Despite the sickly-sweet rainbow-colored lollipops they’ve been trying to sell us for generations now, racial violence will be a factor in any multiracial society — especially when that multiracial society endlessly posits these groups as warring tribes with unsettled historical grievances. Words change their meaning, certainly, but they also lose meaning through overuse. Our most obvious contemporary example is the word “racism.”

Racism is a perfectly natural response to the “Other” the hard ideological Left like to parade around like a show pony. It is hardwired into us and is a protective reaction, it being an evolutionary advantage to be with those like yourself, and is why from canteens in high school to canteens in penitentiaries, blacks will always sit with other blacks and whites with other whites. After stumbling upon the Aryan Recognition Tool (ART) — a dodgy artificial intelligence program designed to determine whether you’re a latent genocidal maniac based on your appearance — I decided, despite my better judgement, to give it a whirl. I allowed the website temporary access to my webcam, after which it snapped a photo and determined that, based on my facial features, I am 22% Aryan. I was very disappointed. (more…)

The first day of August is one of the four cross-quarter solar holidays. It’s known as either Lammas or Lughnasadh, depending on whether you’re of the Saxon or the Celtic persuasion. (If “Blessed be!” is a common greeting for you, then you get it. If not, I’ll just say welcome to the hottest part of the year — and this year’s been a doozy.) It’s one of the traditional harvest festivals, which of course has a secondary meaning: death.

Things often get pretty wonky for me on August 1; if it’s not the Grim Reaper dropping by for a social call, then it’s some other fine mess. Also, the day falls on a Full Moon this year. (more…)

“Parallelomania” is a term used in the study of history and religion. It entails ascribing a significant relationship between two works of scripture, myth, or literature simply because they parallel each other in some way. These parallels can be trivial or taken out of context, or a scholar can proclaim that such works share a common source or a causal link without any direct evidence. In either case, coincidence and other factors are ruled out. A great example is insisting there was a worldwide pre-historic flood because several ancient cultures had flood myths.

In keeping with the spirit of parallelomania, I will now proclaim that Robin DiAngelo and Greg Johnson occupy opposite sides of the same coin. (more…)
