Good to see Paul Kersey on Counter-Currents. He has introduced many people to the Dissident Right sphere via race realism and White advocacy.
As for NASA, I’d recommend Robert Heinlein’s essay, “Spinoff.” It’s based on his testimony to the US Congress about the technological and human benefits of the American space program. The essay is in his collection, Expanded Universe.
I’d also recommend a review of the 1967 movie Cape Town Affair with Jacqueline Bisset. It’s some fluff about espionage in South Africa but is worth watching as a snapshot of that country when it was still first world.

Why not release Paul Kersey’s list and discussion of must have banned books as an article at this site? I would like to see that, and it would be good to have as a permanent resource. I would like to request that as my article for the year!
Also, The Leap! review got me thinking, why hasn’t there been a collected essays of Revilo Oliver? With an autobiographical introduction. That would be a valuable piece of scholarly work for someone to undertake. Call it Detcelloc Collected Essays.
A bitter sweet conversation. America was gradually destroyed and remade after 1913 by master illusionists, and yet they still needed it to be strong enough for their purposes. Once Kennedy set the agenda, success with the moon landing was the ultimate propaganda totem of American world leadership. Given the awesome power of the mass media, anyone who has looked at the evidence, as a whole, that the Apollo program achieved all of its goals as is claimed ought to admit some doubts. Fair enough if Counter-Currents doesn’t wish to get into the weeds on this issue, which is arguably perceived as White America’s crowning achievement. However the credibility of the organisation is affected by comparing those with suspicion of the capabilities of the Deep State ca 1970 to those who believe in a flat Earth. The evidence for the moon landings, as opposed to the awe-inspiring Saturn V launches, boils down to the eyewitness testimony of a few hand-picked uber-patriots. Everyone else watched it on television.
Plus some spunky Ham Radio operators that monitored the signals coming from the Moon ─ and some Australian engineers (probably all ZOG operatives) who sent to and captured signals from the Moon and then converted the slow-scan TV transmissions into something watchable on home television sets for the rest of the world.
You can see a noticeable improvement measured in decibels nine-minutes into the Moonwalk when their more inland Parkes Observatory 64 meter big dish switches on as the Moon rises, taking over from the smaller Honeysuckle Creek dish closer to the Australian coast. You can bet that the Soviets and many other countries were monitoring too.
I watched it on TV with my Uncle who had written some of the computer code and worked with my Dad at Bell Aerospace which helped develop the guidance systems on the Lunar Lander.
Yeah, it was quite impressive to late Baby Boomers like me, but Nixon had drastically cut the NASA budget just after he took office, so the Apollo program ran on inertia just as it was paying off. The last Moon Shot was in December of 1972 with Apollo 17. Skylab and Apollo-Soyuz were far less impressive, at least to me.
I visited Mission Control in Houston while in the Civil Air Patrol not long after Apollo-Soyuz. But even by 1971, aerospace engineers were already getting their pay slashed and were almost unemployable in a full recession. This is what really made a lasting impression on me. My Dad’s engineer friends were talking about quitting the rat race and opening up Texaco service stations (this was before the Arab oil crisis that hit in October of 1973 following the Yom Kippur War).
My Dad who has advanced degrees in Mathematics & Statistics and helped develop the Minuteman ICBM and analyze nuclear testing data, briefly became a CPA during the Aerospace recession in the early-70’s, but he found that all of those jobs were effectively government contracts too. He mostly worked on rocket and missile and nuclear bomb and reactor reliability, and thinks that some of his space-related projects like redesigning the Solid-Rocket Boosters on the Space Shuttle after the 1986 Challenger explosion were the most rewarding. The military-industrial-complex would have proceeded apace regardless.
I always thought that everything after Apollo 17 was pretty lame, and I am a technically-inclined guy. I think we fumbled the ball somewhere and it was obvious even to a kid in the early-70s.
In any case, I would challenge the notion that the Moon Landing was the United States of ZOG’s number 1 priority because failure was a very likely outcome. The Liberals would have had plenty of I-told-you-so’s ready. The beloved children’s author E.B. White was already writing articles against Apollo which were fed to us in grade school.
Yeah, it would not have been pleasant propaganda had two astronauts crashed or suffocated on the Moon. The Apollo 11 landing was off-course and Neil Armstrong therefore had to fly the Lander manually on fumes to where they could put down safely. Plus, the primitive guidance computer kept overloading with data because the docking radar had been left on in case they had to make a quick abort.
Twenty years after the Moon Landing, when I was a broadcasting engineer with years in the U.S. Army Signal Corps behind me, I once referred to the control room at the TV station where I worked as being fully configured for a Moon Shot ─ and the Generation X-ers with their newly-minted degrees in journalism and men’s cosmetics did not even know wtf I was talking about.
I’m willing to get into the weeds on Apollo, JFK, Nukes, and Nazi Gas-Chambers. I don’t have the patience for Flat Eartherism (others can do that).
A lot of White Nationalists have gawd-awful Libertarian priors, and unfortunately veer towards what I call Epistemological Nihilism. I think that needs to change.

Flat Earth is a Cass Sunstein inspired effort to infantilise the questioning of carefully moulded establishment narratives. I think it is worth re-iterating the aphorism attributed to Bonaparte: “Qu’est ce l’histoire, sinon une fable sur laquelle tout le monde est d’accord?”
That’s what I think. These carefully crafted arguments against the moon landing, nucs, round earth, etc. are a smoke screen from certain elements to make people who would question their own historical narratives look ridiculous. What other motive could there be? Most of us have seen personally very little. Our beliefs come from received narratives and authority.
That’s why I decided it was worthwhile to study historiography, maybe a little late in life, and even though I knew it would not make me rich unless I went to Harvard Law School or something.

I’ve tried to explain the facts of the matter. Unfortunately, all too many people want to go on believing the same bullcorn that was probably cooked up in a corner of the Kremlin by members of KGB’s Active Measures department who were butthurt about losing the space race.
I enjoyed this podcast. I would like to point out that the German-American science popularizer and science fiction author, Willy Ley, who worked with Wernher von Braun writing books and on the Disney TV programs, deserves a lot of credit for turning rockets from fearsome weapons of warfare into the vehicles of space travel that we know them today. Jet and Rocket propulsion is comparable to the wheel or to the propeller on ships and airplanes.
Willy Ley was a German expat who was a Liberal and pacifist who left Nazi Germany in the 1930s to go write science fiction in New York City. He was writing science books on these topics such as satellites, space travel, and Moon exploration as early as 1944. Willy Ley died about a month before Apollo 11 landed on the Moon.
Herr Ley had been part of the interwar fad of rocketry prompted by cinema such as the 1929 German film Frau im Mond (Woman in the Moon), directed by the monocled Fritz Lang. This is the milieu that Wernher von Braun came out of as well. Note the Frau im Mond nose art painted on the A4/V2 rockets at Peenemünde testing station.
Ley went to New York to write Science Fiction for Jews, whereas von Braun was an engineer and understood that Big Science required government patronage, and that meant the Heeres Waffenamt, the Army Weapons Office getting involved. It is very tough to invent and homebrew good rockets, even for college professors like rocket pioneer Dr. Robert H. Goddard (1882-1945), without full government backing, and that probably means the military.
Student Wernher von Braun presented himself as a rocket amateur in Lederhosen to a mentor, Hauptmann Dr. Walter Robert Dornberger, who was an artillery engineer for the HWA working at the Kummersdorf proving grounds near Berlin. They got along well together and Dr. von Braun became his chief engineer.
Before the war, the Luftwaffe and Army HWA jointly built a research laboratory and proving grounds on the Baltic coast precisely because Dornberger and von Braun were worried about where those rockets would come down. Peenemünde on Usedom Island was chosen for the secret base because von Braun had some family knowledge of the area.
When the RAF bombed Peenmünde on August 17th, 1943 hoping to kill the rocket scientists and their families in their beds, the SS took over control of the project. This and Hitler’s moving rocket research to a low priority at the outbreak of war in 1939 stuck in Dornberger’s craw.
Hitler told him that he only apologized to two men in his life, Dornberger and Field Marshal von Brauchitsch, who had faith in the Army rocket research when nobody else did.
However, the idea by 1943 when the project gained top military priority that the V2 developed by the Army could win the war without a nuclear warhead was a bit misplaced since by then the Germans could only build about 600-900 missiles per month in underground bunkers excavated by prisoner labor which had high mortalities.
This amount of rockets was not enough to win the war and about half of them were actually fired by Dornberger in empirical testing. Then Kammler actually fired the missiles against the enemy, which was fortunate for Dornberger who otherwise would have been deemed a war-criminal and probably hanged, even though German bombs were no more brutal than Allied bombs.
Also, the V2 had an analog computer guidance system and was far more accurate than the long-range artillery such as the Paris Gun that the German HWA had been developing since World War I. I recently re-read the postwar memoirs of the RAF’s Sir Arthur “Bomber” Harris, who only wanted to go back to retirement on his plantation in Rhodesia. Harris had just as much trouble getting accurate tonnage on target during the war and thought that siege bombing would be less bloody for civilians than the long-established method of starvation blockades.
The V1, was a flying jet robot bomb that was developed by the Luftwaffe, also at Peenemünde, and it was far cheaper than the V2 and probably more military bang for the buck. General Dornberger thought that the two weapons complemented each other in various ways militarily. And he was also working on a Nazi surface-to-air missile called the Wasserfall.
In his memoirs, Nazi Armaments Minister Albert Speer, who did a twenty-year hitch in Spandau prison after the Nuremberg Trials, says that in retrospect he would have put priorities on the Wasserfall SAM rather than the Vergeltungswaffen or Payback Weapons.
But that still would not have won the war.
The Americans had the money to develop not one but four strategic bombers, and built three of them in huge numbers, plus two types of atomic bombs. The Germans had to choose their weapons research more carefully.
The government must generously fund Big Science, but that does not always mean that it always has to be for killing people. I am not a fan of JFK or LBJ, but both of them understood this. And yes, the space program ─ and the Moon Landings especially ─ does make me proud.

There is so much erroneous talk of why there is no savior of our people, as if he could simple save his people, and seize the glory for eternity. Truly I have heard this sentiment expressed by so many by our intellectuals. It amazes me to think people believe this savior will be treated with respect and honor, just look at what happens to any of our number when they pick up our cause. Verily this savior will be scorned by his own people and treated like the prophets of old.
