Seven Ways You Can Help Counter-Currents

Greg Johnson

7gifts1,482 words

Editor’s Note:

Counter-Currents is experiencing a bit of a cash crunch, so I have penned the following special appeal.

Ideas matter. If you want to know why the whole political spectrum moves ever Leftward, dragging white lands deeper into racial and cultural decadence, it is because of the dominance of Leftist values, which guide politics, education, journalism, and the creation of culture.

Social life is the product of innumberable decisions, which are guided by ideas about what we think is right, desirable, and possible. The creation and propagation of these ideas has an institutional matrix: universities, think tanks, charitable foundations, and academic publishers, all of them non-profit institutions lavishly subsidized by those who understand the importance of ideas in maintaining and advancing their cultural and political hegemony.

The reason why virtually every white nation is on the path to extinction is simple: most whites no longer believe that proud, flourishing, homogeneously white societies are moral, desirable, or even possible, and until a sufficient number of whites think otherwise, change cannot happen. The aim of Counter-Currents Publishing and our webzine/print journal North American New Right is to deconstruct the hegemony of anti-white ideas and construct and propagate the alternative, pro-white ideas that are necessary if whites are to regain control of our destiny. But just like our opposite numbers on the Left, we are dependent on the generosity of our readers.

What kind of people donate to Counter-Currents? We respect our donors’ desire for privacy, but based on the information they volunteer, they break down like this.

The largest single group are college students, who give us $10 or $20 a month and buy our books religiously. It takes a tremendous amount of committment to donate to a cause when one is in college, since college students generally are accumulating debts rather than assets. But that is the idealism of youth, and we are tremendously grateful.

The next largest group are professionals: doctors, lawyers, ministers (some think that we are doing God’s work even if I don’t agree), professors, psychotherapists, etc. They generally give in the $20 to $50/month range.

A slightly smaller group consists of blue and white collar workers, whose support also falls in the $20 to $50/month range.

A fourth category are business people and investors, who tend to give larger, one-off donations.

We also have donors who are the housewives and retirees.

If you are not yet a Counter-Currents donor, please consider joining them. If you are a past donor, please renew your support. Our webzine has beem growing dramatically (see our most recent Newsletter for statistics), and our well-edited, attractively designed books are finding ever-wider audiences. Your support today can help sustain and increase that real momentum.

There are seven ways you can help Counter-Currents, three of which cost you money, four of which cost you nothing but time:

Money:

1. Making a One-Time Donation

2. Signing up for a Monthy Donation

3. Buying Our Books (Yes, some of our regular readers do not buy our books, since they can get most of their contents online for free!)

Time:

4. Our Amazon Affiliate Program

5. Remembering Us in Your Will

6. Promoting Our Books and Articles

7. Donations in Kind

For more information on each option, just click the hyperlinks in the list above.

Thank you for your loyal readership and support.

4. Our Amazon Affiliate Program

Amazon.com’s Affiliate Program allows you to earmark 7% or more of the price of your Amazon purchases to Counter-Currents at no additional cost to you.

Amazon Affiliate links are embedded throughout our articles and reviews. Just about every time you see a hyperlinked book, CD, or movie title, it is an Amazon link. Just click through to Amazon and start filling your cart, and Counter-Currents will receive a percentage just for referring you.

There is also an Amazon Affiliate link on the top of the right hand navigation bar, just below the Video of the Day.

Note:  As long as you enter Amazon through one of our referral links, Counter-Currents receives a commission on anything and everything that you purchase, not just the specific items we link.

Furthermore, you can use the Counter-Currents Amazon Affiliate link without visiting Counter-Currents first. It’s easy: If you have Amazon.com bookmarked on your computer, click the following link and then replace your bookmark with the page that appears. This will allow you to go directly to Amazon.com, and Counter-Currents will receive the same commission.

http://www.amazon.com/b?_encoding=UTF8&site-redirect=&node=53&tag=thesavdevarc-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325

For some reason, Amazon.com will not allow us to construct a link to their front page. If there is a particular Amazon.com page to which you usually go first, email me and let me know, and I will happily construct a custom affiliate link for you. It is that important that we make it easy for you to participate.

For our supporters in Europe: We can construct Amazon Affiliate links for the UK, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy Amazon stores. Please email me for more details.

Once Again: The affiliate link gives Counter-Currents a commission on anything you buy on Amazon.com, on any page, so long as you enter Amazon through one of the links.

5. Remembering Us in Your Will

Please consider a bequest to Counter-Currents in your will. All it will cost you is a bit of your time. There are two sorts of bequests that are most helpful to our work: (1) money and (2) items of historical significance to our movement, such as books, papers, etc.

The wording for such a bequest can be quite simple: “I hereby bequeath ___ to Counter-Currents Publishing Ltd., PO Box 22638, San Francisco, CA 94122, USA.”

Or the wording might be something like this: “To further the work of Counter-Currents Publishing Ltd., PO Box 22638, San Francisco, CA 94122, USA, I bequeath the remainder of my estate, free of all death taxes, creditors’ claims and expenses of administration of my estate, for discretionary use in carrying out its aims and purposes.”

Depending on your bequest, your attorney might be able to advise more appropriate wording.

We do not recommend leaving historically significant books and papers to libraries and universities, for the simple reason that libraries are the world’s greatest destroyer of books, particularly politically incorrect books. The most egregious example of this is the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., which, when it received several thousand books from Adolf Hitler’s personal library, kept a book only if they didn’t already have another copy of it. The rest were dumped in bins for used booksellers to rummage through. Any that were left unsold were probably burned or pulped.

University libraries will often preserve rare books and papers, but only at the expense of making it virtually impossible for anyone to read or copy them. For instance, the University of Edinbugh holds the sole manuscript of one of Anthony M. Ludovici’s books, a memoir of his years as a farmer entitled The English Countryside, which Ludovici wished to be published after his death. He even left money in his will to pay for it. But his executors kept the money and gave the manuscript to the university, which refuses to allow anyone to copy it, so this book will never be published and will be read only by a tiny handfull of people.

Counter-Currents is committed to preserving and making historically significant books and papers available to the public, hence we maintain The Savitri Devi Archive and the Anthony M. Ludovici site.

Please contact us if you wish to discuss a bequest.

6. Promoting Our Books and Articles

  • The most important way to promote our books is to give them positive reviews at Amazon.com.
  • Also, please recommend our books on Facebook and other social networking sites.
  • The most important way to promote our articles is to recommend them through Facebook and other social networking sites and to post links on forums and discussion threads.

7. Donations in Kind

There are many ways that you can make donations in kind to Counter-Currents.

The most important donation in kind is to provide new content for the Counter-Currents/NANR webzine by:

  • Writing articles, reviews, etc.
  • Conducting print and audio interviews
  • Producing videos
  • Transcribing audio lectures and interviews
  • Translating important pieces into English
  • Translating our pieces into other languages
  • Recommending articles, reviews, and videos from around the web

Other useful donations in kind include:

  • Helping us to organize a meeting in your town: if there are enough Counter-Currents readers and other interested parties in your area, we will come there to speak, sell books, and help build local community by providing a place for people in the same area to meet, sometimes for the first time.
  • Airline miles: we will speak anywhere in the world if you cover our travel expenses.
  • Books that we might be able to add to our catalog (multiple copies) or library (single copies)
  • Graphic design work for book covers and promotional materials

Please contact us if you wish to discuss a donation in kind.

Of course you don’t agree Greg (some think that we are doing God’s work even if I don’t agree), Except that you sent out the appeal on a Sunday under the badge of the holy dove and suggested seven ways to help; seven being the number of spiritual perfection.
I wonder whose M.O. that could be? Definitely worth a donation.

I was thinking of you Sandy when I chose that image: the Holy Spirit descending bearing seven gifts (represented by the seven dots surrounding it). Stained glass is a beautiful medium.

Best of luck, and I hope you find success. Alas, I’m flat broke so I’m no use here. But if and when I ever get into a situation where my rent is taken care of for a few months and I have the basics all set, I plan on several donations – at least $25 to both Counter-Currents and David Duke are planned.

For bringing people to the site I’d recommend doing more with the podcast and audio in general. Some of the interviews and readings have been really unique and when I’ve shared them they’ve gotten pretty positive responses from people who likely wouldn’t have identified with the material originally. I don’t think the podcasts aren’t used enough, and it’s criminal to leave some of those gems languishing on a back page when the audio could be being used to connect with a wider audience over vemo or youtube.

That’s the same way I feel about the ADV show that William Luther Pierce had, there’s over 300 wonderful shows on some archive site that could be reaching audiences all over the place, and even natvan isn’t really making any use of those shows when you’d think that they would be.

    http://archive.org/details/DrWilliamPierceAudioArchive308RadioBroadcasts

Everyone has easy cellphone access to youtube and people go on there to listen to music and videos during the day all the time. They could be going on there to listen to CC podcasts too.

I agree with Jack about the Podcasts…not enough of them and not displayed often enough on the web page though this is a minor issue. I download the Podcasts onto my mp3 player and listen as I am working in the yard, at the gym, jogging, etc. There are just too few hours in a day to merely sit and listen, which is why I rarely ever watch commercial TV. I bought over a $100 in books from CC last month. I just spent about $400 on Amazon and made certain that I went through CC’s portal. I will also send you a check. We (and everyone knows who I mean) cannot afford to lose this site!

It doesn’t amaze me in the slightest that people who pay for and read gossip rags, worthless Main Stream politically correct publications, or spend their time watching the ABC channels on TV, wouldn’t donate to Counter Currents. But it does amaze me that millions of people with a thrist for serious literature and news, that is 100 percent relevant to their lives wouldn’t donate. That is surprising.

Bobby, it is incredibly hard to shake people down… You have to ask five or more times and even when they’ve agreed you still have to chase them for it. And I’m talking about people that really do know better. Recalcitrance must be part of the right-wing psychology.

Further to my comment above re the Podcasts. I wish there was a way that CC could somehow transfer essays into mp3 audio for listening…actually for repeated listening by CC fans. Perhaps volunteers with fine speaking voices could read the essays selected by Greg into whatever medium it is that CC uses for Podcasts purposes. I suppose then another volunteer would have to listen to the “reading” to make certain it was “true” to the written essay. When that was done, then it could be uploaded to the CC site and announced to the readers of its’ availability.

I just believe the message of CC would be reinforced by reading and listening to the same essay. The narrative would thus be “incorporated” into our minds…second nature so to say. I would be happy to donate my time for such an endeavor.

Out of all the Right Wing sites out there this and Voice of Reason are my favourite. Since VOR is down these days I spend more time on here. Mr. Johnson what you are doing and what you believe in is invaluable to the white race.

Currently I have no money to speak of but once spring comes around and work picks up I will set aside some earnings to donate to this site.

In reply to this gentleman’s suggestion, I would like to see some of the essay’s in audio format as well. I used to listen to VOR (and still do) shows on my MP3 while walking to work or on lunch break. More audio would be great.

If you are looking for voices for that I can lend you mine. I am good at reading out loud and have the time. Let me know.

This is certainly something i would happily volunteer to do, it would just take a little while to create spoken versions, lets’ do it!

I am often very short of cash, so i cannot make a recurrent donation but have sent a small donation now, hope you get all you need

May I suggest that you link a printable file on the front page containing a sheet of fliers. These should be small enough to fit inside library books, and designed to draw people to this site. This would be a cheap and easy way to prmote CC. I do think you need someone to design a good logo, preferably avoided right-wing cliches.

      Here’s how to change that.
      -Log into PayPal
      -Click on the Activities tab
      – Look at the list under More filters and choose Subscriptions and agreements
      – Another list will appear. Choose Recurring payments
      – A third list will appear.Choose My profiles
Your payment will show up here. You can then cancel the old payment, go back to CC, and set up a new one for the new amount. I didn’t a see a way to edit your existing payment in PayPal itself.

These instructions are for the new look of the site, not the old one. You can also search for Recurring payments and follow the directions there.

I changed my monthly payment from $50.00 to $100.00 a few days ago and this is how I did it. Every little bit helps!

Ignorance is free, and silence is death.

If you send “only” five dollars, you do more good than a thousand grand intentions.

I am incredibly heartened by the college students and working people who end twenty dollars a month, consistently. As no one (temporally) is coming to our rescue, we must start where we are.

I am continually amazed at the number of people who talk as if they are fully aware of the cosmic battle we are engaged in, but do not show the smallest sign of very effective support.

Five dollars, and ten would be better, given consistently.

After all, if we fail, the Race dies.

Is THAT serious enough for you? Is THAT worth the investment?

    If it isn’t, what is?

For those of you who are hoping for Divine Intervention, what are you, if not an instrument of the Divine? After all, in all of the world’s great scriptures, the Gods command us to meet our duty, and to do our part.

And, let me assure you, they have Plans for us if we do not.

Speaking of The New Right and the general leftward direction of both Democrat and Republican parties, and why aren’t the conservatives fighting back against liberals in such way for the general public to notice, perhaps Frank Roman from Europeans Americans United offers some clues here:
