Late last year, my big prediction for 2026 was that Donald Trump would be forced to step down as US President because he was destroying the coalition that elected him, thus making it increasingly likely that the Left would return to power with a vengeance. A Homeland Institute poll I conducted found low support for intervening against Iran, as did many other polls. But Trump’s disastrous 2026 Iran War has not had as strong of an immediate effect on polling as it should have, both in regard to Trump and to the war.

Now that Donald Trump has embroiled the United States in Israel’s war with Iran, one could be forgiven for assuming that the Zionist stranglehold on the Republican party is stronger than ever. After all, Trump-supporting media outlets are firmly behind the president, and MAGA loyalists seem utterly enthralled by the cult of personality that has developed around their supposed champion. Perhaps there was some truth to Trump’s joking remark, made in January of 2016, that he could “shoot someone” on a busy street in New York and without losing the backing of his voter base. (more…)

We have no idea what the final outcome of the US midterm elections will be, with several crucial races having yet to be called, and nobody is promising anything until next week — and even then, the Chairman of Arizona’s Maricopa County Board of Supervisors is saying, “Don’t hold me to it.” (That’s code for “Ignore this shady stuff and please don’t do another January 6, okay?”)
