As I argue in my piece, “The End of American Democracy,” multiparty democracy depends on the willingness of different factions to trade political power. In effect, one has to be willing to hand a loaded gun to one’s political opponents every few years. Obviously, though, you would not do that if you thought you would be immediately shot with it. Every movie should be a work of love, but astonishingly few are. A notable exception is Wildcat, the 2023 biopic about Flannery O’Connor, directed by Ethan Hawke from a script that he coauthored with Shelby Gaines. Wildcat is something of a family affair, for it stars Ethan Hawke’s daughter Maya as Flannery O’Connor herself. Maya’s brother Levon Hawke also has a bit part. (Their mother is Uma Thurman. Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman starred together in the stupid anti-eugenics flick Gattaca, which fortunately did not deter them from their own successful eugenic experiments.) (more…)

International Blancophobia Month (ie. every month)
With the trial of Axel Rudakubana taking center-stage this month, only one thing was certain: the government would use the distraction to smuggle through as much anti-white legislation as it could fit on the statute books. For that is what it is.
The British have been so deeply indoctrinated into believing that the promotion of one’s own white ethnicity is the lowest circle of racism that they still can’t face the monster. (more…)

Ce que l’Intelligence artificielle ne peut pas faire

While scientists and economists are often prepared and willing to debate the “dangers” of specific potential AI developments, they are less disposed to debate the ultimate purpose of AI or whether AI has an ultimate purpose at all. (more…)

Almost five years have passed since George Floyd achieved a unique American style of sainthood, the canonization process of which, to give it a parodic Hegelian twist, could be said to be the antithesis to the one the Roman Catholic Church uses to establish its saints. (more…)

If it’s always sunny in Philadelphia, then why did it rain there on my gay wedding? Regardless, even a spring thunderstorm couldn’t wash away the joy of that outdoor event. Whatever the clouds above were doing I was on cloud nine, and it seemed that everyone from the wedding attendees to the city employees who later gave me my official marriage certificate was as happy for me as I was. If you play a game of Russian Roulette, there’s a one in six chance it’ll be your last. Now if I were to try and sell it to you by saying, “There’s a five in six chance you’ll make it out alive,” does that change the nature of the game? Of course not. It doesn’t matter if not all the outcomes end badly because it only takes your luck going south once for it to be your last breath. (more…)

(more…)

Homo Erectus reconstruction. Neanderthal Museum
It’s always encouraging when scientific discoveries confirm what people have always known. This is especially the case today when observation and common sense is suppressed and science confirms it anyway—which can be a revolutionary act. In the past 15 years, geneticists have been struggling with the idea of early human “introgression” with archaic hominid populations. (more…)

President Donald Trump’s ascendency to the throne of the most powerful country on the planet went off with nary a hitch. The seemingly unending peaceful transition of power finally culminated in official inaugural proceedings amid freezing temperatures in Washington, DC. Observers and citizens alike were quite rightly trepidatious about what would happen in the days leading up to January 20th as well as the day proper. (more…)

The left is entering a time of realignment. Donald Trump’s landslide victory over Kamala Harris is a major alarm call that something is wrong with the formula progressive elites have used to reliably sell their package to voters for decades. And it’s not just the US. Throughout the Western world, there is a rising tide of populism. (more…)
