First they came for elves, and I remained silent because I never met an elf. Then they came for Gods, and I remained silent because I never felt their presence. Then they came for ghosts, and I remained silent because I never saw a ghost. Then they came for consciousness, and I did not exist.

Air Defense Ain’t What It Used To Be
It is not easy to know what make of this lead paragraph from a piece at Breitbart London: “Two RAF (Royal Air Force) logistics jets were damaged at one of Britain’s most theoretically secure airfields… by Palestine Action activists who were able to escape undetected.” (more…)

Most viruses, like sharks or wolves, strike the weak and those with co-morbidities first and hardest, particularly the immuno-compromised. The Covid-19 virus was true to type in that respect. After a long break, I am continuing the series I started in 2020, interviewing our website’s favorite writers. Kathryn S. is a unique writer of very long and elaborate texts that will be especially appreciated by sophisticated readers.
This author writes mostly about history, battles, feasts, ballet, fairy tales, art, romanticism, orientalism, and poetry. And even though she has taken a short break from writing, I am already looking forward to her next articles. (more…)

I think fame is to be avoided. And I’ve done pretty well at that.
