The Mormons’ Minority Strategy

Robert Hampton

Romney as a missionary to France in the 1960s

1,234 words

Anti-whiteness is a fact of life in America. Many whites who want to go to a good college, get a good job, or just be considered a better person will attempt a flight from white. They will try to find some non-white identity they can grasp onto, or pretend a perfectly white ethnicity (such as Italian or Polish) make them non-white. Others will cling to an identity that just makes them a special minority, whether it’s their religion or their sexual orientation.

One white group that embraces minoritization is Mormons. The Church of the Latter-Day Saints has always faced hostility from America’s majority. They were literally hunted down and murdered in the 19th century, but today they mostly face jokes rather than lynchings. For the last 100 years or so, Mormons have worked hard to depict themselves as the ultimate white Americans. They stressed service in the military, hard work, thrift, sobriety, faith, conservative social values, and clean-cut attire. They strived to meet the stereotype of 1950s Americana. And unlike every other church, they explicitly defended white interests and opposed integration in the 1960s. In more recent years, they served as the bulwark against gay marriage.

The last fight, along with their traditional American image, endeared them to many conservatives. The white majority no longer saw them as dangerous heretics, but as defenders of the historic American nation. However, Mormons no longer want to be uber-white Americans; they want to assimilate to the new, diverse order. They now characterize themselves as a persecuted minority that stands with the Other. They support mass immigration and oppose Trumpism. They’re now the ultimate white suburbanites who vote Democrat to restore “decency.”

You can buy Greg Johnson’s Here’s the Thing here.

This new approach was highlighted in a December essay in the Atlantic. Political journalist McKay Coppins, a Mormon, wrote how Mormons became American. Coppins argues his co-religionists assimilated to an American ideal that no longer holds weight. The Anglo-Protestant culture is dying and middle-class values are held in contempt. The current ideal is Black Lives Matter, a movement the Mormon church supports. Coppins insists throughout his piece that Mormons are a minority group. He shares his own experiences growing up and being teased for his faith at school. He recounts the hostility that he faced as a missionary from random strangers. He was particularly incensed by a past employer stereotyping Mormons in a company-wide meeting. He writes of his disappointment with Mitt Romney not emphasizing his particular faith during the 2012 presidential election. According to Coppins, Romney’s all-American persona, the same one cultivated by the church, proved to be a liability rather than an asset. The rest of America was no longer like Leave It To Beaver, and the Republican’s image seemed too anachronistic for voters.

Coppins laments Mormon deference to the American majority and its tolerance of slights. When told that the reason his church did nothing about The Book of Mormon musical was because they lacked cultural cachet, he had a revelation about Mormon niceness. “It was a coping mechanism, born of a pulsing, sweaty desperation to be liked that I suddenly found humiliating.”

The essay strongly implies that Mormons need no longer cope — they just need to reform themselves to better advocate for minority groups. Coppins praises the church for standing with BLM and working with groups like the NAACP, but he believes more work must be done. He supports more black leaders and more “anti-racism” theology from the church. Coppins also wants Mormons to support homosexuality, even though leaders say it violates biblical law. The journalist thinks the Bible and church teachings should matter less than the interests of his own class.

Coppins concludes his piece with the hope that Mormons can offer an example for a troubled America: “What holds the country together is its conviction in certain ideals — community, democracy, mutual sacrifice — that it once possessed, and now urgently needs to reclaim. If Mormonism has anything to offer that effort, it will have to come from a confident Church, one that is unafraid of owning up to its mistakes and embracing what makes it distinct.”

The church essentially offers “decency” to the nation, but it is a decency that allows intruders to walk over us. The Mormon Way makes you smile as a black guy pummels you. It’s why liberals now have a strange new respect for the caffeine abstainers. They’ve forgiven Mormons for their opposition to gay marriage and cherish their support for mass immigration and hostility toward nationalism. Mormons now see themselves as one of America’s many minorities rather than the arch-defenders of old stock America. They will stand against Muslim bans and other measures that harm their fellow minorities. This is how you assimilate to the New America.

Mormons are more problematic than Methodists because its members actually follow the church. The vast majority of Protestants and Catholics in America ignore what their church leaders say on politics; Mormons don’t. While nearly all Christian denominations endorse mass immigration and Black Lives Matter, the Mormon flock is more inclined to take that endorsement to heart. Mormons risk ostracism from the community if they don’t toe the line.

Minoritization is a tempting strategy for whites. White privilege them nothing except denied job opportunities and endless lectures. Becoming a minority gives you elite status and allows you to signal your allegiance to the rainbow coalition. Most whites don’t have the Mormon advantage, but they can seek other avenues to minoritization. It could be their sexual orientation, their preferred entertainment, or maybe even their ethnicity (“The Irish are not white!”). Mormon minoritization is going to make them hostile to any attempts to save the historic American nation. The church hierarchy cares too much about assimilating to multicultural America to resist it. The new America will reward them by demanding they change their teachings on gays, but will at least pat them on the head for being good Christians.

There is one positive lesson to take from the Mormons. Many on the Right like the idea of a “Benedict Option” where we try to escape society through isolated communities. I’ve previously argued against this as a bad model for us. The Mormons present an alternative model. They no longer run to the hills and pretend their compound is the entire world. They go forth in the world and obtain influential positions. This has helped dispel their past pariah status and earned them clout within our society. They still have their communities, but they extend to the halls of power. They don’t try to escape the world — they try to shape it.

That power helped them to defeat gay marriage. Now it’s being used to import more immigrants.

The Mormons believe their power depends on their subservience to the present order. That will make them a foe to our cause.

Maybe the old Protestants were right to see Mormons as a threat back in the 19th century.

Identifying as an Italian or a Pole or an Irishman or a German, etc.,actually makes Whites stronger. By embracing our ethnic heritage we can help our children better appreciate their ancestors and maybe show loyalty to their fellow Palefaces. Forming ethnic heritage organizations gets us around the anti-White fervor that attacks all White organizations. The Sons of Italy, the Irish Hibernian societies are great examples of how to form our defense against our enemies.

At the turn of the century, one in every three adult American males was a member of a fraternal organization, many of them ethnic. They’re all gone now. What you’re proposing is a solution that has already failed.

We will bind around ‘White’ or we won’t bind at all. The enemy doesn’t see ‘irish’. The enemy see’s ‘White’.

That is exactly correct. Going back to the early 90s, I never liked the paleocon strategy of trying to idiotically resurrect “American regionalism”. I even got into a public argument with the (highly learned, but foolish) faileocon asshole Thomas Fleming at a speaking event back then. I pointed out that talk about “localism”, “regionalism”, “states’ rights”, “front porch politics”, neo-Confederacy / League of the South, was pathetic avoidance of what anyone could and should see was the real issue: preserving white America, and protecting white Americans and our interests. It was moronic then and pathological now, to pretend that any issue other than race is controlling (today, is even relevant).

Sam Francis, of course, most prominently and nearly alone among the paleocons, understood this. Sadly, even that brilliant man could fall flat. Recall the famous mid-90s debate in AR between Francis and Richard McCulloch (maybe also Michael Masters, I forget – what happened to him, by the way?) on “Separation or Conquest”. Francis made the case, in his typically eloquent way, against racial partitioning; McCulloch (or Masters) argued for the Ethnostate. Even a quarter century ago, I felt Francis was being naive. Things were way too far gone, not just demographically, but in terms of white indoctrination and general racial weakness. The only answer was and remains separating out the “white wheat” from the white garbage, and then fighting for racio-territorial sovereignty.

That was the only time I can recall ever disagreeing with Francis. We Fight For the White, or all is lost.

In 2016 a former Mormon Senator from Utah was in the hospital near death. He chose to spend his remaining days on earth wandering the halls of the hospital trying to find women wearing hijabs so he could apologize to them on behalf of America. I used to think Mormons were salt of the earth types, now they’re just super cucks.

And in so doing, will reveal its ignorance of Christianity.

Christianity implies acceptance of the historic creeds, the Athanasian and the Nicene. Mormonism is not credal Christianity. If anything it is remindful of the heresies described by Irenæus or other ante-Nicene fathers, such as those of Marcion or Valentinus. A learned canonist of my acquaintance once pointed out the similarities between Mormonism and the heresies for which Giordano Bruno was condemned.

They are now the cult of Romney, only matter of time before they will be most enthusiastic for anal. Pedo, Tranny, and what ever comes down the pike.
    They are revolting.
The only thing I don’t think accurate in this article is their participation in military service.
Romney has several sons, not a one did a stint. Very few do, I can count on one hand how many Mormons I ran into.

Mormons also support anti-Whiteness because most of their new converts are non-White. They have heavily imported Samoans and Mestizos and encourage their blonde-haired blue-eyed daughters to marry and breed with them. Mormon demographics are changing more rapidly than the rest of America, and the clean-cut ‘decent’ White Mormon will soon be little more than a memory. Ironic, in that the original Mormons were of strong English-American heritage. Their genealogy website features nothing but photos of Mestizos and sub-Saharans, although the majority of their genetic researchers are White. Mormons are running away from their past and their heritage as rapidly as they can, and their new diverse members will run away from their reputation for sobriety, chastity, and hard work.

And Mormons well within my own lifetime were highly racist, and widely understood as such.

The Satanic ideology of diversitism really is the weapon annihilating the white race. Our genetically inherited inability to resist race-cuckholdry, except for the precious few of us who can see reality clearly, is our Achilles’ Heel. The ONLY answer is “white nationalist nationalism” (NOT white nationalism). Most whites are unsalvageable, utter genetic defectives. We must come to see, not whites, but prowhites, as our own tribe, and do whatever is necessary to achieve defensible territory and political sovereignty for ourselves alone.

I am an atheist but if being religious would help protect and defend whites I would certainly pretend to believe and would go to mass every single Sunday (or every day if that would help).

Mormons especially have so many restrictions – remaining a virgin until marriage, no drinking, 3-4 hour church services, no coffee, tea or the like. Why put yourself through that if you are just following the same anti-white and liberal line as everyone else? Why not just enjoy life rather than submit to a cold, stringent religion that hates you for being white? Better yet, why not fight back against that religion?

This is gunna be long. I’ve been thinking about the LDS a lot as a result of observing Mormons in my part of the world. This isn’t the sort of reflection I have anywhere to make in person, so, lucky you all, here goes:

Bernie, I’d conclude that the Mormon “restrictions” (including those you mention–“remaining a virgin until marriage, no drinking, 3-4 hour church services, no coffee, tea or the like”) are rooted in a white/Western culture of forward thinking, respecting the past, and identifying and taking control of one’s own drives/lusts…

…even as many appear to be going Full Rainbow/diversicult/globalist with their denomination.

I’m not seeing that they realize what is happening. I base that on things like seeing LDS medical specialist friends spending X months and Y tens of thousands of dollars each year to go provide free medical services in Africa…

…when right here in this community people are suffering, untreated, for lack of the same care. It’s even worse now with the Dem governors’ lockdowns and destruction of town/city centers.

Poor whites are suffering badly—the “homeless camps” are loathsome places full of appalling people. But somehow these ostensible Christians see the faraway blackskins as more deserving of ministry. I have concluded that part of the hatred of these poor whites—many of them veterans, and/or destroyed originally by Sackler poisons or broken by work—derives from an innate anger at them: they were supposed to man up and be perpetual tax mules for the blacks and browns and women. So in their time of need, they get derision rather than help.

The blacks and browns and women aren’t expected to support anybody ever. Their fecklessness is excused and celebrated. It is even central to the new secular/state religion.

What is happening among the Mormons I witness and know is that their diversity worship props up and puts ahead of themselves, their ancestors, and descendants those whose lives and peoples are a mess precisely because they lack the self-directed capacity for having and institutionalizing self control (present), deep memory (past), and planning (future).

Thus are the great-great-grandsons of pioneers converted by their denomination not into godly men, but instead into the new priesthood: feminized 19th century urban settlement house workers, or 20th century welfare state government employees, or 21st century social workers and outreach cogs on the Big Pharma/corporate media plantation. This is also another form of state inflicted transgender, IMO, but let’s not digress there.

The above transubstantiation likely applies to any of the mainstream denominations, not just Mormons.

The phenomenon is a depraved race to the demographic/distributional left on all variables. It poses as virtue and necessarily destroys anything higher/to the right…

…as the ultimate transformative sacrifice in the new global religion, according to its twisted eschatology.

(If the demographic/distributional left-curve dwellers could have created this upward/rightward movement for themselves, they would have. They can’t. They are not inspired by its values and vision so much as they burn with envy when exposed to its material outcomes. They are confused and angered by its complexity to the point where they will destroy those material outcomes in bacchantic frenzies. Then they demand more as children and as slaves do, plus what they demand they can’t sustain when handed it. Once there are no longer enough welfare/tax mules to sustain them in their demands, which they destroy upon receiving, the effect is destruction of civilization.)

That demonic/primitive process is now masked with the 21st century new religion of “equity.” This homogenizing, faceless, mindless conformity and redistribution claims to despise the very things it demands be handed over as What Is Best In Life…while teaching the gibs-takers to demand more of the same…while reviling and destroying it. Twerking over the burning rubble, the takers are taught to conclude they have achieved a magnificent sacrifice that serves the Most High…with a coda of “now moar gibs, white man, to replace what we broke.”

Meanwhile, behind this entire process lurk those who profit from chaos and mayhem. (It’s obviously engineered; the left-curvers rarely exert such concerted effort.)

Thus when Mormons apply their particular “restrictions,” they apply whiteness to people who never would have come to that on their own and are handed it like any other form of welfare. Aid becomes dependency, dependency becomes entitlement. That which is not chthonic is necessarily imposed. That which is imposed lacks wellsprings or taproot.

The only way out I can see is for Mormons in this configuration is to recognize the terrible racism of their ways and stop demanding these “restrictions” you grumble about. To prove they aren’t whitey. Or to cling to those “restrictions” as the ship sinks under the waves. “Well, at least I still have my magic underwear and don’t touch caffeine or alcohol!”

Which I figure is as inevitable as the destruction of everything good they’ve created, like genealogical research and community canning kitchens. These two phenomena obviously reflect the white sin of existing while rooted in lived experience/family connection in the past and future time orientation going forward.

The past is racist. The future must be great-reset to a social-media-televised reality show featuring endless Golgotha knockoffs where Situationist street theater blood sacrifice never leads to resolution, deepening, or transcendence, just more confusion, anger, and blood.

With someone later picking up the “distressed” “real estate” at pennies on the dollar.

Bernie, the Mormon life-structuring practices you note, I view less as “cold” and “stringent” than as one civilizational legacy of people who learned how to control their animal drives as men.

A man beholden to lust, dependent on intoxicants, who cannot find the time or motivation to gather with his own people 3-4 hours once a week, who cannot see beyond present frustrations or limits or lusts to create and sustain a family legacy via marriage and child-rearing—he will be as brutally driven by forces beyond his control as any Third Worlder with an IQ of 85 destroying downtown Minneapolis or Portland or Seattle at the behest of hidden masters. The man lacking self mastery will repeatedly, compulsively loot his ancestors and his descendants, rather than Foot Locker or Target. Talk about “cold” and “stringent”!

Globalism and its equity cult is a grotesque religion, obviously (sadly) in its ascendancy. Like all Dionysian cults—including the cult of “I’m an atheist but”—it springs from an ancient, grotesque, feminized mentality that is only temporarily pacified in its primitive motivating violence when whiffing heme, smoke, and pheromones…and wailing about its misfortunes.

You effectively said, “Show me a better way, and I’ll do it!”

The whole point is to see it on your own, and get there by your own efforts. The Logos is at the bottom of Heisenberg’s cup; how that anoints the human—Christos—is for you to discover as well.

Thank you for listening. “I’m sorry this is so long, I didn’t have time to make it shorter.”

      Del

If Joseph Smith had been Black, and the LDS Church a Black Church, our elites would be falling down in worship of him and of the whole enterprise as a miracle of resistance and resourcefulness. It attracts so much derision (eg, the scornfully condescending Broadway musical, the South Park episode, hatred for support of Prop 8) because it is a White church. At least in its homeland. And certainly in the way our media have framed it.

But it is fully on line with the multicultural refugee-loving suicide pact that far too many of our fellow foolish White have signed on to.

Ironic. As you say, if they think they can save themselves by playing minority victim, no one will buy that ploy but themselves.

Mormonism is a lie. A teenage conman became a false prophet by making up tales about an angel visiting him and giving him divine revelations. This individual then parlayed his “prophethood” into power, money, and sex with underage girls. Joseph Smith, in other words, acted exactly like Mohammed did, which makes me suspect he got a hold of an early biography of Old Moe and decided to emulate him. Being born of this egregious lie, Mormonism could never have become anything but a force for evil. Truth matters.

Mormanism is just another nutty outgrowth of the Protestant experience in America. All of these things; from the zillions of stupid denominations of cuckolded Protestantism, Mormonism, Christian Science to Scientology to Charles Manson come strictly out of the American experience; the notion of being blessed in some way, to be ‘free’ in the New World and a desire of codifying that blessedness and establishing it as a kind of blessedness separate from prior forms. They are an expressions of America.

These cults should never be mistaken for religious truth or freedom. Rather they are a product. A product of nutty unrestrained American sentiment, the ultimate manifestations of ‘freedom’ – that new religions and practices could be created on a whim to fit ‘how I feel’ or matches to ones circumstances, and that America is uniquely blessed and that We are uniquely blessed for being here and that God has especially blessed America.

I wonder if that’s why mormons proselytize so frequently in other countries to give it more credence to themselves.

That’s an apt observation. I would add, that it translates on a political level where everyone could pursue their little heresies to varying degrees of tolerance. This array of acceptable beliefs is diminishing by each passing day now, ironically bringing America closer to the rest of the world, despite all the kooky beliefs being propagated. “The Shining City upon a hill” awaits its judgement before history as does the Enlightenment era.

I’m from the forth or fifth generation of “Saints” that migrated to Utah from Illinois and Missouri back in the mid-1800s. Both paternal and maternal sides were early converts to the Mormon faith by way of early missionaries in Europe. Our families migrated to the U.S. to establish this new “work”. I no longer consider myself to be LDS or Mormon. At the dawn of the internet becomiing widely available, I was certain that the church would lose members in droves once contrary information was widely available about the history and of the church, Joe Smith and ol’ Brigham. I was certain that people would have a similar reaction to the lies that I had had. At about 25 years after making that prediction, I’m relieved I never made any wagers about my prediction. It’s all rather bleak and depressing to realize how wilfully ignorant some are.

I thought the same thing about the internet and race. It would be The Great Redpilling Tool. Events have proven me wrong. I was always awakened, but I dramatically honed my correct instincts by means of searching out white nationalist and race realist academic literature. I did this across the 80s, when it was much much harder to access prowhite materials. IOWs, I cared enough and was intellectually curious enough to seek out truth. Today, truth is (for the moment) vastly more accessible. Just visit CC or AR! But only a slightly larger number care to.

Conclusion? Whites as a race are losers. We are also an evolutionary dead-end. I ask every white preservationist a question. Are you serious, really SERIOUS, about saving our race? I mean, is this game or an excuse to vent or an in-club to you, or a sacred cause? Because if the latter, then you have to be utterly non-utopian about what we face, not just in terms of the War on Whites and the global demographic shift (a Third World population explosion brought about by white long-term idiocy, the indiscriminate, pathologically altruistic sharing of our technologies and therapeutics and even food supplies with our racial competition cum enemies), which is what is ultimately driving nonwhite power, but our own race’s inadequacies. Why aren’t more whites Awakened by now? The outrages and hypocrisies and evidence of the War on Whites just keep piling up, yet growth in white consciousness proceeds at a snail’s pace.

There are many variables in this narcotizing phenomenon, but behind them all has to be some kind of evolutionary defect in our race itself. The proof of this is the widely shared behavior of whites everywhere when faced with similar integrationist and miscegenationist moral propaganda. I used to think American race cuckery was a (way overdone) function of our history of racial slavery. But why are white Canadians on average even worse? And even if the further excuse if proffered that Canadians have their own First Nations issues, what is the excuse for racial sniveling among Scandinavians, who had no First Nations (except maybe the white Lapplanders), and never enslaved other races, or practiced colonialism in the modern era? And yet Swedes find morally resonant the same multicultural propaganda as white Americans. How could this be possible, except as evidence of racial-familial resemblance? Clearly, a large proportion of whites are race-abnegators by their very genetically-inscribed natures. A possibly still larger number are easily persuadable by antiracist moral arguments, even if the result of instantiating the implications of those arguments is to remove the conditions for white perpetuity, thereby inexorably leading the race down the observable path to extinction.

Prowhites must take our race’s weakness into account. If we wish our people to live, white nationalist film reviews, while interesting and fun, aren’t going to get us there. It is time to coalesce around the idea that the ONLY way our race will be preserved is via personal white preservationist ingathering (along with white family formation and proper child rearing) into future defensible, racially “secessionable” territory, and concurrent racial awakening work in parallel with pushing the goal of eventual political sovereignty. Most whites are useless, and their genomes will eventually go racially extinct. That is only a matter of time. Our task is to save the remnant, which can only be effectuated by segregating the saved from the unsaveable, and then eventually acquiring sovereign physical territory, and the means to defend it in perpetuity.
