I recently wrote about the new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, and his then-mysterious “adopted black son” whose existence Johnson only ever referenced for entirely cynical reasons. In 2019 he claimed before Congress that he had asked his adopted black son what he thought about slavery reparations and that he was against it. This was the first time he had ever mentioned having a black son, nor does it appear in any of his official biographies. (more…)
There is a vast gap between MAGA populism and the “radical” Right. Despite the fact that we have common enemies and are both supposedly nationalist, this gap only seems to be growing.
This was recently highlighted by the new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, who was endorsed by Donald Trump and hysterically attacked as “Christo-fascist” by the media. But Mike Johnson has an adoptive black son, worships Saint Fentanyl Floyd, and made sending even more aid to Israel his first priority. Christo-fascist? More like Judeo-Bolshevik. (more…)
After several weeks of not having a Speaker of the House, the GOP have finally settled on a replacement for the deposed Kevin McCarthy. The lucky winner is Representative Mike Johnson of Louisiana. Johnson was first elected to Congress in 2016, which makes him the least experienced Speaker since John G. Carlisle in 1883. (more…)
