Ibram X. Kendi’s Chain of Ideas is on the Great Replacement, which he describes as “the most dominant political theory of our time” (p. xxx).

Kendi is one of America’s most prominent skintellectuals. His 2017 book Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America (New York: Bold Type Books, 2017) made him the youngest author ever to win the National Book Award for non-fiction. (more…)

Most academic publishers — and all of the most prestigious ones — are affiliated with universities. Routledge is one of the largest private academic publishers. Routledge is fair-to-middling in terms of prestige but above average in production and marketing. Nobody places their best work there, but Routledge provides plenty of opportunities for established scholars to pad their resumes and young scholars on the make to get started. This coming weekend sees the conclusion of most major football (or soccer, for US readers) leagues across Europe. I doubt whether the prominent anti-immigration French philosopher Renaud Camus, the man who coined the term “The Great Replacement”, is a big sportsball fan himself, but if he is, he should be keeping close tabs on the contrasting final-day fortunes of two distant teams: Manchester United, of the English Premier League, and SSC Napoli of Italy’s Serie A. The uprising is organic, local, and working class. As far as militant street activism goes, the Irish are leading the way: thousands of natives marching against their replacement, families protesting at the hotels full of economic infiltrators, disused factories set aside for fake refugees made uninhabitable, rental properties boldly spray painted with “Irish Only,” and the mass chanting of “Come Out Ye Black and Tans” against the unwanted, foreign throngs thrust upon an enduring nation. Enemy of the Disaster is the first extensive English-language collection of Renaud Camus’ writings in opposition to what he was the first to name “the Great Replacement” of France’s — and Europe’s — people. The book consists of ten pieces written between 2007 and 2017. Co-translator Louis Betty also provides a useful introduction, though marred by his compulsion to triangulate against shadowy “white supremacists.” (more…)

In his 1920 book The Rising Tide of Color Against White World-Supremacy, Lothrop Stoddard warned that unless an immediate moratorium was placed on non-white immigration into white-majority countries, white dominance over geopolitical affairs would be lost amid a “tide” of non-white fecundity.
