Péter Magyar’s landslide victory over Viktor Orbán in the April 2026 Hungarian election presents both a problem and solution to the American Right. It indicates that the Republicans will be slaughtered in the 2026 midterms and quite possibly the 2028 presidential election — if things stay the same. But it also shows a path to not just an electoral victory, but a landslide like Magyar’s.
We cannot blindly extrapolate from the Hungarian electorate to the American. Most Americans, especially boomers, are fellaheen and completely checked out of history and politics. Religion is also often a distraction in American politics. Hungary is an ethnically cohesive society with a long historical memory, casual political incorrectness, and gloomy pessimism. But the themes of the Hungarian election are so strong that they will carry over to American politics. Furthermore, an increasing segment of American voters are becoming like Hungarians and other former Warsaw Pact countries in that they are exiting fellahdom, and becoming politically incorrect and pessimistic (or perhaps realistic) about the future.
I want to separate speculation about how Péter Magyar will govern from the relevant lessons that his victory has for American politics. I am one-quarter Hungarian-American and have spent some time in my ancestral lands, but simply lack the insight and instincts of a full-blooded Hungarian born and raised in Hungary. Some are predicting doom and gloom, others that Magyar’s victory is another example of “nothing ever happens,” and others that he may actually be an improvement. What I will predict, however, is that if Péter Magyar substantially keeps his campaign promises that he and his Tisza Party will cement their rule more strongly than even Orbán and Fidesz did. But if he breaks his campaign promises, he will be swept out in a landslide as big as the one that brought him in. In a fellaheen society like America, culture is more downstream from politics, while in a healthy society like Hungary, politics is downstream from culture. Thus even if he wanted to, Magyar couldn’t replace or indoctrinate his people fast enough before the next election.

Thus, of the record-breaking 79.55% of Hungarians who showed up at the polls, why did 54.4% vote for a relatively unknown candidate like Péter Magyar and his cobbled-together Tisza coalition, and not Viktor Orbán, who to borrow a common Fidesz campaign slogan, was “a safe choice”?
First, Orbán, despite being a 16-year incumbent, ran an extremely negative campaign. Until the final weeks of election season, his advertisements targeted Zelensky and Brussels, with even Magyar being an afterthought. Despite having a strong track record on migration, his attacks against Brussels were mostly focused on the Ukraine War, not migration. The general gist was that these people want your money for war.
This shows that J. D. Vance, or whoever thinks they can carry the flame of Trump’s tattered legacy, will also likely fail if they run a negative campaign as an incumbent. They cannot expect to use the Democrats and their gay race communism as a boogeyman to scare voters into accepting the mediocrity and dysfunction of the GOP.
Second, Orbán was perceived correctly or incorrectly as being too friendly with Russia. Thus, thousands of Hungarians chanted “Russians go home!” at Heroes’ Square after the election. It should be noted that they weren’t chanting “love is love,” “let them in,” or other Leftist drivel. While Hungary has historical issues with Ukraine, they are eclipsed several times over by their issues with Russia. Buildings in Budapest still have bullet holes from battles with Russians, and Hungarians have a long historical memory. To a lesser extent, there was also concern about Chinese and Israeli influence.
This shows that nationalist candidates cannot be or appear to be too close to foreign nations. Vance saying he’s proud to have cut funding for Ukraine’s defense is not a good look. A February 2026 YouGov poll found that even among Republicans, 52% sympathize more with Ukraine than Russia, versus 4% who sympathize more with Russia.
In America, however, the number one specter of foreign influence isn’t Russia, but Israel. And the 2026 Iran War has shown that MAGA is actually MIGA. Moreover, Americans are finally developing a historical consciousness and remembering the wrongs done to them by Israel and the Jews much as Hungarians remember the Russian menace. Awareness of the Jewish question is rapidly growing rapidly among the staffers and volunteers necessary for a political campaign. We also dominate online discourse, which has come to shape voters more than TV ads, especially young voters. Thus, the GOP’s and now MAGA’s track record of being Israel First/America Last is a political liability. Among the high-agency American voters who can swing elections, Netanyahu has become as toxic as Putin became in Hungary. Thus, anyone from a would-be “MAGA Dynasty” like Vance, Marco Rubio, or Pete Hegseth is electorally untenable.
Third, Magyar outflanked Orbán on immigration. Much of Orbán’s mystique was driven by Orbán Derangement Syndrome on the Left. Like Trump, Orbán was not as objectively strong on immigration as his subjective image would suggest. Orbán let in a large number of Asiatic migrant guestworkers, many of whom are clustered around factories in the countryside. That these were legal, non-jihadi migrants did not make them more palatable to the rural townsfolk who suddenly had their buses filled with strangers. Magyar campaigned on ending non-European Union guestworkers, while continuing Orbán’s zero tolerance for illegal migration and opposition to the EU Migration Pact. Echoing Trump’s claim that the Haitians were eating pets in Springfield, Magyar said:
When hundreds of Filipino workers were brought here and allocated to these Budapest hostels without money or provisions, then the next day, a lot of ducks had disappeared from the Budapest Zoo. So have the goldfish. Because these people were starving, and that’s what they did.
Regardless of whether Magyar fulfills his promises on migration, his campaign indicates that it would be easy to outflank Trump and his MIGA successors on migration. For example, at a recent TPUSA event (which had low attendance), Vance said:
I am married to the daughter of immigrants from India, and I love my in-laws. They’re great people and have been great contributors to the USA.
You can believe that there’s a lot of H-1B fraud, while also believing people have come to the US who have enriched this country.
Outright terminating the entire H-1B program, and Indian migration in general, would be popular. While formerly friendly, Indian migrants have become increasingly abrasive as their numbers and influence grows. They are repulsive to normal people because of how dirty and alien they are. Hungarians saw small villages swarmed with Asian migrants and wondered if they would be next. Likewise, high-agency Rightists see Texas turning purple in large part due to Governor Abbott’s treasonous love of Indians, which is surpassed only by his love of Jews.
Furthermore, Trump has betrayed his base on deportations. Kamala was unable to distance herself from Biden and his policies, and neither will anybody associated with Trump or MAGA in its current mutated form. Only a fool would think they would be tough on migration when Trump was weak. Thus, outflanking MAGA on migration will be a cakewalk.

Fourth, Magyar ran against Orbán’s alleged corruption. I personally think any corruption was overexaggerated. It was certainly less than what happens on a daily basis in Washington, DC. Orbán was perceived as taking a mile instead of an inch when he probably took three inches, however. But the allegations stuck in part due to the fact that the Hungarian economy is not doing well, although it could also be doing a lot worse.
Trump looks a lot shadier than Orbán. Trump is likely going to be impeached for war crimes and lying about Iran posing an imminent threat. Although if an investigation finds that he ran a classic “pump and dump” cryptocurrency scam with the memecoins $TRUMP and $MELANIA, he could also be in trouble. There is also unverified suspicion that Trump or someone else is using his back-and-forth statements about the Iran War to conduct insider trading, given how they affect the market. While unproven for now, the mere appearance of corruption often has a similar effect to an official finding.
While the American economy is doing objectively better than Hungary’s, it feels subjectively worse for many Americans due to differing expectations. For example, when a girl asked Vance how he would respond to someone who said that the only way to succeed nowadays is to come from a generationally wealthy family (which is a reality for most Zoomers), he fumbled badly, saying “Wow, I didn’t expect that one,” and proceeded to utter bootstrap platitudes (which are personal solutions) rather than proposing concrete public solutions. MIGA’s disinterest in making the economy better for young people will synergize with any perception of corruption.
MAGA — or rather MIGA — has become an irreparably toxic brand. Not only is it possible to outflank them, but failing to attack them is not electorally viable. Alternative for Germany (AfD) seems to have gotten the memo about this. They were previously very warm with Trump and MAGA, but since the outbreak of the 2026 Iran War and Trump’s disparagement of Europe for not joining his ill-advised adventure, the AfD’s leader, Alice Weidel, has said:
Trump is now asking for help for Iran. It suggests they launched this mission without a clear plan. They should have thought this through earlier.
Demanding a mutual assistance obligation from NATO states at this moment would transform NATO from a defensive alliance into an offensive alliance.
Before the outbreak of the Iran War, she also said:
We’ve heard years of loud outrage about Putin violating international law. Now those same critics are strangely quiet when Trump does what they criticized Putin for: violating sovereignty in Venezuela and with Greenland.
Being nationalistic for the country they actually live in and distancing themselves from Trump seems to have helped the AfD, as their poll numbers have continued to rise.
I originally wanted to work with MAGA and within the Republican Party. Now that path has been precluded, even if I still wanted to follow it. Orbán was not that bad, regardless of what some may say. In fact, he was an outstanding leader whom I still admire. Trump, on the other hand, is repulsive.
To summarize, here are the practical do’s and dont’s which can be extracted from the Hungarian election for a candidate to beat both the establishment GOP/MAGA and the Democrats in 2028:
- Be a nationalist for the country you live in: America. Don’t shill for foreign powers, especially Israel. This also includes Russia and China.
- Outflank Trump on immigration by promising to reduce legal immigration, end the H-1B program, and conduct mass deportations with no special exemptions, even for agriculture. Even if there is violent pushback from the Left.
- While criticizing Trump is moral, necessary, and good, run a campaign that is more positive than negative. Offer voters an affirmative vision.
- It’s the economy, stupid. Acknowledge voters’ economic pain, especially that of young ones. Propose concrete solutions to make housing affordable and wages go up, particularly via deportations.
The lessons from Magyar’s victory over Orbán indicates that regardless of whether the Democrats or Republicans win in 2028, MAGA will lose. This is a dire problem, because the Democrats will plunge the country into gay race communism. Although the problem also comes with the solution. I don’t know if Péter Magyar will keep his campaign promises, but I do know that copying his nationalist campaign platform is a path to victory.

All politicians, which want to come to power, would ask foreign countries for support. And these countries would not be relatively small European countries. These will be again Israel, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, and India.
Israel and China interfere the most.
It should be illegal to accept any kind of help from any foreign country. That is the definition of treason. Such treason is demonstrated every day, with most politicians in DC taking money from the Epstein Class. In exchange, they support Israel’s wars of aggression in the Middle East, and funnel vast sums of our money to finance the Israeli war machine. Treason.
So: Péter Magyar = Tisza Party, and Viktor Orbán = Fidesz Party. Now I got it. It seems that Tisza is really more “far right” than Fidesz. I hope so.
This article proves that J. D. Vance is an open borders globalist. If he were a nationalist, he would have declared war on the Trump regime and agitated for “Impeachment Now!“. But he didn’t. Just like the rest of them in both parties, Vance is subservient to the Jews.
He gave a pathetic (but revealing) answer to that girl’s question, “the only way to succeed nowadays is to come from a generationally wealthy family (which is a reality for most Zoomers).”
The right answer is to close the borders to all future immigration. “None is too many” is the winning slogan. Everyone would benefit, except landlords and land developers. But Vance would never do that. He is a Uniparty loyalist and a willing tool of the Deep State. And he is also a war criminal, for supporting the invasion of Iran.
During the negotiations in Islamabad, Vance had to leave the room repeatedly to make phone calls – he even called Netanyahu. His administration’s sheer unpreparedness and frivolousness was evident to everyone attendant. The fact that he had no decision-making power leaves one with the question: why was he even there then and who is running things?
The first attack ad on Vance would be to show his wife’s family who have colonized California Universities. I believe the in-laws are at UCSD or SanDiego State. They are professors there and one or more of them was a radical advocate for DIE.
This is an easy win against Vance. You force him to renounce his family or his countrymen. He can’t straddle the line there. The days of timid politics must end. The amount of easy ammunition is everywhere. Similarly you force him to take a stand on Vivek Nationalism or Blood and Soil Nationalism.
Last week I was in very rural Appalachia. At the Shell station the window of the Shop and Save had the name of an LLC with an Indian surname. At my next stop, my car forced a 15 minute software update. Bored, I decided to dig into the LLC. The Gemini result indicated the LLC is heavily involved in H1-B applications in the state of Kentucky. So, it seems likely there is a massive Appalachian, at least Kentucky wide, H1-B for Shop And Save owners fraud going on.
It gets even worse. Six months ago, I stopped at a diner with the namesake of its Heritage American owner where I stop when I go through that teeny town. All was the same – quaint heritage decor with beautiful Bible verses on country chique mounts. This time I entered and the interior was totally redesigned. All heritage references removed, and toy dispensery slot machines to extract the last penny from the clients. An Indian had taken over. The waitress, a Kentuckian, told me that the old owner closed for unknown reasons and that the neighboring liquor store owner, “Don”, who is Indian had his nephew take over the diner. So they have cuckood Americans out of that location which sits in prime real estate at the stop of multiple state highway roads.
These and countless examples must be pushed onto Vance confrontationally. Strategically, we need a candidate in the wings who will answer affirmatively to renounce this practice of dispossession and fraud and begin mass deportations and cancel all H1-Bs. Who is that candidate for us?
Rubio has weaknesses too. He got played by Israel and is weak.
Bottom line is I think the time is right for fire breathing candidates. The fire breathing should include aggressive rhetoric about the left committing treason. Call out every journalist that laments the arrest of illegal aliens. That is aiding and abetting felonies and advocating for the dissolution of our borders, our sovereignty and our beloved democracy. There is a lot of dry material to light up in flames. The focus groups aren’t ready, but the historic American nation is going to erupt in support for a fire breathing candidate whose centerpiece is immigration moratorium, mass remigration, NGO defunding and prosecution, charges and prosecution for sanctuary city and immigration law nullification … …
The issue is if we have anyone at the national level at the doorstep to compete with Vance, Vivek, Rubio … …
Sorry for the ramble. Is Casey Putsch up to the task? We have 1+ years to identify new blood to get into the fray and mount a primary challenge.
It would be useful if we have enough investigative journalists to uncover Indian fraud as well as fraud from other non-whites.
Great article! That was a welcome zephyr of optimism. 🙃
There’s really no electoral momentum for nationalism in the US. The MAGA phenomenon is just a cult of personality around Trump, not an ideological movement. I don’t see how this thing moves on from Trump.
My concern is that it will take years to wash the stench of Trump off of nationalism. Many now hear the word nationalist and automatically associate it with Trump’s ridiculous appearance and retarded rambling in the same way that the word feminist automatically conjures up the image of an obese, blue-haired shrew. The slogan MAGA, brilliant marketing in its simplicity and evocative power, has already been reduced to impotence as Trump tells us that it really means whatever Mark Levin says.
What’s most unfortunate is that Trump is damaging nationalism not only in the US, but globally. Orban lost in part due to guilt by association with Trump. Canada remains locked into liberalism because Trump’s utterly pointless bloviating mobilized the electorate there behind otherwise unpopular liberals. Denmark’s anti immigration government just had a poor electoral performance, thanks in large part to Trump’s Greenland LARP. If Israel and Trump’s war on Iran continues, it will destroy the global economy and ruin all incumbent nationalist leaders. I’m really not seeing any room for optimism as long as Trump is around, particularly as his decline into dementia becomes increasingly obvious and dangerous.
If Israel and Trump’s war on Iran continues, it will destroy the global economy and ruin all incumbent nationalist leaders. Warren Balogh made a similar point on his podcast discussing rahm emmanuel and goyshill jake sullivan on bill maher’s panel last week and both said they supported the defunding of military aid to israel. Does this mean the leaders of world jewry have convened and given tel aviv an ultimatum that if you keep pushing this war to obliterate Iran, wreck their infrastructure, then they will retaliate and plunge the planet into a global depression worse than 1929. You will get a daily kristallnacht for real in amerika if the happens.
Thanks for the interesting article. Just as after reading Greg’s article – wich points in a similar direction – the situation in Hungary no longer seems as bleak and hopeless to me as it did after the first news of the election results arrived.
