My 2025

Morris van de Camp

3,325 words

This year, my favorite dog passed away. He’d joined my family as an underweight stray picked up from the county animal shelter. He quickly integrated into the “pack” and was friendly and loyal throughout his life. The day after he died, I wrote a long article about him and what he meant to me. I’ve decided not to share it; only briefly reflect upon what important work I did during the time I lived with that wonderful dog in this article.

I got the dog around the time I started writing for Counter-Currents, back with the Alt-Right was “a thing.” At the time, there was a sense of hopelessness to it all, and I doubt I had that many readers. Today, I have a sense that I’m being read. I’ve watched the reaction of right-leaning Jews to the Nick Fuentes – Tucker interview on various internet podcasts. They felt “scapegoated,” but then pointed out that deindustrialization, fentanyl, and immigration are, in fact, problems. All these subjects are things myself and others have brought up on this website. Are they reading Counter-Currents to get the pulse of the genuine Right? More hostile actors, such as an internet 15-minutes-of-fame brownskin named Wajahat Ali, have used terms like ‘the Rust Belt women.’ I have certainly written about the Rust Belt. Am I seeing my ideas spread through the information ecosystem?

I am extremely pleased by the deportations and mass immigrant arrest operations like Charlotte’s Web and Swamp Sweep. I noticed that there was a batch of South Koreans deported by the DHS, and the removals took place after I recommended such in my 2024 article, Walk Away from South Korea. I have no idea if anyone who makes policy at the DHS read that article or not, but I’m glad for all that’s happened. These deportations are battles and we are winning. There is the worry that this could be a temporary victory, but when the Mongols turned back from their invasion of Europe in 1241, it was for good. So, did I spend the time that I had with my favorite dog wisely? I think so.

Notable Books

I read a number of really interesting books that aren’t right for a long review, but they can be mentioned here. The first was American Cosmic: UFOs, Religion, Technology (2019) by Diana Walsh Pasulka. This is the most fascinating book I have read all year, and it looks at the UFO Phenomenon from a religious point of view. The most interesting insight within is the concept of a book encounter. This is when a person has an experience that is not initially understood, but then that person reads or hears something that explains what happened. A book encounter represents a shift in worldview and a new, enlightened understanding.

A personally significant book encounter was when I read literature on race and IQ. It explained so much of what I saw regarding racial problems while in the military. One of the men who successfully demonstrated the IQ gap between whites and sub-Saharan blacks is Charles Murray. He and the late Richard Herrnstein wrote The Bell Curve in 1994. The race and IQ concept in in The Bell Curve has been expressed and re-expressed in various ways. The race and IQ issue is a footnote in Peter Brimelow’s excellent book Alien Nation (1996) and a regular feature on American Renaissance. Murray published a fascinating book in 2025 that I read called Taking Religion Seriously. Murray is from Iowa and attends a Quaker Meeting in Maryland. Indeed, when Quakers decide on a thing, the rest of America goes along with their decision. The racial IQ gap seems to be fully understood these days.

I continued to read theological books this year. The I read a biography about an early Protestant Reformer named Huldrych Zwingli. He started his ministry as a military chaplain in the Swiss Army, but to call his outfit the Swiss Army is a misnomer. At the time, the men of the Swiss Army were mercenary soldiers who worked for whatever Italian city-state or French king was paying. Zwingli became radicalized by the sacrifice of his valiant countrymen fighting for the interests of foreign powers. I found Zwingli a kindred spirit.

One concept in the Zwingli biography that I found striking was the statement to the effect that should The Lord tarry in giving a man the insight into correcting his personal follies on his own, then that man will eventually be judged by others. Another theologian, Cornelius van Til, wrote words to the effect that if you have a gift, that gift becomes your task. Use one’s natural talents to the fullest. Van Til also pointed out that nobody is really neutral.

I also read two books by the Christian Identity minister Howard B. Rand (1889 – 1991). The first was called The Digest of the Divine Law (1943). The next book, A Study in Isaiah, was published after his death in 1996. Both books were collections of articles written as the “civil rights” movement was ongoing in the 1940s to the 1960s. Rand didn’t say much about “civil rights,” however. Most of Rand’s focus was on financial policy from a Biblical and Christian Identity perspective. To sum it up, he supported ending the gold standard.

Rand was probably influenced by literature from the old Greenback Party which advocated for a fiat currency in 1877. The Greenback Party’s ideas continued after the party itself collapsed, being spread by men like William Jennings Bryan. Richard Nixon took the United States off the gold standard in 1971. Rand was supportive. Nonetheless, he missed pointing out the major problem of the time – integration and “civil rights”, at least in the two books of his I read.

What were the motivations of the “civil rights” true believers?

Why “civil rights” happened is a question I have looked into but not yet found an answer. It is easy to understand why sub-Saharan blacks wanted “civil rights.” The real question is why did whites support this? I did some research this year and found that the white supporters of “civil rights” come from a generational cohort, but not from a generational cohort described in the Strauss–Howe generational theory. The “civil rights” true believers who were white were born plus or minus eight years from 1900. This cohort crosses two Straus and Howe generational types, the youngest of the “Lost Generation” and the oldest of the “GI Generation.”

The pundits who blame the “Boomers” for promising utopia and delivering weeds are wrong. The oldest of the “Boomers” were too young to vote when the 1964 Civil Rights Act was passed. In fact, the school desegregation experiment was forced on them, they didn’t force it on others.

Reasons for my hunch as to why those born between 1892-1908 became the white “civil rights” true believers are the following:

  1. Those born between 1892 (Reinhold Niebuhr) and 1908 (Lyndon Baines Johnson) grew up in a society where racial problems were completely managed by an adults who were made up of Civil War veterans who didn’t see the cause of the abolitionists in a positive light, and a younger group who experienced Reconstruction as children so they saw the futility of black uplift schemes firsthand.
  2. The true believer cohort did not see black caused problems but did see things like lynching, which they disliked. They believed they could do better. Clark Howell Foreman (1902 – 1971) was an Old-Stock Southerner who became a “civil rights” true believer after witnessing a lynching.
  3. Progressivism worked. However, it only worked because the Progressives were Heritage Americans who were motivated to socially uplift of their particular ethic group. That secret ingredient didn’t get passed on to those born around 1900. The younger progressives saw one success after another and then figured, why not work on the “race problem.” To explain it differently, progressivism started as a program to protect whites from newly freed sub-Saharan blacks; it expanded to dam building programs, health codes, and fire regulations. When progressives went in the other direction, from fire codes to racial uplift, the Progressive Movement collapsed.
  4. The Fundamentalist movement within Protestantism. In 1910, a businessman and Union Army veteran named Lyman Stewart sponsored a series of theological tracts called The Fundamentals. These tracts proved to be highly influential. One of the Fundamentalist ideas was a rejection of Darwinism in favor of the view that Adam and Eve in Genisis were the parents of all According to the Fundamentalists, the Adam and Eve story was not a semi-mythological telling of the jump from hunter gathering to agriculture which was made by an exclusive group who became the Western Eurasian whites. Theology matters – because of this interpretation of Genesis, Fundamentalists came to reject the science of racial reality that helped underpin immigration restrictions and segregation.

As this article goes to print, the “civil rights” order might be coming apart. If that is the case, a great book to read as to why such a thing is happening is Radical Son (1998) by the late David Horowitz. In the book, Horowitz describes how he, a liberal Jew, became disillusioned with “civil rights.” He shows how he shed his pro-leftist views when working with the Black Panthers. Horowitz’s journey matches the pattern I’ve noticed regarding the progression of “civil rights.” The laws and programs that both ended segregation and politically organized sub-Saharan blacks were not resisted by whites until the mid-1950s. It was only after exposure to the pathologies of post-“civil rights” blacks when genuine white resistance materialized. Prior to the 1950s, “civil rights” made unresisted gains. Horowitz supported “civil rights”—until he didn’t.

How the “civil rights” order came about and then started to fall apart is a book that needs to be written. Another book that needs to be written is about the Fort Smith Sedition Trial of 1988. This was an act of lawfare against several white advocates that ended in acquittal. This trial is low hanging doctoral thesis fruit.

Watching Failure

How things fail has always been an interest of mine. This year I watched a business professional’s career collapse. The implosion occurred at the beginning of the year, during the first week of January. This failed business professional and I had a minor connection collaborating on a solution for an ill-defined and abstract problem that was but one of several items I work on day-to-day, so I didn’t fully know the fellow. I did watch his professional end, however, which is when the subject of this passage went on a rant, accusing people of lying who were not lying, among other outrages during a meeting. Midway through the rant his employer looked over at him and pointed out that he obviously didn’t understand the situation and his rant was uncalled for. I realized it was over for him then and there. Sure enough, he was forced to resign a few weeks later.

So, what happened? I can give a broad summation of his failings. Before doing that, here are the basic reasons to fire someone. The reasons to do so are mutiny, misconduct, and failure to master the job. Then there are people you shouldn’t hire. I call them Ripley’s androids. In the Alien movie universe, the androids are usually trouble for Ripley, the protagonist, but they aren’t always trouble. It is best not to hire a person from such a category even though occasionally a Ripley’s android might work out.

All blacks are Ripley’s androids in any job that requires the level of abstract thinking abilities needed to carry out a map reading and land navigation problem taught in the military called intersection and resection. The credentials, time in the job, experience, etc. a black might have are all mirages. The particular person in this passage was a black with plenty of credentials, but he couldn’t connect the dots. IQ matters. Simply put, an obese runner cannot win a marathon. Such a person can do something notable like win a marathon in the 300 lbs. category, but he will not win the race in an absolute sense.

There were several other notable failures that I discovered by poking around after the forced resignation. They were:

  1. He directed his organization to carry out a project which had no customers. He’d misinterpreted instructions and was unable to discover his error before it became widely known. Indeed, should The Lord tarry…
  2. He failed to fire a person who couldn’t master the job when the firing could have been done during a reorganization so that there would be limited embarrassment and aggravation.
  3. As the pressures on him increased he reverted to “ghetto” mode – making threats to others. The lessons learned from one’s childhood matters, the fellows who were in the Boy Scouts and went to Sunday School have a big advantage over the fellows raised in a black cultural environment. The whites can reach back to the wise advice of the Scoutmaster, minister, teacher, or parent. That experience really helps.

I’ll add here that one cannot do half-measures when dealing with a professionally collapsing person. One cannot say fighting words, or insults that cannot be withdrawn and then shift back to a professional working relationship. You really need to back ‘em or sack ‘em. If it is time to part ways, do so quickly and professionally and don’t look back.

The End of the Jewish Question?

The day after Pickett’s Charge, the soldiers of the Army of the Potomac stayed behind their breastworks. They expected another Confederate attack. The Confederates, however, didn’t attack; they retreated. The Union men hadn’t realized they’d won the battle. I wonder if the same thing has happened regarding the battle between American whites and the organized Jewish community recently. We won several years ago and only now is that fact becoming clear.

Jewish activists captured the levers of power in the United States between 1913 and 1933. Peak Jewish power was probably in the late 1990s, when the US State Department and a platoon of US Congressmen strong armed several Swiss banks for money alleged to have been owned by “Holocaust victims.”  The years of the 1990s also hosted a group of over-the-top Holocaust movies and the widespread view that the World War II generation was the “Greatest Generation” for “fighting Hitler” and the Nazis. The Religion of Hitler had many followers in the 1990s.

Whan an institution appears to be at its height, it is often the case that the institution’s very foundations have cracked, and a collapse is on the way. The Organized Jewish Community was beaten in America between 2006 and 2019. The first defeat for them came with the 2006 Iraq Study Group. That committee blamed the Iraq War on the (mostly Jewish) neoconservatives and pointed out the problems caused by America’s support for the modern so-called state of Israel. During the first impeachment of Donald Trump in 2019, it was widely understood that the affair was a “Jew Coup,” and the accusations and proceedings were unjust.

Victory didn’t require throwing anyone in an oven or wading through blood. It only required talking, publishing, and building institutions of our own. An example of victory can be seen in The David Frum Show aired on Nov 19, 2025. In that show, the Jewish Neoconservative David Frum had a long discussion with Margaret MacMillan, a British Establishment figure who is descended from Lloyd George, the Prime Minister of Great Britain during World War I. The discussion is well worth listening to.

The two in the show represent the very forces that got America into the two World Wars. After the end of the Cold War, Anglo-Saxon internationalists (like MacMillan) and Jewish neoconservatives (like Frum) stampeded through the halls of power with pet nation-building projects, African feeding efforts, and other schemes. They all went badly. But in this episode of The David Frum Show, the hubris had been replaced by wisdom. Frum pointed out that President Trump had taken a bribe from the Swiss – a gold bar stamped 45/47. After getting that bribe, he lowered the tariffs on Switzerland to 15%. MacMillan discussed US America’s relationship with Venezuela and the problems within American domination of foreign areas.

The bribe from the Swiss is sordid. Politics is always so, but now we have a 15% tariff against a high-end manufacturing competitor. That means that there is someone in the United States, working in the Rust Belt who has a 15% chance that didn’t exist before. Go out and take that chance. With the Jewish Question possibly answered, the thing to do is aspire to greatness. Prevent the next forest fire in Los Angeles, develop a new industry, build a wonder. The’ll be pitfalls along the way. Brush off insults, get up when knocked down, pay the minimum payment and carry on with the debt load if necessary. Continue the path to a higher level.

Should you be a young man, join the Department of Homeland Security and get the deportations done. One thing, in fighting monsters don’t become one yourself. Don’t post abusive pictures of a Central American woman caught up in a sweep against a greedy employer on the internet. Just move them out. As far as the more dangerous sorts, Afghani, Somali, etc., be safe, keep the public safe, and follow procedures.

Problems Abroad

Everyone needs to be aware of the JQ, but it is possible the JQ is now a foreign dilemma. There is another issue on the horizon and that is the BRICS financial system. This is a financial system that is specifically anti-American. How it works needs to be completely understood and strategies to counter it must be developed. The Farm Crisis of the 1980s was partially caused when American bankers loaned money to farms in Brazil while starving farmers in Nebraska of capital.

There are also the Russian, Chinese, and Islamic problems. Countering these problems requires more effort in Europe to keep the Russians and Muslims out while giving less to Asia which will allow the Koreans, Manchurians, and Chinese to make poor, self-destructive choices. Don’t stop an enemy who is making a mistake.

Two outstanding books I read this year on Russia, or more accurately,  the Soviet Union, are Stalin’s War (2021) and Collapse: The Fall of the Soviet Union (2021). The former book covers Russia in its superpower USSR form; the latter covers the USSR’s 1980s collapse. The USSR collapsed in no small part due to the poor choices of Mikhail Gorbachev, the Soviet Union’s final leader. After he assumed office, Gorbachev recognized the rot in the system and reached back for ideas on how to fix the problems to Leninism, which is a false and flawed theology – a house built upon sand. He also failed to manage the nationalist forces in the Soviet Union which had been unleashed by metapolitical campaigns in Lithuania and elsewhere. Stalin’s War demonstrates one truth I wish I’d known earlier. The Russians understand us, but we don’t understand them. Stalin’s agents had many Americans completely under the Soviet Union’s spell, it wasn’t just Jews going along with him either.

Things Went Well

On the whole, I am pleased with how things went this year. This time last year I had a pile of troubles. I had several sleepless nights thinking over how to deal with them, and in the morning, I went ahead and fought to end them successfully. My biggest setbacks this year were distractions from the work I wanted to do, but they were pleasant distractions, nonetheless. Next year I hope to continue the positive trend, especially in writing.

I’m glad your year went well. I always look forward to your historical articles and book reviews, and have learned many new things from them over the last few years.

I graduated high school in the midst of the 2020 riots, which played a big role in waking me up to racial realities. There is a substantial group of White men my age who were radicalized by the riots, the COVID-19 lockdowns, and the open borders of the Biden administration. I hope that in the coming decades my generation will produce brave and intelligent leaders who can face important truths head-on.

I don’t have the time to do the level of research needed. A rising historian might be able to get it done, however.

The Fort Smith sedition trial was a 1988 trial of fourteen white supremacists accused of plotting to overthrow the United States federal government and conspiring to assassinate federal officials. The fourteen defendants were acquitted after a two-month trial. One of the jurors later married one of the defendants, while another said they agreed with many of their views.[

“Stalin’s agents had many Americans completely under the Soviet Union’s spell, it wasn’t just Jews going along with him either.”

Stalin’s War indicates that upwards of 319 American officials were on Stalin’s Payroll, most of them at the State Department, the US Army and the Departments of Agriculture and Treasury.

This year, my favorite dog passed away.

That’s really bad. I understand, because in this year my cat died. He was 18,5 years old.
