Manchester Benighted:
Why Sir Jim Ratcliffe Is the New Morrissey

Steven Tucker

3,345 words

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) upset some people this week by releasing a series of t-shirts branded with logos from previous iterations of the Olympic Games—including the 1936 Munich ones, held in Nazi Germany. Cue howls of liberal outrage. It was said that Including the Nazi Olympics was just not on, with the whole shameful episode being an appalling example of the unnecessary politicization of sport upon behalf of a sinister totalitarian regime.

I don’t know what Leftist critics were complaining about. Under their kind’s present-day misrule of the West, sport has become an increasingly blatant, Munich ’36-style vector for enforcing total ideological conformity amongst the general populace anyway, perhaps the most public platform available for illustrating the inevitable dire fate that awaits all contemporary wrong-thinkers. Below is part of a report from UK broadsheet The Times, about a February soccer game between Chelsea FC and Hull City FC. Read the headline and the first five paragraphs, and what do you notice?

That’s correct, no mention of the sport at all—just pious cant about some men in the stands being arrested for the trivial “crime” of jokingly singing a song calling the opposition players homosexual. The only “shadow cast” over Chelsea’s victory here, as mentioned in the headline, was that being cast by the oppressive Left-wing police-state. Do Times sports reporters really think their soccer-fan readers want to read about stuff like this, rather than about the actual soccer match? No, but giving the newspaper’s readers what they want is no longer the primary aim here. Instead, giving them what they are perceived to need is the true purpose of the piece. And what they are perceived to need above all else is a very public warning not to dissent.

Plucky Jim

The mere chanting proles can safely be arrested. Bigger fish in the soccer stadium can afford expensive lawyers, however, so they need to be dealt with in a more elaborate fashion. This is what happened this week to Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a petrochemicals billionaire and co-owner of England’s most famous soccer club, Manchester United. In an interview with Sky News (about economics, not sport) Ratcliffe complained about the deleterious effects of mass immigration upon the nation’s finances, daring to suggest Britain had been “colonized” by immigrants, which it has.

Personally, I was delighted to hear Jim’s statement. I have been suggesting that non-white immigrants, particularly Muslims, should be more properly called “settler-colonialists” for years now, as it would help the general public see more clearly what is being done to them from above.

However, Britain’s dictators don’t want such terms to gain any general currency, so they immediately forced a clearly insincere apology from Ratcliffe’s grudging mouth. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer himself personally demanded one, with further reproach coming from the Mayor of Manchester, Andy Burnham, both of whom are members of the ruling Left-wing anti-white Labour Party. They were able to force his public recantation because, despite Sir Jim being a tax-exile in Monaco, Labour still holds clear power to destroy Ratcliffe’s UK business-interests. Burnham sits on a committee governing Ratcliffe’s multibillion-pound attempts to expensively renovate Manchester United’s Old Trafford home-stadium and its surrounding area, whilst Starmer can pull levers granting or denying his chemicals company Ineos lucrative contracts to develop relevant government infrastructure.

Powar Play

Pushback against Ratcliffe’s heresy also came from within the world of football (as soccer is known in the UK). Supposedly, the game’s governing body, the Football Association (FA) is wholly independent of the government. When it comes to things like modifying the rules of the game, deciding which media company to sell broadcast rights to, etc., it is. Yet, if it ever dared go against government policy, such as by allowing prominent sporting figures to call Africans colonizers, or letting crowds make chants about the opposition goalkeeper being a bender, the FA may just find itself being reminded that, when it comes to things like mandatory Equality and Diversity laws, it is not actually quite so independent of state oversight after all.

Hence, the FA promptly announced it would be investigating whether to charge Ratcliffe with “bringing the game into disrepute”—even though he was giving an interview to a TV economics correspondent, not a TV sports reporter, so his words should really have been none of their business. It is not as if he turned up to the FA Cup Final dressed in a KKK hood.

The FA were not the only soccer special interest group to get involved in something that was none of their rightful business. English soccer has also been colonized by various parasitic “anti-racist” bodies like FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe), whose Executive Director, Piara Powar, a brown man whose surname is very apt, urged the FA to throw the book at Ratcliffe, as otherwise it could “lead us into a dangerous road with owners using the purchase of football clubs as a political platform.”

Heaven forfend! Does Piara mean if soccer club owners went around displaying giant political banners like these across their grounds before a watching global TV audience of millions or something?

Men Disunited

One of the key features of the ongoing mass colonization of Great Britain by foreigners is that, once their initial pioneer settler vanguard-groups have successfully laid down roots here, their subsequent offspring then begin systematically infiltrating the nation’s institutions and quietly subverting them from within. This even includes the club that Ratcliffe co-owns, and thus supposedly “controls,” like Manchester United. Traditionally known as the Red Devils, the team is now full of painted foreign devils to boot, many of whom are black and/or Muslim, and they were not best pleased to hear the white Englishman who generously pays them an average wage of over £100,000 per week call them and their kin by the name they most truly deserve.

United presently has 17 foreign colonizers in the first-team squad, and many of the “English” ones are of historic immigrant stock themselves. Such players were reportedly left “bewildered” by their boss’ comments, sources implying they may take Ratcliffe’s words into account when the time comes for them to renegotiate their playing contracts: in other words, do and say as we command you, white man, or else we’ll refuse to sign on, or demand even more money from you in a form of sporting Danegeld (but no longer very Scandinavian in nature). Manchester United has been colonized by foreign mercenaries who couldn’t give the slightest damn about the club.

The club’s administrative staff were also described by one anonymous source as being “a diverse workforce” who were left “absolutely raging” by their boss’ words, so much so they had the United PR Department put out an official statement reminding Sir Jim that, no matter what he’d paid for the club, they were the ones who really owned it, due to the presence of tyrannical, state-backed DEI laws on the nation’s statute books:

Manchester United prides itself on being an inclusive and welcoming club. Our diverse group of players, staff and global community of supporters, reflect the history and heritage of Manchester; a city that anyone can call home. Since launching [the leftist club-backed media propaganda campaign] All Red All Equal in 2016, we have embedded equality, diversity and inclusion into everything we do. We remain deeply committed to the principles and spirit of that campaign.

So, a bunch of uppity foreigners pour into an English football club, and then take advantage of all the racially biased ruling-class laws made in their name, which often don’t fully apply towards the protection of the country’s actual rightful natives, in order to tell the Englishman who naively thinks he actually owns the institution that, actually, they’re the ones in charge of things now—and, somehow, this doesn’t constitute colonization of the country by immigrants?

Actually, Sir Jim is just a minority 28.94% co-owner of the institution anyway. Although he himself was born in a working-class suburb of Manchester, being the archetypal local boy made good, United’s majority shareholders are distant US venture-capitalists, such as the Glazer family—who are themselves of Lithuanian Jewish immigrant stock, and so probably didn’t much approve of his bluntly honest words either.

Brotherhood of Manchester

If Manchester really is now “a city that anyone can call home,” as United staff claimed, that essentially means it operates in a valueless moral and civilizational vacuum—and, wherever such an anomie-ridden space appears in this globalist age, representatives of a much more forceful civilizational power will gratefully rush in to try and fill and colonize it instead, namely Islam. In 1971, records show Manchester was 96% white. Now white British people are in a minority, with 22% of the population being Muslim, and rising. What the Glazers think about that?

There is even a Manchester United Muslim Supporters’ Club (any white Christan equivalent would go against the colonists’ two-tier DEI laws). Their current Caliph, Asif Mahmud, complained that Ratcliffe’s too-correct words could “fuel far-Right rhetoric,” giving “strength and power to those that have similar opinions” and causing “a spike in Islamophobic and anti-Semitic incidents” in the city.

You can order Greg Johnson’s Loving Our Ownhere.

To be fair to Asif, there have indeed been a spike of “anti-Semitic incidents” in Manchester of late; most of them committed by his fellow Muslim settler-colonialists. In the very week Jim Ratcliffe made his comments, two Muslim incomers, Walid Saadaoui and Amar Hussein, were jailed for plotting to slaughter thousands of local Jews—and any passing white Christians and emergency services responders too, as “a bonus”—with machine-guns. Maybe they would even have shot the Glazers. The pair of gunmen acted in the specific name of Islamic State, whose ultimate aim for Britain is to transform it into a mere subsidiary arm of a global Caliphate; that is, to colonize it.

Even weirder was the response of the Irish In Britain advocacy group, whose notably white-skinned members must have had their own minds successfully colonized by anti-white dogma too. Pretending Ratcliffe must have been talking about people from Dublin, not Dakar, they released a bizarre statement reminding Sir Jim that Britain’s economy, “and Manchester’s in particular” had “been shaped through migrant labor and exchange” because the Manchester Ship Canal, which opened in 1894, had been largely built by imported Irish laborers, thus demonstrating how the city’s “prosperity has long relied on migration.”

Sir Jim wasn’t complaining about white Irishmen from hundreds of years ago who helped throw up the city’s infrastructure, though; he was complaining about black and brown Asians and Africans who helped blow it up much more recently. Men like Salman Abedi, the Libyan Islamist who exploded in the Manchester Arena stadium during a children’s concert in 2017, killing 22 people, and maiming around 250, mainly little girls, in the name of the colonial Caliphate. Abedi’s entire family were living in Manchester in their own little mini-colony, it seems, but why? They certainly didn’t come to build any more economy-boosting canals. According to one analysis of the surprisingly extensive imported “Libyan Islamist community” in Manchester:

The city of Manchester, United Kingdom, is home to the largest community of Libyans outside Libya. Estimates put its numbers at 5,000 or higher, with most living in the suburbs of Cheetham Hill, Chorlton, Whalley Range, and Fallowfield. Many in the community came to Manchester in the 1980s and 1990s, having left Libya due to their opposition to Muammar Gaddafi’s regime. Among these refugees were Islamists, including numerous members and leaders of what became the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG).

Incredibly, it appears Manchester’s authorities deliberately gave these people refuge in the city on the grounds that many of them were already known to be mad, violent Islamists, which is why Colonel Gaddafi kept on trying to kill them: it’s a shame he didn’t succeed. Truly, Manchester really is “a city that anyone can call home.” If he’d managed to flee Tripoli before his revolting countrymen had time to sodomize him to death with a bayonet back in 2011, Gaddafi himself would probably be living there in a taxpayer-funded council flat and attending United home games to cheer on the many Arabs on the team.

The Living Dead At the Manchester Morgue

In the wake of the 2017 Manchester Arena bombing, the city’s authorities, in association with the UK government, rolled out a disgraceful psy-op program in an attempt to manage the emotions of locals to channel their response into one of submissive lovey-dovey forgiveness, not one of carrying out righteous pogroms at their nearest Libyan-attended mosque (see my piece here for how this worked, and how the authorities repeated the cynical trick in 2024 following the Southport stabbings perpetrated by a second-generation Rwandan colonizer).

Not everyone fell for the consequent vomit-worthy scenes of brainwashed white Eloi hugging imams, releasing love-heart helium balloons, and gathering together in the city center to warble “Don’t Look Back in Anger” by 1990s Manchester Britpop stars Oasis, though. The most prominent refusenik was the city’s earlier leading 1980s music idol Morrissey, who is of white Irish immigrant stock himself, but probably not a paid-up, politically correct member of Irish In Britain. Following the atrocity, Mozza penned a furious song, “Bonfire of Teenagers” about how all the white people who sang “Don’t Look Back In Anger” were, in his words, “morons” and how he himself personally would “Look Back In Anger until the day I die.”

In words which seemed to anticipate the ruling-class treatment later handed out to Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Morrissey complained online that:

In modern Britain everyone seems petrified to officially say what we all say in private. [i.e., that the nation is being colonized by violent Islam] … Politicians tell us they are unafraid, but they are never the victims. How easy to be unafraid when one is protected from the line of fire. The [ordinary] people have no such protections. Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham says the attack is the work of an ‘extremist’. An extreme what? An extreme rabbit?

Of the weak-kneed UK Prime Minister at the time, Theresa May, Morrissey wrote that “her own life is lived in a bullet-proof bubble, and she evidently does not need to identify any young people today in Manchester morgues.” When May said the attack would not break the British people, Morrissey added that “Also, ‘will not break us’ means that the tragedy will not break her, or her [open door] policies on immigration. The young people of Manchester are already broken—thanks all the same, Theresa.”

What, precisely, has changed in the nine years since? Only the name of the current temporary, quisling, colonizer-appeasing PM, from Theresa May to Keir Starmer. Just like Sir Jim Ratcliffe today, Morrissey was not thanked for telling the truth about his own people’s growing enslavement—rather, many of the very persons he was trying to save condemned him for his words. When Morrissey returned to the city to hold a concert, mentally colonized white Mancunian DJ Dave Haslam staged an anti-racist counter-event under the name “One Nation Under A Groove,” implying that, as during the post-bombing “One Love Manchester” Oasis singalongs, music could somehow magically bring all Britain’s inhabitants, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, together in loving peace and harmony. Which is odd, really, as the biggest denomination of UK Muslims are Deobandis, who forbid listening to any music at all, considering it to be an abomination created by Satan.

Held in the name of a “charity” called “Love Music, Hate Racism,” Dave Haslam managed to source a rare, non-Deobandi Muslim DJ to spin discs over part of the night before spouting off total crap like the following:

Manchester is our home, it’s a city built on immigration, a city with an amazing legacy of great bands and wonderful clubs. Music brings people together. Strangers become brothers, sisters. All this positivity spreads into the city and beyond. Morrissey hasn’t lived in the city for 30 years – he lives abroad in tax exile – and has now joined the ranks of various right-wing politicians, tax exiles, tabloids, and media hate-slingers seeking to divide our community.

If Manchester really is “a city built on immigration” why was it 96% white in 1971? Hadn’t it been properly built at all back then, Dave? Was it just one big giant open park? Did they all live in tents? In fact, Manchester was built upon the Industrial Revolution, being the first fully industrialized city in the world, known as “Cottonopolis” from the early 1800s onwards. And who was it that DJ Dave thinks built all this initial world-leading industrial infrastructure? Was it the Libyans, who at the time really were still living in tents? No, it was the native white inhabitants of these islands, the English and the Irish, as Haslam knows perfectly well. When Morrissey once sang about the pressing need to “hang the DJ” I think it was Dave Haslam he must have had in mind.

Bigmouth Strikes Again

As for Morrissey living abroad in tax-exile, this was another exact criticism leveled against Jim Ratcliffe today, after he too spoke out, by critics like the volubly Left-wing former England footballer Gary Lineker.

The implication is that both are just greedy hypocrites. But maybe the true reason Morrissey and Ratcliffe live abroad is because the country they grew up in no longer even exists, because it has been colonized by Islam. Possibly they don’t want their money to be stolen by the vampire-dhimmi government to fund millions of pounds in state-subsidized security fees to defend mosques from angry British people, whilst the state simultaneously pays out absolutely nothing whatsoever to defend British people’s previously safe childhood pop-concerts from being blown up by the inhabitants of said mosques. Rather than continuing living abroad at home in Manchester, surrounded by all the hostile invaders, maybe men like Morrissey just prefer to live abroad elsewhere, where at least the disguised jizya taxes are lower?

In any case, as civic traitors like Dave Haslam have loudly reminded him, Morrissey just isn’t welcome in Manchester anymore. Local Left-wingers, outraged by him telling the truth about the city’s murderous colonization, have even produced abusive novelty tote-bags telling him to get out of town and shut up, just like they no doubt soon will for Jim Ratcliffe.

These are the production of a white Mancunian useful idiot named Verity Longley, who says she sold 500 in the hours after Morrissey made his truthful comments about the bombings; she went on selling them, then donated the profits to a local pro-immigrant charity. Maybe she should have donated it to the families of the dead children instead? Imagine holding a Whitechapel charity-plate collection in memory of Jack the Ripper, not all the slashed-up prostitutes he murdered.

As Morrissey has correctly said, “the most offensive thing you can do in modern Britain is to have an opinion and to talk clearly” about something important like the Great Replacement, rather than oh-so-carefully speaking around the entire subject in endless euphemisms and bromides. Yeah, tell Jim Ratcliffe about it.

“Shut up, Morrissey,” says the bag, but it really means “Get out of town, Mozza.” Remember, according to the mass-imported staff of Manchester United, the place is “a city that anyone can call home”—anyone, that is, apart from the many white people of Anglo or Irish heritage like Morrissey and Ratcliffe whose families have called it home for generations, and whom it rightfully belongs to. And, if they don’t like their new status as colonized second-class citizens there, then they can all just move out to make way for the incomers.

Far from truly being “a city that anyone can call home,” the only people the city truly does now seem to be welcoming towards are overpaid foreign footballers, self-entitled MUFC fan-club members with Pakistani names, and radical Libyan terrorists. And do you know why? It’s because, like Sir Jim just said, IT’S BEEN COLONIZED.

Jim Ratcliffe was absolutely correct, in every last word he said (apart from the later forced “sorry,” obviously). If his newfound enemies from places like Tripoli, Islamabad, and Nairobi are going to criticize him for living in Monaco, why can’t he criticize them for living in Manchester?

Can anyone tell me if attendance at British, or any European football games has waned because of things like this? Here in the good ole USA football and especially basketball attendance are way down. The only thing holding the NBA together is China.

It appears attendances are still not affected at all in the UK and major European leagues, despite whites becoming a minority at most big clubs, the anti white agenda that they fail to even notice and the invasion.

Kickball fans just dont get it and never will. Libshits are as dangerous as our enemies.

Duncan Bannatyne has been against the trans stuff in his gyms for years now. He also actually personally replies to people on X. He seems like a sensible chap.

As for football generally, I should stress that there is a difference in the way sports are followed in Europe [and south america] than the USA. I absolutely don’t blame an American for being anti sports. Sports there really are just guff. But European football is far more closely tied to the culture. For all the cuck stuff, there are also a lot of based football fans and clubs and even countries in Europe. Who doesn’t like seeing Hungary’s blackshirted ultras all with MAGYARORSZAG on their t shirts singing as one as their 99% Hungarian team plays (although in very recent years they do now have one or two nons.)

Then many other examples from S.S. Lazio in Italy to Millwall in England. And basically every Slavic and Balkan club and country is based. I could give you myriad stories – Josip Simunic the Croatian who did an Ustase salute, Paolo Di Canio the Lazio legend who gave a Roman salute. Many examples.

Football has BECOME very cucked in northwest Europe (what hasn’t?) But its unfair to dismiss it entirely. It is an intrinsic part of the culture in Europe and often speaks to national identity in deep ways. I think to ignore this fact is ignorant. I get it from a U.S. perspective. I really do. But we should be fair about how it is in Europe. It isn’t all bad. The history of it is chock full of examples of based and redpilled people. That also goes for Formula 1.

I could actually write a whole series of articles on Fascism and Sport if I could be assed. There’s a lot to be said about this and it isn’t just all “sportsball sucks”
