The Non-Exploding Boom Mic & Everything That Could Go Wrong

Spencer J. Quinn

1,521 words

Something unprecedented occurred on March 14th. A reporter shoved a boom microphone into the face of the President of the United States. This occurred while Donald Trump was addressing the press on the tarmac of Join Base Andrews military base in Maryland. Another weird incident occurring in our exceedingly weird times. Who knows what to make of this? Was it an accident? A threat? A passive-aggressive jab at Trump and everything he stands for? Some were even suggesting it was another assassination attempt. If the CIA could rig a cigar to explode—as with Fidel Castro—then why not a boom mic? It’s not like the CIA didn’t recently hint they might commit treason if Trump were to sick Elon Musk’s DOGE on them.

All we know at this point is that the reporter, a woman named Danielle Kurtzleben, works for National Public Radio and is being called a Trump-hating leftist. We can thank Laura Loomer—and not NPR—for divulging Kurtzleben’s identity two days after the incident. Since being outed, Ms. Kurtzleben has locked down and then closed her X account and refused to talk about the incident. NPR is keeping mum too.

In the wake of silence, awkward questions arise as they always do. Has this woman been detained and questioned? Has she or NPR been banned from the White House press pool? If it was an accident, why is NPR being so light-lipped about her? Who in the Secret Service allowed such a slip up to occur, and are they facing consequences? And why is the White House Correspondents’ Association saying nothing about any of this?

It seems to me that the passive-aggressive jab theory is likely correct, and that this incident isn’t anything more than what it seems: a petty, spiteful person lashing out at authority in a petty, spiteful way. Kurtzleben’s Substack page seems to be overflowing with petty, so this theory makes some sense. According to the Gateway Pundit:

The description for Kurtzleben’s Substack page, titled, “This F**king Job”, reads, “A newsletter by a smartass, middle-of-the-pack political reporter, about (1) how the news works and (2) gender politics (especially mmmmmMASCULINITY). And then (3) every so often I just write something to amuse myself.”

A teaser from Kurtzleben’s subscription only Substack article dated October 30, 2024, reads: “You may have heard that Donald Trump recently talked about Arnold Palmer’s penis in a campaign speech. I certainly did. My brand (which is more or less ‘penis politics’) is strong, and so once the remark happened, peo…”

Might explain how that boom mic ended up in Trump’s face.

Yes, that’s not a bad joke, but when placed within the context of Donald Trump’s having already survived an assassination attempt and closely avoided a second one, this incident reminds us of how precarious our present situation is. What do we do if, God forbid, somebody actually does get to Trump?

Before we answer, we should step back and assess Trump’s value in present-day politics as well as historically. In both cases, his value has become immeasurably high—high because he is the first modern president to fight the Left as hard as the Left fights against the Right; and immeasurable only because his excellent second term has just started and we don’t know how things will turn out. In a recent essay of mine, a commenter took me to task for my “strange and abrupt fawning over Trump” in light of Trump’s enthusiasm for Israel and for his promise to primary America-first Congressman Thomas Massie for opposing his recent government funding bill. There are many on the right who view Trump or any American politician through what I would call ZOG-tinted glasses—his overall worth depends first upon his lack of fealty to Israel and its American proxies such as AIPAC. The less fealty the better. Such people are the opposite of Ben Shapiro. Ben Shapiro and other Israel-firsters would oppose an American politician that is openly hostile to Israel, despite whatever good that politician may accomplish. By the same token, the extreme anti-ZOG right would oppose any American politician that is submissive to Israel, despite whatever good that politician may accomplish.

In a way, the anti-ZOGers make the most sense. If American whites were to wake up to the JQ overnight, then many of our problems would dissipate almost as quickly. Anti-Semitism would become embedded in the law, causing the collapse most leftist institutions and the self-deportation of most Jews (as happened in the Soviet Union in the 1960s and 1970s). Without the legal cover and funding provided by Jews, most non-whites would have less protection against deportation and discrimination, which would force many of them to self-deport as well. The resulting political absence would also allow openly pro-white forces to flourish, which would cause the nation’s culture to shift even further to the right. As for blacks, they would soon realize that without Jewish sponsorship, their Civil Rights Movement would evaporate. Most of them would gladly return to second-class citizenship in return for not having to face the wrath from whitey they so richly deserve.

The problem with such thinking, however, is that it expects the collective mind to be able to forget seventy years of social conditioning and reverse course right away. Just because one individual can have an experience jarring enough to pull the curtain from the JQ, does not mean millions can do the same. No one experience is strong enough to do that short of a large-scale war.

The collective mind instead changes gradually, with more and more people having paradigm-shifting experiences and sharing them and learning from them. This is how history turns in the absence of great trauma—slowly, but maybe not inexorably. Donald Trump, whether he realizes it or not, has done more than any single person to resist the neo-liberal globalist tide, which reached its zenith perhaps 30 years ago. Running for president in 2015 on a relatively restrictive immigration platform—and getting major popular support for it—started it all, of course. But his second term has seen the slaughter of pretty much all the left’s sacred cows—except for Israel. This doesn’t make Trump a weak president or some uniparty stooge. It means he and his people are prompting a change in the collective mind of whites, a change towards nationalism and populism. And from here, tribalism and race realism are only a hop and a skip away. If things keep going the way they’re going, there will eventually be a peaceful yet firm reckoning with the Jews and Israel. The Left is as much afraid of the metapolitical changes Trumpism will lead to as they are about defunding the globalist money laundering operation that was USAID or abolishing the Marxist propaganda enterprise that was the Department of Education.

This recent clip on the View, collected by Mark Dice, is a case in point.

These women are disturbed by Trump’s deportation of criminal illegal immigrants, not so much for any violation of criminals’ rights, but because if Americans are comfortable with deporting dangerous illegals, then they will be comfortable with deporting anyone. We have Donald Trump to thank most of all for this sea change among white Americans. Deportations are now considered normal. Good. And I hope Whoopi Goldberg’s concern turns out to be valid. If Trump’s efforts to hobble the Left continue, perhaps one day we will end non-white immigration and deport all immigrants who’ve ever broken the law, regardless if they’re legal or not. Would Greg Johnson’s Slow Cleanse be a natural extension of such a scenario? Who knows? But what I do know is that Donald Trump 2.0 is getting us closer to—not further away from—when this could actually happen.

So back to the question: what to do if someone, God forbid, gets to Trump the way that Danielle Kurtzleben so easily could have? My hope is that this horrific act would trigger such a militant crackdown on the Left that blue states would want to secede. Remember, Red State Secession makes less sense with a popular Republican in the White House than it did during the Biden doldrums of 2020-2024. Instead, we can now hope for Blue State Secession, which is essentially the same thing. Perhaps it could begin with Calexit. Again, who knows?

And if it seems that I want this apocalyptic scenario to happen, I certainly don’t. In such a case, we would be playing with fire. Many, many people could be killed in the resulting strife, which would have nothing stopping it from spinning out of control and becoming hemispheric, if not global. Best would be for Donald Trump, Elon Musk, and their MAGA allies to continue doing what they are doing, and effecting gradual metapolitical change among American whites, so that someday a white ethnostate in North America can not only be thinkable, but doable.

In the meantime, however, I dearly hope Trump’s people have a plan in place in case he ever gets hit something more potent than a boom mic. To be on the safe side, Trump should probably stay away from cigars as well.

He only has four years . Perhaps only two before the midterms. A CNN poll has the democrats approval rating at just 7%, if that trend continues the republicans may add even more seats in both houses. If that’s the case then there’s no telling what he can accomplish.

      Yes, that’s pretty much spot on Spencer.  And currently, there are a lot of things making this happen in regards the Jewish question/problem;

the continued student uprisings and protests against the Jewish genocide of the Palestinian people, the recent tide of black celebrities such as Kanye, Kyrie Irving, and Dave Chapelle, coming out about the Jewish problem.  The many popular podcasters such as Theo Von and others talking about, or their guests talking about the Jewish problem (Bryce Mitchell)  And even mainstream journalists such as Tucker Carlson, and Ann Coulter walking a very fine line in exposing Jewish supremacy without explicitly mentioning it.

Discussing the Jewish problem publicly has become in a way, the new gay.  We all know that Elon knows by his X posts and we all just want to say to him; ‘okay Elon, we know you know, come on man, just come at and say it – it’s the Jews!  lol…’

“…his excellent second term has just started and we don’t know how things will turn out.” He’s already said if he gets assassinated we’re going to war with Iran on behalf of Israel. Did he say if he gets killed that JD Vance and others should work to save white people? Did he say ‘white people’ in any context?

I get it, you’re saying certain adjacent moves become possible when Trump does X, Y, or Z but if this is winning this is the most cringeworthy path to victory.

He loves jews and they despise him, including zionists who think he’s a pushover sap who’ll bark and roll over whenever they say. How is this any different from anti-White dementosexuals and neo-farksists pandering to the night people for an afro-acceptance shiny ‘anti-racist’ crusader badge and head pat?

Well said, Adrian. That’s what it’ll ultimately come down to. Some decisive point in the future will require White men to do what must be done. And they will, because they must.

This is my big fear, for what it’s worth. The Jews, especially the neocons and their puppets (talkin’ to YOU Rubio, Huckabee, etc.) are like neuroparasites who take control of movements and their top non-Jewish people and get them to engage in self-destructive behavior that benefits the parasites (at least in the short run). Like Toxoplasma Gondii gets mice to forget their fear of cats they got W. to froget his fear of unneccesary wars–which might have been real or just nominal, but at any rate he did campaigne on it–and plung the Republican party to its near death.

Now like a horsehair worm they are attempting to guide Trumps to take the leap into the lake of war with Iran.

There are only two reasons why humans love or hate anything: implication or association (very roughly corresponding to emotion or reason), with the latter being what drives most normies too much of the time. This is very much both why White Nationalists made no headway for so many years (the left was able to irrationally associate them with Hollywood genocides and low-IQ, violent thugs, while those of the status quo were stupidly associated with the country’s relative prosperity) and why they are now (the present turmoil is de facto owned by the left, while we’ve become assoiated with opposition to it and with a better alternative).

Now I fear the leftist Jews have allowed the Israeli nationalist Jews (terrified of the Oct 7 events and their aftermath and eager to make the final push against Iran) persuade them to not pull another ’20 and let Trump win. By pushing Trump to war with Iran they can both give the Israelis what they want and then crash the markets–which can’t be put off much longer anyway–and have Trump and what metapolitical views our side stands for be destroyed by association. One might not mind having uncouth stowaways on a ship, and might be inclined to rebuke those who complain constantly of them, but if those freeloaders are taking the helm and turning the ship toward the rocks, the fact that for now it’s going in the right direction hardly matters.

Good analysis. I also fear war with Iran. It would be terrible for the whole world, and therefore great for Israel.

For some reason, Jews really hate Trump. Not just his supporters & not just Whites, but Trump personally. You don’t get more sycophantically pro-Jew than Trump, and yet most Jews hate him. Maybe this fact will influence him against attacking Iran.

It would be idiotic for Trump to declare war on Iran (though we should hit them with missiles occasionally if they attack Americans overseas), just as his tariffs are idiotic. All such actions distract from his main purpose: permanently securing the border, and deporting all 35-40 million illegal aliens. If he only accomplishes those things, he will be remembered as a great president.

[BTW, I responded to you on the Le Pen obituary thread, but you never acknowledged it.]

Yeah, I know, sorry about that. I’ve had my autoimmune crap get worse and just got back to checking CC stuff in the last few days. What I was going to tell you is this. First of all, thanks for replying to my comment. I certainly understand that you’re too busy with work, so I guess the best option would be the third one: I will post (assuming Dr. Johnson approves it) my views on protectionism vs free trade and you can comment on it. I should have it, or at least the first essay, done in a few days. You can then comment on it if you’d like. Again, I apologize for not responding to your comment sooner.

I voted twice for Reagan, and was glad he was our President in the 80s. But there never was any Reagan Revolution (in anything, even reducing the size and expense of government). Trump could easily surpass Reagan as the nest President since Coolidge (who was the last truly excellent President, with honorable mentions to Trump and, less so, Reagan).

It’s not what Donald Trump does over the next four years. It is what the Dissident Right will do now that the Overton Window is headed rightward.

The primary goal must be to build a pro-White legal-activist organization. This is to defend and promote the interests of White people, regardless of which party is ensconced in the Beltway.

With Trump’s pardons of the January 6th demonstrators, and conservatives talking about reconsidering the Derek Chauvin case, there is room here to end the lawfare against the Charlottesville ’17 folks.

Some other issues to rally public support: participating in disaster relief (as a sort of propaganda of the deed ala Patriot Front); supporting parents at schoolboards; pushing for deportations; restoring statues torn down in the iconoclasm of the last several years; and directing more propaganda towards critical influencers who appear to be already reading websites like C-C.

Let’s not waste these opportunities by petty purity spiraling or diverting energies to third worldism and other distractions.

Need to network with pro-Whites in the emerging national-populist movements in Europe and other places. And since Trump and Musk are taking up the cause of the Boers, look at forming some sort of solidarity with White South Africans. Perhaps a pro-Tesla ™ flash demonstration or banner drop to counter the recent Leftist campaign against drivers and dealers? Might get some high level notice with clandestine contributions for nationalists.
