An article appeared recently on both Iron Ink and Tribal Theocrat defending the “dissident Christian right” against the charge that Christian nationalism is little more than a “woke right” heresy. The case for the defense, as set out by the pseudonymous author (“jetbrane” or “Enos Powell,” take your pick), rests upon a description of the ontology, epistemology, anthropology, teleology, and axiology of the “dissident Christian right.” This wide-ranging survey leads the author (whose real name is Bret McAtee, pastor of a small church in Michigan) to the conclusion that every facet of the Christian nationalist “worldview” is set in radical and permanent opposition to the “hard woke worldview.” The latter position, McAtee declares, “is always about the glory of man as determined by some Christless, God hating elite.”
In sharp contrast, for Pastor McAtee it is axiomatic that the Weltanschauung of the dissident Christian right “advocates the Crown Rights of the Rightful Rule” of the Lord Jesus Christ “over every area of life.” The accusation that Christian nationalism is just another manifestation of the “woke right” fails “because the dissident right’s worldview includes an extra-mundane personal and authoritative God who “created all things in six days and all are very good.” According to the pastor, it follows that the dissident right must bow “to God’s determination of reality.” Our “ultimate value,” therefore, “is the glory of God and His Christ,” as revealed in scripture. Biblical Christianity, the author tells us, believes in a universal “history directed towards the postmillennial end of God’s Kingdom being built up on planet earth” in fulfillment of God’s plan “to have the Kingdoms of this earth become the kingdoms of our Lord and His Christ.”
Now, whatever one makes of McAtee’s defense of the dissident Christian right, there is no denying that he reflects the dominant mindset among Anglo-American Christian nationalists. Certainly, when I recently attended the Right Response Ministries conference in Texas (devoted to “Defeating Trash World”) I felt as if I had entered a theological bubble, hermetically sealed within the historical creeds and a biblical hermeneutic impervious to scholarly criticism.
In fact, in the months leading up to the conference, I found it impossible to receive permission (or even acknowledgement of my repeated requests) from the pastor organizing the event to set up a table displaying my new book. I even had Amazon send him a copy of the book, entitled Christian Nationalism vs Global Jesus: Projects of Peoplehood from Biblical Israel. Admittedly, such a title suggests strong dissent from the outworn axioms of creedal Christianity.
I had hoped, however, that a display table would spark some interest and provide an opportunity to defend the book in conversation with speakers and attendees at the conference. I strongly suspect that the reason my request was refused, even after I arrived at the conference with a box-load of books, was that the conference organizers had already dismissed it as damnable heresy. Judging by his Iron Ink article, McAtee, too, would deny that my book represents a legitimate expression of Christian nationalism. He might even spurn it as a manifestation of a Satanic “woke” worldview.
Perhaps, if Christian identity turns solely upon fidelity to the creeds, I should be denied entry into the fold. On the other hand, as the author of a book entitled Dissident Dispatches: An Alt-Right Guide to Christian Theology, am I not entitled to a presumptive claim to be a member of the dissident Christian right? In any case, Ehud Would, of Faith & Heritage fame, appears to have recognized me as such in his thoughtful and generally favourable review of Dissident Dispatches back in 2017. Surely, doctrinally rigid, creedal Christians are no more authentically Christian than cultural Christians who dissent from received orthodoxy.
Just as there is more than one way to skin a cat, there has always been more than one way to conceive and constitute a Christian nation. The nation that was created by the Loyalists who fled to Canada was no less “Christian” than the revolutionary republic created by the American rebels who forcibly drove those loyal to the British Crown from their own homes and native land.
I was born a British subject before the creation of Australian or Canadian citizenship, at a time when Anglo-Saxons still counted as one of Canada’s two “founding races.” As a consequence, my intellectual development has been greatly influenced by the strange demise of both British Canada and British Australia.
Accordingly, my latest book was written from an Anglo-Identitarian perspective. I try to demonstrate that a pan-British race patriotism can be rekindled by a reformed, neo-Angelcynn (Old English for “kin of the Angles”) church. Such a reformation would provide a desperately needed theopolitical alternative to the hegemonic, universalist model of creedal Christianity. Nowadays, as we have just seen, even American Christian nationalism routinely invokes the deracinated, disembodied Lordship of global Jesus as its heavenly warrant.
Following the crushing defeat of German ethnonationalism in 1945, the global Jesus of contemporary Anglo-Protestant theology achieved virtually uncontested hegemony. Today, almost all mainstream Anglo-Protestants reject even the mildest manifestations of ethnic particularism as tantamount to racism. Indeed, the advocacy of “Christian nationalism” is denounced regularly from the pulpits of mainline Anglo-Protestant churches in the United States.
Clearly, avowed Christian nationalists in the USA are now held hostage by global Jesus. Christian nationalism piously declares itself bound to affirm that the telos of human history will be realized only when the primary allegiance of all nations is to King Jesus.
Still, it remains to be seen how a distinctively white Anglo-Saxon Protestant ethnoreligious identity can be squared with the ahistorical, universalist reign of Lord Jesus. Even Stephen Wolfe, the most prominent American Christian nationalist, downplays, when not outright denying, the intractably biocultural dimension of Anglo-Saxon identity. He has suggested, for example, that even black men such as Booker T. Washington and Justice Clarence Thomas (who happens to be a devout Catholic) have been assimilated into the Anglo-Protestant ethnonation.
By contrast, my thesis is that an exclusive ecclesiastical allegiance to a generic cosmic Christ reduces the distinctive character of every earthly ethnoreligious identity to mere adiaphora (i.e., things inessential in the eyes of the church). The rebirth of Anglo-Protestantism requires a solid ethnoreligious foundation, as did the first century Jesus movement.
The refusal of hidebound American evangelicals to recognize the ethnonational identity of the historical Jesus is the outdated legacy of historically Romanised ecclesiastical establishments, Protestant and Catholic alike. My argument, therefore, is that Anglo-Saxon Christianity should be re-Germanized by re-imagining the Angelcynn church of Alfred the Great to fit the needs of our own age.
Christian Nationalism vs Global Jesus presents persuasive evidence that the Hebrew Bible (most likely created between the fifth and second centuries BC) produced a poignant and powerful national narrative. Conceived by Judean scribes as a pedagogic tool, that biblical narrative inspired the “project of peoplehood” presupposed by the Jesus movement of the first century AD.
Anglo-Protestants desperately need to recover earlier folkish variants of the Christian tradition. I suggest that the focus of Anglo-Protestantism needs to be shifted away from its long-standing preoccupation with personal salvation in the world to come. Anglos need a sense of rootedness in networks of ethnoreligious communities in which shared ancestry matters as much if not more than doctrinal purity.
An Anglo ethno-religion is both the institutional precondition and moral foundation for the creation of socially cohesive communities. Anglo-Protestant churches must become the ethnoreligious heart of breakaway parallel societies devoted to producing healthy, happy, and morally upright families together with British-descended counter-elites set in opposition to the irresponsible corporate plutocracy now misgoverning the Anglosphere.
It may be that Anglo-Protestants will someday receive as King a Christ of their own. But, as preterist scholar Don K. Preston often remarks, he is unlikely to return as a 5’5” Jewish man whose name is Jesus. That fact need not preclude the miraculous appearance of our own Patriot King, were he to become incarnate in Australia and the other British dominions.
In short, my book offers a sympathetic but penetrating critique of the hitherto unchallenged hegemony of global Jesus within the Anglo-American epicentre of the emergent Christian nationalist movement. I seek to persuade American Christian nationalists that their predominantly Anglo-Protestant movement, like the first-century Jesus movement, can and should embrace, explicitly, its historic, ethnoreligious character outside and apart from both the state and creedal Christianity.
Faithful Anglo-Protestants could spark the reformation of the entire Anglosphere by labouring to bring the sweet dream of a Patriot King down to earth. Somewhat paradoxically, therefore, Anglo-American evangelical Protestants are a primary target for this book’s message. The spiritual reformation of the Anglosphere is a matter of geopolitical theology. Anglo-American Protestants need to understand themselves as an autonomous people betrayed by the corporate state apparatus of the global American empire. In other words, they must mentally nullify the 1776 American Declaration of Independence, embracing instead an ancestral British race patriotism, in solidarity with their co-ethnics in the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand still owing allegiance to the Crown.
Such a Christian nationalism, a movement grounded in orthopraxis rather than strait-laced orthodoxy, may attract secular, culturally Christian traditionalists. While maintaining their resistance to unconditional belief in the established Christian creeds and confessions, such people are more likely to be receptive to a “modernized” folk religion in which the church serves, first and foremost, as a teacher of morality. In effect, therefore, the book advocates a return to the nineteenth century Broad Church movement in the Church of England pioneered by men such as Sir John Robert Seeley.
Younger Anglo-Protestants in particular, along with their agnostic contemporaries, are having their future stolen from them by a plutocratic corporatist regime destroying every institution that could provide access to stable, prosperous, middle-class family lives of purpose and meaning.
In the medium- to long-term, their rising discontent could find a significant institutional outlet in an Anglo-Identitarian Christian movement. Explicitly Anglo-Protestant churches, schools, colleges, even hospitals, could cultivate the British-descended elites necessary to challenge, not just “Big Eva,” the power centre of American evangelical Protestantism, but their ethnoreligious rivals, now holding sway within the transnational corporate state apparatus. My book aims to provide such an oppositional movement with intellectual ammunition as well as insight into the weaknesses of a parochial, American-style Christian nationalism placing the mythology of global Jesus over loyalty to co-ethnics, both at home and throughout the Anglosphere.

In my view, the historical figure who best serves as inspiration for our plight is Alfred the Great and his Alderman. In my view, our people must be intentional in raising their young men and women to being an Anglo-Saxon Alderman in the time of Alfred. To raise them to be Alfred would be to cultivate vanity. When the hour comes, the Alderman will rally and Alfred will arise naturally. In part he will prove worthy of selection for how stately he is in organizing local and state protection for our people. They are going to need it as scenes such as this are going to increase in frequency: https://twitter.com/i/status/1920670020532670913
“Such a Christian nationalism, a movement grounded in orthopraxis rather than strait-laced orthodoxy, may attract secular, culturally Christian traditionalists.” I am a sample size of one that can confirm your thesis. I have no problem submitting to living in a Christian nation provided that Christianity puts the earthly salvation of Our people on the same level of importance, indeed that considers that to be its highest duty as a part of the eternal salvation of the soul. Universalism is just a continuation of accelerating suicide.
I think Michael Spangler is an American Evangelist who you might want to be aware of if you are not already.
Arminius,
Thanks for the tip regarding Michael Spangler. Hadn’t heard of him before so I read the article about his divestiture on evangelicaldarkweb.com
The article compares Spangler to Pastor Joel Webbon at Right Response Ministries inTexas. He presided over the “Defeating Trash World” conference which I attended in early April, and, like Spangler, remains committed to the historical creeds and global Jesus as the saviour of mankind in general. I’d love to sit down and discuss this stuff with either or both of them. I doubt that will ever happen.
He is also being forthright about biological reality. I don’t know why you would never sit down with him, but I hope it isn’t needless and counter productive rivalry based on the deadly sins. That got us to this point and it will not lead us out.

“Immediately, however, the rumour of his bravery spread and penetrated into foreign countries. The people rejoiced at such valour, and thought that perhaps the Lord God himself had sent them this knight in a time of famine and terror…
“He has sent us a protector, whom He has endowed with great power to comfort us and to destroy our enemies forever.”
“But he refused the praise and preached to thank God for this victory. And then, when there was peace throughout the land, joyful work began to flourish everywhere. Behold the industrious husbandman digging up the barren grafts and grafting the vines to yield fruit. Here again the faithful peasant ploughs the land, and with his thin throat shouts and sings the familiar song! And those who had been hiding from the enemy’s scourge under the earth left their hiding places and set up new dwellings.”
What we need is our own racial religion, not a rehashed Christianity. 🐍
Peter Quint: May 16, 2025 What we need is our own racial religion, not a rehashed Christianity.
It’s funny you should say that, Peter. Luckily, here at C-C I occasionally am allowed to introduce readers to Cosmotheism, the non-Semitic belief system for our people that Dr. William Pierce formulated for us 50 years ago. You can learn more about Cosmotheism by putting that word in the search block at nationalvanguard.com.
In NA’s weekly radio show today, our National Alliance Media Director, Kevin Strom, quoted me from the February issue of our monthly BULLETIN. I was quoting ethnic Russian NA member from four years ago when he discovered our Cosmotheism on NV:
WW: I discovered this heartening comment on our whitebiocentrism.com forum, written by Wolf Stoner more than four years ago. To me it is also historic, as Wolf has been such an Alliance asset since he joined as a member shortly after writing this. He tells everyone that the National Alliance is the template for all racial nationalist organizations worldwide.

Wolf:
I don’t remember how precisely I encountered the National Vanguard Website; it may have been via a link from some other site. It was more than a year ago. I saw at once that it provides much more than all other sources.
The first trait that at once stands out is the much deeper scope and much wider intellectual spectrum of materials presented here. In stark contrast to almost all other sources, it is concerned mostly with eternal and long-term questions instead of current affairs. The more I read materials on this site, the more I was amazed by how identical it was to my own vision. Rejection of Christianity; the need for a new religion, which should be based on knowledge instead of murky revelations; creating the foundation for the coming of a new type of man. It was all starkly different from everything I had seen previously.
Articles by Revilo Oliver have a special place; he dealt with the root causes of all European troubles. I enjoyed reading them — and, certainly, the fiery broadcasts of Dr. William Pierce. I have downloaded the whole archive of his radio programs. I listen to them on my smartphone whenever I have free time. Everything he spoke about resonates deeply with me. He was right when almost all others were wrong. He is a true prophet of the White Race. William Pierce is known among Russian nationalists. I first learned about him back in 2003 from one of my political associates, but didn’t pay much attention to it at the time. As I said, in earlier times I was mostly unconcerned with all foreign connections…
National Vanguard is the main think tank of the White Race. Its purpose is to appeal to the few rather than to the many. Elaboration of the long-term agenda and how to achieve it is too important for any other approach. People dealing with current affairs should still do their work, but their task is of lesser importance. There are enough people dealing with the present day; but there are very few who deal with the distant future and eternal questions. That is why I like National Vanguard more than any other source I have found.
The wages of sin are death. If you want a race to live you have a powerful motivation to fight sin. If you have no desire for that race to live that motivation is gone.
Priests who have no love for our race have nothing of value to say to us. Their words are of no more value than a trombone going “womp womp.”
Clergymen and other Christian preachers should be asked straight away if they love our race, and if they are reluctant to say that they do we should ignore them.
I agree with Andrew Fraser that the Anglo community is a big and valuable ethnic group in the White family; I mean that I am agreeing with Andrew Fraser that the Anglo ethnic group is as they say “a thing” and that Anglo ethnicity should matter.
So again the same question is appropriate. Do those who want to preach to this ethnic group or its members love it and want it to continue?
WWCharlesCoughlinD?
The ones who are lost are not worth even questioning. Moreover, you only need to see their new stoles and listen to their words to know before you even ask. I have a Lutheran family member. A senior member of the family. This person went from staunch and devout to totally broken and imbued with spiritual sickness. In one conversation I said something about, “our people”, in the context of preparing for the well being of the young kids in our family and the world they will inhabit. This family member said, “I don’t like that you said, ‘our people.” Her church and the coven of witches that inhabit it and speak from its pulpit are lost. They bend over backward for every other people but recoil at the blaspheme and evil of us referring to Our people.
We just aren’t going to save everybody, least of all the ones who can’t see that the ones who preach and tend the church of their Savior are possessed by demonic forces.
According to the pastor [McAtlee], it follows that the dissident right must bow “to God’s determination of reality.”
It shouldn’t take 1,700 words to convince Pastor McAtlee and his Bible-thumping ilk that all Christians, no matter their stripe, worship the Jews’ tribal diety — a known built-in self-destruct mechanism — and furthermore, most certainly, Christianity is not grounded in reality. It is ancient middle-eastern Semitic spookcraft for the gullible and superstitious.
Mr. Frasier says:
[A]s the author of a book entitled Dissident Dispatches: An Alt-Right Guide to Christian Theology, am I not entitled to a presumptive claim to be a member of the dissident Christian right?
Sure you are. You are free to believe what you will. Makes me wonder, though, just how many in the failed “Alt-Right” movement also considered themselves in the so-called “dissident Christian right”? That could be a big factor in why the “Alt-Right” movement eventually fell flat on its face. A considerable number of them foolishly worshipped their enemy’s god.
The problem with the dissident Christian right is not that they worship “their enemy’s god” but that they believe “global Jesus” is everyone’s God. This is not what the historical Jesus taught. Neither Jesus nor Paul aimed to create a new religion. They were seeking to save the “lost sheep of Israel.” Like everyone else in Greco-Roman antiquity, they took it for granted that ethnicity and religion were more or less synonymous categories.
Paul, in particular, became the “apostle to the pagans” because he believed that the descendants of the ten lost tribes who had been absorbed into the pagan world could have their “spiritual DNA” as Israelites reactivated “in Christ.” A whole body of contemporary biblical scholarship treats Jesus and Paul as historical figures working either “within Judaism” or “within Israeliteism.”
In other words, they were still pursuing the “project of peoplehood” represented by the Hebrew Bible. Christian Nationalism vs Global Jesus shows that the Angelcynn church established by Alfred the Great invoked the Hebrew Bible as a mythic model for the project of Old English peoplehood. In doing so, he recognized the ethnoreligious foundation of English nationhood.
The argument made in my book is that the Anglo-Protestant diaspora should be re-imagined by American Christian nationalists as a people much like the “lost sheep of Israel.” Anglo-Americans (along with Anglo-Canadians, Anglo-Australians, and Anglo-Kiwis) are, in effect, the “lost sheep of Greater Britain.” American Christian nationalists should seek salvation together with their co-ethnics in a common movement to bring their Patriot King down to earth. That is why they will have to “mentally nullify the 1776 Declaration of Independence.”

Good, Nah. Those unfamiliar with Dr. Oliver can catch him here in this week’s American Dissident Voices broadcast, reading about that subject from his final book, newly republished: “The New Edition of Oliver’s Origins of Christianity” at nationalvanguard.org. Available here for $20: “The Origins Of Christianity by Revilo Oliver” at cosmotheistchurch.org
…To view our problem clearly, we must begin with its beginnings and indicate, as summarily as possible, its prehistoric origins, limiting ourselves to matters directly relevant to our own race, with which alone we need have a rational concern. And since Indo-European is best reserved for use as a linguistic term, and such words as Nordic and Celtic are too restrictive as designations of variations within our species, we shall use the only available word in general use that designates our race as a whole, although the Jews have forbidden us to use it. The word Aryan, furthermore, has the advantage that it is not a geographic term, and while some may think it immodest to describe ourselves as arya, ‘noble,’ that word does indicate a range of moral concepts for which our race seems to have instinctively a peculiar and characteristic respect, which differentiates it from other races as sharply as do its physical traits….

Check out the influence on the so-called New Right and the Republican establishment by this Christian nationalist: Doug Wilson: The New Right’s Favorite Pastor – POLITICO
[Evangelical Christian nationalist Pastor] Wilson has been making inroads into the Republican establishment, aided by a growing audience for his work among allies of President Donald Trump and the MAGA movement. Last year alone, Wilson appeared as a guest on Tucker Carlson’s podcast, spoke at an event organized by the MAGA operative Charlie Kirk, delivered a speech on Capitol Hill at an event hosted by the MAGA-aligned talent pipeline American Moment and was given a prominent timeslot at the National Conservatism Conference, the premier annual get-together for the nationalist-populist right in Washington. In January, Wilson received his most significant political boost to date when Pete Hegseth —who is a member of a CREC** church in Tennessee and publicly praised Wilson’s work — was confirmed as Trump’s secretary of Defense [War].
**[T]he network of churches that Wilson founded in the late 1990s — called the Communion of Reformed Evangelical Churches, or CREC — has grown to include over 150 congregations across four continents; an association of classical Christian schools that Wilson co-founded in 1993 now counts over 500 member schools across the country.
“In other words, they were still pursuing the “project of peoplehood” represented by the Hebrew Bible. Christian Nationalism vs Global Jesus shows that the Angelcynn church established by Alfred the Great invoked the Hebrew Bible as a mythic model for the project of Old English peoplehood.”
I don’t understand why we need someone else’s holy books to model peoplehood for ourselves. What does the Bible do differently from the Eddas or the Iliad in that particular respect?
Well, if that’s a serious question, you might start by reading Jacob Wright’s book on Why the Bible was Created. He describes the Hebrew Bible as the blueprint for a “project of peoplehood.” Written by Jewish scribes after the Babylonian exile, the narrative from Genesis to Kings provided the Jews with a roadmap for survival as a new form of political community.
By contrast, the Iliad was an account of a short period in a long war during which not even the gods could make up their minds as to which side they should back.
The fact is that the communal identity of the English people was grounded in a spiritual unity fostered by the Christian church. The role of the Old Testament in the ethnogenesis of the English is well described by Judith McClure in her chapter on “Bede’s Old Testament Kings” in Patrick Wormald (ed.) Ideal and Reality in Frankish and Anglo-Saxon Society (1983).
Pre-ordered (Canadian site).
The description of the book offers some glimpse as to what jewe may be trying to accomplish. It seems like they’re trying to instigate a cycle of destruction in our civilization for the purpose of our own rebirth.
Perhaps the Roman Catholic Church is then the story of the Romans intentionally destroying their own civilization in order to experience the same creative destruction.
