American History X

2,594 words

Director Tony Kaye’s anti-skinhead morality tale American History X (1998) is proof that propaganda is far from an exact science. Just as Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket caused a surge in Marine recruitment, American History X actually increases audience sympathies with neo-Nazi skinheads, despite its best efforts to present them as hateful hypocrites and losers.  Read more …

The Worst Week Yet:
December 6-12, 2020

Phil Eiger Newmann, Any Day Now, 2020.

1,899 words

Since we live in a world dominated by white men — heck, even the rock-climbing world is “dominated by white men” — it’s odd to behold how openly hostile most of this world’s major institutions are toward white men.

Our objective news media has been warning us for years about the “far Right,” which is an extreme movement that is always on the rise and always threatening to erupt into cataclysmic violence, an ever-looming possibility that all People of Color must wrestle with, Read more …

Black Gorilla Crime Syndicates

Phil Eiger Newmann, Gorilla, 2020.

1,506 words

Maybe it’s because I’m a racist, but I get intrigued when I hear that a part-time rapper who calls himself “Casanova” gets indicted on federal charges along with 17 other members of a street gang calling itself “Untouchable Gorilla Stone Nation.”

Proof that I’m a racist is that I find it funny whenever black people refer to themselves as gorillas.

Casanova is the only member of his crew who at the moment is not in custody. Read more …

Rubicon Don:
An Open Letter to President Trump

1,300 words

Dear President Trump,

There can be no circumstance under which you will not be our president for the next four years. Of course, I don’t presume to know even a fraction of what you know about the fraud the Democrats have been perpetrating against the American people these past few days. It’s outrageous. It’s criminal. You know it. I know it. The American people know it. Read more …

Bleeding Ulster:
Lessons for White Advocates in Mostly What Not to Do

6,987 words

Northern Ireland is unique. The Wars of Religion that made seventeenth-century Europe a blood-soaked hellscape never ended there. To describe the situation in Northern Ireland simply, the Republicans — or Nationalists — are nearly all Catholic (or better said, culturally Catholic) and see themselves as Native Irish Gaels. Phil Eiger Newmann, Biden for President, 2020.

1,748 words

Election Day forecast: partly cloudy with widespread outbreaks of political violence.

As the weirdest presidential campaign in history hobbles to a close during this odd post-American era during which America still pretends it’s a country, polls show that Americans agree more on the fact that there will be post-election violence than they can agree on the election’s winner. With so much unrest happening in so many places these days, it’s hard to make sense of it all. America is fracturing, that much we can see. In the wake of Charlottesville and other street battles between pro-whites and the Antifa, it is a good idea to take a look at the legal aspects of self-defense. For unlike movies and TV shows where the villain is killed by the hero and the show ends with the hero honored by all, violent self-defense has serious legal ramifications that could last for years. Notes on Schmitt’s Crisis & Ours

Carl Schmitt, 1888–1985

3,994 words

Like many of his books, Carl Schmitt’s The Crisis of Parliamentary Democracy (1923) is a slender volume packed with explosive ideas.[1] The title of the English translation is somewhat misleading. The German title, Die geistesgeschichtliche Lage des heutigen Parlamentarismus, is more literally rendered The Intellectual-Historical Position of Contemporary Parliamentarism. But the word “crisis” is still appropriate, because parliamentary democracy in Weimar Germany really was in crisis. Read more …

March 1917 in June 2020

3,515 words

A recurring theme in Book 1 of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s March 1917 — or Node III of his vast Red Wheel opus — is “this could have been prevented.” Of course, this refers to the first successful socialist revolution in Russia, which took place in March 1917 (or in February, according to the Julian Calendar). In March 1917, Solzhenitsyn offers a wealth of perspective on the fateful events in Petrograd which led to the abdication of the Tsar and the monarchy’s ultimate replacement with the Provisional Government.
