If you are a young man wondering what to do with your life, you may consider enlisting in the military. Don’t. Yes, the military has its appeal, or seems to. You may need a job. The uniform looks good. There can be adventure. You might get laid by Asian lovelies in foreign countries. These things have their appeal. They did for me as a young Marine. But they aren’t worth being mutilated, blinded, or spending the rest of your years in a wheelchair. This can happen. It does happen. And Washington doesn’t give a damn.
Recruiters won’t tell you of this. They are liars. They lied to me. They will lie to you. At the very least, they will talk only about good things that might happen, about college money and job training you might get but probably won’t. They will make you feel welcome. You are joining a team of brothers, they will say. You are a patriot. You are defending your country.
Don’t believe it. The US military does not defend America. The last time it did this was in 1945, at the end of the Second World War. Since then, American soldiers were sent for 20 years to Afghanistan. Is Afghanistan America? No. Was it, is it, important to America? No. Then Iraq, Syria, Iraq again, and Serbia, bombing helpless cities. Iraq isn’t America. In my day — I’m an old guy — it was Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, where 63,000 Americans died and killed huge numbers of peasants who did nothing wrong — for no reason. Washington is now getting ready to start a war with China. China is on the other side of the world.
Let me tell you what the military does to young men, what Washington does. Long ago I was driving a truck near the Marine base in Danang, Vietnam. A bullet came through the windshield. The glass spatter went into my eyes, filling them with blood and blinding me for, as it turned out, several months. I lay for maybe an hour beside the road until a chopper finally came to take me to the Naval Support Activity hospital. For a couple of weeks a Viet nurse gave me a large injection of penicillin every few hours, because if the blood had got infected, that would be it for my vision.
Across the corridor from me were two Marines whose tank had been hit by a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG). It ruptured the hydraulic lines, and the hydraulic fluid had exploded into flames. The two crewmen across from me had gotten out somehow, though horribly burned. I was told they were covered with a plastic sheet that dripped with evaporation from their burns, but I don’t know. The other two had cooked alive, burning, burning, in agony, skin sloughing off, unable to breathe in the flames, desperately trying to find the hatch. The two across from me said they could hear them screaming. It is what the military did to them. It is what the military will do to you.
A recruiter might tell you that I am an old guy, and things have changed. No. They have not. The military still uses tanks, rifles, land mines, bombs, flamethrowers, artillery. Aircraft carriers, important for the upcoming war with China, still carry large quantities of jet fuel and explosives. They are barbecues waiting to be lighted. You can have your bowels blown out, or burn alive, as easily now as then.

You can buy Greg Johnson’s Against Imperialism here.
Did Vietnam have anything to do with America? No. It’s on the other side of the freaking world. Likewise Afghanistan, Ukraine, Syria, Iraq. So why does the military, why does our government do it?
Answer: So the arms industry can make money. And so Washington can try to control the world. Are you willing to die, to spend your life in a wheelchair, to wear a colostomy bag full of your own shit and never have a date because you were gut-shot — so Lockheed-Martin’s stock shares will go up? Don’t do it. Don’t let the bastards use you.
The wars never stop because the money is sweet, the profits enormous. Washington just finished 20 years of killing in Afghanistan , meaning 20 years of juicy contracts. How did this defend America? Now we have Ukraine, so far costing taxpayers over a hundred billion dollars. Is Ukraine America? The United States is falling apart, as anyone can see, and Washington sends money to Ukraine. Hundreds of thousands of soldiers and civilians, Russians and Ukrainians, have died there — for nothing. But of course most of that money going to Ukraine is used to buy weapons from the arms companies. Follow the dollar.
For Washington, for the arms industry — they are almost the same thing — long wars in distant places are desirable because companies such as Lockheed-Martin and Raytheon can keep selling the Pentagon missiles, tanks, helicopters, and simple things such as gasoline at jacked-up prices. War is about money. Washington cares about money. It does not care about you.
Don’t let them use you.
I’ll tell you another story. I spent about a year on the eye ward, 4B, at Bethesda Naval Hospital, as it was then called, just outside of Washington. In hospital wards you see what the military really does to people. There was a guy blind because a defective rifle grenade had detonated on the end of his rifle. Another fellow had taken an AK round through the jaw, shattering the bone. The fragments had to be removed, leaving the flesh where his jaw had been hanging down in a formless blob like a wet sock. He ate through a nasogastric tube going through his nose. We called him Jawless.
Military wards are full of such. The one I most remember was a young Marine from Tennessee, maybe 19. One side of his face was grotesque hamburger. He was stone blind. I was nearby when his high school sweetheart, maybe 17, came to visit him.
“Johnny . . . Johnny . . . Oh, Johnny.”
So much for the marriage, I figured. What young high school senior wants to tie herself for life to a blind horror that she will have to lead around?
The war in Vietnam was lost, of course, but it wasn’t in vain. It made unimaginable profits for the arms industry. Why do you think American wars last so long? If America wins the war, the money stops flowing. If it loses the war, the money stops. Keep the war going, and the money flows.
This is the military the recruiters don’t tell you about. It is the real military.
Want to know the lousy medical care the Pentagon gives the wounded? An incompetent military eye surgeon managed to destroy my remaining good eye years later. To see the kind of thing that happens, read this at The Unz Review. It will show you what you can expect.
Think what, if you enlist, you will really be doing. Let’s say that you are ordered to fire artillery at some city or village. In your impact zone, a little girl of seven, hit by shell fragments, looks down in surprise as her intestines fall from her stomach, and begins crying, then screaming. This happens, frequently. What do you think hot, jagged shrapnel does to a soft, young belly? She holds out her arms to mommy for help, this being instinct with the very young, before collapsing from profuse bleeding. Large blood vessels are found in the abdomen. Her mother goes stark bugfuck crazy, desperate to save her daughter but watching her die. It is how we defend America, see.
This is what the military is, what it does. It is what you will be used to do, directly or indirectly.
Those in Washington who will send you to kill people you have never met, and to be mutilated, do not themselves go to war. Rich young men do not enlist. Students at Harvard and Yale do not enlist. The military preys on, takes advantage of, ordinary kids, usually high-school grads, often from the South.
If you are 20 years old, what I am about to say will be ancient history, but I ask you to think about it. The same thing is going on today.
The following men were all of military age during Vietnam, and they now rule the country or did: President George Bush II, Bill Clinton, John Bolton (of whom you have probably never heard, but a major warhawk), Biden, Trump all avoided military service. All now want to send you to wars. To express it clearly, they see you as suckers. Think about it.
I tell you, as one who has been there, who has seen it, don’t let them use you.

Thanks. That was excellent and it’s good to have an article written by someone who knows from personal experience.
No more Whites for the War Machine.
I normally think of this Fred guy as a bit of a clown, but I couldn’t agree more with this one
Fred Reed is one of the best prose stylists alive. I brought him onto Taki’s Mag years ago and was the one who suggested bringing him onto Counter-Currents.
Powerful stuff. The real enemy is in Washington DC.
As a young man (which is to say, back in the mists of time) I served three years of active duty in the Army. At the time I was proud to do so. And I was lucky that it was peacetime service, so I have never known the horrors familiar to combat veterans.
But were I the same age today, there is no way in hell I would want to serve. The government and the military have made it clear that they despise people like me: white male heterosexuals. To any young white person contemplating joining up, I echo the author and beg you not to do so. Flip hamburgers for a living if you have to, but do not become the sucker of some recruiter out there.
If I were Dictator of the USA…
I would unilaterally pass two laws, the second of which would state that the first can never be repealed under any circumstances.
The first law would decree that any and all lawmakers who vote in favor of sending young men to war are strictly obligated to lead those same young men into battle. And when I say “lead,” I mean it in the most literal sense possible.
That’s right, Dick Cheney. You — and I mean you, asshole — you WILL be on the front lines, doing door-to-doors in Fallujah, running point in the jungle, keeping an eye out for tripwires, leading your men over the top when it’s time to charge the enemy lines. None of this photo-op, “in the rear with the gear,” ceremonial shit. Uh uh. No way, Dick, you’ll be the tip of the spear. (You can even hold onto your Haliburton stock.)
Agree with this article wholeheartedly (I am also a veteran). However, not sure I understand this:
“The US military does not defend America. The last time it did this was in 1945, at the end of the Second World War.”
Were the Germans about to invade the US?
He’s surely referring to Japan, although their attack wasn’t entirely unprovoked.
And even if it had been, it wouldn’t have justified a total war, a war to conquer all of Japan with its overseas possessions, and to impose a largely Jew-written liberal-democratic constitution and indefinite occupation and disarmament on the country
They play for keeps
This war against Japan would be “good”, if not the fact that soon after it the Communist China was created and the US gave the Chinese over to Mao Zedong.
“The Forced War” David L. Hoggan is book number 7 on World War II in my research, &, it is the best in understanding what lead to September 1, 1939. Just finished chapter 19. Chapters 18 & 19 are crucial as Germany is doing everything possible in letting Britain & France know that Germany does not seek conflict with the West. Every home & every library needs to have “The Forced War” by David L. Hoggan 1961.
The overall conflict is between Globalism vs Nationalism. USSR represented Globalism; Spain, Italy, Germany represented Nationalism. People can decide for themselves whether they wish to live in a sovereign, one people, free nation, or, in a global, no nation, ruled by a one world global entity. All the below examples point to evidence that virtually all these conflicts & wars were orchestrated to prepare the world for a One-World-Government .
Books:
“Hitler’s War” David Irving 1977, “Churchill’s War volumes I” David Irving 1987, also volumes II & III (notice there are 3 volumes of Churchill’s War), “Churchill, Hitler, and the Unnecessary War” Pat Buchanan 2008, “The Origins of the Second World War” A.J.P. Taylor 1961, “Stalin’s War” Sean McMeekin 2021, “The Forced War” David L. Hoggan 1961 in Germany Der Erzwungene Krieg (The Forced War), “Benjamin Freedman 1961 speech at Willard Hotel”.
Upon doing your own research you will find what actually happened. The mess we (The West) are in today is a direct result of World War II & beyond as we sided with USSR(Globalism). Read the bottom of page 280 in “Stalin’s War” by Sean McMeekin, 2021. Read the top of page 12 in “The Forced War” by David L. Hoggan, November 1961 (pages 726 to 788 are the notes).
Hollywood is not history.
COVID media narrative is a lie, Iraq WMD media narrative is a lie, 9/11 media narrative is a lie (building 7), JFK assassination media narrative is a lie, hence, why would anyone believe that the World War II media narrative is the truth?
The good news is that the British these days are asking questions like “this isn’t the Britain we fought for”, it’s been over 80 years from 1945, better late than never. So, exactly why did Britain go to war against Germany?
It was Britain/France that declared war & attacked Germany. Hitler did not want a conflict with Britain, here are 3 minimum proofs:
1-Britain bombed Germany first & multiple times before Germany responded.
2-At Dunkirk Germany could have taken them all as POWs, instead Hitler let the allies go back to Britain.
3-May 10, 1941 Rudolf Hess solo flight on a mission of peace failed because Churchill refused any peace offers. Churchill imprisoned Hess for the rest of his life, he died in 1987.
Churchill refused all of Hitler’s peace offers. The British people along with the people of the Allies were lied to.
@John. A great post with great recommendations, many of which I’ve read and the rest of which I intend to read. As a teenager in the Cold War it seemed to me kind of weird that immediately after VE day the Reds blockaded Berlin hence the Berlin Airlift, which I learned about in a Walter Cronkite documentary as a child in the 1950’s. Almost every problem we have today was either originated or worsened by going into the wrong side in WW2.
This is an important article that should be read by all Americans and the hawks of all nations. Thank you and greetings from Finland.
I don’t know how any recruiter can talk about brotherhood with a straight face after the mass discharges from the vaccine mandate. There was not an ounce of solidarity.
Nor can they talk about solid brotherhood, the foundation for unit cohesion in combat, in a military that puts females in command postions over White men on the field of battle or aboard naval warships, or that funds gender reassingments for active-duty members, or that lowers standards and provide male assistance to women otherwise unable to complete Ranger School or airborne traning.
At West Point, the nation’s oldest and arguably most pretigious service academy, all portraits and statutes of Robert E. Lee, perhaps its greatest and most illustrious graduate, were recently removed from the campus. WP’s honor code has been been effectively neutered, and its centuries-old old motto, “Duty, Honor, Country” has been changed to weak verbiage referencing the support of “Army Values,” whatever that means. Finally, black female cadets have been photographed while in parade formation raising their fists to gesture black power.
The argument being that, since minorities are entering into prestigious schools like West Point and removing white artefacts such as Robert Lee portraits, whites should abandon the institutions completely and flip hamburgers? I do not think this is a viable strategy, unless the goal is to turn Whites into a slave underclass with the mentality of “well at least we avoided the 0.5% chance of injury in peacetime and the 20%+ chance of injury in wartime”
No, that’s not the argument at all. The argument is that young white men should not be a part of an institution whose leadership not only doesn’t represent their interests, but actively works against those interests. Just watch Mark Milley’s arrogant and condescending remarks about “white rage” while testifying in front of Congress if you want to see what I mean. Let’s quit pretending that the U.S military is still a white institution and recognize it for what it is. How many Jews do you think tripped over themselves trying to enlist in the Wehrmacht?
Mark Milley is not the only general or admiral to say or do something similar about non existent white supremacists in the military. In the past several years other flag officers have done similar things. Even when they look foolish, they are never called out for it. One incident that I refer to quite often is the one involving the former head of the Air Force Academy, General Silvera. In 2016 he took advantage of the hate crime hoax at the preparatory school. He said that he didn’t care that it was fake. He even received an award from the anti-defamation league. It is apparent that the military, including the service academies, are no longer white institutions.
Richard Chance wrote:

Well, Jews were not German citizens. But Jews were defined as someone having more than two Jewish grandparents by blood, unless they also practiced either Judaism or Communism, in which case one drop was probably sufficient. This means that a lot of mischlinge had German citizenship and were serving honorably in the Wehrmacht, draftees or otherwise.
The Luftwaffe Field Marshal Erhard Milch (Göring’s capable deputy and head of Lufthansa and then the RLM (Reich Air-Travel Ministry) was nominally the son of a deceased Jewish pharmacist named Anton Milch ─ but his mother signed an affidavit for Göring in 1935 saying that Anton was not Erhard’s father. So Milch’s ancestry, let alone his German citizenship or role in the creation of the Luftwaffe that year, was never in question.

From what I’ve read over the years, West Point and the other service academies have lowered their standards in order to increase diversity. This also done to admit black athletes who wouldn’t normally be admitted. Some West Point alumni have taken notice of this, as well as some of the instructors, both civilian and military. There are several websites that have articles about this. One website that is good at keeping up with this is johntreed.com. He is both a West Point alumni and a Vietnam veteran. He is a business consultant. His website has some commentary on politics and the military. He has several articles about how disfunctional the military can be. There are two articles on his website that reveal the downside of diversity at West Point. The articles are several years old, however, I would be willing to bet that they are still relevant. The first one is “Open Letter to Grads from LTC(ret) Heffington” from October 22, 2017. The other is “Mamas don’t let your white male babies to grow up to apply to West Point”. It is dated June 14, 2018. The article from LTC(ret) is eye opening. He is an alumni and was instructor at West Point twice. The only time he mentions race is when he describes the anti-white history course for freshmen. He mentions cadets who are beligerant to the staff, who are barely literate, and who have multiple academic failures. He also describes his frustration at how they are not really disciplined and how all of this is swept under the rug. He doesn’t mention race when describing cadets, however, if you read his letter, you can read between the lines. It’s obvious that the staff is reluctant to discipline black cadets.
The “arms industry” argument is over-simplistic. Often the military interventions have benefits for all American corporations by allowing them to maintain or expand their presence in those countries. And as they are publicly traded, this is beneficial to all Americans who choose to invest, equalling 58% of households as of 2022. Add in a small amount of people who, while not holding stock, work for American businesses with international interests, and we probably have up to 70% of Americans directly benefitting from a military intervention somewhere where there is hostility to American business – for example, a Communist Vietnam.
I respectfully differ. We’ve been doing this since forever. USMC Colonel Smedley Butler wrote all about that in War Is A Racket. We’ve all heard the slogan “No Blood For Oil” – right? Well, once it was an intervention for a fruit company in Honduras – the original banana republic. That’s only the beginning.
Sure, the huge corporations (that hate the guts of real Americans lately) get some extra cha-chinnng! Even so, this ruins America’s reputation around the world. More recently, we have Kermit Roosevelt of the CIA to thank for rubbing out Iran’s leader Mossadegh, on behalf of an oil company, which ultimately paved the way for the fruitcake Khomeini to come to power. That caused no end of trouble, and for a hot minute, we were playing kissyface with Saddam as a counterweight against Iran. Presumably we’d be a little upset if China, for example, started bumping off our own leaders (even as bad as they are) to make way for someone more favorable, or just decided to invade because we revoked a trade deal or something.
which ultimately paved the way for the fruitcake Khomeini to come to power
Khomeini come to the power with the help by the French. Many Iranians wanted to rid of the Shah, but they wanted to have some kind of a nationalist bourgeois republik like Atatürk`s Türkey, not medieval reactionary state. Without foreign help Khomeini would never be Rahbar.

Presumably we’d be a little upset if China, for example, started bumping off our own leaders (even as bad as they are) to make way for someone more favorable
Oh no, China just pays to your Democrats to get power and to stay with it. Chinagate, Hunter Biden, and many many others are on the Chinese payroll. Your Hollywood is censored by the Chinese. Your academics, journalists, business persons are dependend on the Chinese. Your intelligence, counterintelligence and law enforcement services are full of Chinese agents. So ChinComs do not need bump off American or any other Western (and not Western) leaders, they simply can buy them.
There is no doubt that FDR sought war to pull the country up by the bootstraps and to end the Depression. And World War prior to nuclear weapons was incredibly safe for the USA since it is a resource-rich continent nestled between two large oceans.
But the best solution to restoring full employment was not war but modernizing the economy and the financial system.
By 1937, the addled Supreme Court had decided that “the only business of government was Business” and the God of free-markets was the most high god of the Republic, so they had begun to consistently rule that New Deal measures (good or bad) were therefore Unconstitutional.
However, asking Congress to declare war is among the most Constitutional things that a President can do (if one ignores the secret prior warmongering). So scheming for war is exactly what FDR did to end the Depression. And it worked.
Everybody was hiring and a mature veteran workforce was ready for education and employment and starting families. By 1946, after the end of the war, the normal birthrate was back but it was not what it had been from subsistence agriculture at the turn of the 20th century. Those days are not coming back.
The Nazis managed full employment and robust trade on their own terms after Hitler had been in power for about a year.
Even if one is skeptical about “alphabet soup agencies” like the AAA or the NLRB, or Keynesian economics or central banks, there is no reason that the financial system itself cannot be made to serve the Nation first.
🙂
I was taught the old saw that the war ended the Great Depression in high school 50 years ago. However, it doesn’t hold up under examination.
The war took millions of men out of the productive workforce and turned industry away from producing goods for the market. The actions of the state in putting those men in uniform and removing them from the economy, plus rationing and bond drives, helped disguise the effects of depression. But the overall domestic product did not rise substantially. Nor did the standard of living, which was suppressed by the rationing and by making many goods unavailable.
The Depression ended after the ONLY after the rationing and other artificial restraints on the economy were removed, and markets were allowed to function again. Murray Rothbard, the great economic historian, documents this very well in his book “America’s Great Depression.” He also argues effectively the the New Deal spending programs prolonged the Depression, by preventing natural price decreases and thus impeding recovery through the liquidation of bad assets.
If the Depression is defined as unemployment hovering near 25 percent or even a third of the available workforce, government contracts and then the war was what systemically changed things and primed the pump. I wasn’t making a case for the New Deal, as FDR was an old plutocrat at heart and was more interested in expanding Federal power for its own sake, and he did not really want to inconvenience his elite friends sitting on their lands, stacks of uninvested money and paying depressed wages for people almost begging for work that wasn’t available. In fact, both Secretary Morgenthau and FDR unironically considered themselves to be Jeffersonian Democrats in the romantic agriculturalist spirit. Lots of Hyde Park types thought that farm work was noble ─ especially if it were the peasants doing the drudgery while Shylock gets to clip the coins.
Libertarianism and (((Austrian School))) economics is hardly any magic elixir. Herbert Hoover was a great Statesman, a can-do engineer and a decent philanthropist. But he was deluded in thinking that institutions right themselves. He did not understand that systemic failures require systemic solutions.
The solution to the Depression did not require going to war, but it did require the government itself and some political imagination beyond the Gospel of Wealth or laissez-faire Capitalism. When the public school kiddies have learned for the last 75 years that FDR saved Capitalism from itself, they are not (entirely) wrong. Left out is Frank’s warmongering and his mendacious demagoguery.
🙂
“The US military does not defend America. The last time it did this was in 1945, at the end of the Second World War. Since then, American soldiers were sent for 20 years to Afghanistan. ……”.
Yes, Japan did attack Pearl Harbor, however, FDR insisted on keeping the main fleet in Pearl Harbor against the advice of the Admirals & USA placed an embargo around Japan. There’s more to the story isn’t there! One would not be wrong to figure out that FDR was hoping Japan would attack. Remember, an aggressor also includes one who creates a situation that forces the other to attack.
You might get laid by Asian lovelies in foreign countries. These things have their appeal.
Not really. Asian women are the most overrated demographic there is. The Americanized ones who speak fluent English and who have memorized all the right oppression narratives are the worst of the lot.
Worse than blacks and the Latinx cows who’ve learned the same mantras? I’ve met some pretty bad, second-generation, college-educated Indians too. They all learn the “hate whitey” dogma and its concomitant grift very quickly.
Ground soldiers, whose fatality rate is 1.3 per 100k, don’t even make it onto the list of top 25 most dangerous jobs. Crossing guards are twelfth on the list, with 14 deaths per 100k (about ten times the rate for grunts). Cops are at number 22 , with 14 per 100k. Loggers top the list at 111 per 100k.
https://www.ishn.com/articles/112748-top-25-most-dangerous-jobs-in-the-united-states
That may be during peace time, but how many more get killed or injured once the cannons start roaring? It can easily surpass the loggers with 58 per year.
The author was talking about odds to consider when making a career choice. There are always going to be variables. 9/11 was a bad day to be an office worker in lower Manhattan.
The US-China war is going on now, just this is still a war by proxy, fought by Ukrainians and Russians respectively, who are dying in thousands for foreign interests and the interests of their cosmopolitan elites.
No, America can not oppose China directly for China is destined to inherit the mantle of globalist hegemony from the U.S., once it collapses. It is too politically incorrect for US policymakers to attack China directly. White Russia is the true enemy of white America, all under the auspices of Zionist Israel. The Chinese will be the next, last puppets of the Jews, the yellow men the proverbial foreman directing the construction of ditches to bury the corpses of the last whites who have killed themselves in civil wars, the blacks doing the actual digging.
I would not disagree that the government does not care about you.
But global corporations care even less.
And family businesses ─ if there are any left after the Covid lockdowns, and even with very nice White owners ─ usually cannot even afford to provide their employees with basic health insurance.
Life itself is dangerous ─ and people step on landmines through no fault of their own. Or at least, they get hit in the crosswalk by drunk drivers. All the time.
When I was a wee lad in High School, I was a Civil Air Patrol cadet officer on track for one of the military academies, and many of the World War II veterans were a lot younger than I am now.
My High School electronics teacher had been prior-service in the U.S. Air Force post the Korean War and he was pretty adamant that it was the best thing that he had ever done. His kids had lived all over the world and spoke exotic languages. He retired young and then taught High School shop, not far from his hometown of Shelley, Idaho (known for packing Tater Tots). He must be in his late nineties now but is still alive according to FaceBook.
During the Carter Administration, I remember that there was an apprecticeship program that paid an employer to take you on. I was considering doing it, not sure if I was really college material. I was pretty top notch on an electronics work bench, just not so great with the analytic geometry and calculus. That government apprenticeship program did not last long once Reagan was elected, but you still had to register for the draft to get college aid or to borrow student loans.
A military career seemed a bit pedestrian to me then, but that was before I learned that a High School Diploma was barely good enough to get you a job frying chicken or as the third-shift manager at McDonalds.
I never flipped burgers, but I have managed my share of the night shifts at convenience stores, one of which was regularly visited by a serial killer (now long executed in Idaho) who had a propensity for raping and murdering Special Ed. teachers and stuffing convenience store clerks into the walk-in freezer after ventilating their torsos with .38 caliber slugs. I think the reason he never tried anything where I worked was because he lived right around the corner and everybody knew him (except me), plus I never tried to shame him when he would plop his fat-ass down not long before closing time and browse the dirty books (as long as there were no other patrons in the store getting creeped out). My job was to defend the optics of the establishment, after all.
In rural Idaho some time in the early part of the 21st century, my elderly parents answered a knock at the door one evening to find a White kid moaning on the porch and who was sporting makeshift tourniquets on each wrist fashioned from his t-shirt. Despite the blood loss, he had managed to hike for over a mile across wheat fields and lava beds after a Mexican drug gang had taken him out to the hinterland and partially cut off his hands with a hatchet for some reason. Criminals are not really manifestations of rational genius. The participants were all Beaners except for the victim and the White girlfriend of the young Jefe. I think the doctors were able to save the young man’s hands, but I don’t know how well they work.
In Idaho you will rarely see a Negro, but the population is 15 percent Hispanic, depending on what counts as White. Idaho is only one of three states in the lower 48 with a majority-Anglo population ─ the rest are either Volksdeutsch or Hispanic, actually.
Anyway, so much for the safety of the Whitetopia. What about the big city? Surely getting pushed off a subway platform or getting stabbed to death by Diversity is a rarity. Aren’t White people all leaving those bejewelled states in any case?
Everybody is moving to Maricopa County in Arizona. Maricopa County is larger geographically than the states of Connecticut and Rhode Island combined, and almost as populous. My Uncle had the misfortune of waiting too long after dark to be caught in downtown Phoenix on foot.
He got stabbed in the neck by a track star Negro named Rege who was chasing his Mexican Gorda blindly down an alley because she did not want another beating. The proud PoC bumped into the White pedestrian ─ and thinking quickly, stabbed him in the neck as they rolled on the ground in the confusion.
Before he passed out, my Uncle cold-clocked Rege with a board laying in the alley while some nearby homeless people dialed 911 on their free Obama-phones, thus saving his life. Rege is now doing a life stint in the state facility for rape and murder, unrelated to the aforementioned events and his previous considerable rap sheet and atrocious tattoos. The last time that I checked, Rege was not a model prisoner.
If we are talking about mitigating risk, the odds of getting into an accident while commuting to school or work by any means is pretty high. You have tons of heavy metal travelling at ballistic speeds all around you. No need to enlist in the Army for the educational benefits or to shoot the guns to incur serious life-changing events.
I was hit by a White junkie while commuting home from the University during rush-hour traffic on my bicycle and took the full kinetic force of a guy on probation speeding along in his girlfriend’s car and blowing through red lights. I don’t remember anything else until about a week later in the ICU in Scottsdale, one of the top trauma hospitals in the country. One of my trauma surgeons was Wachtel, named after the guy that fired the V1 flying bombs at London during the war, but this one did not seem to have a sense of humor: “Just wear your bike helmet next time.”
I was lucky. There was no spinal damage and I still kept my good looks, which cannot be said for some of the burn patients in occupational and physical therapy.
I don’t need to be reminded that I was lucky, but True Luck is not getting injured at all.
I am basically an Isolationist in the Charles Lindbergh mold. I don’t see how sovereign nations cannot have strong militaries or how you can truly have meaningful citizenship without a high proportion of prior military service in the society. The idea that most Commanders-in-Chief and their deputies “wag the dog” proudly today, never having even fired a gun unless it was part of a posh hunting accident, is outrageous to me.
I have no use for ZOG wars and billions of dollars of aid going to the Russian Front or to Israel. A long time ago I wrote a rant about the meaning of Memorial Day, which is now archived with the new CODOH and some of my older movie and book reviews in now-defunct Revisionist journals. If I were to write the Memorial Day rant today, I would probably try to make it less turgid and would not poke fun at the Greatest Generation, then cheerfully manning the picket lines at Walmart. That is my demographic now.
So what is a young man to do?
I can’t speak for the modern military of trannies and anti-White woke. In my day over forty years ago, they had the mandatory Diversity training, but I openly went as a non-miscegenationist and nobody thought any less of me for it. In those days the Army forts were named after Confederate generals and you could actually buy a Confederate Battle Flag at the Atlanta airport gift shop.
Certainly I would never advise anyone to volunteer for any of the ZOG wars fought in my lifetime.
But if one talks to prior-service people in advance and makes some good enlistment choices, it is very hard for me to imagine that you can’t get any useful training and leadership experience out of it.
What do kids do today instead? Well, usually it consists of something like playing video games in Mom’s basement, never learning how to talk to attractive girls IRL, and getting fat on Big Gulps and heavily-processed food deliveries. A lot of people are advising that you should not waste the time or money on a Marxist-University education, but I am not sure what other choice there is. Trade school is great if you can pay for it and like to plumb basements.
I can’t think of any institution other than the U.S. military that helps a career-oriented person subsidize starting a family. From housing and healthcare, to education, to groceries, you actually get more goodies the more dependents that you have.
My brother-in-law was a nuclear engineer who had been an officer in the nuclear Navy before he bought the farm a few years ago (just before retirement) when his RV hit a patch of ice in late April on the Interstate in Iowa whilst on his way from Idaho to the Argonne National Lab near Chicago.
Earlier he advised his stepson, my nephew, to go to the Naval Academy and then serve on a nuclear submarine, which he did. My nephew married an Idaho girl after graduation and getting his commission in the Navy, and now he has at least five kids and is studying to become a doctor. He does not want to do long deployments on submarines any longer and has left the Navy. Like me at his age, he is probably not thinking much about retirement, military or otherwise. But is that really more dangerous than being underemployed? A lot of veterans told me that they actually liked the Army, just not the Korean “police action” part.
My Dad was an aerospace and nuclear engineer who had been in the top running as an Air Force test-pilot but who got kicked out after graduation for a medical reason prior to the Vietnam escalation when an incompetent flight surgeon prescribed a dangerous drug by mistake and caused a serious illness. They kicked out the recovering patient and not the senile physician. In his professional career as an aerospace civilian, which fortuitously had gotten him an Army draft-deferment, Dad tended not to appreciate the military culture and especially pompous colonels and generals.
This encouraged me not to do nearly as much with my military career as I otherwise would have liked. My Dad is still furious today that they kicked him out, and was almost as mad that I later enlisted in the Army Signal Corps, which I do not regret. My $3,500 G.I. bonus went about half the way to paying the interest on my student loan (and I did not borrow anything until my Senior year in College).
I just was not very career-minded, as I should have been.
Hindsight is always 20/20.
🙂
Loyalty to ZOG is treason to America.
It really is that simple.
Do not enlist!
And do what exactly? Extreme asceticism is not going to win anything.
🙂
How about start, or at least work in, a business or trade that will actually add to the wealth and income of the country, instead of sucking its blood?
Good work if you can get it. What modern international corporation is not a shameless bloodsucker?
An old Populist saying is that the West and the South feed the country while Wall Street milks it. True. But what blossoming firm is not beholden to government contracts?
During the big aerospace recession in the early ’70s before the oil embargoes, my Dad went to work for a CPA firm and was hoping not to feed the war machine any longer. We had landed on the Moon, NASA budgets were slashed, and our fearless leaders were not going to spend so much public money pushing the envelope on something like scientific exploration. No need to look for “God Particles.”
I remember going to the University of Arizona computer center with my Dad and Uncle where they were able to lease time on the big computer mainframe for accounting problems instead of missile ballistics, nuclear warhead reliability, plasma physics and whatnot. He was fed up with how Lockheed had treated him and his engineering colleagues and was considering getting a CPA license and putting out his own shingle.
But what Dad found out was that nearly all of the lucrative clients were involved in one way or another with government contracts just the same, from education to medicine.
I still have some IBM computer punch cards from those days. It took a whole box of such cards to run a program and we used them like doorstops. The science magazines all said that by the 21st century everybody would have this kind of Star Trek computing power in their wristwatches. Imagine the engineering and accounting problems that could be solved ─ a “cognitive revolution.”
But that was not where the market was.
When small-town America flies the bevy of rainbow or tranny flags, it is not usually the dwindling small businesses or the elderly Baby Boomers signalling their public virtues. It is the corporate firms ─ the ones that can actually provide a health plan for their employees and their families.
The Big Line bosses want a world with an “international specialization of labor,” the bourgeois morality of the least-common-denominator writ large, where the country itself imports the Coolies and the Pajeets to work cheap, or else the boards close the shops outright and move whole plants overseas wanting to sell us their disposable consumer junk. They said that opening up Maoist China would bring us a billion new consumers to sell the new Nïggertech to. The reverse was the case.
In the 1990s, I picked up my Uncle from the Motorola corporate headquarters to go out to lunch one day, and had to wait for awhile at the plant office, and literally 99 percent of the engineering staff were foreign-born Indians, usually without families in tow.
Gee, I thought the Southwest was a mecca for semiconductor technology and innovation because of the climate and the open-minded regulatory environment. But in reality the big-line corporate players had big plans for the Boom and they had big plans for the Bust. They were all lucratively exporting the tradecraft overseas as fast as they possibly could.
Disposable jobs. Disposable people.
🙂
This is a good counter-perspective. While you shouldn’t take extreme risks for the sake of your enemies, harm avoidance is not an essentially noble principle to lead one’s life by. In the colonial era White men and women dropped like flies because of tropical diseases; some sought fortune or adventure while others were guided by idealism and wished to found new European communities. There are few opportunities like this in our post-colonial era for frontiersmanship and adventure. While Western militaries do not have noble objectives generally speaking, it still seems to be a pathway for obtaining useful skills, martial virtues, and worldliness.
Obviously, one has to approach the matter egoistically. From what you wrote, it seems like there are ways to take advantage of the military by aiming for specific career paths so that you minimize the chance of becoming canon fodder.
Also, Mr. Reed only addresses the American military experience. What about young men in other Anglophone or European countries? These nations are comparatively not as occupied with aggressive engagement with the rest of the world.
Anyway, I am thankful for this discussion since I have been considering a military career, although not as an American.
Interesting, well written rundown of your own experience.
There is a real danger here insofar as White Americans abandon their institutions.
What happens when the ranks of the armed forces are filled up with third world migrants while the proverbial blue haired apparatchiks are running the Pentagon? It’s not just a matter of infantrymen going door to door to confiscate muh guns. It’s the DoD public-private partnerships which will cancel your social media and bank accounts. And a lot more.
Once upon a time it might have been feasible for patriots to head for the frontier to escape government overreach. But today? In an age of universal surveillance, masking mandates, drone strikes, and migrant “diversification” of the back 40?
Sooner or later you have to turn and fight back.
As usual, you need some kind of an organization, a front or network to mobilize White and White adjacent advocates whose goal is turning around the military. There are already a couple of these groups operating, largely online.
Some ideas on a Manifesto:
We will not support military recruitment until all anti-White/anti-American agitprop ceases. This means no more CRT indoctrination. No more “diversity” promotions. No more DEI commissars.
No more purges of rightist and anti-vaccine personnel. And all such personnel who have been purged must be reinstated.
No more mandated declarations of support for “diversity” policies. Instead, let’s have an open debate on policy. Can anyone show how “diversity” enhanced operations during the Persian Gulf wars, 2001-21? Or has defended the US southern border? Heck, the military can not even save the names of its own bases and is now projected to fight a global war!
And oh yeah: restore “Duty, Honor, Country” as the West Point motto.
Just spitballing here, but networks can be organized along these lines.
Perhaps C-C could do a podcast interview with someone with recent experience in the military for more ideas?
“What happens when the ranks of the armed forces are filled up with third world migrants while the proverbial blue haired apparatchiks are running the Pentagon?”
In this scenario there will be many different groups, most of whom are antagonistic to each other. Will Hispanics listen to blacks and vice versa? Will anyone listen to effeminate trannies who claim to be in charge? Will black people’s legendary self discipline mean they’ll follow anyone’s orders? Which groups have the necessary intelligence to service, use and maintain the complex weapon systems in use today?
If Whites become a small minority in the armed forces, I see discipline (the bedrock of any successful military) falling apart. Rampant theft and soldiers going AWOL.
Possibly some group will take over such as the Hispanics aligning with the drug cartels and pursuing their own agenda.
Just remember, the patriotism is to defend your own tyrant against the foreign ones. And, well, a nationalist loves people, a patriot loves a state, even if this state is hostile to its people.
Pedantic, but WW2 was not a defensive war but an offensive one for Amerika. So even in ww2 the troops weren’t defending our freedumbs. Sorry!
WW2, or better said, the second stage of Anglo-German war of 1914-1945, was an offensive war for the British Empire, which simply used American money and material and Russian cannon fodder to destroy its German enemy.
I’m from California and I know that Mexicans have turned that state into a hell hole for sure. Blacks are not our only, or even our biggest racial problem and I can’t understand why so many white nationalists lately have been in such denial about that. All they want to talk about are blacks and Muslims. https://www.illegalaliencrimereport.com/
It’s great that you followed the money until the corporate level that fuels the wars.
Now write part two and tell us where it goes after that, and since we can print it to oblivion now and it doesn’t matter, why does America want to send young men to fight wars abroad that result in national psychological trauma for those who fight them and for those behind that live with the financial/social/and guilt for ignoring the reality – because let not kid ourselves deep down inside they all know?
What is the endgame of generation trauma repeating itself since 1945 that fills, dumbness down and destroys the social fabric they so badly now want to reinvent and replace.
Ask yourself that.
The arms industry is a white industry. One of the last, if just not THE last white industry. The arms race means more White jobs, not Chinese ones.
What a great article, great because it is so true, thank you Fred Reed.
I am proud to have enlisted and served and believe there are things worth fighting for, but those things have been missing in America for a long time now.
The military industrial complex as President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned, is the major manipulator of “hero worshiping” young men, and cause of atrocious wars with or without our physical involvement. But it goes further back before WWII, and it is backed and supported by big oil and other corporate interest / business powers of finance.
U.S. sudden involvement militarily in WWI was about saving our bankers a 2 billion dollar loan to our allies before they lost the war and our money with them. There was nothing in it for the hordes of young “death or glory” volunteers. Young men of the South also did not fight the civil war to protect their rights to slavery, most never had or could afford a slave, and young men did not flock to Iraq or Afghanistan to protect or increase their energy stock portfolio, petrol being point and not weapons of mass hallucination.
All one needs to read is a book by the most famous and most decorated U.S. marine named Maj. Gen. Smedley D. Butler (A socialist) who was also part of the veteran protest in D.C. mentioned in another book;
“In 1932 military veterans protested in the capital for their overdue bonuses during the great depression. George Patton eager to make his mark was called on to violently suppress the protest. Using armed cavalry to burn down the veteran’s shanty town dubbed Hooverville, the ex-soldiers who had served under him cried shame. One of those veterans and a friend of the General then requested to see him; Patton denied knowing him and refused an audience. That man was Mr. Joe Angelo, who had saved Patton’s life during the First World War. There are too many leaders who prioritize their own growing power and image above all else, their own survival above all those they command. Unfortunately, in this and our own historic culture they can be defined by their success as most succeed, just as many of those who fight for justice can be identified and ostracized by their failure and demise”. – Guzziferno
“Our enemy wasn’t Germany, it was Russia!’
..&..”we fought the wrong army!”
General George S. Patton (May 1945)
His plan was to march and take Moscow by Christmas 1945. The remnants of his 3rd Army and what was left of the Axis militaries, would have of defeated the Globalist ( cough, cough!) beasts and there would have been NO Korean/Vietnam/Iraq/ Afghan wars., not to mention communist ruination of the white Americans and Europeans!
