Re: Morgoth’s comment at 30:24
“I do think that Europeans have an in-group preference, but they can’t state it openly….they are conscious of how if you do show in-group preference, it’s a sign of low social status, whereas high social status is being open-minded and viewing people as individuals.”
He is correct about the pathetic bourgeois anxiety concerning status. While posturing as high social status, many people reveal themselves to be fearfully clinging to a frightened conformity of appearing proper and smart, even if it leads to absurd opinions. Luxury beliefs are status beliefs. If the working-class are in the habit of saying that 2+2=4, then to maintain your status you should proclaim that 2+2=5, just to show that you are above such ignorant people. That is the attitude of the average middle-class normie Westerner.
Great comment 👍
The host sounds like his boss forced him to interview his ex-wife’s new husband for an hour. No introduction of the guest–“introduce yourself.” And at the exact one hour mark, following perhaps the guest’s most interesting topic–the ghost restaurants that make food for several “restaurants”–the host’s comment: “and…. let’s stop it at an hour even. Cheers.”
