Waco: The Aftermath, which follows 2018’s miniseries Waco and was made by the same production team, is a historical-fiction miniseries that examines the cultural impact of the FBI’s calamitous 51-day siege of the Branch Davidian “compound” in Waco, Texas which ended with a raid on April 19, 1993 in which 76 civilians were killed. The miniseries has three plotlines. The first centers on the criminal trial involving Branch Davidian Clive Doyle (John Hoogenakker) and his lawyer Dan Cogdell (Giovanni Ribisi), as well as co-defendants Ruth Riddle (Kali Rocha), Livingstone Fagan (Michael Luwoye), and Paul Fatta (Nicholas Kolev). America was beginning to enter the European theater in earnest.  But it was a great one for German cinema due to the release of Munchhausen . Based on the exploits of Baron von Munchhausen, one of the literary world’s most famous yarn-spinners, it was a very high-prestige production made in full color, directed by Josef von Baky and starring Hans Albers as the Baron. Every few months or so, a mainstream news outlet rolls out another puff piece on “national conservatism,” Curtis Yarvin and Neoreaction, the “Dimes Square” scene, or the so-called “Intellectual Dark Web” (IDW). These subcultures have little in common apart from the fact that they are all vaguely Right-wing movements that evade the topic of race — and the media are keen to platform alternative political subcultures that do not address demographic displacement. Last year, Vanity Fair published a lengthy article on America’s “New Right” that discussed a range of Dissident Right figures and trends, but did not make a single mention of Counter-Currents or White Nationalism. Richard Wagner was born on May 22, 1813 in Leipzig in the Kingdom of Saxony. He died on February 13, 1883 in Venice. As an artist, intellectual, author, and cultural force, Wagner has left an immense metapolitical legacy, which is being evaluated and appropriated in the North American New Right. I wish to draw your attention to the following writings which have been published at Counter-Currents.

Today is the tenth anniversary of Dominique Venner’s dramatic suicide at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris, which he carried out as a protest against the degradation of the traditional family’s central importance as well as the demographic replacement of European man, and to indicate what we must be prepared to give to save our people: everything. On that day, Counter-Currents published English translations of Venner’s last post to his website, “The May 26 Protests and Heidegger,” as well as his suicide note, “The Reasons for a Voluntary Death.” (more…)
