It was 16 years ago, on June 11, 2010, that Counter-Currents went online. Counter-Currents was founded on the conviction that, as Jonathan Bowden put it, “One man alone in a room with a computer . . . can change the world. A few people alone in a room, if they cleave to an idea whose time has come, can still change the world.”
In the past 16 years, men with computers have moved white identity politics from the margins to the mainstream: ideas like white genocide, the Great Replacement, and national divorce are now mainstream. Now mainstream conservative voices are calling for complete shutdowns of Third World immigration. That means: non-white immigration. No single individual or website can take credit for such a shift. But without our movement, it would not have happened.
This time last year, however, I was worried. Our ideas were going mainstream. But I was still banned from such platforms as YouTube, X, and Facebook and censored by search engines. So I feared Counter-Currents was becoming irrelevant. Why search long and hard for ideas that were available on every platform? Moreover, the Trump administration was actually implementing policies we favored. My fears seemed confirmed by an ominous downturn in our fundraising, which persisted throughout the year and forced us to cut back for this year. I feared that it was more than the economy. Maybe we were just . . . redundant.
Attempts to rejoin major platforms were rebuffed, one within an hour! What made Counter-Currents so toxic? Two things. First, we dealt frankly with the Jewish Question from the start. Second, we don’t just complain about race, immigration, and the problems of multiculturalism, then tell you to vote GOP and pray for the best. We actually play a much longer game and advocate for real solutions: closed borders, Remigration, homogeneous white homelands.
I am less worried this year. The Trump administration and the MAGA movement are suffering a breathtaking collapse for one reason: Trump’s fatal entanglement with Jewish power. The truth has never been clearer: You can’t have an Israel-first wing in an America-first movement, or any white identitarian movement, for that matter. We’ll keep broadcasting that message loud and clear. Let’s hope our movement finally learns this lesson, in America and around the white world.
Beyond that, as political ideas become mainstreamed, they also become dumbed-down, distorted, and even hijacked and subverted. Thus platforms that maintain ideological consistency and call out ideological errors will always be necessary.
This is a very long game. To sustain it, we need institutions that think long-term, maintain clear and consistent messaging, and can sustain themselves over not just decades but generations and centuries. That’s our goal, and with your help, we will succeed.
In our first 16 years, Counter-Currents has published more than 14,000 articles, reviews, and other items. We have also published 106 books. From the start, Counter-Currents aimed at creating an Anglophone version of the European New Right, but since English is now the lingua franca, our audience has always been global. Our aim is to promote the metapolitical conditions for white identity politics around the world.
What did we do in Year Sixteen?
- The core of Counter-Currents is our webzine. We published a total of 837 posts, including 41 podcasts and 5 videos. I also lost count of the appearances I and other Counter-Currents writers made on other platforms, livestreams, and podcasts.
- Our audience has remained solid. We now reach more than five times the audience we had in 2015 to 2017, the glory days of the Alt Right.
- We continue to attract and nurture high-quality writers, like Keith Woods, Rob Rundo, Karel Veliky, Carlos Pinedo Cestafe, Josh Neal, Jayant Bhandari, Gabriel Anderson, Henry Sinica, Jane American, Jack Hamill, Tommy Traddles, Brett Redmayne-Titley, Elmar Böhme, Hugo Raven, Nicolas d’Or Esmé, John Novak, and Zuzana Adamson.
- Counter-Currents organized a weekend retreat/conference in Rome, another weekend retreat/conference in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, as well as smaller events in Austin, Atlanta, Seattle, and Orange County.
- I spoke for the first time at the American Renaissance conference.
- I also spoke at the Institute for Historical Review.
- I spoke at the Finnish Awakening conference.
- Earlier this year, I started building up Counter-Currents’ Substack page The New Nationalism as another outlet for our work. It has grown dramatically. If you are on Substack, please subscribe!
- Counter-Currents also published the following books:
- Greg Johnson, Tyranny & Wisdom: Plato’s Greater Alcibiades & Gorgias
- Greg Johnson, Loving Our Own: Nationalism, Populism, & White Identity Politics
- Greg Johnson, In Defense of Prejudice, second ed.
- F. Roger Devlin, Sexual Utopia in Power, expanded ed.
- Greg Johnson, The Philosopher Is In
In Year Seventeen you can expect more of the same but better.
- More of the same great writers like F. Roger Devlin, David Zsutty, Spencer Quinn, Beau Albrecht, Mark Gullick, Collin Cleary, Lipton Matthews, Ed Dutton, Dave Chambers, Jef Costello, Steven Tucker, Stephen Paul Foster, Morris V. de Camp, Alex Graham, Endeavour, James O’Meara, Clarissa Schnabel, Ondrej Mann, and Keith Woods.
- More of the same compelling audio and video content: interviews, panels, AMAs, and video versions of classic Counter-Currents essays.
- More Substack content.
- Counter-Currents will publish the following books in Year 17:
- F. Roger Devlin’s Not Hooking Up, his long-awaited sequel to Sexual Utopia in Power
- Domenico Di Tullio’s novel about CasaPound, Nessun Dolore (No Pain)
- Alain de Benoist’s Germanica in English translation
- The first volume in our new edition of Jonathan Bowden’s rare and mostly unavailable six-volume, 2600-page, 1995 Collected Works. To support this project and ensure that you get one of the 200 limited-edition, numbered hardcovers, be sure to subscribe today.
- A new edition of Tito Perdue’s novel The Node
- Several books of my own are also in the works, essay collections entitled The Battle of the Books and Our Sacred Honor, the sixth Trevor Lynch film review collection, a new book on Plato called Plato on Wisdom, and my own take on The Great Replacement.
Finally, Counter-Currents will continue to organize real-world events:
- This fall, Counter-Currents will be relaunching the New York Forum. We are also organizing meetups with our writers, readers, and donors in Atlanta, Seattle, and Orange County.
- Next Spring, Counter-Currents will hold another European retreat.
- Counter-Currents will have a table at this year’s American Renaissance Conference. Don’t miss it!
- Be sure to become a Subscriber to Counter-Currents to hear about our Real-World Events in your area.
Beginning in 2011, Counter-Currents launched its annual fundraiser on each birthday. This year, we started on May Day. Our goal is $300,000. We are off to a strong start. So far we have raised $57,677.69. Thank you! We used up our first $20,000 matching grant so quickly that another donor has offer a grant of the same size to keep the momentum going. Let’s try to use it up by the end of June.
There are many ways to help out. The easiest is to make a credit card donation:
You can explore all your donation options on our newly redesigned Donate page.
Remember: those who fight for a better world live in it today.
Thank you again for your loyal readership and generous support.

Congrats on 16 years!
Since David Zsutty has mentioned on the podcast that he has an interest in astrology, I feel like I should point out that June 11th, 2010 was numerologically significant. It’s a double 11 day (being both the 11th day of the month and a universal 11 day: 6 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 11).
Double 11s are considered very auspicious by numerologists and excellent days to undertake visionary projects.
I don’t know about numerology or astrology, but Greg’s very real assessment of our situation is why I support C-C:
The Trump administration and the MAGA movement are suffering a breathtaking collapse for one reason: Trump’s fatal entanglement with Jewish power. The truth has never been clearer: You can’t have an Israel-first wing in an America-first movement, or any white [sic] identitarian movement, for that matter. We’ll keep broadcasting that message loud and clear.
Great site , Greg. I loved the trial of Socrates.
Great article! Glad to be a part of an evolving organization, that may one day be an institution. 🙃
