It is often said that those who forget their history are doomed to repeat it. As crazy as the looting, violence, and capitulation has been this week, I get the feeling that history is currently repeating itself now. Watching the videos of non-whites assaulting random white people reminds me of the horrors of the Haitian Massacre of 1804. (more…)

On this day in 1977, a band from Salford, England called Warsaw took to the stage for the very first time in their career. They were supporting the Buzzcocks at the Electric Circus concert in Manchester.

One fascinating conundrum I have been dealing with for years juxtaposes Istanbul/Constantinople the city with “Istanbul (Not Constantinople)” the song. Conservative blogger Kim du Toit had a revealing post earlier this month entitled “Blacktops.” In his words:
Anyone who’s ever worked in the restaurant business will know exactly what the title of this post means. Basically, it’s a denigrating [sic] term that waiters (of all races, by the way) use as shorthand to describe a table of Black customers. What “blacktop” means is that the servers are highly unlikely to get a tip from that seating. Black people don’t tip. (more…)

Americans do not have a white racial consciousness because we never needed one. We no longer have a choice. It was simply understood that the United States were founded by white men exclusively for their posterity. America was never an idea, or merely a geographic entity, for our forefathers.

Writing something on the Baltimore riots would simply be repeating myself, so rather than doing that, I decided to literally repeat two earlier pieces into a microphone, creating two audio essays that are apropos of the events in Baltimore. Please spread them far and wide. (more…)
