Cancel culture started out as low hum that at first was easy to ignore. The first few celebrities to be canceled were people I didn’t care that much about. There was that lady I had never heard of who had a cooking show. Paula something. A C-list actor here and a former sitcom star there would get canceled but life went on for me. But then they came for Whirr. (more…)

Like a dog to its vomit, a junkie to his stash, or an inveterate gambler to table or race-track, I went back. I was determined to write no more about obscure English rock bands, believing that I had covered the territory to my satisfaction and, one hopes, that of the reader. Having covered Killing Joke, Joy Division, Thin Lizzy (not strictly English, granted), Queen (not exactly obscure), Sex Pistols (ditto), The Fall, The Pogues (definitely not English), Morrissey, The Auteurs, Ultravox!, Ian Dury, Wild Billy Childish, and The Slits, I thought it a job done. Last week I wrote about the Glastonbury Music Festival and how it had been hijacked by a pair of black rappers named Bob Vylan to pump out a dirge seemingly calling for the colonization of England by malcontented persons of other races like them. Also playing Glastonbury at the same time, however, were one of the most quintessentially English bands, Pulp, who have just reformed and released their first new album, More, since breaking up in 2002. Renegade: The Lives and Tales of Marc E Smith
Viking, 2008I hope this book turns out like Mein Kampf for the Hollyoaks generation.
–Mark E. Smith, Renegade***
I’ve written about a number of English bands for Counter-Currents: Joy Division, Killing Joke, Morrissey, Ultravox (the original, good Ultravox). (more…)

In this article, I will be listing my ultimate fantasy rock and roll band.
However, this will be different than your usual fantasy rock band list where people create a theoretical supergroup composed of who they think are the best and/or their favorite musicians on each instrument: “I’d have Eddie Van Halen on guitar, John Bonham on drums, Geddy Lee on bass….” For my fantasy rock band, musical talent will not be a criterion I will be using. Any power struggle is preceded by a verification of images and iconoclasm. This is why we need poets — they initiate the overthrow, even that of titans. — Ernst Jünger, The Forest Passage
Generations of dissident nationalists and their work have cultivated a thriving philosophical and intellectual ecosystem both online and in print. The Internet in particular has provided fertile terrain for countless blogs, vlogs, podcasts, and more. (more…)

I am the last of the famous international playboys. — Morrissey, song of the same name
Reggae music is vile. — Morrissey, 1980s interview
It began as one of those pub conversations about culture and art. You know how it is: Four or five guys (no chicks, please; they tend not to know much about music, and they are a distraction) not so much shooting the breeze as machine-gunning it. (more…)

From now until the New Year, I am offering my dubious skills as a karaoke songbird to help Counter-Currents reach its fundraising goal. I’ve done four songs so far, which you can view below. For $100 (or more) per ditty, I am willing to post a video of myself performing a song of your choice, provided I feel I can do the song justice. (more…)

How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, old man?
Morrissey, our favorite gay (postulated) racist (dismissed) vegan (confirmed), released his 13th solo album today, March 20th, 2020. It is called I Am Not a Dog on a Chain, which is a fantastic example of just how kneecapped the self-awareness of the rich and famous can be. (more…)

Oh, Morrissey. So much to answer for.
The former Smiths ringleader and self-described “humansexual” released his twelfth solo studio album in May, a collection of covered songs from the 1960s and ‘70s backed by such names as Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong and Broken Social Scene’s Ariel Engle. (more…)

You would think that after more than thirty-five years in the public eye that there would be no more surprises left. You would think that now that he’s turning 60, all the youthful rebellion would be long gone. And you would think that after the last two months of the media losing their collective marbles over Moz’s red-pilled statements and his support for the Right-wing populist party For Britain, that Morrissey would be ready to lay low for a while.

“I straighten up, and my position is one of hope. The march backwards is over, and life has begun again.” — Morrissey
A couple weeks ago, I wrote an article about the iconic ex-Smiths singer and champion of the white race Morrissey and his drift to the Right and support of Anne-Marie Waters and her party For Britain. (more…)

One of the most satisfying aspects of Morrissey’s recent drift into the populist nativist Right is the absolute butthurt from his shitlib fans. It’s glorious. They feel so betrayed. (more…)
