This perspective proposes that figures like Candace Owens, the Tate brothers, and Myron Gaines attract general audiences to unconventional thought, eventually leading them toward more substantial dissident ideologies. The rationale often includes the idea that their “based blackness” shields the broader movement from accusations of racial prejudice while expanding its reach. While this thesis might appear plausible at first glance, it does not withstand close scrutiny.
The concept of a Candace Owens-to-dissident pipeline does not hold up. It is unlikely that someone watching her perform conservative grievance theater would subsequently engage with the works of Greg Johnson or Julius Evola. This mechanism fails to materialize because her content does not create the necessary conditions for such a transition. Owens operates entirely within the established framework of mainstream conservatism, presenting reactive, personally driven commentary designed for applause rather than deep thought. Her criticisms of the Democratic Party, though satisfying to her audience, leave fundamental premises untouched. The leap from enjoying Owens’s content to seriously engaging with dissident literature would require a capacity for self-questioning that her output actively suppresses. Rather than opening doors to deeper thought, her approach often fills the space with noise, which is then presented as courage.
Similarly, claims regarding the manosphere prove equally unfounded. Some sympathizers of dissident thought have positioned Andrew Tate and Myron Gaines as inadvertent anti-feminists, arguing that their direct challenges to feminist orthodoxy prepare audiences for more rigorous critiques. This interpretation misrepresents the nature of the manosphere. What Tate expresses is not a philosophical stance on sex differences or a critique of the structural failures within feminist social theory. It represents a form of misogyny, presented with a veneer of contemporary style. His language, his rhythms, and his entire attitude toward women are akin to those of a hip-hop entertainer who has ventured into podcasting: transactional, predatory, and focused on performing dominance for an audience that mistakes aggression for insight. Gaines operates in a similar fashion, albeit with less overt showmanship. His objective is not to expose feminist contradictions but to conduct public humiliations of women, disguised as straightforward commentary. The manosphere is not an anti-feminist intellectual movement; it is a platform for aggressive behavior with a large following, and nothing produced within it guides anyone toward serious engagement with works like Esther Vilar’s or evolutionary psychology.

The difference becomes clear when considering figures who genuinely engage with ideas. Ben Shapiro and Michael Knowles, while not dissident thinkers and often disliked within those circles, can construct and defend coherent arguments. They operate within mainstream conservatism with a degree of intellectual seriousness, and younger writers like Brad Polumbo demonstrate that rigorous policy engagement remains possible within that broader system. This prompts a relevant question: how many figures described as “based blacks” have produced anything comparable, such as a lasting analytical contribution, an original framework, or a piece of work that advanced a debate beyond its capacity to generate outrage? The absence of such contributions serves as its own answer.
These figures did not rise to prominence through an organic intellectual process. Instead, many were propelled into the spotlight by what might be termed “Conservatism Inc.” which realized that associating a black face with an engaging provocation could neutralize certain criticisms while maintaining high engagement metrics. The selection criterion was performance value, not analytical depth, and the resulting group reflects this emphasis. As Dani Vypont observed, the Dissident Right gains no strategic advantage from associating with these figures. Some within dissident circles might believe their presence lends a degree of palatability to the movement, acting as a buffer against the caricatures often constructed by hostile media. However, this logic collapses when faced with reality: their presence does not complicate the caricature; it often completes it.
The discourse surrounding Israel provides a stark illustration of the negative impact. Figures like the Hodge twins and Candace Owens have so dominated this discussion with exaggerated histrionics that criticizing Israeli foreign policy, in many media contexts, has become associated with unsophisticated, low-quality commentary by default. Analysts with genuine expertise and years of serious engagement often find their work tainted by proximity to a conversation that resembles a grievance competition more than political analysis. This association now functions almost automatically. A subject that requires rigorous treatment has been made radioactive by the very individuals who claimed to champion it. This is not a coincidence; it is the predictable outcome when contentious topics are taken up by figures who lack the intellectual capacity to handle them.
The broader consequence is an infantilization of serious subjects. When topics are addressed by individuals fundamentally unsuited to them, the subject matter itself degrades. Audiences tend to register topics in the manner they first encounter them, and in these instances, that register often falls somewhere between a rap dispute and daytime television. While populist energy is not inherently without value, these particular figures generate audiences for themselves rather than for movements with durable intellectual foundations. The “based blacks” have contributed a pervasive fog of performative outrage to every subject they have touched, making serious engagement more difficult rather than easier. The Dissident Right would likely be clearer and more honest about its own identity without these associations.

The only “positive” example from the black “manosphere” so far has been Tariq Nasheed. The “buck-breaking” discourse remains his crowning achievement in a long line of black nationalist self-owns and unintentional contributions to dissident entertainment.

I disagree. This article seems to say that these folks are worthless to our cause. Hearing criticism of the Jews for the first time is an important step in the right direction. Anyone made curious by it will hopefully take more steps, maybe landing at Taki’s, then Unz, the CC, which is what I did. I used to listen to preachers who claimed Jews were chosen and it was our duty to protect them. I believed that! I’d been ignoring crime statistics, STD statistics, and many other signs of a general Black savagery, vulgarity, and immorality (with some noble exceptions, but not many) as being “tainted” information, when, in fact, it was perfectly true information that I simply didn’t like.
You could have listened to a smart, honest man of your race like Mr. Sims, or kept listening unquestioningly to lying preachers and racial aliens like Lip Man and Candice What’s-Her-Name.

I had provided a pretty good answer, but like with the problem Scott describes above, about C-C software “disappearing” his comments sometimes before he gets a chance to save them, my answer went <poof!> — gone and not in my “History, either.” I have learned to save a long comment in my email Drafts as I go so I can retrieve and finish without starting over from scratch, or just forget about it like with this one.
Dave Gahary (of FTJ.com) and his wife visited our Upper East Tennessee community this weekend and we shared a couple of meals and swapped war lies. He told me he wants to produce a documentary about my life. I don’t know about that, but my journey from a naive youth in a pretty much all-White segregated community in the South to today might be worthy of a memoir for others to read some day. I’ve told my story for years in bits and pieces, here and there, but haven’t saved many of them.

Chairman Williams was a son of the Old America, specifically of the people and culture of North Carolina.

Around 1983, after a clash with the IRS (who made preposterous allegations in order to take money that was rightfully his), Mr. Williams decided that one could be free only by having enough money to have lawyers on infinite retainer — or by voluntarily living below the poverty line.
His first introduction to racial politics came when he discovered Glenn Miller’s White Patriot Party.
After a successful series of petition drives to defend our Second Amendment rights, the Populist Party contacted him and made him Executive Director of their North Carolina operations.
Later he worked with Ben Klassen, founder of the racial religion of Creativity, before eventually having that fateful meeting with Dr. William Pierce that would define the future of his life and work.

At great personal sacrifice, Will Williams gave Dr. Pierce two years of his life working at National Alliance headquarters.
Even when the promised two-year term ended, Dr. Pierce asked Mr. Williams not to “go far” — and got him to serve as the Alliance’s first-ever Regional Coordinator.
Dr. Pierce was a very patient teacher, sharing details of his own intellectual development with now-Chairman Williams.
Being in the US Army constituted, even in the 1960s, a very quick education in racial realities.

That’s what I told Weave.
As a minority of a minority of a minority of pro-Whites I don’t expect many Whites to agree with my radical Piercean perspective, but it should be “on the table” nevertheless, along with Weave’s, whatever that is.
Pierce often reminded us that we are in the “talking phase” of the revolution, a time for comparing competing ideas and may the best ones prevail. I’m happy to compare ideas and adjust mine when convinced mine are wrong — but to say I’m “too pure” or “too good” because I tell my personal journey when asked, is not addressing ideas.
I’ve missed what Weave has told as a C-C commentator about “what he has done for the movement.” I’d be interested to learn that.
It is very simple. We cower at the magic words and choose pant-hooting blacks to hide behind and perish, or we find spines and say what needs to be said ourselves.
What Mr. Matthews’ recent articles are saying is what our side has said since blacks have been I our midst. They are low IQ and low impulse control who do understand an opportunity to exploit white guilt. Whites remain blind to this or willfully ignorant to our peril.
In the end, we speak for ourselves. Mr. Matthews is wisely positioning himself for the coming age where whites will speak for themselves and will only engage with blacks who advance our cause. He also wisely is positioning himself for the polarity that is reality. Con Inc. and Israel First are trying to hold a center that no longer exists.
I appreciate his recent articles. I see him as understanding the emerging order of things. Whites are in a dog fight for our existence, and his long term wellbeing depends on our ability to save ourselves.
Do you think blacks would be more palatable to the proWhite message just by reminding them that without Whites their world is tijuana-somalia-beijing-bombay-islamabad all coming to a neighborhood near them so rather the White Devil they do know then the others they don’t? If this rallied support for mass emigration of nons I’d consider that kinda somewhat a win. I once said to one, “think Whitey is racist? Try the indians and chinese.” He didn’t argue.
I may want them to get scared straight, but I doubt that message will sink in. Can they think in such future oriented terms and consider such potential outcomes? Do their native languages have tenses like conditional future or remote past? Is it likely that Whitey hangs such a hegemonic shadow in their psyche that they can’t comprehend a truly ferociously ethno centric people with zero historic guilt, zero sense of honor and nobility coming in and being way more terrifying and ruthless than Whitey ever was?
I doubt it. So, best is for us to find some way to go our own way so we can recover to the point of mounting a methodical reclamation project.

You didn’t ask me that question, Unc, but I’ll answer it for you because I consider it an important question.
Your premise that our pro-White message would be for any other racial group but our own is faulty. Serious racial separatists/preservationists do not give a shit what Blacks, Jews or other non-Whites think of our material. Most at C-C are not serious White racial separatists/preservationists — not yet, anyway.
That is the National Alliance’s position and our material consistently reflects it.
We do not try to make our message “palatable” for Blacks. Lip Man Matthews should guide those of his race, not ours!
Dr. Pierce was telling his people what is needed in late 1969 or early 1970, before he founded National Youth Alliance, then National Alliance. Judge for yourself if he worried if this vision for our race is palatable enough for Blacks. His strategy evolved from using the failed mass democracy electoral system of the day to withdrawing from the decadent System and organizing separately into achievable, exclusive White communities and out from those.

Candace Owens might get lucky and stumble upon a zinger regarding Holohoax studies ─ some classics are the Human Soap and Human Lampshades claims, which are now quite embarrassing ─ but the reality is that she knows less than zero on the subject, and at best can only create easily-savaged strawman arguments that do more harm than good.
The notion that TP USA’s Charlie Kirk was somehow killed by Izrull while speaking at the Utah Valley University campus in Utah rather than an “AntiFa” crusader from St. George with a twink boyfriend who was “transitioning” is particularly dumb. The evidence against Tyler Robinson is damning.
That doesn’t mean that the usual Hollywood suspects like Jimmy Kimmel will not try to blame the Kirk assassination on MAGA, or the Mormons, or some other nonsense.

Re the killing of Charlie Kirk. Maybe it’s some third party, neither Israel nor Robinson. Maybe Tyler really is a patsy.
Tyler Robinson’s trial should be most interesting.
Although it has not yet been released to the public yet, the Utah County Prosecutor has the surveillance videotape of him doing the actual crime ─ plus there are hours of related campus surveillance and doorcam video of Robinson in his car and walking around the neighborhood thoroughly casing the event location that is already in the public domain. This has been thoroughly analyzed by amateur detectives like Gray Hughes Investigates on YouTube, who did excellent work on the Idaho Four student stabbings case of Bryan Kohberger.
The evidence that has been released to the public on Tyler Robinson so far is beyond superfluous, including chats and cellphone text ─ to be corroborated by the metadata in court ─ where he confesses the whole thing to his twink boyfriend, Lance Twiggs, who will undoubtedly testify for the State. Twiggs is currently in “hiding” and reportedly no longer has an FBI detail guarding him.
Basically, Tyler’s parents identified their son as the mystery man and he then gave up to the Washington County Sheriff. Tyler realized that the game was over when he failed to retrieve his Granddad’s Mauser 98 hunting rifle from an area in the bushes just off campus ─ and it had his DNA all over it. The bullet fragments taken from Mr. Kirk’s body cannot be matched to the rifle, but they are the proper type, and the authorities even have the fired bullet casing that Tyler handled.
Really, the Prosecution’s case is more solid than almost any murder case ever, and it will be a miracle if Tyler does not get the Death Penalty in spite of him coming from a good family and many people now feeling sorry for him. The pretrial preparation for the Defense has been one procedural Hail Mary Pass after another, and it’s not going well for them.
I can’t wait to watch the trial, which will be broadcast live.

Basically, I just said that the Charlie Kirk assassination is not even a year old, and the Defense has not even entered a not-guilty plea yet.
It is in the interest of the Defense to delay the proceedings for as long as possible and hope that the Death Penalty gets taken off the table. So the trial itself may not actually happen for a couple more years.

Candace Owens is deeply mentally ill. It is disturbing that so many people take her seriously. Now it seems that the more insane or depraved you are, the more of a fanatical cult will worship you on the internet. If someone were to take a random ranting schizophrenic out of a mental asylum and set them up on YouTube, they would probably have started a “movement” of mindless followers within a year.
The craziest conspiracy clickbait and AI slop translates into more views and ad revenue, so that is what is the force driving the YouTube algorithm these days. That incentivizes the faux content that actually gets promoted. Candace Owens probably is truly unwell, but she has perfected the grifting process.
