Salut! Salut! Salut! We had heard enough greetings, so we got out of the car in the village of Dömös and changed into military clothes. We were given sports shirts by Légió Hungária (LH) and quickly fell in with their group.
They set a fast pace walking uphill. We had been looking forward to it all the way in the car, and so, despite the difficulties — I hadn’t slept that night, my friend was coming off a 12-hour night shift, and another friend had been driving for several hours — we set off after them with a strong sense of motivation. Rammstein was formed in 1994 in Berlin by six men who were originally from East Germany. Their name came from the 1988 Ramstein air show disaster. They created a new musical genre called Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hard Rock), which was basically a combination of hard rock with elements of techno. (more…)

Robert N. Taylor was born in 1945 and grew up in a working-class neighborhood on the south side of Chicago. As a member of both the psychedelic underground as well as the anti-Communist paramilitary organization The Minutemen, Taylor participated directly in the violent social upheavals of the 1960s. In 1969 he started the music group Changes with his cousin, Nicholas Tesluk. After its revival in 1996, the group would go on to become a seminal part of the American apocalyptic folk genre. (more…)

Today I would like to introduce the very popular fourth full-length album from the band M8l8th, Reconquista. The band itself has gone through three phases in their development, even though they have always played — and still play — true National Socialist Black Metal (NSBM). The first phase ran from 2003 to 2014, when the singer was arrested for racially-motivated assault (he claims it was self-defense) and subsequently convicted. (more…)

Nigel Brown spent over 30 years in the skinhead subculture. He played in the Rock Against Communism (RAC) scene starting in 1985: No Remorse, White Lightning, Broadsword, Retaliator, Celtic Warrior, and others. No Remorse, Fortress, and Celtic Warrior in particular were among the most famous skinhead bands of their day. Now Nigel is concentrating on his solo project.
Nigel is a very nice and intelligent guy. He recently moved from Australia to Berlin, where he lives with his girlfriend. I believe we will hear more about him and his music. (more…)
