The idea of the personal journey being self-documented on film is not new. Ross McEllwe’s autobiographical 1986 documentary Sherman’s March is a great example. McEllwe initially wanted to document the impacts of William Sherman’s campaigns in Georgia and the Carolinas during the Civil War, but ended up making a film about all the women in his life and why he cannot find romantic stability. There have recently been stories about how this or that mainstream conservative commentator is some kind of closet and/or ex-dissident Rightist, or is consuming dissident Right content on the down low. In March, liberals raked Tucker Carlson over the coals after leaked internal text messages revealed that he had read a Takimag article by notorious “Holocaust denier” David Cole and commented favorably on it. And then last month, a hot mic recording of Daily Wire star Matt Walsh surfaced in which he could be heard making “demographics are destiny” arguments about how non-whites would not be able to maintain America’s Anglo-Saxon culture. As everyone knows, it’s one of those lunatic far-Right anti-Semitic conspiracy theories to allege that the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), a “civil rights” organization that reportedly operates on a budget of only about $80 million per year, plays an oversized role in dictating policy to the United States government — which operates on a budget exceeding $5 trillion per annum. The recent overwhelmingly hostile public response to this year’s Pride Month is encouraging. Pushback against the LGBTQ agenda should not be entirely surprising, as it’s been a long time in coming. Two years ago, governors from socially conservative states were vetoing anti-trans legislation, but nowadays, they’ve changed their outlook. (more…)

Theater for normies doesn’t interest me.
