a paperwork error although such a ward is not needed in a community filled with military aged people.
A good plan for DOGE would have been to apply the minds of the men and women of the Forest Service to study the LA fires and seek ways to prevent them in the future. The environment has improved across the board and there are more trees. Cities like LA have become integrated into the natural environment. It is not city vs. wilderness anymore. This is a new situation in the forests. Areas like Houston’s woodlands is similar to that of LA. Managing that new situation is government efficiency, avoiding a massive fire is guarding against preventable evils.
Admittedly, there was a racial issue to the LA Fires. The mayor was a sub-Saharan. She was off in Africa during the disaster, and she led poorly. The vice mayor, another, sub-Saharan, was on house arrest for phoning in a bomb threat to the city council during the blaze. It was an Africa in our Midst situation through and through. There were also DEI hires in the Fire Department who performed as badly as expected. Knowing this is great, but it is in the same bucket as the limits of understanding the Jewish Question. Yes, Africans behave stupidly, and Jews are a subversive force, but wildfires don’t care about that. You – Anglo-American white – need to get to work with the knowledge of racial reality and the JQ in its proper place while getting the mission accomplished.
The Peter Principle
The Peter Principle holds that people can get promoted to a position beyond their capability and then fail spectacularly, to put it simply. With Elon Musk, we are watching the Peter Principle in action, and the spectacular failure will arrive shortly. White advocates have known this already. Musk has promoted some good people, like Keith Woods, but on the whole, rational white advocates on Musk’s twitter/X platform are suppressed while fools like Nick Fuentes remain online. Musk also supports the H1b fraud. The bads which have come with Musk’s goods are the fatal flaw in the Musk system.
After Trump was elected, Musk sent an email to the entire workforce asking for a response. Once that occurred, he sent a follow-on offer for workers to resign with a large severance package. Nearly 75,000 took the offer.
Then, Musk carried out cutbacks starting with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). This was after he set up a poll on twitter which ultimately encouraged him to cut the agency. This is a perfect example of taking the easy wrong over the hard right. Of course, the IRS is unpopular, nobody likes getting taxed. However, the IRS is necessary. If Musk wants to sell Space X rockets to the US Government, then the IRS is required to collect the money to pay Musk – plus everything else the government needs to buy. There is the talk of an External Revenue Service, but that doesn’t exist yet.
Musk’s DOGE then fired every employee of the US Government that he could fire. Other than ending the leftist programs there was no underpinning strategy behind the firings. Musk’s DOGE carried out their policies along the lines of a Wesleyan Conversion. There was a sinful state of X number of government employees, now there is a state of grace by Y fewer.
As always, the devil is in the details. Many of those employees were “on probation.” Meaning they hadn’t been in the job long enough to have civil servant protections. Some were only “on probation” because they were recently promoted. Now managers of various programs are gone, with no plan in place to make up for the loss. DOGE is also at war with its own goals. Musk is planning to give money back to the people for his savings, but he has cut the IRS which handles direct payments to citizens, for example. Meanwhile, most, if not all, of the 75,000 employees who resigned, have NOT been given their promised money or retirement papers. Given this lack of follow-through on Musk’s part for early retirement for workers who took his deal in good faith, the likelihood of a DOGE payout from all this to the public is nil.
Musk’s first layoffs happened just as Trump’s cabinet appointees who oversee the various federal workers were getting settled into their new jobs. This layoff is like the disorder in the time between the death of one “king” and the coronation of the next, but eventually the disorder ends. On 22 February 2025, in the middle of the night, Musk sent an email to all employees asking for a list of what they did over the last week. The email was from “HR.” It was corporate jargon to a workforce that sees itself as working a higher vocation than that of a corporate America CEO. The email address got out to the public and the inbox was spammed. (Why didn’t he think of that beforehand?) Immediately, several cabinet officials informed their underlings to not respond. Musk had violated the basic rule of a hierarchal organization – don’t directly contact the underling of a different agency without some sort of agreement between the principal leaders beforehand.
Musk had also claimed he’d fire anyone who wouldn’t respond. So, he has issued an empty threat and been called on it. He did this after leaping around with a fake chain saw to a crowd of sycophants. Musk has thus made a fool of himself while working at a level where immature antics don’t fly. He has also created an unemployment crisis which has overshadowed Trump’s (as of yet potential) diplomatic coup to end the war in Ukraine. Yes, there is some good with Musk’s bad, but it doesn’t matter anymore. The bad is too much. White advocates cannot expect anything more from Musk.

Good question. After the Bolshevik Revolution, the Soviet government created the Comintern – a government agency which sponsored revolutions across the world, and it caused a great deal of stress. Mid-World War II, the Comintern was shut down to appease the Soviet Union’s allies. There was probably some pressure from the Americans to do this and the Americans had leverage over Stalin because of Lend-Lease. The Russians see USAID as the agency which funds the Color Revolutions and analogize it with the Comintern. Dugin himself has said this:

It is highly reasonable that ending USAID was part of the deal to end the war. Additionally, the Ukrainian mineral deal is probably a compromise. If America has “vital minerals” there, then it follows that America has given a security guarantee that is like NATO, but not NATO. The terms of the compromise seem to be becoming clear though the actual terms might not be available for a while.

Putin is actually adjacent to Biden et al. This regime wouldn’t care about USAID. And they would likely prefer Biden to Trump.

You make good points. Musk and indeed Trump is going about as a bull in a china shop and he looks pumped up on microdoses or amphetamines to boot. The most significant move of Trump’s first 30 days was the summary firing of C.Q. Brown. Every one of the people fired, who are part of the Democratic patronage network and thus suck at the hobbled body of White America is a good thing provided a new castle that benefits us is created.
In the end, this entire regime will only continue the destruction of America. What really killed it was that it is a merchant led and run order. Yesterday Trump announced with secretary Lutnick that he will sell off American Gold Cards. Effectively American citizenship will be sold off to the highest bidders and a global elite will continue the feast. The near entirety of the oligarchy is not American. We have to take what good we will get and step into power vacuums and get what we can while the getting is good. Our job is to build our own patrimony system however and wherever we can.
We all read Homer. We need to think and act like pirates and colonizers. That is what this supra-America foreign oligarchy is. We get what we can from the empire and use it to strengthen ourselves for a cross generational struggle. Should better opportunities arise, if organized, we can take them. With Trump and Musk, America For Sale is not going to change. However, if the black patronage network can be destroyed and we can find a way to get into the fray and make or take something of it for ourselves that is better than what we have now. What are you basing this “statistic” on, other than cliches you’ve built up in your mind?
For one, voting patterns in DC and the surrounding suburbs. For two, donations of federal employees by political party.
But if you have some deeper knowledge about these noble, put-upon federal employees, please enlighten me.
These cuts are taking place across the country, not just in DC. Today OMB announced a Reduction-In-Force and singled out field offices as a target for cuts.
Using cherry-picked stats about political contributions fails to capture the reality that most federal employees do not make political contributions.
The arbitrary nature of these cuts are going to hurt a lot of good white people, especially in small towns throughout the rural US, especially in the West.
It’s going to hurt white government employees — approximately one-third of whom are veterans.
It is going to hurt the white citizens which depend on federal services.
It is going to hurt white contractors (no one is talking about this, but most federal contracting has been frozen).
It is going to reduce tax revenues and hurt county and municipal budgets throughout flyover country which is going to hurt schools, infrastructure and public safety.
And it is going to hurt the local — white — economies where those government employees spend their money.
You might want to try doing your own thinking and think about second order consequences, instead of letting Con Inc and the Heritage Foundation do your thinking for you. They are not on our side any more than Elon Musk is.
Since there are no demographic statistcs to support your claims, I’ll have to take your word for it. But I do know the US gov’t has had explicit diversity hiring preferences for employees and contractors for decades. The imaginative 1950’s world you created no longer exists.
The fact that the media do not use your arguments, should give you pause. If there were a shred of truth to this, the liberal press would latch onto it and parade around these white, Trump-voting DOGE victims for the country to see. What a perfect setup to drive a wedge between the MAGA base, Trump and Musk! Alas, I’ve seen no such story. Thank goodness the media is protecting Trump on this one.
In short, the white America you’re trying to save from DOGE, no longer exists.
So, genius (and likely government employee), given the $2 trillion deficit that Trump inherited and Musk is heroically trying to do something about (if perhaps in an inefficient “blunderbuss” as opposed to more surgical fashion) – a deficit that is completely unsustainable, and will lead ineluctably to a major economic crisis at some point – how would you go about balancing the books? I have my own ideas (and they would involve astronomically more spending cuts and personnel reductions than Trump/Musk have unfortunately yet to propose), but I’d love to hear yours (or van de Camp’s).
Unless the deficit is closed via a combination of deregulation-generated higher economic growth, privatization of government assets, and spending reductions (along with parasitical personnel layoffs), it will eventually be erased via a period of inflation dwarfing what Biden imposed upon us. There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch; someone must pay.
Oh, and the Heritage Foundation is further Right than ever today, and yes, they issue detailed quadrennial reports filled with countless spending reductions that would only be to the benefit of Middle Americans while “harming” (ie, disallowing the parasitism of) disproportionately nonwhite government “workers”. I would also recommend the CATO Institute’s downsizinggovernment.org, a wonderful source for uncovering useless government.
I have a childhood friend who’s a longtime federal employee. Saying that he’s anything other than a bureaucratic parasite would be disingenuous. He’s like Milton in Office Space, sitting in his basement cubicle, playing with a stapler, except my old buddy gets paid around $165,000 every year. What he and his “crack team” do is the very essence of an Orwellian sinecure. However, he has so much seniority I doubt DOGE will be able to give him his walking papers, but that hasn’t stopped him from shrieking incessantly on social media like a left-wing Karen. I don’t see how culling most of those jobs is not a net positive.
Office Space has sprung to mind several times during recent events. At one of the interviews the Two Bobs (the DOGE equivalent) ask an employee: “What is it exactly that you do?” Since he doesn’t have a good answer he resorts to “I’m a people person, godammit!” The skilled employee has his time wasted filing meaningless TPS reports. The Two Bobs promote him and fire his smarmy, meddling boss.

I wouldn’t expect an article like this on Counter-currents. What’s wrong with disbanding the deepstate and sending progressive old Biden administration officials into retirement? Musk fired a bunch of progressive Twitter employees (parasites) and X continues on. Yes, Musk isn’t a white nationalist and he won’t set up an ethnostate, but he will rid the US of a lot of useless parasites and progressive NGOs that only hurt white Americans. These useless employees will be replaced by artificial intelligence and digitalization.
There are three different features to this government reduction.
1. The end of USAID. This is very likely part of the agreement with Russia to end the war in Ukraine.
2. The firing of “woke” generals. This was done by the Secretary of Defense. It was made possible by metapolitical efforts of racially aware soldiers and veterans working since the end of the Vietnam War.
3. Then there is Musk’s reckless attack on the Civil Service. These are mid-grade officials responsible for a variety of technical tasks. The pressure on them from a crony capitalist is, suspicious. I’ve already enumerated the problems of DOGE in the article.
Musk is a lightening rod for Trump. He is using him to draw anger. He will be gone when he is either no longer useful or crashes. Whichever comes first.
As far as the Deep State – whatever was holding the Never Trumpers, Zionists, etc. together seems to be gone.

Thank you for this. It’s good to see a realistic appraisal of Musk from our perspective. Everything about DOGE and Musk, like many other episodes in the Trump saga, has revealed how many people that hover around the WN movement are in practice just edgy Republicans. This “small government” strand of political thought bears as much blame for outsourcing, immigration, and sociocultural pathologies as anything on the left. I really can’t think of anything positive that it’s accomplished – America after Reaganism was browner, less industrialized, more degenerate, less healthy, and deeper in debt than it had ever been during the years of the New Deal. Frankly, I think someone has to be a retard or a sociopath to still support these neoliberal ideas at this point.
National Review-style conservatism couldn’t have done more damage to whites if it had tried. Anytime I hear a rightie wax eloquent about Saint Reagan and muh smaller government, I want to vomit. Traditional conservatism is and always has been the enemy of people who work for a living. It’s all well and good that Musk occasionally has some kind words for the Boers and the German AfD, but in America, he’s nothing but a paper citizen whose “Make America India” agenda stinks worse than the River Ganges. Another fine anti-DOGE essay appeared at Identity Dixie earlier this month, where the author speculated on the motives of Musk and Vivek. I think he may be on to something:
Does no one see the connection that the wealthy elite want to fire a bunch of government employees, but then increase the amount of H-1Bs? These guys want to fire federal employee Sheniqua so that they can replace her with a federal contractor on an H-1B just off the plane from SomaliTurkHinduIstan.
These elites also care more about reducing the amount of regulations targeting them, and reducing the amount of federal employees who would actually enforce regulations against them. Two things that are NOT major cost centers for the U.S. gov, but are suspiciously the Musk-types’ priority focus. This won’t reduce the debt by any meaningful sense, but it surely will make them wealthier and more powerful, with fewer people keeping them accountable.
Open your eyes. It is clearly for their own benefit at the cost of our own people working in those jobs.

WTF are you talking about? Do you know anything at all about the Federal Government, what it does, who controls it, and whom it benefits? Here’s a secret: it does nothing for whites, does not benefit whites, and is not controlled by whites. The more parasitical bureaucrats that can be fired, the more FedGov programs that can be terminated, the better. White conservatives are overwhelmingly in the private sector, and the government is who disproportionately employs nonwhites.

Yep. He runs a campaign as a populist hero of the white working class (although he is careful to never use the word “white”) and then one of the first things he does is create a huge number of unemployed whites. The other goofy thing about the email that I saw was it was worded “ list what you did last week.” Well some people might be out on vacation, out sick or having surgery. That creates a sort of catch 22. And lawsuit city if you fire somebody for being out sick. Vacation is a sort of pre existing legal agreement.
DOGE is positive because it casts a spotlight on bureaucracy. It should have a spotlight cast on it from time to time and shouldn’t take itself for granted as its own intrinsic life form. People who depend on a purely bureaucratic existence should be worried about the value of what they are doing, and if it has value at all, that they are earning their keep. They should be worried Musk is thinking, “Wouldn’t it just be better to give their job to my AI.”
They should be serving something higher than their personal need to serve something.
But there’s a limit to demanding efficiency and these kinds of ideas often don’t fully realize.
There aren’t enough people who can participate in these ideals. And you have to accept a certain amount of baggage and waste within the system because its affairs and internal mechanics have got so bloated it has to be constantly fed to survive. It can be trimmed a bit temporarily, but will grow back up again to its preferred weight.
But it’s healthy it put it under pressure.
The left lies non stop to push its agenda for political power, but they never forget that political power for the left is the goal. If telling the truth about something will help them get power, they will stop lying and tell the truth about that thing. In this case, they are telling the truth about Musk and DOGE, and it’s resonating. The truth always resonates.
The ordinary white American is quite intelligent and perceptive enough to recognize exactly what DOGE is revealing itself to be: rebranded Corporate Reaganism. Just as tens of millions were not fooled by the media’s Trump is Hitler crusade, they will not be fooled about DOGE either.
I initially had a very positive view of DOGE. The elimination of USAID and DEI commisars, and the exposure of systemic waste, fraud, and bloat are very much a net benefit. However, the pell-mell manner in which DOGE has conducted mass layoffs is idiotic and will likely result in lesser government efficiency, not greater. And it is frankly insulting to anyone who has had stellar performance reviews and been rewarded for those with a promotion, only to be fired for “performance issues” because Musk and team (ignorantly?) misconstrued probationary status as demeritorious. Large scale layoffs of the federal workforce are warranted, but they should have been carefully considered and coordinated with cabinet secretaries and department heads. Trump needs to rein in his loose canon, Musk.

Huge swaths of the FedGov need to be abolished, for reasons of economic efficiency, the unsustainable budget deficit, and the fact that the FedGov is overwhelmingly leftist, as well as useless. I have a good friend whose brother is a lifetime employee of the Commerce Dept (the entirety of which should be terminated). He tells his brother that they “struggle” to find 40hrs of work to do per week (and that assumes positive value to this government work, which I question). And his brother confirms that most of his colleagues are Democrats; many are hardcore leftists. Indeed, every civil service employee I have ever known has been a leftist (my pal’s brother is actually a conservative, but he’s lazy, and his job is so cushy he won’t leave until retirement in a few years).
OTOH, my group has worried that DOGE is too scattershot in its approach, and will generate a backlash. If Trump voters understood how sheerly evil and wasteful most of the FedGov really is, they’d call for far greater terminations.

Reagan was terrible on immigration, and I was saying so at the time in the 80s. He was also terrible about actually cutting government: there was no “Reagan Revolution” restoring what the US is supposed to have at the Federal level – a strictly Constitutionally limited government, one whose proper purposes are defending the nation (military, border controls and naturalization policy), and conducting foreign relations (I would add environmental standards, because this is a genuinely new issue which has only arisen well after the Constitution’s ratification). A true conservative revolution wouldn’t just halt nonwhite immigration and deport all the illegals; it would restore the republic of 1787, which in turn would mean the complete abolition of the entirety of Federal Government socialism (and maybe state level socialism, too). The cuts would make DOGE and Musk look infantilistic.
But saying Reagan was bad on immigration is not an argument in favor of Big Socialist Government, or against Reagan’s dead-on correct criticisms of that worthless government. Nor is it relevant to assessing Reagan’s overall record, which was excellent. He really saved this country, at least in the short term, and advanced human liberty across the planet.
The genuine tragedy of Reagan was that his failure to halt immigration will be seen to have been a major cause of America’s longer term ruin (and I said this in 1990, after the fall of the Berlin Wall).

I am not a Biden supporter, but I am watching a man with no credentials for the office lead a powerful nation. I have witnessed this in private industry (many that I worked with) for many years where a “privileged” man becomes president of a company or industry and then delegates every responsibility to someone else for lack of any personal experience and ability. All one can hope for is that he has the minimal feel to appoint the right persons with the right qualifications all around. Unfortunately in the spirit of swamp draining his high paid (third leg) position also personifies the problem, along with his appointed [entertaining] fan club,, to now include a good mass of congress. What was publicly staged with selected media in a vipers nest versus private office for the Ukrainian president fighting for his country’s life yesterday, and the Ukrainian people was not only wrong, but was an imbecilic, unprofessional, flip flop political system of perpetual inconsistency, displayed to the world. (In addition, the attempt to extort 40% of their natural resources at the same time!!)
As for scuttling the work force and the subject of empty office space, etc. For some time we have been targeting gov. agencies that regulate not only good companies, but also free powerful profit chasers. Skilled mechanical, electronic, nuclear, textile Inspectors of commercial and military products for the FAA, NASA, all Military branches, and responsible services for FCC, FDA, EPA, medical research labs etc. etc. In QA service, we have been slowly lobbied out of the contractor facilities and back to the office while still providing signatures. When COVID hit we were told to not come to the offices anymore. When working from home we were attacked for not really performing our jobs. Now for lack of presence we sit back and enjoy complete chaos whose consequences are only beginning to be felt, while pumping what’s left of our incomes to Musk and Trump Industries INC. Sometimes one has to been there to understand, and not just subject to a media barf assembly line and political football rivalries.
There is a great book, now obscure, written in 1929 called “The Writing on the Wall”, by the US Ambassador to Rome, Richard Washburn Child, hard to find but worth the hunt.

We in government remember that well, and it was not caused by our “lack of work”, but money funding problems or disputes. At the time I was running tests on nuclear propulsion systems for the Navy while reporting to the program manager, our top Admiral in charge. Bush’s replacements with corporate contractors to oversee themselves also failed, and when Boeing corporate whistle blowers spoke out despite endangering their livelihood, they were murdered. I’ve read and learned from countless articles by Morris van de Camp. This post was the first genuinely stupid one from MvdC that I can recall.
There are activities in a society which are inherently the preview of the king; military operations, toll roads, law enforcement and courts, border patrolling, customs, and so much more. The bigger and more complex the society, the more roles government is required to step into. A government operation which appears simple requires an array of support, and it can grow in a way that might appear inefficient.
I am not an anarcho-capitalist; I believe governments are a necessary evil (if only because men are tribal by genetic nature; the possibility of war is thus omnipresent and ineradicable; the evolution of technology is such that wars will be won by states; therefore, in the modern world, we need a military establishment). I also agree with MvdC’s list of what activities inherently fall within the purview of the state.
But that list represents only a part of what government spends (tax) money on, and absent the military, the other necessities constitute only a very small part. Most of what the FedGov does is improper – ethically, Constitutionally, and empirically. Mostly, it either effectuates socialist wealth transfers, or destructively regulates private enterprise. It hires millions of bureaucrats to oversee these inherently improper programs. These programs, wherever politically possible, should be abolished, and their parasitical workforces laid off. Doing so would disproportionately benefit conservative whites, especially Middle Americans, as we constitute a disproportionate share of the private sector, and the types of whites who enter government service are overwhelmingly leftist.
Indeed, when you hear that “college educated white males” were the only demographic group that did not vote more for Trump in 2024 than in 2020 (yes, you read that correctly: even black females voted more for Trump in 2024 than they did in 2020 {of course, they still voted overwhelmingly for Kamala}; ONLY college educated white males voted less for Trump in 2024 than in 2020), it might cause great bewilderment. All my white male friends have college degrees, and most voted for Trump. What’s going on? Why did so many college (mis)educated whites not vote for Trump?
One part of that answer is that so many government positions require at least a college degree – and there are so damn many government jobs. Also, that government workers, at least in the US at this time, are disproportionately leftist, which might be in part for personal reasons – Democrats are the party of Big Government – though my impressions across 45 years of adulthood are that government, like universities and non-profit NGOs, attracts leftists more than rightists. So getting rid of FedGov “workers” not only benefits the economy (which is a good in itself, as well as a political good to extend GOP rule), but also weakens the Left, another good in itself which also has positive political ramifications.

The deeper the division of labor, the more deleterious is command and control statism. Socialism can work in small, tight knit, tribal units without economic complexity. But the more advanced an economy is, the more difficult for state commanders to engage in rational economic calculation (Mises), or make maximum use of specific, local, or tacit knowledge (Hayek, Michael Polanyi).

Reagan was a Democrat who became a Republican in 1962 because of the excessive 90 percent progressive income tax brackets of the 1950s, when he was employed as a feast-or-famine B-movie actor and television presenter. A high progressive income tax does not help you if your income is very high but very intermittent, or gig-dependent.
Likewise, Senator Goldwater was mainly interested in laissez-faire government regulations, low capital gains taxes, and liberal social issues like Gay marriage. I didn’t know sodomy was one of the Four Freedoms but I’m no expert.
I never actually met Barry Senior, but I have sat right next to the cordial Barry Junior at a University soiree and he looks just like the late Arizona Senator except without the horn-rimmed glasses that wouldn’t stay put on his nose and the Amateur Radio derring-do. The first thing that Barry Senior’s wife did when he died is dismantle his Ham Radio antenna farm. (I’ll bet that the HOA was ecstatic.)

I am not in any way against trimming back superfluous “alphabet agencies” or reducing government waste and corruption ─ or reevaluating Uncle Samuel’s somewhat nefarious role as “policeman of the world.” In my view, we should have reexamined our membership in NATO at the end of the Cold War.
Back in 1980, when Ronald Wilson Reagan was elected on the platform that government is the one and only problem, the Federal deficit was a manageable 100 billion dollars per annum that could be erased easily enough by raising some cash from a tariff or an excise tax, and by cutting back some bureaucratic waste and public sector pork in areas that could use it ─ and maybe reducing the priorities of a few overseas military bases.
But we don’t live in a world of petit-bourgeois craftsmen who can hang a shingle on the buckboard store front, or make a living as simple shopkeepers by the skin of our teeth. I doubt we ever were thus, but modern society is far too complex for that.
What we have is a sort of mixed Socialism for CEOs and Big Capital. They want to keep the profits private, but to transfer the costs of doing business to the public sector. And lower wages and benefits, and little or no job security for the worker bees, is always a big hit with the bosses.
We will never get anywhere with a system that wants to lower labor costs with open borders and by importing foreigners, especially cultural aliens, whilst spending spoils on them to cultivate the necessary generational votes as part of Democrat tax-happy political “machines.”
Both political parties are Globalists and want little more than to serve the dominant plutocratic interests and agendas on the “right side” of history ─ as outlined in their exclusive invites to semi-secret policy conferences with the financial elites at Alpine retreats or the Bilderberg Hotel.
They believe in free-trade and open borders so that Capital can find the most lucrative markets like ravenous locusts or migrating geese. When the Reaganites talked of trickle-down economics, they meant that your stake in it was getting drenched in bird poop
The problem is that these rationalized economic models of atomized and grossly-pluralized “interests” that may (sometimes) serve the big-line stock market, are the exact opposite of governance and economic growth that is beneficial to a thriving and healthy holistic organism. As “holistic organisms,” that in my view is exactly the lens of how we should be looking at races and nations.
I’m actually not against Musk in Trump’s “Kitchen Cabinet” doing some serious shakeup of the Federal bureaucracy. His rather reasonable asking of the bureacrats and civil servants to e-mail their bullet points of “what do you do here” to him and their own supervisor is not an unreasonable request.
Musk’s gambit immediately identified some problem-personnel who are not loyal to the Administration, something that Trump seems better equipped to handle now than in his first term, where in the spirit of bipartisanship or on the advice of his Jewish son-in-law, he would appoint another Democrat apparatchik ─ only to be surprised that the staff only maintained their level best in undermining his Administration.
Unfortunately, Musk will likely not be able to trim much fat and waste, at least not in sectors that really matter. From my experience during the Obama recession (no, I’m not a Fed) for all the managment types and officials who were buffing apples to signal their public virtue in reducing “redundant staff,” they never touched the worst sinecures and diversity hires. Face it, the BBW who runs the HR office and hasn’t got a clue, is going to be the last one that they ever let go.
Public servants still have some semblance of health and retirement benefits, and job security that is increasingly rare in the private sector ─ and barely ever existed at all with small businesses. I don’t think that health, retirement, and some job security like progressive discipline and termination only for (justified) cause is a bad thing.
No, we don’t live in a world of shopkeepers. The world that we live in is one where multinational corporantions have more belly and brass than many whole sovereign nation-states. That is a potential problem.
There is just no way that Mr. and Mrs. palefaced punchclock will ever be able to negotiate on decent terms with the modern multinational corporation ─ not even with collective bargaining ─ because all the firms and their government minions have to do is close down the entire plant and send the jobs overseas to guarantee their lower labor costs, and probably getting better tax breaks to boot.

Libertarians think that public service contains no creative germs whatsoever. I strongly disagree with that notion and I’ve had twenty-five years experience. That government is necessarily less efficient is not a truism either.
We either have, for example, decent postal systems or libraries or we don’t have them. But privatizing public services is bound to lead to inefficient (though lucrative for some) nonsense ─ like having a gazillion different official languages, a Babel of computer operating systems, copy paper sizes, parochial units of measurement, etc.
A simple concept like the silicon chip revolution from the 1960s to today was a direct spin-off of the government Space Program. I doubt that private industry could have ever ponied up the funding for the dicey research and development necessary to overcome their quarterly profits mentality to think that far forward, otherwise than by the incentives of cost-plus government contracts. And with so many high frontiers to choose from, it should not be necessary to have to go to war every time that we need a quantum leap in technological advancement.
Sometimes firing the air traffic controllers is a good thing and it gets rid of the usual Dindus, and temp staff that are getting paid too much overtime because Woke management is nothing if not cheap and doesn’t want to bite the bullet to justify some qualified permanent hires that are harder to just let go. Other times, the planes, trains and automobiles literally fall from the sky.
Repairing society and making progress is an inevitable part of living in it ─ but I guess repairing needless boo-boos is at least good job security for some.

Honestly, I don’t know how to respond to this monster comment. There is much I agree with, some I virulently disagree with. You touch upon so many complex issues. But I stand by my comment, with a few additional remarks.
Hard (sound) money is a very good thing, especially for oppressed whites, and in particular, working class whites without much or any investment in equities markets. It’s the wealthy who benefit from what could seriously be called “Federal Reserve welfare”. (And from an ethnowarfare perspective, who comprises a large percentage of the wealthy?) I suppose someday I should write something on this.
I agree with government funding of basic scientific research, as this frequently leads to innovative new technologies and commercial applications. It is also a necessity for the neverending military arms race. The Ethnostate not only must have a very large military budget; it will also need a Big Science investment arm precisely as you discuss. I consider such government-funded research to be part of “(ethno)national defense”, broadly conceived.
One can be a strong supporter of capitalism for both ethical and economic reasons without also being a libertarian, let alone an open borders fool. That perfectly describes my position. Capitalism is superior for collective/national wealth maximization, as well as for national character building and popular resilience, and the Ethnostate will need all the economic growth it can muster, especially for its first few decades, when its survival against an array of hostile powers will be uncertain. The welfare state breeds sloth and an attitude of entitled parasitism.

is not simply, but profoundly incorrect. I’m sorry, but I cannot do justice to a critique of it other than in an essay. While the scale of man’s industrial assault on the biosphere requires ever greater collective (government) monitoring, as do the ever widening possibilities for the weaponization of changing technologies, as society grows more complex overall, government intrusions must be correspondingly minimized. Basically, government’s role should be reduced overall, but in the aforementioned areas, intensified – and this intensification will be more effective the less government intrudes into other areas. Again, this is a complex topic which requires a grounding in Mises and Hayek to understand my side of the argument (of course, the Austrians have their failings, too, but those are not economic per se, but rather, involve areas outside of the discipline of economics which nevertheless heavily determine economic success).

Anecdotal, but most of the Forest Service employees in my town, at least the ones that I consort with, are that peculiar breed of European-American males whose politics are decidedly feminine. None have ideas outside mass media boundaries, history is learned from films, and they posture about what a bad guy Trump is and believe Elon Musk to be “stupid.” Almost to a tee descended from Germans and Scandinavians, absolutely competent at their jobs and at life, physically fit, engaged, active, solid marriages, families – with the political acumen of 16-year-old girls. The newly hired employees who got canned, however, are useless, for the most part. There’s an assumption that just because they work for the government they can’t or shouldn’t be fired like all of the rest of us who don’t suck off the governmental teat. The employees of collectives in town (healthcare, education, government) skew left and were hardcore vax enforcers, while the small company owners and freelancers and businessmen (for the most part) are libertarian types, slowly becoming more radicalized. These types unfortunately don’t have as solid family structures (e.g., more divorces, problem kids, etc…) and aren’t in any way organized.
Very well recognized. Unfortunately, this unpleasant trait has apparently also been preserved in the United States.
