Given that no palatable solutions exist, maintaining the taboo, while imperfect, may be the most prudent course to preserve social cohesion.
Those who argue for open discussion of racial differences often point to the wealth of data supporting the existence of biological disparities. From IQ studies to crime statistics, the evidence is consistent: blacks, on average, score lower on cognitive ability tests and exhibit higher rates of antisocial behavior compared to whites and Asians. This pattern is not a recent phenomenon; researchers have always been able to marshal data showing that blacks were less productive and prone to conspicuous consumption.
Yet, the problem is not the validity of the science but the implications of its widespread acceptance. If society acknowledges that blacks are biologically predisposed to lower IQ and higher impulsivity, it must then answer the question: What do we do about it? Historically, such acknowledgments have led to segregation, discrimination, and even coercive eugenics. Today, any policy proposal rooted in biological realism—such as compensating low-IQ black women to not reproduce or the promotion of genetic screening—would be met with fierce opposition. Even private initiatives, such as a billionaire-funded foundation for genetic editing, would likely be shut down due to public outrage. Likewise, an alternative proposal like mass repatriation to Africa will not be entertained by the political establishment. Although, blacks are entertained when they propose relocating to Africa to escape perceived racism, a politician suggesting that the government sponsor the migration of blacks to Africans would be voted out of office.
Human societies rely on myths and shared fictions to function. The belief in racial equality, even if biologically inaccurate, serves as a necessary fiction that prevents the collapse of intergroup relations. Research in social psychology has shown that perceived equality fosters cooperation, whereas emphasis on inherent differences fuels division. If whites and Asians were to openly regard blacks as less intelligent and more prone to criminality, the result would not be a productive policy debate but increased prejudice, discrimination, and possibly violence which would be directed at these groups by blacks. Blacks are notorious on twitter for threatening people with violence whenever they are criticised, so can you imagine the magnitude of their response if we were to openly affirm the biological basis of race differences?
Moreover, the case of Karmelo Anthony, who murdered Austin Metcalfe and received support from segments of the black community, exemplifies the challenges of racial differences in behavior. Blacks not only contributed to his legal fund but many have rebranded him as a twenty-first century Rosa Parks. The response of blacks to the repugnant behavior of Anthony indicates stark racial differences in moral reasoning which has long been established by writers who observe that blacks are more likely to excuse wrongdoing.
The existence of these facts leaves society with an uncomfortable choice: either perpetuate the myth that disparities are purely environmental or acknowledge the truth and accept that no equitable solution exists. The former, while dishonest, maintains social stability; the latter risks provoking racial hostility and conflict. Given these options, it is rational to prefer the taboo.
Matt Yglesias’s support for the taboo on discussing racial differences is not an endorsement of ignorance but a recognition of the pragmatic limits of public discourse. The science may be clear, but the political and social ramifications of its widespread acceptance are dire. In the absence of feasible solutions, openly acknowledging racial differences would only inflame tensions without offering a path forward.
Until a politically and morally acceptable solution emerges—whether through advanced genetic engineering or some other means—maintaining the taboo is the least harmful option. It allows society to function without descending into racial animosity or embracing unpalatable policies. The choice is not between truth and lies, but between destabilizing honesty and stabilizing fiction. For the sake of social peace, the latter is preferable.

Well I think the premise is wrong. There are societies, such as Malaysia and Singapore, where group differences are understood, and it does not lead to widespread breakdown of civilization. I think data to suggest the opposite doesn’t exist and couldn’t possibly exist, and like much that comes out of academia is likely faked. I think the falsehood of equality has rather created an arrogant, entitled pet minority and destruction of civilizational standards. I think contrariwise that telling black people they are equal, if not better in every way, when they obviously have major social problems, leads to riots and violence, like with Anthony and blm.
I agree that this is not something that should be talked about all the time, for example in grade school or tv constantly, but there are many unpleasant truths that people in general are aware of, such as differences in ability among individuals, that are acknowledged and not constantly rehearsed. But there should be a general wisdom among policy makers and academics, for example, that group differences exist.

Imho it is something that needs to be talked about as much as equity & “racial representation” is talked about now, in other words, all the time.
Train kids to pursue what they are good at, even if it’s as simple as sorting things by color, etc. Train them to stop comparing themselves against others, and concentrate on doing the best that they can with their innate (usually physical) abilities. And another tip for majority black schools: just like the “Stop, drop & roll” presentations the fire dept rep would give years ago, offer frequent but brief tips on listening & following directions, esp. when pulled over by police.
Unfortunately, Baltimore teachers have said they’ve given up on trying to educate the youths & are now just training kids on “becoming activists”. And I have no doubt that these “teachers” are being rewarded generously to indoctrinate black students to agitate & threaten physical harm in order to become successful in America.
Another place for honest discussion is at any of the umpteen ongoing civil rights icon speaking tours. At the Q&A sessions, ask the black civil rights icon what s/he thinks of the popular trend of voluntary black self segregation on many campuses these days (in housing, job fairs, graduation ceremonies, etc.)
If you read the literature from pre 1960s in the south, it doesn’t harp on the differences between whites and other groups, but we know that the people in that time and place well understood those differences. Some discretion is a good thing for social harmony, but that doesn’t necessitate ignorance and bad policy. The assumption of equality implies a problem that has to be fixed(black underachievement), which would be bailing an ocean in this case. I think black leadership has in some sense given up on the concept of black uplift, coming to realize this is impossible for most of them, and turned to ever more cynical hucksterism.
however, I think a lot of the divide on race has to come from the white side. White really don’t like each other, and White liberals simply use underachieving groups as a battering ram against other Whites. Nobody really cares about blacks or Hispanics; whites wanna fight with each other.

I’d suggest threats & violence, as opposed to hucksterism. Even watching 1960s civil rights demonstration footage, the black leaders use commie-style threats of violence to get politicians to hand them more perks. DarkPlato, from everything I’ve seen you write here, & earlier on in C-C, you happen to strike me as not only, not a White person, but also as someone who is very unfamiliar with how the West operates.
On the other hand, living the lie to placate a cornered animal is not stabilizing. Moreover the mass conscription cuckholdery of underwriting dysgenic breeding and stealing resources from the eugenic populations is what has been done for 70 years. It only compounds the problems.
The noble lie of the evils of Whites and all they do as a means to placate savagery is only resulting in ever escalating savagery and ever diminishing civilization.
Perhaps what is needed is a new noble lie; one that would be used to reconstitute a combination of a truly effective American Colonization Society and Liberia and ending the forced mass dysgenic cuckholdry of the welfare state. Our death as the price of keeping the peace is not an option.
That leads to looking at the other side of the, “we must embrace the lie to keep the peace argument.” That is to look at what is beginning to happen as witnessed by the response to Shiloh Hendrix. Her GSG is a proxy for a majority who is perishing at the expense of the noble lie that you propose we continue to live under. It may be that something far worse will explode as the survival instinct in the group whose extinction is mandated by the current noble lie re-emerges under ever increasing pressure. Peace today for subjugation and extinction tomorrow is the other alternative. None of them are better than a prudent approach where courage is applied to effective long time horizon problem solving.
I will close by saying that Matt Yglesias may not have an ethic behind his use of the noble lie. I believe Yglesias wants to import so many people that America’s population would be increased to one billion people. If he were motivated by an ethic in his pursuit of the noble lie he would not seek to radically exacerbate the current ills by increasing the pool of potential savages by 700 million people. It is one thing to want to ignore a minor problem, but it is another to want to increase it by 2 orders of magnitude and triple the coefficient in front of the exponent.
To say that Matt Yglesias being used as our moral compass is a grim proposition is a great understatement.

There’s no other explanation for a black American high school graduate’s failure within society, if the importance of a high IQ (and the civilizing traits closely associated with higher IQs) & the typical low IQs for Africans, is kept top secret.

I concur. If we must accept the mistaken premise that there are no average racial differences, then the default explanation for differences in outcome is the usual institutionalized this and legacy of that or some other kind of malice on our part. The solution, of course, is for us to open our wallets. Decades of agitprop later, and trillions thrown away on social levelling, and all this is starting to wear thin. This can’t go on.

Mostly benefits blacks for sure, but the one thing it does that hurts them is the ever growing resentment from more and more ordinary white people who used to have the proper opinion of them but are past the point of caring anymore. The fatigue is real and only getting worse.
Maintaining this taboo means that Whites will continually be blamed for lower Black/Hispanic/Arab text scores, higher crime rates, average income etc. Without open race realism, we are left with no way to counter the argument that all disparities are the result of White misdeeds, whether past or present, and that Whites are therefore morally obligated to “fix” the problems of other groups. All one needs to do is turn on the news or browse the internet for a while and see that maintaining the comfortable lie is hardly the solution. I had a coworker that would excuse the absolute worst behavior of nearly any black person in the news except those who he considered a sell-out. I overheard him once tell another black coworker that “Yo, somebody need to kill that bitch” when talking about Candace Owens. He hated Bill Cosby, not for drugging and raping black women, but for the unpardonable sin of offering tough love criticism to young black people at a commencement speech years ago. And those are black people! Imagine how they feel when one of us says something similar. I think the best way forward may be for white people to just stop regurgitating all of the same old same old “We’re all the same color underneath” nonsense and not be afraid to say we are different, we will always be different, and maybe it’s time for you to go and build your Wakanda and be free from us hateful mayo monkeys once and for all.

There was a mildly mentally retarded 17 yo in our neighborhood, always happy-go-lucky & riding his scooter around. When I was teaching my youngest son to hit a nerf baseball off a “T” on our front lawn, he asked if he could try. I said,”Sure!” He swung the bat 3x and missed each time. Then, in a fit of immediate spontaneous frustration, he threw the bat, picked up my 3yo by the throat & started to choke him. ?! The mildly retarded White kid didn’t have hardware allowing the thought: tightly squeezing the throat can be fatal. It was rather scary because he was a BIG kid & didn’t possess the intellect for actions & their consequences.
I’ve heard the phrases “retard strength” & “strong as a retard”. What it describes is not muscular strength, but a lack of awareness of the cause of physical pain, such as: Fire is what’s hurting my hand, therefore, I’ll avoid touching fire. That was one of several reasons I stopped reading AmRen a few years ago.
I have to respectfully disagree with the author on his conclusion. While the current narrative maintains some degree of social harmony, it also has several flaws:
1. It encourages Blacks to view disparities in racial outcomes, including in crime statistics, as due to racism. The system we live in is one in which the police are constantly accused of anti-Black policies, the school system is accused of systemic racism, etc. This narrative is immensely psychologically damaging to those Whites who believe in it.
2. Using shame to force people to believe an obvious lie is inherently degrading. There is a reason that similar tactics are used in psychological warfare: by forcing a person to lie to him or herself, that person’s trust in their own mind becomes weakened and, with that, their willpower fades. White Americans are in desperate need of the opposite – our goal must be to end the psychological demoralization of White Americans and mobilize the better elements within our population.
3. Having gone to a high school with a large Black population (consisting of both American Blacks and Fresh Off the Boat Africans), it is obvious to me that catering to Black psychology is a bad idea. If we stop going along with their demands, while still giving them space, they’ll start to lose interest. Blacks are more predatory than Whites (obviously not all, and I mean no insult to the author by this) and often become more aggressive when weakness is shown. We have to stop acting like we’re afraid of them.
4. The current social narrative has resulted in a huge amount of race-mixing, a disproportionate amount of which is Black male x White female (and anyone who hauls out marriage statistics when 92% of Mulattos grow up in a fatherless home is either a liar or a coward).
The latter has a huge cultural impact. Women are more deeply affected, psychologically and physically, by who we partner with than men are. Microchimerism is real. I saw a lot of White girls hook up with Blacks when I was in high school and it did impact how they viewed the world, their physical development, and many other factors.
If Whites are going to have a good future, we will need a psychologically healthy alternative culture that facilitates our ability to network with each other. There’s no way to do that without being honest about Black x White differences.
I grew up in the South. It was largely understood among white people – except silly liberals – that blacks hailed from a different branch of the human family. Average lower IQ, more prone to anti-social behavior. It was also understood that respectable white people did not dwell upon the subject – especially in public.
It is folly to pretend that blacks and and whites are de facto equal. Then what explains the obvious differences in education, income, incarceration rates, etc.? Here the liberals have invented yet another falsehood as explanation: white privilege. This toxic term is a slur against white people. It inflames hatred among blacks towards whites.
Matthew Yglesaias is wrong. Truth is always superior to the lie – no matter how seemingly socially convenient the lie might be.

Maybe it’s a Southern thing, Bill. I’ve always lived in the South, the racially segregated South, until the Snivel Rights movement turned society upside down in the mid-60s with the “giant social experiment,” the failed social experiment of government-enforced integration of the races.
Whites pretty much got along with Blacks under segregation because Blacks knew their place: in their own communities.
We always had Black domestics, some of whom were practically part of our family. They were treated well by us, but they always went back to their own community at night.
We can never return to segregation again, any more than South African Whites can return to apartheid — exploiting Blacks. Today Blacks need us, but we do not need them! We must do our own domestic chores, we do not need them! We do not want to see them, hear them or smell them! Be gone.

Thank you, Hyacinth. I don’t give a whit about fairness, but do care about accuracy. The truth of the matter is that White South Africans exploited the Blacks in their midst, until ridiculously outnumbered by them, they “democratically” turned their nation over to the Blacks.

Will, I take your point. First, I used the word “fair” — perhaps incorrectly — as a more polite way of saying “inaccurate”, if it’s down to semantics… I still think that blacks benefit, overall, from being around Whites; even if they are considered to be “exploited”. They were given access to medical care, for one thing, that prolonged their lives beyond what they would have had. As in America, the population of blacks exploded — rather than to be naturally controlled by disease, famine, etc.
I guess one thing we might agree on: Blacks simply must not be allowed access to White societies. I’m not sure I understand the tone of this article. The deal being offered here is ‘live the lie under a kind of coercion’, or risk chimpouts. But that’s just living under a kind of evil. We shouldn’t be sitting here discussing this, we should be hammering Trump and Musk and Vance with this stuff. Full spectrum saturation. Not necessarily we expect them to do something but to push these ideas further onto the table for the future.
If society acknowledges that blacks are biologically predisposed to lower IQ and higher impulsivity, it must then answer the question: What do we do about it? Historically, such acknowledgments have led to segregation, discrimination, and even coercive eugenics.
The dilemma is that since the Civil Rights Revolution went into force back in the 1960s-60s, America has ended segregation, discrimination, and coercive eugenics against blacks. But what has been the response: segregation, discrimination, and coercive eugenics against white people.
Look at affirmative action, DEI, attacks on white icons and history, de facto if not de jure bans on white people organizing to promote their own interests, massive black on white violence starting with the 1960s Long Hot Summer riots and continuing through the BLM color revolution of recent years. Let us not leave out the Great Replacement.
Point is, white people lived up to their end of the Civil Rights bargain but the anti-whites did not. If anything, the anti-whites viewed the concessions that white people had made as symptoms of weakness which could then be exploited to gain ascendancy. Hence, the Coalition of the Marginalized. Hence the ongoing pushing of rackets such as reparations for slavery with many more acts yet to play out.
The conservatives are correct in stating that “the Democrats are the real racists” but they miss the point: it is that very racism which gives the Democrats their political strength. Why, then, should they want to surrender their edge?
This leaves several options for white nationalists:
Re-imposition of the pre-Civil Rights social order of white dominance. But since this order did not prevent the Civil Rights Revolution, it would be a dead end and more so given the massive social changes of the last seven decades.
Organize alternative institutions. White student unions, white professional groups, white civil liberties fronts, a transnational network of white nationalist advocates. Recent attempts along these lines have been met with considerable repression from the political regime and its media allies. Still, something to be considered given the current White House administration.
Geographical separation, say as a result of some massive civil conflict which causes the country to fall apart as happened with the breakup of the USSR. White people then establish their own ethno-state.
All options to be considered in the continuing chaos…
I completely disagree with the conclusion of the above article; namely, that it is better all around for society to preserve the taboo of ignoring race realism. Firstly, this policy is NOT having the stabilizing effect the author insists upon. It is openly disempowering and destroying White people, while further inflaming the ingratitude, resentfulness, violence and treachery of the black race. Secondly, The Big Lie of racial equality is used to increase the political power of blacks as a group; enabling them to destroy the White race legally and systematically through political measures, rather than just randomly as victims of black physical violence. No — and in fact, hell NO! It has to stop.
That’s the thing though…There’s no social cohesion with the big lips…We do more harm to ourselves, if we continue to lie to ourselves.
If there’s one thing Christ has taught to me, it was to be honest with yourself and to others. That way either they love you or hate you, for you being just you.
Still though, we can not solve the big lip problem, because they’re only a symptom of a sickness and that is, the big nose disease.
When, not if, but when we cure the big nose disease, all the symptoms can be cured, with very little effort.

Unfortunately, I can’t agree with the conclusions of this article. On the contrary, “social peace” is what the Whites should be least interested in now, because in the current conditions it means maintaining a disastrous order of things for our race. Our ultimate goal is to build our own ethnostate, which involves the separation of races and the creation of a new social order. Only after the establishment of the state, which we can rightfully call our own, our duty will become concern for its prosperity and harmonious development.
Lipton, you are a craven COWARD. WHY are you afraid of negroes threatening violence? A young White mother, defending her little boy, in a park, has infinitely more courage than you will EVER have. I’m a woman and I’ve NEVER backed down from negroes. They smell fear like animals do. If they know you are willing to take it to “the end” then THEY back down. You have to mean it though. They’ll know it if you don’t. Stop being afraid. Give it BACK.

I agree with both of your statements, highlighlited above, Hyacinth. Imagine how it will be when millions of Whites agree with racial separation instead of thousands.

There is already a law of biology (Gause’s law of exclusion) which states that multiple animal species with the same requirements cannot coexist in the long term in the same habitat. One will eventually replace the others, which will become extinct. This law can also be applied to human races occupying the same territory: one race will eventually assimilate or replace its competitors.
Interesting. I’ve been pointing out for years that environmentalists use the term “habitat succesession” to describe this phenomenon among competing sub-species, while they ignore that human races must follow this same law of Nature.
