Declining belief in God is a verified long-term trend in the United States. For instance, the Pew Research Center found that Americans identifying as having no religion rose from 5% in 1972 to 29% in 2022.

It is also generally accepted that atheism is a belief of the Left, and the evidence for that is overwhelming. A 2024 Pew Center poll found that 84% of self-described atheists identified with Democratic Party policies, versus only 13% who favored the Republican Party. (more…)

When you come from a place where the first settlers arrived only 400 years ago, and 80% of the buildings where you live are less than 50 years old, and then you spend time in a 2,700-year-old city, you tend to start seeing things in a different light. The fight to preserve and restore the white race is fraught with obstacles and adversaries. Most are known; even our opponents who have tried to diminish us while remaining hidden in the shadows have had their intentions exposed. For the immediate future, for the most part, we have a clear vision of the struggle and a reasonable sense of how to proceed (although, there are still some disagreements about the latter).

However, we also face the possibility that technical advances will produce such sweeping transformations that we can scarcely fathom them, let alone know how to turn them to our advantage. (more…)

Too often, otherwise reasonable whites have been lulled to think there are no such boundaries. They commit fuzzy thinking such as “not all of them are like that,” “we all want the same things,” “diversity is our strength,” “the colorblind meritocratic society is the fairest,” and so on. “Despite my disgust at the idea, I find myself strangely drawn to white supremacy. Why can that be?”

That question (slightly edited) was posed to me by a close friend. He is extremely accomplished, a retired scientist and professor, author of many books (no bestsellers, though), and is very astute and still writing in his eighties. He has one foot in race realism, having publicly discussed racial IQ differences, attacked DEI, and consistently pointed out that minority scholarship is frequently subpar. And yet, every time he gets too close to actual white identity or advocacy, he goes running back to the safety of the multicultural, colorblind meritocracy.

I appreciated Jesse Poe Holliday’s recent article about the struggles of young men to achieve manhood. He indeed captures the sense of aimlessness and cluelessness exhibited by so many young men today (and to be fair, young women are not showing up much better. Recent polls suggest that as many as half are rejecting motherhood, and I have seen reports that absurdly high numbers of young women are on some sort of anti-depressant of mood elevator drug.) During the 2024 presidential campaign, we could see all the Tech Bros lurking around Trump, filling his head with sweet nothings—and talk of the need for cheap foreign tech labor. During the campaign and shortly after the election, Trump mentioned increasing legal immigration while deporting illegals, suggesting such tactics as stapling green cards to the diplomas of graduating foreign students and giving a pathway to citizenship for “Dreamers.” (more…)

Cary Nelson is a very smart man. He is an emeritus English professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne and was the president of the American Association of University Professors from 2006 to 2012. As much as anybody else writing about higher education today, he grasps the hair-splitting nuances of academic freedom. He knows where to delineate the boundaries between expressions that deserves protection and those that should be subject to professional or administrative control. (more…)
