Several months ago, I polled my family to plan our summer vacation and we settled on a trip to Washington DC I unwittingly chose the week of the America 250 celebrations, and while I’m as aware as anyone that Washington DC is no longer a welcome place for my family, I nonetheless wanted the experience for both myself and my children, as I’ve never been inside the Beltway. It was only after plans were booked that I happened across the America 250 publicity, and I was pleasantly surprised by the coincidence. (more…)

On June 22, 2026, during an appearance on the Can’t Be Censored podcast, Tucker Carlson said “I’m out” of the Republican Party and there was “no chance” he would support them moving forward. The specific reason he gave is the catastrophic Iran War, which was fought for Israeli/Jewish interests, not American interests.

On July 1, 2026, the Columbia Journalism Review published an exclusive interview with Carlson. In it, Tucker announced “I’m going to help build a third party.” The party will be populist in nature, focused strictly on the common good of American citizens. (more…)

Part 2 of 2 (Part 1)

Last time around we discussed Suicide of a Nation, a generic but perfectly serviceable beginner’s guide to the intentional immigration-based destruction of Great Britain by the former academic turned TV presenter and Reform UK politician Matt Goodwin. So far, we have focused upon how his book was critiqued by opponents on the United Kingdom’s Left. Although Goodwin has critics further to the Right to deal with, too — namely, people like us, who you may have thought would be broadly sympathetic to Matt’s cause. Evidently not. (more…)

A ceramics business in Stoke, in the Midlands of England, closed this month. Moorcroft Potteries’ problems were economic, but they were not failings of the business itself, rather the imposition of new financial strains on the company which it could not support. Facing the highest energy prices in Europe (by some margin), carbon taxes with which other countries do not have to weight their prices for British import, and yet another rise in National Insurance contributions (which has always been income tax by another name), the old and respected company went into official receivership, the executioner’s block of the business world. Judd Blevins was host Greg Johnson and co-host David Zsutty‘s (Counter-Currents, Telegram, Twitter) very special guest on the most recent broadcast of Counter-Currents Radio, and it is now available for download and online listening.

Blevins, until recently a City Councilman in Enid, Oklahoma, was subjected to a recall election earlier this month that he lost — which was hardly surprising given that he was opposed not only by his Republican challenger, but by the Enid political establishment, the state of Oklahoma’s Democratic Party, the “Enid Social Justice Committee,” and the mainstream media at both the local and national levels. Judd Blevins was recently recalled from his position as a City Councilman in Enid, Oklahoma. This was not because of any malfeasance on his part, but because he has views and past associations which are deemed as “problematic” in Our Democracy.™

Blevins received 40% of the vote to his opponent Cheryl Patterson’s 60%. The election had an extremely high turnout, with 1,390 voting in the recall as compared to 808 when Blevins was first elected. (more…)

In December of this year, Ilya Somin reviewed Christopher Zurn’s book Splitsville, USA: A Democratic Argument for Breaking up the United States, which was published in May. Somin offers several good-faith critiques of Zurn’s position on national divorce, and even praises Splitsville as “. . . the most significant, fully developed, and intellectually respectable, defense of the claim that breaking up the union is actually a good idea.” Somin’s main concerns are the feasibility and effectiveness of a national divorce. As a staunch proponent of national divorce myself, I would like to reply to Somin’s counter-arguments. (more…)

We use case studies in law and business to learn about how rules and principles work in real life. This is apparently not so in politics — or at least Republican politics. Trump’s victory in 2016 should be the model for any Republican candidate who is serious about winning, especially since that victory was buttressed by a string of defeats both before and after it.

The special elections earlier this month continued the trend of the GOP snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Andy Beshear, the incumbent white Democrat who is the Governor of Kentucky, defeated his black Republican opponent, Daniel Cameron. (more…)
