Trump’s base has evolved since he first ran for president in 2016. His supporters now are younger and more racially diverse. Trump saw gains among all racial minorities in 2024–especially Latinos and Asians—and even won over the majority of Latino men.
This has coincided with another interesting trend. Whereas the popular image of Trump voters in 2016 was one of struggling white hillbillies, young Trump supporters are now adopting the aesthetic associated with the mainstream Republican Party and projecting a self-assured, upwardly mobile image. Supporting Trump no longer brands one as a pariah and a low-status white person the way it did in 2016.
Nowhere was this trend more apparent than at the Power 30 Awards, a TikTok-sponsored inauguration party for influencers who supported Trump. The party, which was the subject of a recent hit piece in New York Magazine, was held at a glitzy nightclub and lounge decorated with red velvet and gilt. Its attendees sported tuxedos and gowns. They are not outsiders: Gen-Z MAGA influencers have hundreds of thousands of followers and are at the helm of a “massive cultural realignment.” We are told that they are overwhelmingly white, but some of them have names like “Backlas-Cruz,” “Ginsberg,” and “Wexler.” The party was co-hosted by CJ Pearson, a famous black conservative influencer, and co-sponsored by Lebanese entrepreneur Tarek Mansour.
Their actual political views seem inchoate and ill-defined. They typically were drawn to the Right in reaction to the Left’s puritanism and “anti-fun” attitude. There is a taboo on the Left against being an unapologetically attractive white (or white-adjacent) person who loves partying and being young and beautiful. Attractive extroverts often up migrating to the Right because they want to be sexy and have fun and engage in influencer shenanigans without being scolded. (A number of MAGA influencers are women or gay men, which makes sense in light of this.)
Trump himself (in no small part thanks to Barron’s counsel) also played a role in the rise of the influencer Right by networking with influencers, streamers, and podcasters during his campaign. Kamala Harris counted on the mainstream media to carry her to victory and was too out-of-touch to realize that platforms like TikTok and Instagram are now more influential than CNN or the New York Times. CJ Pearson described the 2024 election as the “influencer election” and “the first of many influencer elections to come.”
I don’t object to the existence of influencers per se. Not everyone has to be an intellectual leader. We need an army of attractive social media gurus with a compelling aesthetic. However, the rise of the Gen-Z influencer Right points to a concerning societal trend—the commodification of “whiteness” as an aesthetic and the rise of cultural “whiteness,” which is gradually taking precedence over actual biological whiteness.
While 2010s fashion trends were characterized by an emphasis on diversity and inclusion, present aesthetic trends mimic white sensibilities, as evinced by the popularity of the “old money,” “clean girl,” “cottagecore”/tradwife, cowboy/Western, and “coastal grandmother” aesthetics. The popularity of these trends “speaks to the fact that the ideas they represent — whether it’s a rural lifestyle, traditional family values or an idealisation of ‘old money’ wealth — are edging their way back into the cultural mainstream,” in the words of one fashion journalist. I would go further: the one thing uniting the aforementioned aesthetic trends is their overwhelming implicit whiteness. The popularity of the “old money” aesthetic, for example, cannot merely be explained as an attempt to signal wealth. Cottagecore and Western fashion are just as popular as the “old money” trend despite their unsophistication. Moreover, there are other, less white-coded ways of signaling wealth. The desire (whether conscious or not) to emulate “whiteness” appears to be the main underlying force behind contemporary aesthetic trends.
The Kardashians used to be notorious for aping the aesthetic of black women and showing off their comically large posteriors. Now their aesthetic is more reserved and their political affiliation is ambiguous. Kim Kardashian, who endorsed Hillary Clinton in 2016, recently came under fire for posting a picture of Melania Trump on Inauguration Day. The Kardashians are savvy businesswomen on top of pop culture trends, so their behavior is a good indication of where the Zeitgeist is headed.
Similarly, Andrew Tate downplays his black heritage and an attempts to project an image of suave, white-collar masculinity. The manosphere disproportionately attracts off-white/non-white but “aspirationally white” men who adopt white-coded aesthetics to signal prestige and get bitches. (Non-whites have a more favorable view of Tate than whites by a large margin.) Think Davis Aurini pontificating in front of the camera dressed in a black suit while theatrically smoking a cigar with old books, bottles of liquor, and a plastic skull carefully positioned in the background. Young men like this have become one of Trump’s core demographics.
Liberals see the emergence of “white” aesthetic trends as a symptom of “white supremacy.” In reality, it is a symptom of white racial decline and a sign that we are heading toward Latin America, where “whiteness” is valorized by a racially mixed populace. The less white America becomes, the more Americans will cling to aesthetic “whiteness” and associate it with prestige. You could call this a form of “white supremacy,” but only in a cultural sense.
The valorization of cultural “whiteness” in diversifying societies is deeply nostalgia-driven. “The Roaring 20s ARE BACK,” enthused one poster on X in response to the inauguration party. Nostalgia is a sign of civilizational decay and decadence. Attempts to recreate the past can only produce flimsy, hollow replicas. Aspirational “whiteness” is about as authentic as Aurini’s plastic skull. Contemporary conservative influencers’ old-timey aesthetic does not honor the white America of yesteryear; it is a cringeworthy parody cooked up by hucksters and grifters, much in the same way that modern America makes a mockery of the concept of nationhood.
This isn’t the first time that “white”/“WASPy” fashion has been in vogue. The 1980s and 90s saw a surge of interest in “preppy” aesthetics following the publication of The Official Preppy Handbook. The “preppy” trend mirrors current aesthetic trends in many ways. The main difference is that while the former was explicitly associated with WASPs of a certain time and place, the latter invoke something more nebulous and point to general “whiteness.” What happened to WASPs in the latter half of the twentieth century—their replacement in centers of power by non-Anglos who adopted their cultural signifiers—is currently happening to white people as a whole.
This is essentially the thesis of Eric Kaufmann’s Whiteshift. Kaufmann argues that the definition of “white” will expand to include mixed-race people who are culturally white, and that white conservatives who would otherwise resist white displacement can be persuaded to get on board with this vision of the future. He cites the “whiteshift” underwent by WASPs in the twentieth century as a precedent for the broadening of the category of “whiteness” that will occur as America continues to diversify.
According to Kaufmann, white genocide is not an imminent threat because in 2200, racially mixed “white” Americans will venerate the Constitution and wear cowboy hats. This is like saying that WASP decline is a myth since people still wear polos and play tennis. We are supposed to believe that no real loss occurred. But today’s elites are different from WASPs and don’t share their way of life, even if they share certain outward characteristics. They are more self-serving and less civic-minded and have less respect for Western civilization and culture.
Similarly, the vast majority of males who don feminine articles of clothing will never come close to embodying womanhood. For them, femininity is a TikTok hashtag associated with a commodified aesthetic. Needless to say, the view that a man who merely adopts the external trappings of femininity is a “woman” is completely divorced from biological reality. The same applies to the view that mixed-race societies that aestheticize whiteness are “white.”
As Greg Johnson put it in his review of Whiteshift,
. . . Kaufmann tells us to relax, because in the post-white world, white-presenting people will receive pride of place in Bollywood movies and telenovelas. Such a world is on a spectrum with the cargo cultists of Melanesia, who imitate whites by building thatched airplanes in the hope they will deliver prosperity. It is not a flattering tribute. It is a grotesque mockery.
Unfortunately, Kaufmann is probably correct that most people on the Right can be convinced of the merit of his vision. People who care about the fate of the white race in North America out of principle must confront the fact that we belong to an unusually far-seeing and broad-minded minority. Most people simply experience an amorphous desire that their bloodline/in-group will persist into the future, and they can be persuaded that “patriotic white-presenting Americans” are their in-group. They want children who will somewhat resemble them and will share their values and traditions. This isn’t necessarily impossible to achieve if you marry out, especially if you marry a Hispanic or Asian woman. You can easily convince yourself that having a mixed-race child is not a big deal. On a society-wide scale, however, miscegenation has a hugely transformative impact.
This happens to be one of the reasons why erstwhile Alt-Right personality Walt Bismarck left White Nationalism. He identified as a White Nationalist because he felt attacked on the basis of being a white man and disliked cancel culture/“wokeness.” The rise of “beige-brown Zoomers who like Andrew Tate and dig Trump’s rizz” made him reconsider his emphasis on race.

It may not appear that way currently, but we are in the embryonic phase of a significant cultural transformation. Eric Kaufmann’s vision of a racially mixed “white” society, and not liberal multiculturalism, will pose the most formidable obstacle to White Nationalism in the coming years. Liberal multiculturalism does not threaten to divert conservatives from White Nationalism the way multiracial “white” civic nationalism does.
I’m glad that Trump won and that the Right is making a resurgence. At the same time, White Nationalists need to remain vigilant. We need to use Trump, not the other way around.

It’s because hilfiger has a big emblem on it. All those groups are into gross status displays. It bling adjacent. Like, have you seen when Ralph Lauren put those big old horses on their shirts? Supersize logos. That’s catering to that crowd.
I just thought it was odd that a line of clothing worn almost exclusively by black men had all white men modeling the clothes. It’s the exact opposite for LL Bean and virtually every other apparel brand.
Whereas I find the logos an embarrassment and would prefer they were not there. I’m Roman that way. But the companies are going to do what sells their product.

Kauffman and, “Whiteshift”, is here to consolidate the gains that the Kalergi Plan has made in the past 100 years. Only a minority of our people will choose to remain our people. It is blood and blood alone. Vance, Rufo and others represent the aspirations of The Empire. The Empire wants more consumers. It wants a total eradication of identity: heritage; particularity; blood. The people it most needs to break are the European peoples who fought centuries of wars to establish their right to particularity, only to so weaken themselves that they confused individuality and universalized abstractions with the freedom to enjoy their particulars.
The figure I pull from the wind is that 30% of our people will hold out. The Empire must hold itself together through racial, ethnic, religious and cultural incoherency. It will encourage “whiteness” rather than demonize it even as we become less white. This first phase will be intoxicating. Social pressure and shaming will not come through anti-White demonization but when the non-Whites discover how eager Whites are to be forgiven and accepted and how good it makes them feel when you adopt their ideas and play fair. If IQ is measured by time preference, Whites are very low IQ and their enemies very high IQ as they play the log game.
This will fall apart. This system is too easy to game and requires too many legitimacy draining exercises using ever more overt oppression and repression. In 15-20 years, the 30% of Whites in North America who decide to survive will form an official block. That number could be 10-20% larger depending on the system’s ability to provide affluence and offer various somas and opiates. It will also be affected by how overt and public the inevitable internecine elite power squabbles that will surely have an ethnic component, play out. It will also be susceptible to how intransigent the blacks are. Will they accept that their racial demands will have to be squashed with all other demands. Will they accept whiteness? They could monkey wrench the entire meritocracy, colorblind “Whiteshift”, project.
30% of 180 million is what we should count on having to work with. Most people do not want to struggle and suffer. I know plenty who are eager to say how nice Hispanics are, even when right in front of their faces they clearly love and preference their own. The Whites who refuse to see that will fade to brown. Those who are spiritually healthy will shine through the darkness and make it to the other side.
Your estimate of 30% seems high to me. I am thinking 20%. I hope you are right.
It was a finger in the wind. Discount the shitlibs who are totally lost – 20-30%. Discount the demoralized and deracinated 25-35% +- 5% was my back of the envelope. It shifts as high as 50% depending on how the Empire manages all of the genies that have escaped the bottle. I can foresee blacks not cooperating with being forced to accept colorblind and technocratic merit. That is where the Empire is headed. It is also making a statement that the multi-culti heritage stuff needs to go. There is a lot of tension between the military/security interest and the global merchant interest on that one. The former needs unity and purpose and the latter wants deracination and a shelf full of commodified discount identities until it gets to unsweetened caramel. How those things play out and those tensions managed will determine how many more racially conscious Whites are created.
I don’t think blacks are going to go back from where they have arrived. I think they are going to make a major stink as they held in their hands a signed sealed and delivered Reconstruction 2.0. In the meantime, the eye of Sauron may shift to them and we get a chance to do the endless work we need to build our redoubts that will someday be federated across geographic boundaries. With 30% and a few generations that return to spiritual health and virile virtues we can flower and even begin considering a Reconquista.
It is going to be a very wild ride in the meantime. We need to stay out of the fray and let the blacks and others make mistakes. It is likely that the Empire is in a worse situation than we know and this is a desperate move to hold on to the core demographic before they find themselves at bargaining tables with enemies who know the core demographic and ethnos has turned its back on them. We must use the opportunities this will present to strengthen our people and our position. Maybe success will drag another 10% in as success is attractive. Your assertion that most people do not wish to struggle and suffer is true, but I would add that the level of sacrifice and suffering required to establish a safe homeland is a burden that almost none can bare. Only a vanguard of the very best can do that, and the vanguard drags the second tier behind them, who in turn manage the rest. I’m going to take this opportunity to promote Dr. William Luther Pierce, a remarkable and prescient man, and a realistic model of discipline and sacrifice for our people, who never wavered, and was pretty well right about everything. I can’t express my disgust for “aspirational whiteness” enough in words. These people are more repulsive than the openly white hating nonwhites. Why? Because all these “aspirational whites” want is access to whites as sexual partners or as marks to make money off of. It’s standard grotesque con artistry. These people will talk about the goods of your society and people, but the second you talk about protecting your own interests as a group or exclusivity their real feelings come out. You have to allow them access; you have to gibsthemdat and damn you if you don’t.
Also, this playing dress up as white people is something I constantly observed in China which is populated by one of the most spiteful and hateful races on the planet.(and yes, they hate white people; Andrew Anglin is a moron). Yea, they like your stuff and they know you’re more trustworthy and nicer than a nonwhite, but it doesn’t change anything; the Asian girl that wears blue contacts and dyes her hair blond still thinks everything your ancestors built is owed to her just like any advantages that inheritance entails. I’m not disgusted. But I don’t trust flattery. And ‘assimilation’ by racial aliens doesn’t really provide anything to the Folk that the Folk could not provide for themselves (more Whites). If you can reasonably trace your ancestry back to Europe with few or no ‘blending’ with non-Whites, you should be given the benefit of the doubt on being ‘White’.

I’m with Arminius Maximus in feeling that easing up on overt is because the anti-White project is largely successful. Whites are a minority in 11 states in the USA and about to become minorities ins 6 more. As long as ‘voting white’ means voting for whatever the jews want, then ‘aspirational whiteness’ will be supported.
And that’s the point. Aspirational Whites can dispense with ‘whiteness’ simply by shifting outfits and ideologies. Actual Whites cannot.

The comment above about being the High Rock is absolutely correct. The Regime went peddle to the metal on anti-White the past ten years. My suspicion is that this really weakened their position internationally. How can you go to the bargaining table when everyone one at it knows you are warring with your entire core demographic and the core of your military … and they hate you back. Huge numbers of our people hate this regime – the young especially. There is also the gut punch of 10/7 that it was a volatile and maybe stupid project that had run its useful course.

These are not the DC party goers but the spirit and energy behind the American Remnant. At the same time the Left POC coalition is getting cut. Are they going to sit and take it?
The Regime has to make a choice just as young Whites do. I think the final strangle squeeze came to soon and too hard and young Whites are not going back anymore than black supremacists or Latinx who are raising their flag on our soil are going back. The Regime must pick a side. In the meantime, no matter what, we have to as that wonderful post said, be the High Rock. We must build and rest our fortunes in preparation for weathering the decline while becoming spiritually and physically stronger through the storm. How do you get back on board with a ruling elite that tried to genocide you?
There is no worse crime, both in its scale and its treachery. What they have done is the worst crime in history, and if it hasn’t been seen through to its completion (yet) it wasn’t for lack of intent. It was absolutely venomous. Anyone who can forgive such a thing doesn’t care about his race to begin with. In my opinion, the stone has been cast. Either they finish us off or they have to go, and that would require a total overhaul of Western governments, both in personnel and philosophy.

When I read this very sobering essay, I can’t help but think: did we just lose? Were we just hit in too many sensitive spots all at once (culturally, economically, psychologically)? Is the best that we can hope for in North America just an archipelago of Orianas? If white truly becomes “aspirational”, then at least we won’t have a South Africa situation to worry about. Maybe the little towns become big self-sufficient cities, and then maybe even provinces. The knife cuts both ways, aspirational “whiteness” could work for us too.
Very interesting article. Personally, I like gentleman’s fashion and the tradwife phenomenon more than, hip hop and black reggae clothing. It’s better for non-whites to play first class whites than for white elites to play nigger-whiggers. But these are just feelings of likes and dislikes from the culture wars, we need our own white ethnostate.
I’m not trad because trad is a roleplay. There is no way to go back in time, we can only go forwards. The material conditions that precipitated those moments in history have changed. Again, it’s just commodification. Trump is just treating the symptoms and ignoring the disease that caused this. By removing the outwardly anti-white hostility of the system but not addressing it inwardly, he is only making the system more appealing.
During Soviet times, when Estonia was being russified both demographically and culturally, with overwhelming propaganda and life being worse here than abroad, everyone innately understood that they were Estonians, not Soviets. This led to a mental block against everything Russian. Everyone was, in effect, a nationalist. Ultimately, this resulted in the overthrow of the Soviets and the establishment of an ‘independent’ country.
This is no longer the case, as Estonians don’t perceive Western influence as hostile towards them (even though it is much more insidious than Soviet influence ever was). As a result, group identity is weak and mainly exists in older generations. The youth increasingly see themselves as ‘European’ rather than Estonian. As people no longer feel oppressed, their defenses drop. Nobody wants independence anymore; they are content being part of a cosmopolitan empire.

The author’s recognition of the Latin Americanization of Anglo America is a key insight, not merely because many of those coming here originate from there, but more-so since it represents a similar sort of opportunistic human trafficking historically practiced by the Spanish and Portuguese. It is also a dilution of the White founding stock which clearly threatens our self-determination, just as South and East European migration curtailed WASP influence here. But there are political and practical implications to “aspirational whiteness” that should not be overlooked. Politically, it is why the right wing can still remain somewhat competitive in Latin American countries. It is our primary hope of avoiding a South African scenario. In practical terms, a de facto White-dominated caste system like that carried down through Latin societies from the colonial era could do much to maintain a semblance of Western Civilization in North America. While I don’t want Whites to become a minority in their homelands, I think it is fine for a small numbers of pro-white non-whites to assimilate through mixing race. in a few generations, these non-whites will be absorb into the White population and their descendants will look white.

A person who is 90% White and 10% something else will look White. And there are plenty of non-Whites who are great people. The problem is even a little mixing is one of those things that has downstream effects. Five hundred years ago the Spaniards probably didn’t think their colonies would look like they do now, because they weren’t aware of the fact that mixed-race people are more likely to keep doing it. The behavior never stops with that one person.
Just as important— if a White Nationalist has a non-White partner, they make a mockery of the whole idea of White preservation. It becomes impossible to take it seriously. And because of the nature of fringe movements like WN, this will inevitably attract others who are willing to mix because they’re sexually frustrated, mentally ill or because they just like the drama of it all.

White leftists implicitly possess the capacity to defeat the white race by eagerly adopting the “race traitor” persona. In response, pro-white ends up only asserting itself in the most meager of terms, all of which ultimately end up being non-white, as this article covers. In the end there is no white race beyond ephemeral commodities.
That’s why we need White Nationalism.
I agree of course, but it’s hard to see what you do about all the anti-whites. It’s like they are infected with a virus that exists in their brain and even with a white ethnostate this virus will be smuggled in. Arguably that is exactly our recent history.
The best solution would be to get them unplugged from System propaganda. Obviously that’s easier said than done. In the interim, the best approach is positive counterpropaganda. Delegitimizing White guilt is one objective. Another is to get the idea out to the public that being against your own people isn’t fun and cool; rather it’s sick (which it is). That’s a lot of work, but not as difficult as it seems. Most people will “go with the flow” and take their cue from others.
