Night of the Living Dead

2,807 words

One of the smartest moves I ever made was becoming a “cord cutter.” Aside from the financial benefit, it has served to liberate my mind from the clutter of contemporary pop culture and media propaganda. Nevertheless, I occasionally indulge in streaming old movies, classics, whenever I can find them. Read more …

Tired of Boycotts?
Try This One Neat Trick

2,373 words

Sometimes a ray of sunshine peeks through otherwise dark and gloomy clouds in the midst of a volatile storm, such as the torrential political post-Floyd world. I experienced such a moment of illumination today in the most unlikely of places, my local corporate grocery store. Well, technically, it was while I was on the phone Read more …

The Little Things

Norman Rockwell, Freedom from Want, 1943.

1,995 words

I think it is safe to assume that most Counter-Currents readers are familiar with the phrase “death by 1000 cuts,” which is an expression translated into English from the protracted Chinese torture process known as lingchi. In political-speak, its close cousin is the analogy of the slow boiling frog. Dissidents on our side of the great divide have an intuitive understanding that we’ve come to our current impasse through subtle but profound changes in policy and attitudes that our political enemies call “progress.” Read more …

Chinese Handcuffs

922 words

Imagine, if you will, the perfect system of torture and restraint. A device so effective that the more forcefully you resist it, the tighter it grips you, and the more hopeless your chance of escape. Such a contraption does in fact exist. You might recognize it as the anodyne but frustrating toy called “Chinese handcuffs.” Read more …

Tucker Carlson & Blake Neff

1,236 words

Over the weekend, there was a bit of a buzz around the announced “resignation” of Blake Neff, who worked for Tucker Carlson on Fox News as his head writer. A statement put out by Fox’s management suggested that Carlson would address the issue on Monday. Evidently, Carlson’s writer, Neff, had committed the Orwellian thought crime of “shitposting” on the internet under a pseudonym and had been outed by CNN’s Oliver Darcy. Read more …

A Long Time Coming

1,067 words

Much has been said in recent months about the cult of radical Leftism donning a veil of religious zealotry over the George Floyd death and Black Lives Matter protests. In truth, America’s excessively libertine, egalitarian idealism has always been a twisted morality play that relentlessly seeks to destroy the strong and healthy in favor of the Read more …

“McBoomers”

991 words

I am a creature of habit. One of my daily morning rituals, after snoozing my alarm at least twice, is to check my phone for the morning headlines and to have a look at trending topics on Twitter. The viral meme du jour this Monday morning was that of “Ken and Karen McBoomer,” Read more …

Try, Try, Try Again

1,482 words

On the 15th of September, 1938, UK Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain famously flew across the English Channel (overcoming his fear of flying) for the monumental purpose of meeting Adolf Hitler at the Berghof in order to avert the Sudetenland crisis, and hopefully (yet futilely) avoid plunging Europe into a Second World War. Upon his departure, he gave an impromptu speech to the British press in which he offered his favorite childhood self-motivating pep talk, Read more …

The Language of Winners

1,322 words

Words matter. Language matters. The lucid, sober expression of ideas through the paired lenses of science and reason matters. Unfortunately, to the detriment of white people in Western countries, there is a Left-wing monopoly on scientific and political language that has ostracized Right-wing dissidents. Read more …

Who’s Your Daddy, America?

Norman Rockwell, Settling an Argument, 1922.

899 words

It is time to face the ultimate truth. It is time to swallow the last red pill. It is time to look in the mirror and point the finger at our reflection.

America’s problem is that we are a nation without fathers, without men. We are a nation of children raised by children. Preoccupied with toys and trinkets, shiny playthings that divert our attention, we shirk responsibility and cry when we don’t get our way. Read more …

That Joke Isn’t Funny Anymore

1,436 words

This morning I woke up to the news of another casualty in the culture war. A dusty, 20-year-old skit of late-night comedian and SNL alum Jimmy Fallon donning brown makeup and a wig to mimic African racial features, in a Chris Rock impersonation, went viral. And just like clockwork, Fallon is on Twitter performing the self-flagellation ritual that is demanded of him by the anti-racism SanhedrinRead more …

Bonds of Brotherhood

Caspar David Friedrich, Two Men Contemplating the Moon, 1825.

Modernity is alienating, particularly for men. We all experience this feeling. Even those of us fortunate enough to have reasonably healthy social lives often find ourselves isolated, unable to completely trust people who we believe to be our friends. Read more …

Unlikely Heroes:
America’s History of Valiant Outlaws

FBI sketch of D. B. Cooper

1,495 words

Most Americans’ lives, from cradle to grave, are spent immersed in clichés about “American values.” We are force-fed egalitarian propaganda and glutted with hyperbolic mythologies about historical people, places, and events. Few ever question the All-American operating system that their hard drives are programmed with, and fewer still find the courage to “buck the system.” Read more …
