A beautiful film. The Sardaukar introduction scene left me in awe in a way few things in modern movies do. Villeneuve has read his Georges Bataille.
Pish, Posh! Leto II is the man (or worm, archaic term for dragon), he forced humanity through an evolutionary bottleneck, and saved mankind from a “Skynet” type of destruction. “Dune” is really nothing more than a dynasty change.
How do they do dune without feyd rautha? Me no understand. I always identified with feyd.
im curious if Greg might elaborate on his time at morehouse. Does he mean that he didn’t get tenure there? Was his extrusion from morehouse what set him on the path to the Dark Side?
I can’t get over the historically black colleges. Whites seldom get tenure in them. They are a thing completely funded and created by whites yet rather than showing appreciation, they can’t wait to turn around and bite the hand that feeds them. The one rationalization I could make for them was that they created jobs for white phds, a class which I retain some sympathy for, since I used to be in grad school.
Wait a second, the universe that Greg worked at was Morehouse, the black university?
