I finally saw this year’s Oscar winner for Best Picture, Everything Everywhere All at Once, by directing duo Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, and enjoyed the film. Like many of you , I think it’s a shame Tár didn’t win, and note that The Banshees of Inisherin also didn’t win — but I think many of you are glad about that. Nevertheless, Everything Everywhere All at Once hits all the bases for this year’s woke base — but it’s also a fun movie, very fast-paced and a visual delight. (more…)

The good is one thing, and the sensuously pleasant, another. The wise choose the good. The foolish, being motivated by greed and avarice, choose the pleasant. — The Upanishads
Women are attracted to psychopaths — of the factor 1 kind, anyway. In one study, researchers showed women videos of men on a date. The more psychopathic the man was, the more women liked him, on average. The women also said the psychopathic men looked better in still photos, proving they perceived the men as having better looks. On December 5, a group of lesbian and feminist activists held a silent protest outside the county courthouse in Oakland, California. They wore sashes identifying themselves as “Woman Adult Human Female” and carried a large banner which read “No Men in Women’s Prisons.” They were protesting the possible transfer of convicted murderer Dana Rivers — a man who identifies as a woman — into a women’s prison. Black Wendy’s Employee Kills Elderly White Man with One Punch
We should all pity poor Antoine Kendrick of Prescott Valley, Arizona. For starters, he was born black, and no amount of bleaching and scrubbing can change that. Because of the institutionally racist school-to-fast-food-to-prison pipeline, Po’ Antoine was also trapped in a dead-end job as a Wendy’s cashier at the age of 35. (more…)
