Now that Donald Trump has embroiled the United States in Israel’s war with Iran, one could be forgiven for assuming that the Zionist stranglehold on the Republican party is stronger than ever. After all, Trump-supporting media outlets are firmly behind the president, and MAGA loyalists seem utterly enthralled by the cult of personality that has developed around their supposed champion.
