1. This Saturday’s Counter-Currents Radio Fundraiser Telethon

On Saturday, November 30th, please take a break from Christmas shopping to tune in to a very special Counter-Currents Radio livestream. When I was a child in the early 2000s, my elementary school would do a food drive each year, usually around the holiday season. Students in our class would bring non-perishable food items to school and place them in a large cardboard box in our classroom. After a couple of weeks, the item our school had received from students would be donated to a local food bank, a charitable organization which offers free food to those in need. (more…)

War with the Powhatans

As the English presence in the Chesapeake Bay region increased, tensions with the Indians worsened. From the point of view of the English Virginians – the primary Indian enemy was the Powatan Tribe. The Powhatans were not a single tribe, instead the “tribe” was several Algonquin tribes united in a confederacy by Powhatan and his brothers. Tribes joined or left the confederacy through the first half of the seventeenth century. (more…)
