When White People Do White People Things
An Interview with Antelope Hill Publishing

Ondrej Mann

2,486 words

Antelope Hill Publishing (A.H.P.) is a young American publishing house focused on the white population, consisting mainly of people in their twenties. Their goal is to publish primarily historical works that help explain how we got to where we are today, but also modern works that can provide some guidance on where we are all headed. They are considered an authority in their field and are proud to help preserve our history and heritage, free from censorship and malicious deconstruction. They seek to lay the foundations for the restoration of our collective memory, the rediscovery of our identity, and ultimately the achievement of our political sovereignty.

A.H.P. has published many books in the past, but let’s mention at least the most important ones: When Israel Is King, Generation ’68: The Elite Revolution and Its Legacy,Solzhenitsyn & the Right, The Eggs Benedict Option, Escape From Detroit: The Collapse of America’s Black Metropolis, Serviam: The Political Ideology of Adrien Arcand, The American Regime and now alsoThe Culture of Critique.

In our interview, we talked about small publishing houses, the founding of A.H.P., their interests, authentic historical sources, their writers, controversy, bibliophilia, and many other things.

Ondrej Mann: How do you start a small publishing house? Did you have any experience with publishing books before A.H.P.?

Antelope Hill Publishing: It was actually fairly easy, and none of us had any experience. We began with two people who wanted to read Leon Degrelle’s The Burning Souls, which was not available in English. We did an initial copyright investigation and found that we were in the clear to publish it, and talked with a third friend – our translator Rollo of Guant – about doing a translation of it. At the time we were all in college and not working, so the idea occurred to sell the book to the general public in order to justify the time and expense for a print run. We put together a business plan, pitched it to some likeminded people for the initial cash, and once we got $4,000 we began the company.

This was right before COVID hit, so just as we were beginning this project we all of a sudden had a bunch of free time on our hands, and so we opted to do some reprints of public domain work prior to the publication of The Burning Souls in order to develop some experience and best practices. We pulled in more team members – a cover designer, a formatter, editors, etc. – from our extended social network during this early period of the first few months of COVID. Most that that early team is still around in one way or another.

OM: You publish a rather specific range of literature. What is your experience with censorship? And what is your opinion on censorship? Do literature and art have limits that should not be crossed?

AHP: We’ve lost our Amazon account and have to work out creative ways to get our books sold on that platform. Despite that, individual books still do often get deplatformed from Amazon and other third party retailers. We have also had payment processors pulled in the past. We see it as part of our job to find ways to overcome censorship for the sake of our readers, our authors, and more broadly, our mission of preserving history and promoting pro-White values as part of a larger cultural and political struggle.

We are resolutely against censorship in principle. In terms of our business practices, we do have standards that lean against content that includes obscenity or anti-social ideas. However, we recognize there are important contemporary issues on which even the Right is legitimately divided, and in such cases we assess submissions on their own merits.

OM: Have you had any unpleasant experiences with doxxing? Could you describe this experience?

AHP: We have an absolute policy of non-response to all doxxing allegations or attempts. Everyone involved in Antelope Hill does it part time, dedicating some number of hours each week after their existing responsibilities with regular jobs, families, etc., so there is no situation in which discussion about doxxing would be beneficial to any of them..

OM: Do you have any other interests besides publishing politically incorrect literature with very good book design?

AHP: Certainly! We have a core team of 8 people, many of us living in the same geographic area, so we do a lot of activities together. Our wives arrange baby playdates together and we go out to local festivals, take part in activities like boxing and hiking, and many members participate in political activism. We even have a guy who is really into Warhammer 40k. We advise your readers to get involved in local groups, and maybe they can meet us at national events and get to know us better in person.

OM: Do you have any religious views?

AHP: The organization is secular. Our core team is mixed between Christians of different denominations and people on the atheist-agonistic spectrum, along with a pagan. None of us are on the team of this specific institution due to a primarily religious mission (although for several of us, why we are involved in our politics generally is primarily religious), so it’s not something that we take an institutional stance on.

OM: Have you met any of the authors published by A.H.P. in person?

AHP: Several! They are all wonderful people. We typically arrange to meet at conferences which are always a whirlwind of activity. Most members of the AHP team are involved in various civil advocacy organizations in their capacities as individuals, so that means we have a representative or two of the company in most large dissident Right gatherings that take place in the US.

OM: What kind of feedback have you received on Kerry Bolton’s book, Generation ’68: The Elite Revolution and Its Legacy?

AHP: Very good. Kerry Bolton has a well-deserved reputation that already precedes his works, and the books he’s published with us so far have not disappointed. Generation ’68 is very comprehensive, well-researched, and engagingly written, and we know that a lot of people have found it an indispensable resource.

OM: Could you introduce our readers to your new book, the third edition of The Culture of Critique by Dr. Kevin MacDonald?

AHP: Dr. Kevin MacDonald’s third edition is a significantly expanded work, which features a new and extensive preface, a new chapter on neoconservatism, and comprehensive updates to every other chapter as well. The preface stands on its own by addressing criticisms of his work which have arisen since the original publication and presenting new information on Jewish control of the modern United States. In whole, the third edition is about 200 pages longer, and remains indisputably the foundational and to this day unrefuted analysis of Jewish strategies of political and social influence and Jew-Gentile relations in the West. We can’t recommend it enough.

OM: What is your best-selling book?

AHP: In His Own Words: The Essential Speeches of Adolf Hitler. People really want to read what he’s actually saying in those speeches without subtitles that they saw on History channel!

OM: Great! A book entitled Adolf Hitler: Speeches was also published in my country and it was also an absolute bestseller from a small publishing house. Do you plan to continue the Adolf Hitler series? There are many of his speeches, and so far they remain an unedited and untranslated authentic primary source of history.

AHP: We’ve published two collections of Hitler’s speeches so far: Voice of Triumph: Hitler’s Speeches at Nuremberg, and In His Own Words: The Essential Speeches of Adolf Hitler. The latter is one of our consistent best-sellers, and also really works to exemplify our publishing ethos, in that we want to present history in the most honest way possible—by presenting the original words of those who lived it for people to be able to read and judge for themselves, rather than having records filtered and opinions dictated to them. Any historical examination which is not comfortable with or sees no place for hearing out past figures on their own terms cannot be legitimate.

OM: Let’s stay with Adolf Hitler for a moment. What books would you recommend reading on the subject of the authentic Adolf Hitler? I would definitely recommend August Kubizek’s The Young Hitler I Knew and Carolyn Yeager’s The Artist Within the Warlord.

AHP: We’d really say go straight to the man himself and read Mein Kampf . It’s got a lot more to offer besides the curiosity of having been written by the modern world’s most hated man. Besides that, David Irving has done very good work in books like Hitler’s War.

OM: What do you consider to be your publishing house’s best book? If a reader were to read only one of your books, which one would it be?

AHP: Definitely The Burning Souls by Leon Degrelle. This is the book that began our publishing house, and it is still the most impactful and soulful book we have published. Several members of our team read it at least once annually. Despite its short length, it communicates the underlying conviction of the martyr of a timeless struggle who never lost faith or hope in our people or our final victory. There’s no way to describe the feeling of the book adequately. You have to read it for yourself.

OM: I read The Burning Souls in my native language; it was also published by a small publishing house. It is a truly beautiful book. Is it possible that your publishing house will also release the excellent book Leon Degreele, The Eastern Front or Otto Skorzeny’s My Commando Operations? I personally consider these two books to be the two best memoirs about World War II. Feel free to discuss these books.

AHP: Both books are currently in print, the first by the aligned publishing house Institute for Historical Review. Generally, when determining whether to take on a book, besides copyright issues, we also consider whether an aligned publishing house already offers the book. If it does, we prefer to just direct interested people to them rather than competing with the same product. The Eastern Front was read by our two co-founders and was directly responsible for their interest in The Burning Souls, and thus is in some ways responsible for launching the company.

OM: Please describe your Collectors’ Editions. Why did you choose books by Joseph Goebbels for this edition?

AHP: We publish a single collector’s edition every year. So far we’ve done:

  • The Burning Souls by Leon Degrelle
  • A New Nobility of Blood and Soil by Richard W. Darre
  • In His Own Words: The Essential Speeches of Adolf Hitler
  • Michael by Joseph Goebbels
  • Battle for Berlin by Joseph Goebbels

We select the Collectors’ Editions base on the best-selling book the previous year that hasn’t already received a Collector’s Edition. We began doing it back in 2021 because we felt The Burning Souls deserved a very high-quality edition that people would treasure, and we decided to just continue this as an annual tradition.

OM: Have you collaborated with any other publishers? What does such collaboration look like?

AHP: Certainly! We’ve worked with Irving Books most recently to release Nuremberg: The Last Battle, and we promote Clemens & Blair, Arktos, Imperium Press, Counter-Currents, Vauban Books, Sacra Press, and others when possible. In our view, publishing is not a zero sum game. There is not any situation where someone buying a book from them will make that person less likely to buy from us, or vice versa. At the end of the day, people are going to end up buying the books they want to read, and insofar as we are all broadly aligned, the more people reading our content collectively, the better for all of us, because they are likely to keep coming back and share the books with others. We also have back-channel communications with most aligned publishers. Nothing crazy, but we sometimes run books that we are looking to take on by them to make sure there is no conflict (i.e. prior to commissioning a translation on a book, we want to make sure no other aligned publisher has already done so). Most collaboration is just agreement to cross-promote where appropriate and sharing of knowledge.

OM: I noticed your White Wednesday event. What is it about?

AHP: Once annually, we do a big year-end sale on the first Wednesday of December. We time several new product releases to take place that weekend as well. But what really makes this day special is that we coordinate behind the scenes with aligned companies so that they all release new products or at least run discounts on their stores at the same time as well. It’s our attempt to create a commercial holiday for the Right and differentiate ourselves from most publishing houses that run a sale on Black Friday. Keep an eye out on December 3rd!

OM: Antelope Hill also has a podcast. What do you discuss on it? Do you have any other content besides books people should know about?

AHP: Our Book Club podcast is hosted on our Substack. We have two episodes each month. About half the time they’re discussing our books, and the other half other books, and sometimes movies and other topics. We also regularly have guests, some of whom include Josh Neal, Thomas777, Peter Nimitz, Warren Balogh, Mike from Imperium Press, and other authors as well as AHP team members and friends of the show. Also on our Substack we publish other content such as new original short stories by our author and podcast cohost Shawn Bell (who’s also been published on Counter-Currents), and article versions of some of our twitter threads. In the future we may also have written interviews with authors.

In addition to the Substack content, we are also currently collaborating with a board game designer. His first game, “Portland Occupied Zone,” is already listed on our website, and his second, “Civil War 2,” is currently in crowdfunding, and we encourage people to check it out, particularly if you like strategy games that are intricate but exciting and packed with humor and political references.

OM: You collaborate with some writers from C-C. What should a writer, translator, editor, or graphic designer do if they want to collaborate with your publishing house? How can they join to your team?

AHP: Just reach out! Our email is [email protected]. We are currently on a pause with taking new submissions as we work through the backlog, but we are always happy to make acquaintance with translators and editors so that we can add them to our rolodex. We do have a dedicated in house graphic designer and currently don’t need an additional one. Our core team is very tight knit and geographically close together, but we are happy working with anyone on a contract basis. We’re also happy to send out review copies to anyone interested in writing reviews for Counter-Currents, or anywhere else.

Wow!  Thanks for this interesting interview!  God knows I don’t need more books, but I really want to help these guys out!  I will definitely get the new edition of culture of critique, burning souls since you guys recommend it so highly, and maybe Michael which I find intriguing, although Scott said it wasn’t so good.  I won’t read anything by the HitlerBeast.  What else would you guys recommend?

Im very stoked about the podcast too.  I’ve been looking for a good altright book club. Thank you very much for this info!

At the beginning of this article, I mentioned some well-known books published by AHP. Try clicking on the link and reading reviews of these books on CC. There are lots of reviews of AHP books on CC. I recommend When Israel Is King and The Culture of Critique and their limited editions. AHP publishes very well-printed, high-quality books. It is clear that they enjoy their work and give it their all.

Testament of a Russian Fascist names names, bears witness to the horror of what happened, and though I’m no christian Arcand’s Serviam was great. AH is always reliable and top quality.

Just finished the new edition of CoC from AHP and I must commend them on the high quality of the book itself. Sturdy binding, heavy paper, no printing errors. All in all I was very impressed.

Can you just send checks, money orders, or cash to AHP directly? I did this hundreds of times in the early 90s to order zines, books, recorded media, etc. from numerous businesses and I remember problems only twice. I never had currency that I sent stolen in the mail either. Envelopes are cheap, stamps and checks still relatively affordable (haven’t used money orders in a long time; they are cheap but I assume nowadays you have to wait at least 20 minutes in line with undesirables to get them), and it takes no time or effort to write the address on the envelope and put it in a mailbox. Yes, there is a concern that the post office has eroded in quality since then, but I stay in the game and order by mail 3 or 4 times a year now, and, knock on padded envelope, no problems still.

Battle for Berlin by Joseph Goebbels

Here I remembered that Russian Internet-site Velesova Sloboda was closed by an AMERICAN provider for the publishing of the Russian (hobby-) translation of this Goebbels book. (By the way, German original you can still find in Internet, but Russian translation not more). The comical thing here is that the American provider has banned this site after the request from RUSSIAN Roskomnadzor, the censorship office of the RF. Roskomnadzor argued, that this book is “a Nazi propaganda” forbidden in Russia, And the American provider sheepily closed the site. Does somebody still believe in “sanctions”?

Well, so Americans and Czechs can read Hitler’s books. Here I remember again, that in Russia the publications of Russian translations of Mein Kampf are prohibited. Not only the books are not printed, but even the sites with e-books are banned. The Russian translations were at latest published in the end of 1990’s, yet under “pro-Zionist” regime of Boris Yeltsin.

In Czech, the question is whether the book has a defamatory, preferably Jewish, foreword. In our country, David Duke: My Awakening, Turner’s Diaries, Adolf Hitler: Speeches, Mein Kampf, etc. were officially distributed. If you publish such works without a defamatory foreword, they will not be accepted for official distribution and you can only sell them on your website. In the Czech Republic, publisher Pavel Kamas has been prosecuted continuously for 14 years for authentic books from the Third Reich. Pavel Kamas has won all the court cases, and even though he has big problems, he continues to publish such books. It’s not easy, but unlike in Germany, for example, these books can be published in our country.

It is still better than nothing. You can always read the book itself, without the “defamatory foreword”, and anyway it is clear that even with all existing restrictions some freedom of publication still exists for Americans, Czechs and Croats, which we cannot find neither in Germany, nor in Russia.

I believe that of the 260 or so books and CDs that our CosmotheistChurch.org site carries there may be a couple of AHP titles from a while back. I’d have to check. The last time I tried to purchase some copies of one of their titles that looked like a good fit for our store, we were not offered a reasonable bookseller discount, so passed on it.

We’ve been considering republishing Maurice Samuel’s classic You Gentiles, but see on AHP’s site that they’ve already done so, and with a forward by Kevin MacDonald, so we’ll pass on that project.

“We Jews, we, the destroyers, will remain the destroyers forever. Nothing that you will do will meet our needs and demands. We will forever destroy because we need a world of our own, a God-world, which it is not in your nature to build.” -Maurice Samuel
